The Lie of the Year Was Joe Biden's Decline
It was the greatest cover up of presidential ability since FDR.

About last year: PolitiFact, the independent fact-checking website run by the Poynter Institute, bestowed another odious distinction on President-elect Donald Trump. The organization dubbed a statement uttered by Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance the "Lie of the Year."
You are reading Free Media from Robby Soave and Reason. Get more of Robby's on-the-media, disinformation, and free speech coverage.
PolitiFact has christened a Lie of the Year every year since 2009, and in only two of those years did statements made by Democrats earn the top prize. In 2011, PolitiFact slammed Democrats for claiming that Republicans would vote to end Medicare, and in 2013, the organization concluded that President Barack Obama's solemn promise—"If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan"—was plainly untrue. But in every other year, PolitiFact has singled out right-leaning purveyors of mistruths.
This year is no different. In 2024, PolitiFact's Lie of the Year is the claim by Trump that Haitian migrants in an Ohio town were "eating people's pets."
"With a brazen disregard for facts, Donald Trump and his running mate repeatedly peddled a created story that in Springfield, Ohio, Haitian immigrants were eating pet dogs and cats," observes the organization.
The Republican ticket's disregard for the facts in this case was indeed brazen. It was completely untrue that Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio, were eating people's pet dogs and cats. What happened was that various concerns about migrants supposedly hunting birds in public parks in Springfield, Ohio, got lumped together with an unrelated story of someone killing a pet cat in a completely different town. It's a textbook example of why you shouldn't automatically believe everything you see on social media. Trump and Vance did real harm here, and it's absolutely fair to call them out for smearing the immigrant population of Springfield, Ohio.
But was this really the Lie of the Year?
Liar, Liar
Given recent revelations about the extent to which President Joe Biden's cognitive decline was well-known to his staff—and covered up by them—at the very onset of his presidency, one might think that repeated statements to the contrary might be worthy of "Lie of the Year."
The lie, peddled at the behest of Biden's aides and advisers, and sold by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre to a gullible and incurious mainstream media, was that President Biden remained fit for office—and that mounting public concerns about his age-related decline were based on misinformation. Well before Biden's historic collapse at the June presidential debate, a majority of Americans expressed serious reservations about Biden's ability to serve. When reporters pressed Biden's media surrogates about these polls, they insisted that the supposed evidence of the president's decline was being fabricated by his political enemies. Jean-Pierre thunderously attacked conservative media, and Fox News in particular, for circulating what she described as misleading videos that appeared to show Biden out of sorts.
At the highest levels of the Biden administration, the official word was: Don't believe your lying eyes. And for the most part, the mainstream media bought it.
A recent report by The Wall Street Journal—which stands apart from other legacy outlets in having exhaustively investigated the lie—makes clear that Biden's aides were privately concerned about his age-related decline, not just in the final weeks of the 2024 campaign, but as far back as 2020. The Journal describes Biden being kept away from his Cabinet, and shielded from the American public, because he had both good days and bad, even at the start of his presidency. Aides realized he was often confused in the mornings, so they pushed meetings to later in the day. They also noticed he would lose focus if things went on for too long, so they instructed officials to keep briefings short.
This had real-world consequences. Rep. Adam Smith (D–Wash.) had concerns about Biden's planned withdrawal from Afghanistan, but couldn't get on the phone with him; the president was simply unavailable. It was a bad day, rather than a good day. The botched Afghanistan withdrawal would subsequently be considered one of the most damaging failures of Biden's presidency.
In hindsight, many news commentators now agree that Biden's cognitive decline was hideously underscrutinized. CBS News correspondent Jan Crawford admitted as much during a revealing panel on that network:
Jan Crawford: Most under-reported story "would be, to me, Joe Biden's obvious cognitive decline that became undeniable."
Duck chasing meme: WHY WAS IT UNDER-REPORTED?
— Matt Whitlock (@mattdizwhitlock) December 29, 2024
If anything, describing the story as "under-reported" is a considerable understatement. This was the greatest cover-up of a president's limitations since President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's reliance on a wheelchair. On the one hand, the media's complicity in that lie would seem almost impossible by today's standards of adversarial coverage; on the other hand, Biden proved that it's possible to keep them in the dark and keep them quiet.
For this reason, the fiction that Biden was capable of running for re-election and serving as president for four more years is undoubtedly deserving of Lie of the Year. No questions asked.

