Dozens of teenage girls and young women were attacked by Iranian security forces when they protested a law banning females from attending soccer games. The law has been on the books for several years, but the government has been enforcing more strictly of late. The women had bought tickets to watch the national soccer team, but were turned away from the stadium. They quickly organized a protest, which was just as quickly broken up.
