Ronald Bailey: Economic Freedom Is Good for Women, Children, and Other Living Things
In a new study published in Contemporary Economic Policy, two of the authors of the Fraser Institute's annual Economic Freedom of the World Index set out to see how other researchers were using their work. Combing the academic literature they found 402 articles that use some aspect of the index. Their analysis of the articles concluded that economic freedom strongly correlates with lots of positive outcomes, and very few negative ones. In other words, reports Ronald Bailey, economic freedom is good for women, children, and other living things.
