LYRICS:
Wake up in the morning ten minutes late, I
hit the snooze like a Chris Brown date I
brush all my teeth, I'm driving, and I'm on my way
But I'm floored when I walk into the joint I'm
more confused than Joe Namath with a coin my
boss' memo says starting today
I'm working 1 to 5
My hours keep on falling
Now I'm not full-time
All the creditors keep calling
Said I could keep my plan
I'm no longer a believer
My new deductible's so high
you'd think its dad was Jeremy Bieber
Working 1 to 5
Not trying to be controversial
it's just I'm home and I'm
watching J.G. Wentworth commercials
Say goodbye full time
and hello to under-employment
Because I'm working fewer hours
than a Flappy Bird high score
Working 1 to 5
I'm no longer out there toiling
My work schedule
is less complete than a Sochi toilet
Oh the New York Times
assures me that it's liberating
from what it isn't clear I guess
employment compensation
Working 1 to 5
Insecure and broke that's right
Working 1 to 5
Like the Obamacare website
Working 1 to 5
It's just a simple task
It's like they drilled the Keystone XL pipeline
directly up my…

WARNING: OLD COMMENTS (Because the weekend crew sucks ass)
They're from YESTERDAY. That's hardly old outside of the realm of AM/PM links, sir.
Look youngster. I know old. Now, get off my lawn!
HA!
You don't know old! I'm DEAD! You can't get much older than that!
Is that considered a preexisting condition?
kibby|2.22.14 @ 8:00PM|#
"Is that considered a preexisting condition?"
Not for voter registration.
I was a highwayman, across the coach roads I did ride,
with sword and pistol by my side
many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade
many a soldier shed his life blood on my blade
Bastards hung me in the spring of '25, but I am still alive
I would love to see Bo get into an argument with his yesterday self .
That'd be an interesting experiment...have a mod change the name on all of his old posts and see if he will argue with himself.
I'll give it a 7 because it's creative, has a nice beat, and I can dance to it.
I prefer the "Wrecking Ball" video.
Yep. He still peaked with Arlington.
You need to have a counter-point video for all the people working 9-5 and paying twice as much for insurance, so that other people can pursue their dream of working 1-5 and getting subsidized health insurance.
Dont' worry, once the employer mandate kicks in we'll be working 1-5 and getting subsidized health insurance...
Freedom!
No reference to being better off being underemployed, as we've been told by Team Blue. Disappointing, that.
He did sing that the NYT dubbed employment reduction as "liberating."
Unemployment is just another word for being free to gambul in plain and forest.
I like that he wore Matt Welch's glasses in the video.
Horns only really work well in songs when there's energy, like this, or irony, like in the second half of "Dry the Rain". That was always one of my complaints about Van Morrison - he stuck a lot of unnecessary brass parts into his songs. In the studio version of "Caravan", the horns just bring the song down, but then in the Last Waltz version, they blow the roof off the place.
but then in the Last Waltz version, they blow the roof off the place.
That was just the coke.

my best friend's step-sister makes $78 hourly on the laptop . She has been laid off for five months but last month her check was $18550 just working on the laptop for a few hours. check here......

I own a biz and got Obamacared last month. We didn't get dropped like a few of the self employeds that I know, but our deductible went from 1500 to ten grand and tripled the copays for prescriptions and visits. Our old plan wasn't good enough for Obamacare.
Scienfoology Song? GAWD = Government Almighty's Wrath Delivers
Government loves me, This I know,
For the Government tells me so,
Little ones to GAWD belong,
We are weak, but GAWD is strong!
Yes, Guv-Mint loves me!
Yes, Guv-Mint loves me!
Yes, Guv-Mint loves me!
My Nannies tell me so!
GAWD does love me, yes indeed,
Keeps me safe, and gives me feed,
Shelters me from bad drugs and weed,
And gives me all that I might need!
Yes, Guv-Mint loves me!
Yes, Guv-Mint loves me!
Yes, Guv-Mint loves me!
My Nannies tell me so!
DEA, CIA, KGB,
Our protectors, they will be,
FBI, TSA, and FDA,
With us, astride us, in every way!
Yes, Guv-Mint loves me!
Yes, Guv-Mint loves me!
Yes, Guv-Mint loves me!
My Nannies tell me so!
I fear the Sochi toilet line might date this song.
Agreed. Destined to be a classic otherwise. And that Dolly Parton tune, NEVER gets old.
Art Acevedo, the police chief of Austin, TX, discusses the arrest of a jogger and how it met the high expectations he has of his officers.
"In other cities, cops are actually committing sexual assaults on duty, so I thank God that this is what passes for a controversy in Austin, Texas."

