Governor Scott Walker helped welcome the 2013 National School Choice Week whistle-stop train tour to Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Jan. 30. Gov. Walker was joined by Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, as well as a host of school choice advocates from around the state.
"Every student, every family has a different way of succeeding. We want to provide them with as many choices as possible," said Walker.
National School Choice Week is an annual event designed to draw attention to - and advocate for - educational options for K-12 students. During the week, over 200 groups are hosting thousands of events across the country, exploring everything from charter schools and voucher programs to online curricula.
Produced by Paul Detrick and Tracy Oppenheimer.
