Obamacare Launch Eroding Faith in Government as Problem Solver: Reason-Rupe Poll December 2013
"One word that kept coming up over and over again was the word 'disaster,'" says Reason-Rupe polling director Emily Ekins when referring to responses to the question, "What one word would you use to describe the implementation of the federal health care law so far?" Pollsters rated an overwhelming 65 percent of responses to that question as negative.
Ekins sat down with Reason TV's Zach Weissmueller to discuss the portion of the results from the December Reason-Rupe poll focused on the implementation of Obamacare in the wake of a disastrous website rollout and the broken pledge that, "If you like your plan, you can keep it."
The poll found President Obama's job approval rating at 47 percent, with only 38 percent of respondents approving of how he's handled the health care issue. But the problems seem to go even deeper than that, with 47 percent of respondents answering that the implementation of the health care law has decreased their overall confidence in the government's ability to solve problems. Even worse for the president, 52 percent disagree with what they perceive to be his view about the proper size and power of government, and these numbers hold up among Obama's key constituency of 25-34 year olds.
Watch the video above to hear Ekins delve deeper into these results and more.

May I say that anyone who had faith in government as a problem solver to begin with, has a mental disability that is probably not solvable even by Obamacares new mental health coverage?
Please don't confuse mental illness with stupidity. Mental illness can be treated, often with success. You can't fix stupid.
More Beatings! Summon the troll!
Obamacare was actually a plot formulated by the those evil Koch bros to undermine American's faith in their government.
Of course! And Obama only learned about it on the evening news, and he was SHOCKED.
Please, Obama is their front man. The end result will be that everything that Obama does will be thought of as being done by "the most transparent administration in history". When the lies come out the left will think "If that's what the most transparent President did, what did the OTHER guys do?"
From then on faith in government nosedives.
Anyone who has "faith" in government is either seriously disturbed or a fool.

Thank you Obama for making the libertarian case with hands on modeling.
"Obamacare Launch Eroding Faith in Government as Problem Solver".
It's sure as hell time SOMETHING did.
The less Americans must depend upon themselves the bigger fools they become.
Gee, all it took was a colossul fuck up of epic proportions.
"Gee, all it took was a colossul fuck up of epic proportions."
You'd think a trip to the DMV would do the trick, but nooooooooooooo.
Then why didn't the Bush administration do the trick? I mean it's not like they didn't have several.
They have merely lost faith in the Platonic Ideals of statism and collectivism, a temporary divergence from rationalism to skepticism. We will crank up the propaganda, and "the people" shall inherit the earth (of the 1%).

Where is the transition between "large", if that is the correct adjective for some range less than 65%, and "overwhelming"? And what would, say, 95% be?
Well, 51% is obviously a "large majority" to many of these people since that's all that, according to them, should be required to impose their will on the remaining 49%, no matter how scurrilous.

So there is no security, the website is a mess, people are left out in mass numbers, cancellations continue and premiums are set to skyrocket. And the employer mandate which affects most people hasn't even hit yet.
Of course this is falling apart. No issue was brought up about reducing costs, eliminating the insurance monopolies or reducing benefits that are abused by those who do not contribute. (And as a former provider I can tell you this is rampant)
What was implemented was the Marxist policy of one man shall pay so another may pay less or not at all. Brought in by deception from Barry himself. This will continue to grow worse when the employer mandate hits next year. I've written extensively in fiction what happens when entitlement is cherished as norm--the nation falls. Don't believe me? Try reading a history book sometime. It is astounding to me that Obamacare is still not being seen for what it is by a lot of people as in 1917 Russia when the people saw not what was coming--until it was too late and the cell door was slammed behind them for the next seventy years.

How can anyone erode faith that was never there to begin with. Government is not the solution to problems, it is the problem.
