Gunned Down

Alyssa Cornish is a straight-A student and a member of the student council at Santa Fe Trail Elementary School in Kansas. But the fifth-grader was suspended for three months after she and several other students were caught playing with an Airsoft pistol on campus, violating the school's ban on weapons. Cornish's mother says the other students, including the one who brought the gun to school, received much shorter suspensions. She says her daughter was punished more harshly because she admitted to playing with the gun.
