President Donald Trump gives a thumbs up on the South Lawn of the White House | Shawn Thew/UPI/Newscom
(Shawn Thew/UPI/Newscom)

Now come the hard parts: Figuring out the governance of the Strip. Rebuilding Gaza. Working out a deal regarding Hamas disarmament and Israeli presence in the region, plus figuring out how the terrorist group will be monitored to prevent future attacks down the road. Not to mention all those unemployed liberal-arts school keffiyeh protesters needing to get real jobs instead of shutting down the streets of major American cities.

Yesterday, as covered in Roundup, President Donald Trump delivered a victorious (and honestly rather good) speech to the Knesset, Israel's parliament, heralding the dawn of a new era following the return of the 20 remaining living hostages who had been taken by Hamas. The terrorist group is still looking for the remains of the 28 hostages they killed, to hopefully return the bodies to the families of those still grieving their loss. Meanwhile, 2,000 Palestinian prisoners were released back to the West Bank and to Khan Younis, in the Gaza Strip, to fulfill the terms of the deal. Many of those prisoners were taken due to their role in committing terrorist attacks. (Roughly 1,300 prisoners remain in Israeli custody.)

The Reason Roundup Newsletter by Liz Wolfe Liz and Reason help you make sense of the day's news every morning.

Trump deserves an awful lot of credit here—as do Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, who worked closely with senior Hamas officials to secure buy-in. This is a massive accomplishment that bears out why many people—some libertarians included!—have long perceived Trump to be a president who is oddly skilled at foreign policy and who is more prone to end conflicts or reduce American entanglement abroad than to further them. But there's still so much more to be worked out, which Trump alluded to when meeting with Middle Eastern leaders in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, last night to sort out Phase Two of the process.

"The main issue still hasn't been solved: Hamas's weapons," Akram Atallah, a London-based Palestinian journalist, told The New York Times. "The Israelis are demanding Hamas disarm, which is not a simple administrative measure. Hamas was founded on the basis of bearing arms." The most likely possible outcome looks like Hamas refusing disarmament, the Israeli military responding with some amount of continued surveillance and physical presence in the Strip, and some amount of conflict bubbling up sporadically.

There's also a high likelihood that other stakeholders will complicate negotiations: Egypt is concerned about its own domestic security as well as preventing an influx of refugees flooding over the border from Gaza. Saudi Arabia has voiced concerns about overstepping authority and violating Palestinian sovereignty—they seem to believe the Palestinian Authority, which is in charge of the West Bank, needs to assent to the new arrangement—or there essentially being a continuing occupation of the region (whether by Israel or by other peacekeeping/monitoring forces sent by other countries).

Scenes from New York: "Attorney General Letitia James of New York is expected to rebuke President Trump and urge voters to support Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic nominee for mayor, at a rally on Monday night," reports The New York Times. "It will be her first public appearance since she was indicted on federal charges of bank fraud and making a false statement." Of course, James is going to lean into the martyred-by-Trump thing. Naturally.

  • "In the short term we have to start stigmatizating the consumption of short form video the way we did with cigarettes," writes Freddie deBoer on Substack in response to a Jerusalem Demsas essay talking about how she'd easily fallen into the throes of TikTok addiction, watching 10 hours of short-form content per day at one point. "Beyond that, we need muscular policy. It's pointless to say 'just practice moderation!' when giant companies have spent billions to prevent their users from practicing moderation. These tech platforms are too ruthless and too effective to expect individual resolve to work at scale." I don't know if I agree with deBoer, but the idea of power users throwing their lives away via this type of addiction makes me rather sad.

    Thank You ICE

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested an illegal alien fugitive who was on the run from law enforcement in California and Texas, accused of two separate murders.

ICE agents arrested illegal alien Savin Seng of Cambodia on October 3, Breitbart News has exclusively learned, following a manhunt after he was accused of murdering a woman in Victoria, Texas.

Seng, a gang member affiliated with Asian Boys, was also wanted for the 2022 murder of a man outside of a Los Angeles, California, strip club.

    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2025/10/11/exclusive-ice-arrests-illegal-alien-fugitive-wanted-murders-california-texas/

I’m told that the Asian Boys is not a gang but instead just an idea.

          Sorry shrike.

Likewise the entire approach was different. Biden criticized Israel while trump defended them. Bidens entire approach was placating hamas.

Even Hamas leadership admits they were refusing due to the optics pushed by Biden against Israel lol.

Is the nature of the agreement the difficult achievement, or getting both sides to agree.

