A Stone's Throw
Amnesty International says two women—Sadia Idriss Fadul and Amouna Abdallah Daldoum—have been sentenced by Islamic courts in Sudan to death by stoning for adultery. Neither woman was permitted a lawyer, says the human rights group, and their trials were conducted in Arabic, which is neither woman's first language. The male accused along with Fadul was acquitted for lack of evidence.
