The Nebraska Supreme Court has removed North Platte County Court Judge Kent Florom from the bench after finding he used his office to improperly intervene in two cases. The cases involved a criminal charge against the coach of his daughter's youth softball coach and juvenile court case involving a shortstop on that team. Florom, who was an assistant coach on that team, also told a school board member who was a local attorney that he would be "making an enemy" if the board pursued action against the coach.
