Truckdave_7 via Foter.com / CC BYIn Florida, a Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreation employee ran over three people lying on the beach at Crandon Park with his county truck. 3 People Run Over By County Worker At Crandon Park

    That's a funny headline - I would have expected to see that they were run over by a truck. This way, it almost sounds as if a county worker ran them over, as if it were the county worker with agency rather than that the running over was just some activity that occurred. You know, the way weapons discharge, resulting in a fatal wound, when officer-involved shootings occur.

    "I heard a woman screaming," said a witness and regular at the beach, who asked to remain unidentified.

    Seriously though -- there has to be more to this story. You don't have your legs run over by an F-150 and walk away with just bruises. Dollars to donuts they were horsing around and burying each other in the sand or something like that, so that the driver couldn't see them.

  • Fascist loofa-faced shitgibbon||

    You just explained it. They were on soft sand so they didn't take the full weight of the truck.
    I read the article and dollars to donuts the driver fucked up.

    are dollars to donuts like water to wine? a fucking miracle!

  • dantheserene||

    A miracle routinely performed at your local shop.

  • some guy||

    I'll bet dollars to donuts used to be a pretty serious bet, but now that donuts cost about a dollar it just means a friendly bet.

    To prevent this from happening again, they should permanently close the beach to civilians.

  • Rat on a train||

    A military only beach? Does that include veterans?

  • Fist of Etiquette||

    If they're not in blue they're civilians. Send a truck to clear. them. out.

    "They can use motorcycles, they can use other types of vehicles," said the witness. "These are F-150 trucks. They're heavy trucks."

    Segways and hoverboards didn't meet their needs.

    People get run over by lifeguards on 4 wheelers all the time but I don't think they usually take too much damage.

    Hey, no-one said that one was evil. We're just running on the assumption that that one was stupid. The spokesman who said this was "unfortunate", now that was the evil one.

    "A county spokesman described the incident as "unfortunate" but said the driver was only trying to let people know the park was going to close soon."

    The old "shit happens" defense. It... just... might.... work.

    but said the driver was only trying to let people know the park was going to close soon

    If only there was a better way to do that.

    The driver believes actions speaks louder than words.
