If It Looks Like a Prostitute
Lilis says she was just waiting for a taxi on her way home from work. But that was enough for the Islamic police in Tangerang, an Indonesian state that has adopted Islamic law, to stop her. When they couldn't reach her husband, they charged her with prostitution. Opponents say numerous women have been arrested by the Islamic police and charged with breaking a vague law that forbids any behavior that suggests prostitution.