It's revealing left wingers choose to focus only on what presents their team as positive even when that issue is irrelevant. It shows they have no interest in who actually achieved what, their only interest is claiming credit.

I shed no tears for any CDC ex-employees. They shirked their duty as human beings, not just employees who were supposed to be safe-guarding the public health. It wasn't just the masking reversal and lies, or the social distancing which was pulled out of a hat for no reason except to look busy, or the lies about vaxing children, or the lies about elder morbidity.

It began much earlier with embracing ideological drama which had nothing to do with disease. Gun control comes to mind. They apparently had too much free time on their hand and had solved all the public health problems.

Good riddance. Next job, perhaps they should take their responsibilities a little more seriously and take offense at co-workers leeching off the public teat and besmirching their employer's reputation. Get rid of the rotten apples before they turn you into a rotten apple too.

            https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2020/06/04/public-health-protests-301534

“We should always evaluate the risks and benefits of efforts to control the virus,” Jennifer Nuzzo, a Johns Hopkins epidemiologist, tweeted on Tuesday. “In this moment the public health risks of not protesting to demand an end to systemic racism greatly exceed the harms of the virus.”

“The injustice that’s evident to everyone right now needs to be addressed,” Abraar Karan, a Brigham and Women’s Hospital physician who’s exhorted coronavirus experts to amplify the protests’ anti-racist message, told me. “While I have voiced concerns that protests risk creating more outbreaks, the status quo wasn’t going to stop #covid19 either,” he wrote on Twitter this week.

It’s a message echoed by media outlets and some of the most prominent public health experts in America, like former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention director Tom Frieden, who loudly warned against efforts to rush reopening but is now supportive of mass protests. Their claim: If we don’t address racial inequality, it’ll be that much harder to fight Covid-19.

the status quo wasn’t going to stop #covid19 either,” he wrote on Twitter this week.

This is an admission they always knew the closures were ineffective. In fact the closures were initiated because Dems understood it would destroy the economy and thereby ruin Trump's best re-election campaign issue. Millions of people's lives were significantly worsened so Dems could improve their chances at regaining power. And when it worked they used that power to encourage kids to cut off their genitals and hate their classmates due to their race.

              These people are real winners.

As if the social justice aspect of their cause shielded them from infection...it couldn't possibly be that among the younger crowds the protests drew, the risk of serious infection was already tiny...at the time the numbers were something like 40% of infected people don't have any symptoms...

            https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9092928/

There is an increased risk of SARS-CoV-2 transmission during mass gatherings and a risk of asymptomatic infection. We aimed to estimate the use of masks during Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests and whether these protests increased the risk of COVID-19. Two reviewers screened 496 protest images for mask use, with high inter-rater reliability. Protest intensity, use of tear gas, government control measures, and testing rates were estimated in 12 cities. A correlation analysis was conducted to assess the potential effect of mask use and other measures, adjusting for testing rates, on COVID-19 epidemiology 4 weeks (two incubation periods) post-protests. Mask use ranged from 69 to 96% across protests. There was no increase in the incidence of COVID-19 post-protest in 11 cities.

Not the first such lie, either.

      https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/chicago-ice-toddler-arrested/

Image of ICE arresting Chicago toddler isn't what it seems
The image circulated as an authentic depiction of a September 2025 ICE raid in Chicago.

The image circulating on social media was miscaptioned and did not depict a toddler being zip-tied by an ICE agent, though. The image was taken from a TikTok video posted on June 19, 2024, featuring a police officer jokingly arresting his toddler.

The original video came from an account called "YaFavoriteOfficer" and was marked with the hashtag "jokes" and a caption that read, "WHEN YOU CATCH HIM OUTSIDE AND HE SUPPOSED TO BE ON HOUSE ARREST ." It went viral at the time it was posted, garnering nearly 25,000 comments and over 1.5 million likes.

That’s about as good as the Democrats sharing a video of a 15 year old girl being arrested a year ago by local cops for public transit attacks and then claiming it’s iCE chasing her down recently.

It does not disqualify Christians from foster care. They disqualify themselves by wanting to engage in child abuse. Of course you would not send a trans kid to a foster house where the parents are openly hostile to them.

    Can't hate the media enough...

CNN's Christiane Amanpour says that the Israeli hostages were "probably treated better than the average Gazan since they are the pawns, the chips that Hamas had." Sure, Christine, rape, beaten forced to dig your own grave, murdered, but okay, that COULD be better than Hamas treated the average Gazan...