Um...fuck you pig.
I am so relieved! Now that all violent and other real crimes have been brought to a screeching halt it warms my heart that the police have time to stop and arrest these nefarious jaywalkers and disturbers of the peace.
FFS - I cannot imagine why we are paying taxes to fund this kind of zoddamned pety authority compliance. Complete bullshit.
I cannot imagine why we are paying taxes to fund this kind of zoddamned pety authority compliance
Because they will use violence against you if you don't.
Erick Erickson Says Serving Gays Aids and Abets Sin
"Fox News contributor Erick Erickson suggested that businesses serving gay couples were 'aiding and abetting sin.'
Erickson continued his criticism of his Fox News colleague Kirsten Powers' recent USA Today column, in which Powers criticized 'homosexual Jim Crow laws' currently being debated in several state legislatures. Those laws would allow businesses to refuse service to gay customers for religious reasons.
In her column, Powers, an evangelical Christian herself, argued that Christians shouldn't refuse services to people simply because they disagreed with them, noting that many 'Christians serve unrepentant murders through prison ministry.' Erickson responded by asserting that, unlike prison ministers, businesses that serve gay couples would be 'aiding and abetting' sin"
http://equalitymatters.org/blog/201402210001
In her column, Powers also said that there should not be any laws exempting conscientious objectors from military service, because from a theological standpoint, military service is completely compatible with Christianity and therefor the government should force Christians to engage in it.
She added that Rastafians shouldn't get a religious exemption from the marijuana laws, because marijuana is icky and Rastafarians aren't really Christians - Christians shouldn't be smoking marijuana, so the government should stop them and everyone else from doing it.
There was a time when Christians simply refused to follow laws that conflicted with their faith, and if the state punished them for it, they greeted it as an opportunity to suffer for Christ, all the way up to martyrdom if necessary. Look at St. Sebastian, who was accused of being a coward when he refused to fight in the Roman army, only to reply that he had no problem with walking up to the enemy's front line unarmed, it was only committing violence that he refused to do.
Now they just bitch and moan about it but ultimately comply. Showing they don't actually believe in any of this stuff when push comes to shove... and their hope in Christ is only for this life, as Paul put it.
I'm sure there are plenty of examples - do you have specific examples in mind?
Of course, there's always this:
"In Syria alone, there have been reports of kidnappings, Christian communities intentionally displaced by militants, as well as shootings and beheadings of Christians who *refused to convert to Islam,* according to various news reports from the region."
http://www.foxnews.com/politic.....ppearance/
Eddie, here is the column in question, I do not see that in there.

"What's the matter with Kansas? A bill protecting the religious freedom of businesses and individuals to refuse services to same-sex couples passed the state House of Representatives last week. It was *blessedly killed* in the state Senate on Tuesday."
[emphasis added]
Oh, this is your extrapolation or something, she never said those things.

If the last bit of comment-bait didn't get any comments, I'm guessing that a lot of people are away from their computers for some reason.
Let me try this one:
"Raleigh, N.C. ? A Superior Court judge on Friday issued an injunction blocking a North Carolina law that allows low-income parents to send their children to private or religious schools with taxpayer money....
"The opponents argued that spending taxpayer money on private schools is unconstitutional, especially when some of the schools discriminate in their admissions and don't have the academic standards or accountability of public schools."

I would think that the same people who on SSM threads argue that SSM is a bad thing because we should be focusing on getting the state out of the marriage business altogether and/or that recognizing SSM would just mean expanding government goodies to a new group might be logically compelled to argue that this kind of voucher program is a bad thing since we should be focused on ending state support (and control) of education and/or that since we already have this sort of thing for colleges this would be an expansion.
But I will not be holding my breath on that.
If the government was forcing everyone to either get married, there would be a valid comparison with the education system.
The government forces us to pay for different benefits for married people, no?
Red herring is your middle name, eh Bo?
I am going to call you on this: what is the red herring?
Oh Christ, here we go.
No, really. People on the internet throw around the names of logical fallacies like Santa does presents on Christmas, and often I think they do not know what they are talking about. The issue, from a libertarian position, is not only being forced to do something (of course, you are not forced to send a child to school either, you can homeschool or have no children, but the state will still make you pay for others' schooling) but that you are forced to pay for or subsidize others activities.
"You got Tulpa in my Bo!"
"You got Bo in my Tulpa!"
See you in a hundred posts.
Forgive people for debating libertarian points on Reason! What would really be the proper use for this discussion board would be for someone to post something about someone doing something we all agree is horrible and then outdo each other agreeing how terrible it is.
Sheesh.
Just because you pretend to be blind doesn't make me your seeing eye dog.
Certainly a master of logic could easily show the red herring?
You did not know what you were talking about.
It's the weekend, man. Nobody wants to ruin their fun with serious news.

