      Yup, you did forget.

Clinton, in cooperation with Republicans, produce a balanced budget. Dubya blew that up with tax cuts and increased spending.

Nah, he benefited mostly from a bubble economy. He was more economically sensible than today’s democrats. He lowered taxes on dividends and repealed goes stegeal.

He never had a surplus. The myth will just never die.

Bullshit. Clinton ran surpluses in FY 1999 and 2000. His Omnibus of 1993 cut spending and raised the top rate from 31% to 39.6% and led to a booming economy. The bill got zero Republican votes.

You liars get called out when I’m here.

Clinton never ran a surplus. Us debt increased every year. Deficits got near zero from a bubble and climbed again after the bubble crashed.

There was a Time Magazine article in 2000 asking what will the country do with all the surpluses forecast in 2000 on?

        Then the Bushpigs happened.

Waffen-Bush also instituted faith-based asset-forfeiture looting. By 2007 looting lawmen actually outpaced burglars nationwide, but it was for God, Jesus, Dare Kids and Just-Say-NYET! Who'd a thunk that confiscating thousands of grow houses in California and elsewhere could cause major defaults breaking mortgage-backed derivatives markets and bringing another Herbert Hoover prohibitionist Crash and Depression?

The problem with the BBB is that Congress is dominated by big spenders: all the Democrats and the RINOs which are a majority of the GOP. Trump can only do so much with the congress we've collectively voted for.

The insanity of BBB is no new major spending on the level of ACA and Biden BBB but lower taxes leading to deficits. OK

Thank god libertarians don’t run government, whose policy seem to be that tax cuts cannot happen without corresponding spending cuts. Spending cuts won’t happen as long as the Democrat party exists, so no tax cut could ever occur. Ever.

The key is to understand that the overspending, the debt, the rush toward insolvency, is going to happen to no matter what. You cannot stop it.

The main question is did you prefer to spend eleventy billion on transgender re-education forced on you by childless harpies waving black lives matter flags... or do you want to control the border and get rid of disparate impact lawsuits?

You can't have both. You have to pick one apparently.

I've been saying that here for several years. This can't be fixed. It's too late. We're Thelma and Louise headed for the cliff. Enjoy our fake prosperity as long as our military can make it last. The rest of the world is tiring of our bullying and will soon dump us. I'm glad I'm not young.

The Big Beautiful Bill might be the very best that we can expect to be passed out of Washington DC, which is a very depressing thought. It does not seem that they even tried very hard.

It's starting to feel like someone has real dirt on Trump and not the phony bs that the democrats keep trotting out. I say this with his recent actions such as bombing Iran, his cabinet minions claiming that Jeffrey Epstein didn't have a client list and there is nothing suspicious about his death.

Full disclosure that I have never voted for Trump, don't really like Trump, am very suspicious of Trump, and despise the Republicans and abhor the Democrats. Believe that effectively we have a uni-party with two warring deep-state factions, that our government is corrupt to the hilt.

How long did that war with Iran go, or would you prefer nuclear terrorists?

As for Epstein, my bet is the blackmail and cause of the disappearance is the scale of damage revelation would cause. Given the longstanding nature of the honeytrap operation you could easily see a large portion of Fortune 500 and Wall Street execs suddenly under fire with the associated stock hits and who wants to be responsible for wiping out half of everyone's savings? Doesn't excuse the cover up but could explain it without direct threats or blackmail.

The original and authentic libertarians were socialists, and in 1971, the corporate stooges hijacked the name forming the Libertarian Party, on the premise that property rights, which reflect the privilege of the power elites, were primary, with human rights lagging behind. Current "Libertarians" don't like to hear this but it's true.

Stripped of its RAndian dogmas, current anti-socialist libertarianism is about enhancing the power of the private powers such as corporations, by shrinking the one power that can both stop private seizure of wealth or simply taking it over in what is rightfully called corporate fascism. In the final tally , the fight against libertarian socialism, is a fight on behalf of the tyranny of the minority, the plutocracy which runs things. Where do "libertarians" stand on the genocide in Gaza? NOt a peep. Instead, the great threat is a democratic socialists who wants free buses, as tho school buses should be free! This wild, radical, and dangerous dystopian fantasy threatens not only taxi drivers but also the vast fleets of private buses that take our kids to school.