CBS's 60 Minutes...“Do you think they starved you or they just didn’t have food?” interviewer Lesley Stahl asked former hostage Keith Siegel.

    https://x.com/JewsFightBack/status/1906707517696348505

Lesley Stahl looked a Jewish hostage in the face—after being starved, tortured, beaten, and dragged through hell—and asked if maybe Hamas didn’t mean to starve him.

Maybe they just didn’t have food.

    Are you fucking kidding me?

Shame on 60 Minutes. Shame on CBS. And shame on every apologist who still can’t admit that Hamas is pure evil.

I'm unable to rightly comprehend the levels mindfuckery that could cause one to think could produce such stupidity.

They can't feed their own people, so they killed other people, took hostages, started a war, fed the hostages better than their own citizens, got more of their own people killed, and turned the hostages back over for more of their own people who've been in prison (and cared for) for years to... fix the food problem.

Kinda pushes towards the idea that we need to shoot people like Amanpour before their insanely destructive and dishonest stupidity spreads.

        https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/do-i-really-need-carry-green-card-me.html

U.S. Law Requires Lawful Permanent Residents to Carry Their Green Card

Immigrants who are 18 or older are required by law to carry their green card with them at all times. (See Section 264(e) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (I.N.A.).) It is considered official evidence of your LPR status, which you might need to show to U.S. immigration authorities.

If you, for example, decide to carry a copy of your green card instead of the original because you want to keep the original safe, you will be violating the law.

Penalties When Immigrants Fail to Carry Their Green Cards
Failing to have your green card with you is a criminal misdemeanor. If you are found guilty you can be fined up to $100 and put in jail for up to 30 days. (I.N.A. Section 264(e), 8 U.S.C. Section 1304.) A copy of your green card is not considered good enough, because the law does not use the word "copy" or refer to "other evidence" of LPR status.

For decades, a little-known provision of federal law has required adult non-U.S. citizens to “at all times” carry proof of registration. That mandate, long unenforced, is now back in use under a Trump administration policy directing agencies to “faithfully execute the immigration laws.”

    https://x.com/datarepublican/status/1977747923619488058?s=46&t=qeA47-JjK6vq0pfnxg60dA

THREAD: Meet the Organizers Behind No Kings protest: Indivisible’s Leah Greenberg & Ezra Levin

Taking a break from book writing for this...

This week, the movement that started with a Google Doc... Indivisible... is back in the streets. Founded by former congressional staffers Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin and funded by George Soros' Open Society network, Indivisible has grown from a viral guide into one of the most powerful grassroots networks in the U.S.

Now, they’re leading NoKings, a nationwide push to remind America that democracy means no one is above the law.

This thread dives into who Greenberg and Levin are, how Indivisible rose to prominence, and what’s really behind the “No Kings” movement.

As always, patience as I pull the thread together in real time.

When you go to the NoKings website, you'll find over a hundred partners listed, many of them familiar and many Soros-backed. They include big names closely tied to the DNC such as Marc Elias' Democracy Forward.

Greenberg and Levin are co-founders of Indivisible. Other than donor-advised funds, their backing primarily comes from Open Society and Fund for a Better Future. The latter is a shadowy nonprofit backed by Sergey Brin and played a key role in the infamous "Build Back Better" campaign of 2020.

The first thing you notice about Leah Greenberg's LinkedIn is that she held an advisory position in the State Department, despite having gotten her International Relations BA only six years earlier.

That Leah Greenberg once served in the State Department, was trained in foreign policy, and now leads the nation’s largest protests is no coincidence. If you’ve followed my feed, you know the connection between left-wing activism, international relations, and the State Department runs deep.

None of this is spontaneous. For years, subversive actors have worked to stage a color revolution here at home.

Greenberg appears to have been a Rosenthal fellow - literally groomed to be a key player in foreign policy early on. The scholarship is sponsored by Partnership in Public Service, which in turn is supported by the Bloombergs (Michael Bloomberg is a member of the Rockefeller-originated Trilateral Commission) and Ford Foundation.

Indivisible started out in 2016 as a Google Document led by Greenberg, Levin, and other Congressional ex-staffers. Within weeks, it went viral and money poured in, and they began organizing themselves into group quickly. They modeled themselves after the Tea Party.

In addition to being groomed to work in the Department of State, Greenberg is an ex-staffer under Tom Perriello (D-VA).

Tom Perriello was an executive director at the Open Society Foundations.

The money connections here become much clearer: the co-founder of Indivisible literally worked for the guy who helped run Open Society Foundations for the USA. No wonder she was able to amass massive amounts of funding and get organizational support in such a short time.

