Drugged Warriors

|

The German magazine Focus reports that the Nazis tested a cocaine-based pill on concentration camp inmates in hopes of coming up with a wonder drug to help win the war. The drug, code-named D-IX, also included amphetamine and a form of morphine, indicating Nazi intent to field a fully tweaked corps with a shelf life of, oh, about three days. Like many of those desperate Third Reich efforts, possibly including a time machine, the war ended before the plan could be executed.
