A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words
Long lines at gasoline stations are becoming more common in Zimbabwe, so a local newspaper sent an intern, Paul Greenway, to snap some photos of a line for gas. That didn't sit well with the two policemen who arrested Greenway. Greenway says he was never quite sure what he was charged with but acknowledges that he had not "requested permission from the government" to take pictures. The fact that he was working for a newspaper just made things worse. "We cannot ignore the relationship" to the news media, he was told. Fortunately, he was freed after a short time at the police station.
