It's in Their Genes

|

Great Britain's national DNA database has the genetic profiles of 4.2 million persons. One million of those people have never been convicted of a crime. When the database was set up, government officials said it would help solve crime. But on at least 25 occasions, information from the database – millions of genetic profiles – have been turned over to researchers, including those at private companies. Government officials contend that only the DNA, no information linking it to particular persons, was released.
