Reason, the 50-year-old politics and culture magazine of "free minds and free markets," is hiring a full-time video journalist to join our award-winning video team. We're looking for an experienced reporter, videographer, and editor who can produce short-form documentaries on a broad range of topics—from criminal justice reform to biohacking, from autonomous vehicles to sex work. An ideal candidate will have good writing and editing skills, solid storytelling, and an interest in pitching and producing personality-driven videos from a libertarian perspective. We offer our staff a high level of autonomy to pursue journalistic projects that interest them.

We have some flexibility on location, but are ideally hoping to find someone living in or willing to relocate to the Washington, D.C. area, to work out of our Dupont Circle office. Send résumé, cover letter, and links to relevant online clips to jobs@reason.com. Also include three video pitches with stories that fit with our editorial vision, offer a unique angle on an important topic, and explain how you would go about making it.

Founded in 1968, Reason is an independent libertarian nonprofit journalism outfit covering civil liberties, politics, technology, culture, policy, and commerce.
