All Green Thumbs
Before you snitch on a neighbor, take another look at the plant in his front yard. That's a lesson one of Blair Davis's neighbors should take to heart. Davis was at his home in Harris County, Texas, when 10 officers from the local narcotics task force burst in waving guns around and ordered him to lie down on the floor. It seems someone had reported that he had marijuana growing in his front yard. In fact, the plant was Texas star hibiscus. It sort of resembles marijuana, except for the white buds. That should have been readily apparent to the trained drug officers, but they spent an hour searching Davis's house, discussing whether the bamboo plants in his window were marijuana, and quizzing him about what he did with the watermelons and cantaloupes growing in his backyard.
