Remy: It's Raining Men (Boeing Parody)
Boeing throws conventional wisdom out the window, among other things.
HD DownloadSome planes come with their own baggage.
Parody of The Weather Girls' "It's Raining Men" written and performed by Remy. Mastering and background vocals by Ben Karlstrom. Table by Scott A. Ewine.
LYRICS
Welcome to Boeing, where we make earnings per share
And also, I guess, planes
Sir, I still have a concern about the safety of our process for the new—
Have you seen our new incentive pay?
Our new plane is fuel efficient
It's the Prius of the skies
And once we hit our ESG targets
We've got enough to worry about, guys
Diluting our key priorities
Is problematic for safety
Don't you think there might one day be consequences to this?
None that I can foresee
Um…It's raining men
That's a dude, yeah
It's raining men
A man!
Our passengers unlike our fuselage will be screwed under this plan!
Things could not be any going worse
Um, have you seen our diversity score?
Our executive team and door fastenings
Both have fewer nuts than before
If we reach our CO2 standards
I can buy that Panerai
The only carbon plummeting
Is the body of that guy
Oh, don't tell me it's happening again—
It's raining men
Another dude, yeah…
It's raining men
A man!
Like Jim Morrison's overdose this is really bad for the doors, man.

Too soon.
Nah, he missed the obviously great joke if someone walked in and shot the safety guy
I watched the original for a few seconds, good parody, but lousy tune, hard to even call it a tune.
Not soon enough.
Anyone else notice that they are mostly United planes?

Boeing was able to certify the 777 for transpacific flight. It was a big change to fly with only two engines across oceans with minimal redundancy. Boeing did the statistics, math, and engineering to get the FAA to allow the 777 to fly across oceans where engine reliability is critical. The FAA accepted Beings arguments and certified the 777 twin engine cross ocean certification. First ever for a twin engine. This was extremely successful. The 777 has an incredible safety record. I have flown it across the Atlantic and the Pacific several times and have 0 qualms about it. The 737 NEO had a similar situation with the FAA. They convinced the FAA that they had done the simulations that validated the 737 NEO. The two crashes with the loss of hundreds of lives along with the grounding of the NEO puts the simulations and FAA collusion in question. Maybe the 777 was just damn good engineering and Boeing is lucky that it matched the math. Note: I flew in a both types two weeks ago on non-international flights. I knew I was getting on the tainted NEO. I have also designed equipment installed in Seattle's Boeing facility and other locations. Working with Boeing engineers made me question their technical ability.