Evidence Pereillo and Greenberg have maintained a close relationship: Pereillo also served as Special Representative for the Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review at the State Department from February 24, 2014 to July 5, 2015 under Barack Obama. This overlaps almost exactly with Leah Greenberg's tenure on the same board.

Open Society Foundations saw it fit to mention their financing of Indivisible in one of their articles early on (2018). In writing for Columbia University's Journal of International Affairs about how Trump eroded democracy, they have a quote from Greenberg and Levin about Indivisible receiving funding from OSF.

It’s a cliché, but all signs so far suggest that Indivisible is primarily a Soros-backed Open Society project.

Ezra Levin, the spouse of Leah Greenberg, got his start as Deputy Policy Directer under Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-TX). He appears to serve as a charismatic face for Indivisible.

The most interesting connections are through Greenberg, but Levin's star is rising as well. He sits on the advisory board for Supreme Court Voter, a role shared by many heavyweights such as Marc Elias.

Alongside the Open Society Foundations, Democracy Alliance stands as the other major donor. Created by Rob Stein, also a backer of Media Matters, and closely tied to Arabella Advisors, Democracy Alliance draws its funding from twenty-five affluent progressive patrons, chief among them... George Soros.

As an aside, George Soros had long collaborated with the State Department since the 80's, but Bush’s handling of the Iraq War convinced him that the United States had become the greatest obstacle to realizing his vision of Open Societies.

I mark May 27, 2003 as the date when George Soros declared war on the United States.

Indeed, Indivisible, the leading organizer of these nationwide protests, is staffed with multiple Open Society-linked members, not just Leah Greenberg. Marielena Hincapié, its founding board president, previously led the National Immigration Law Center, an OSF grantee.

Heather C. McGhee, Indivisible Board member, also serves on the board of Open Society Foundations... and Rockefeller Brothers Fund, for good measure.

Tom Perriello himself became executive director of OSF in 2018, the same year that Indivisible started getting millions. He is also listed by KeyWiki as an Indivisible Civics Board Member, although I could not trace this.

Angel Padilla, former National Policy Director, was also hired off National Immigration Law Center (OSF-backed initiative which advocates radically expansionist immigration programs).

    CLOSING THE THREAD:

Twenty years ago, George Soros declared a mission to "open" the United States; AKA cleanse the USA of its attachment to traditions and faith. Since then, he's poured billions into formenting a color revolution -- the same playbook that got banned him from Hungary, Russia, and others.

The No Kings protest is just his latest front in his personal war.

Millions in Soros-aligned philanthropy have underwritten Indivisible’s rise from a viral Google Doc to a nationwide political engine.

Whatever the banner, the money and machinery behind the No Kings protest traces back to the same source: Open Society’s network of influence.

There is an account who won't allow me to reply accusing me of being a grifter because they think I'm implicating the wrong people instead of ex-USAID employees.

NED is *already* working hand-in-hand Soros via representatives such as Rachel Kleinfeld (as @SKDoubleDub33 is finding), Randi Weingarten (NDI; also was a spokesperson for the first NoKings rally), AFL-CIO (one of NED's four charter foundations; their local chapters organize many of the NoKings rallies alongside local Indivisible chapters).

Open Society has a decades-long history of formenting color revolutions alongside the State Department. There isn't a "bigger badder guy" than that particular hydra.

Surprise, surprise, surprise, it all leads back to our friend George Soros.

BTW, if you aren’t following Data Republican on X, I’d suggest doing so. She’s uncovered quite a bit and makes some pretty good connections just following the money.

"Egypt is concerned about its own domestic security as well as preventing an influx of refugees flooding over the border from Gaza."

Egypt is not stupid. It's 100% why the Egyptian border with Gaza is held as closely if not more so than Isreal's borders with Gaza. Egypt and Jordan make noise in public about if they let refugees in from Gaza, then Palestinians will be diluted and lose power. But they're not letting them in because Palestinians have a long history of fucking shit up. Jordan basically had to go to war against the PLO (Black September).

    More on Leah Greenberg.

    https://x.com/jameshartline/status/1977759899938693238?s=46&t=qeA47-JjK6vq0pfnxg60dA

Leah Greenberg is a long time George Soros puppet. She got her foot in the door in Congress working as an intern for then-Virginia Congressman Tom Perriello. Perriello was only a congressman for two years from 2009-2011, which means Greenberg would have only been 22-24 years-old at the time.

You will notice from screenshots 1 and 2 that Leah Greenberg worked for Humanity United which had extensive ties to USAID.

