I regret my bias towards most of TV prevented me from earlier learning I was "skeptimistic" along with Mr. Rowe. (I thought "Dirty Jobs" was "reality" TV (a.k.a mass insanity TV). I am skeptimistic in that I think most American are fundamentally decent, and want a better tomorrow for their kids and neighbor's kids and kids generally. But translating that decency into policy requires participation in governance/government and many rapidly sour on confronting the extent to which the unacceptable has been made "acceptable" by alleged "crises."
When patriotism is inversely proportional to communication like social media there are two options to improve it.
Be a fascist totalitarian and censor communication like Biden does.
Or communicate more to expose and eradicate fascist totalitarians like Biden and Trump etc etc are.
Criminalize lying and elect whoever is speaking freely.
[I see Reich boy responded to you, but I cannot see what it has written because it is muted; pretty sure it alleges some sort of Zionist conspiracy]
Anyway, yes, we do reside in a society that thrives on moral panic and a government and its catamite media that engages in fear mongering, as in "If the Republicans win this election it will be the end of civilization as we know it [Nancy Pelosi, on at least two occasions];" I assumed she meant exploitation of various and sundry victims and dispensing of entitlements.
Being a self admitted bigot who has chosen not to even see counter arguments much less refute those it denies, this ass demonstrates the result of “assuming”
Being that you are a Nazi shit, no one with any sense reads your spewings.
That’s a self fulfilling prophecy
To clarify, we live in a "society" defined by government, media, academia, entertainment, and tech progressive elites, who all ceaselessly pound away on narratives for the rest of us to consume--including the narrative that wicked, far-right evil-doers run the country. Anyway, it is this elite, and they're fully captured sycophants, who thrive on moral panic and catastrophism. After all, this is the primary justification they have for "temporary" emergency powers.
What should the US stand for?
Unwanted Suggestions (Dems).
Unfindable Spine (GOP).
Unsupportable Statist (LP).
That whole Liberry and Justice for All thing sounds pretty good.
Paul Harvey and Charles Kuralt were affable hacks that produced fluff. Studs Terkel was a pinko fuck. None of them ever wrote anything profound or meaningful.
Plimpton was better. I still wouldn't consider his stuff profound, but at least he told the unvarnished truth.