Another Brittany. My current pair are 9 and 7. Time to get training a pup.
Nice. You use them for hunting or other purposes beyond companionship?
Yeah, they double as bird dogs and couch warmers...my kids.

Cats are much cuter than babies. Fact.
Future weird, bitter cat lady...
Because having children is a guarantee of happiness. People certainly can't have their own opinions about what makes life a satisfying journey for them.
Go fuck yourself.
Lighten up Francis.
It just occurred to me for some reason that babies are like little drunks.
I think of it as the other way around, alcohol consumption is the safest way to stimulate regressed age, much safer that Iiterative self-flagellation to the head with a tack hammer.
Consider a nominal adult human subject. The blood alcohol content within an individual with highly coherent speech patterns and excellent hand-eye coordination skills, is inversely proportional to experienced developmental age. I shall demonstrate in general terms, as tolerance to ethyl alcohol depends on the individual.
Subject gets a warm enough buzz on to slightly hamper the control of speech and at the same time, retard the control system of hand-eye coordination, allowing the subject to temporarily revisit the motor control of an advanced toddler. At this stage subject is more likely to collide with clean sliding glass windows and lamp posts than compared with the control case.
Subject gets a little more drink on and speech becomes slurred, but is still ineligible. Motor skills such as walking, running, or playing Jenga are somewhat refined, but become sloppy. Feet are tripped over, pivots whilst running are more likely to result in falling over.
Cont.
Subject imbibes more and speech becomes incoherent enough that the subject is only able to convey their general point; the train of thought is fractured and topics of conversation may abruptly change with furious pontification occurring. Locomotive motor skills are retarded to the degree that bipedal travel is tenuous at best. Walking is sloppy and without rhythm as the subject struggles to maintain balance and remain upright. The so-called "drunk walk" is directly analogous to an infant learner walker.
Subject drinks more still and eventually is glossy-eyed, responding largely to broad ocular stimulus such as slowly moving bodies and bright shiny objects within the field of view. Subject is not able to walk, but may crawl at times for the purposes of locomotion.
Cont.
Subject imbibes more and becomes akin to a new infant. Subject may soil oneself, readily lapses into sleep, and is prone to vomiting at unpredictable and inopportune times that are a hazard to death. Subject is not capable of locomotion on any useful sense, may kick the legs, laughing incoherent babble with cooing and chirping sounds, with copious drooling.
Further blood alcohol content results in the subject being laregely unresponsive and in a state of sleep. "Blackout" partially correlates with the foetus in the womb, as kicking and movement of arms within the subject are unlikely.
Upon fatal levels of ethyl consumption, correlation of the subject with the zygote is limited to lack of heartbeat only. ont.

Intelligent discussion from Raw Story re California being divided into six states:
He wants a Billionaire state, where they don't pay taxes but roads and everything just materialize or the FEDS provide it for them.
Yes, billionaire tech magnates could not possibly figure out a way to put asphalt on the ground.

California finally has a budget surplus after effectively removing the one group that made it ungovernable; the teabaggers.
So when that pension bubble pops and comes crashing down on us like Armageddon, will the Rawtards blame the Teabaggers?

Never going to pass, but WOW, rich folks really hate the rest of us, eh?
And the rest of them really hate the idea of decentralized government that's actually more responsive to democracy, for some reason.
How can you read this drivel without your eyes bleeding??
It's like building up an immunity to venom, you do it in small doses so in the future you can take a full dose without breaking down in despair at the existence of such rank stupidity.
It really does make one despair for the human race.
They vote, so that is despairing but they are so ignorant and impotent that it's tempting to feel sorry for such pathetic people.
Until they reveal themselves to so mean-spirited and smug that you just take pleasure in their impotent rage.
There is something delightful in watching them work themselves into a foaming rage over the most trivial things.
And maybe it's for the best. While there's sure to be some "interstate" issues that come up, government accountability would definitely improve.
"And the rest of them really hate the idea of decentralized government that's actually more responsive to democracy, for some reason."
I understand you calling them on the hypocrisy, but there's something to be said for larger districts:
It's hard to0 gerrymander an entire state.
It's hard to gerrymander an entire state.
It can be done.
The tech companies are already bypassing the state and offering their own transportation. The largest ones even own their own fiber. I think they can take care of infrastructure -- especially considering there would still be a government, and probably a pretty damn big one, too.
Who's "us"? They may hate you.
Not sure I'm rich, but I hate that slimy whiner.

It really is a puzzler those people are tired of Wendy's ilk constantly advocating their expropriation or murder.
Yeah, really strange when those who you threaten to rob get pissed!
I don't know why they don't think much of sleazebags like Wendy!
Hey, Wendy! I hope someone does nasty things to you! But don't hate me for that.
