Political attention has already migrated to Acostagate, the sacking of Jeff Sessions, and that insane press conference from yesterday, but there was an actual election of some note on Tuesday, and much to talk about from a libertarian perspective. So we convened an irregular assembly of the Reason Podcast, editors' roundtable edition, to deliver some preliminary findings.

Katherine Mangu-Ward, Nick Gillespie, Peter Suderman, and Matt Welch debate the permanent hysteria of presidential politics, the electoral role and legislative future of health care policy, third-party sadnesses, and some happy news peeking through the usual woe.

Will there ever be a morning after for the midterms? Can we discuss Plan B for these people - retroactive abortions for everybody involved?

Unfortunately I don't know who my parents are, my father was just some random drunk longshoreman and my mother was a crack whore. She'd work down on the docks and everybody that had a turn would give her a dollar. The nice ones would tell her to keep the change. Or at least that's what I was told down to Our Lady of Sorrows and Regretful Fashion Choices Orphanium where I was left for adoption when I was but a few hours old. But at least my mother was a useful if not productive member of society instead of a politician so there's no shame attached to the family legacy.

Not if Drumpf has anything to do with it! This moron of a president is bound to demand a recount whether he wins or loses. He can't even seem to find his own ride after stepping off of Air Force One half the time for God's sake!

The comment about drop in 3rd party support really struck home. Here in OK the State Auditor was a 2-way race between a Repub and a Libertarian. The Repub won with ~75% support. That means the Libertarian couldn't even pull all the Democrat vote...Disdain for a 3rd party candidate was strong enough that most of the Demo vote would rather vote (R) than (L).

3rd Party support seems to tank during most important elections ever. No matter how you try to convince people otherwise, the Feeling of wasted votes When the stakes are high is tough to shake.