George Soros' Open Society announced on October 10, 2018, that Perriello would become executive director of the Open Society Foundations' U.S. Programs starting Nov. 12, 2018. Perriello left the position in 2023.

After losing his congressional seat, Perriello served as president and CEO of the Center for American Progress Action Fund and as a counselor for policy at Center for American Progress where he spoke out on issues of immigration reform, voting rights, inequality, and campaign finance reform.

In February 2014, John Kerry appointed Perriello the USAID-linked United States Special Representative for the Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review, serving until July 2015. From July 2015 to December 2016, he was Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region of Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Leah Greenberg also worked for USAID-linked Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review.

On February 26, 2024, Biden appointed Perriello as U.S. Special Envoy for Sudan. He resigned when President Trump was sworn in for his second term.

From 2002–2003, Perriello worked for the UN-mandated Special Court for Sierra Leone, where he eventually became special adviser to the prosecutor, David Crane. He has worked as a consultant to the International Center for Transitional Justice in Kosovo (2003), Darfur (2005), and Afghanistan (2007) where he worked on justice-based security strategies.

    And USAID-linked Humanity United.

    https://x.com/jameshartline/status/1977773781797249323?s=46&t=qeA47-JjK6vq0pfnxg60dA

This is the really dirty financials of USAID-linked Humanity United, the organization Leah Greenberg worked for as an investment manager prior to her insidious work with Soros-funded Indivisible.

Humanity United was founded in 2001 by far-left eBay founder billionaire Pierre Omidyar and his wife Pam as a part of their philanthropic, “social welfare,” and lobbying network. It became its own independent entity in 2008, and was established as a private foundation in 2016, at which time it ceased its lobbying and legal advocacy activities.

It is funded entirely by the Omidyar Group, a for-profit holding company established by the Omidyars as a part of a conglomerate of organizations that can be called the “Omidyar Nexus” that funds left-of-center causes and groups. It describes its two major issue areas as “Peacebuilding” and Forced Labor/Human Trafficking, but its grant recipients run from groups such as the Black Youth Project 100 to Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism.

Its Peacebuilding team has strategic “bi-monthly consciousness raising meetings” to shift their individual “biases and socialization.”  Humanity United previously donated between $17 and $18.8 million to grantees; this amount was later scaled back to around $6 million distributed to a pool of more than 50 grantees. It also has a sister lobbying and advocacy organization, Humanity United Action.

Human United is involved with and funds the most nefarious and scandal-ridden globalist NGOs.

You will notice in screenshots 1 and 3, Humanity United granted $5,000 to the satanic, anti-Christian, pornographic drag queen group Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Each year in San Francisco, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence host a blasphemous, pornographic "Hunky Jesus" contest on Easter Sunday where they mock Christians and Jesus being crucified on the cross. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are a far-left Marxist organization that is devoted to attacking Christianity, Catholicism and pro-family values. Many of their members wear cruxifices featuring Jesus hanging on a sex object and many of their members engage in witchcraft and satanism.

many people—some libertarians included!—have long perceived Trump to be a president who is oddly skilled at foreign policy

It's not odd. He's done it since the beginning (Kim of North Korea) and it's a standard carrot and stick, bully or be sweet, push pull method. Along with extreme practicality without ideology.

It only doesn't work with strong leaders who don't give a fuck if he's bluffing or serious, ignoring him and proceeding to do their own thing (Putin, Netanyahu).

Unfortunately, Bailey agreed-to-disagreed himself out of any credibility on this. He admits that anthropogenic global warming is a thing, and then suggested that it could be tackled with "technological innovations" which is exactly what has happened. Europe has shut down all its reliable forms of energy production in favor of all manner of technological innovations like wind, solar, unicorn farts, zero point energy, more testing, carbon sequestration, forced 'efficiency rules' (which don't improve efficiency, but only force everything to use 'less energy'). Literally none of these 'innovations' actually work-- and in almost every case, just make everything much worse.

That's why if you want a more forceful discussion about the European suicidal death spiral, you have to go elsewhere.

Instead, all we get here are "masks aren't mere talismans" "it's complicated" "more testing" and "why can't we just do a defundthepolice, but for zoning!"

Yeah. "Agreed to disagree with himself" is a good description of "With the advent of fake meat, ranch land can be returned to nature." No "Ranchers can put it to better use." or even "It can better contribute to solving other humanitarian problems." just straight up "I fucking love science so goddamned much that using it to obliterate every last trace of humanity's influence on any part of this planet or any other is a foregone conclusion."

If we could grow Immigrants in vats, we'd solve the problem of needing to find increasingly cheap labor!
