In Ottumwa, Iowa, U.S. Postal Service carrier Jill Ranae Brown has been charged with fourth-degree theft after investigators say she stole Menards rebates from the mail and redeemed them. The Wapello County Sheriff's Office began investigating after a customer reported that a Menards rebate had been stolen and later used at the Ottumwa store. Investigators, working with Menards and the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General, say they uncovered a pattern dating back to 2024 in which rebates mailed to customers were allegedly taken before delivery. They also say that Brown stole receipts that Menards had customers mailed in to claim rebates, and submitted them under her own name.

Raise the price of stamps to pay these poor people a living wage. Also, tf is Menards?

    1. SQRLSY   2 months ago

Menards is short-code for MenTards... Shit is twat women call men behind and be-ho their backs!

Ignore the drooling idiot, Menards is a hardware store.

      Also, tf is Menards?

Imagine a retail niche between Home Depot, Harbor Freight, and Costco that doesn't hate their customers. Selection at the lumber yard could be a bit better but for the price and service, no complaint here.

More relevantly, 11% mail-in rebates every month between March and November. Rebuilt our deck 2 yrs. ago, sticker price for materials was cheaper than Home Depot, ended up with almost $500 in rebates.

Probably my favorite part is that my MIL, and my FIL by proxy, hate them. Mrs. Casual *wants* to hate them and then I drag her along and she sees 1.5 lbs. of bacon for $7 (before the rebate).

But we're supposed to have unquestioning faith that postal workers will handle ballots without issues.

    1. Bill Poser   2 months ago

No, we're supposed to realize that even if a postal worker stole a ballot it would be difficult to use it for fraud.

      1. Don't look at me! ( Is the war over yet?)   2 months ago

Tossing it in the trash is fraud.

No, we're supposed to realize that even if a postal worker stole a ballot it would be difficult to use it for fraud.

        Riiiight.

"Financial Institutions Reported More Than $688 Million in Suspicious Activity in the Six Months Following FinCEN’s Alert on Mail Theft-Related Check Fraud"

And Postal employees charged in $24M stolen-check scheme.

If you really believe that stolen ballots are harder to use for fraud than bank checks, you are sorely, naïvely delusional .

So a raging Democrat union member postal worker who rolls up in their truck to a house with Republican signs in the yard, Dad in the front yard mowing the lawn in a MAGA hat, postal worker pulls the outgoing mail from the box, sees several ballots from the family. Stuffs them into a plastic trash bag. Repeats all day, then drops the bag of ballots into a bin at McDonalds when he stops for his break.

He doesn't need to USE the ballots for fraud.

Talk about a relatively low stake theft, seems incredibly stupid for rebates. I really miss Menards after moving out of the Midwest, they always had the craziest, unique junk food, and the electrical section was way better than the other big box hardware stores
