ICE

Brickbat: Cold as ICE

|

A man in Evanston, Illinois, was injured after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents mistakenly detained him because he resembled a man they were looking for. Both Evanston police and federal officials said the man was not their target and that agents later learned he is a U.S. citizen. Video taken at the scene shows ICE agents pinning him to the ground before releasing him and driving away, leaving him lying injured in the street. Bystanders tried to help, and police called an ambulance after the man reported injuries to his head, neck, and teeth. Police documented his injuries at the hospital and are investigating the incident.