Worth Watching
It's taken more than a year, but I have finally finished Agatha Christie's entire Hercule Poirot catalog. I've listened to every single Poirot detective story, from The Mysterious Affair at Styles to Curtain: Poirot's Last Case, as audiobooks during my daily gym sessions. Having completed the collection, what I am experiencing is mostly a sense of loss: I feel as if a beloved friend has passed away.
I have come to treasure Poirot very dearly: his fastidiousness, his boastfulness, his disdain for other detectives who run about gathering clues. Poirot is in many ways the anti–Sherlock Holmes. He carries no magnifying glass and seldom examines footprints. His modus operandi is to interrogate suspects and use the "little gray cells" to deduce characters' motivations. This usually means that the solution to the mystery—typically revealed by Poirot, in grandiose fashion, during an assembly of all the major suspects—is likely to have been missed by the reader, though I did manage to guess the killer's identity in a handful of cases.
The three most famous Poirot novels are Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile, and The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. Orient is somewhat overrated, but the other two deserve their reputations. If you only read one Poirot novel, Death on the Nile is an excellent choice. (I solved it, to boot.) Ackroyd is a fan favorite, but is best consumed after having gained some familiarity with Christie's style; this makes the infamous plot twist in Ackroyd (don't Google it!) much more enjoyable.
A few others I really enjoyed were: Peril at End House, Murder in Mesopotamia, Appointment With Death, and After the Funeral.
As a new year begins, I have made it my 2025 resolution to be more like Poirot—to treat others with outstanding courtesy and kindness, to take pride in a job well done, and to better organize my life using order and method. I invite readers to do the same.

You're still wrong on the Springfield claims. Look into it more. It was certainly hyped beyond the evidence, but there is evidence available if one cares to look.
Hiding Biden's dementia is a failure of basically all news media throughout his entire administration. It wasn't just a single year of lies. It has been years of lying when evidence to the contrary has been abundant.
lie of the year 2025 "the talented staff of Reason TV"
Look into it more. It was certainly hyped beyond the evidence, but there is evidence available if one cares to look.
I looked and found nothing to confirm the Springfield Haitians eating pets claim. What did I miss? A single unconfirmed 911 call from an inidentified caller claiming to see migrants taking geese from a park that Jesse posted here months ago is the closest evidence I saw. All other claims of evidence seem to be rumors that cannot be traced back to the actual evidence. Unless you have the goods?
Still this lie is nothing relative to the sharp as a tack Biden lie/conspiracy.
I looked and found nothing to confirm the Springfield Haitians eating pets claim.
Followed by:
A single unconfirmed 911 call from an inidentified caller claiming to see migrants taking geese from a park that Jesse posted here months ago is the closest evidence I saw.
What level of confirmation are you expecting? DNA tests of migrants shit? There is also the testimony at the town hall which you ignore.
Then on the other side that it isn't happening you have.... government says it isn't happening.
I've also posted how cat eating is actually a tradition for some Haitians.
It isn't one witness of migrants taking ducks or geese from parks either, as seen at town hall.
The summation of your ask is to ignore eye witnesses and citizens, trust government.
Can I ask you what level of evidence government had before you believed them instead?
The rush to tell everyone that the 20,000 Haitians they had dumped on a town of 40,000 weren't doing what they traditionally do in Haiti and your a dirty racist for thinking otherwise, was one of the many reasons Trump won.
Calling it "lie of the year" when it was at least partially factual, and probably true in whole, just pissed a lot of undecideds off.
What level of confirmation are you expecting? DNA tests of migrants shit? There is also the testimony at the town hall which you ignore.
Something involving pets would be a start.
I haven't ignored the the town hall testimoney. I've addressed it many times here. It was just repeating the same rumor. No one was claiming first hand knowledge. Show me a town hall where someone says "I saw" or "my cat."
The government saying it's not happening doesn't necessarily mean it IS happening. We still need more than rumors and weak, tangential evidence to determine facts.
Were you one of the ones telling us that the animals being grilled in the photos were four-drumsticked chickens?
Not me. I can't tell what's in that picture. It might be cats, but at least one cat appears to have a wing though.
chickens or winged cat?
There's no wing in that video.
If you squint really hard while watching CNN you can see the wing.
When people eat mammals, they skin them because of the hair. Chickens on the other hand are relatively easily plucked, so we leave the skin on. So are those shaved cats?
As for the wing, what do you make of the part hanging off the front of the grill? What part of a shaved cat is that?
Do you think hunters take shavers out in their field kits or something?
That's my point. I would expect a cat on a grill would be skinned, which would have a more blotchy red/white meat/fat appearance.
How the hell can you tell on that video? Blotchy red spots aren't going to show up like extra legs.
Extra legs? Let's count...uhhh...How many cats are on the grill?
I'll also add the focus on the cat eating is a distraction quickly used to cover over the other issues in the community. Such as veterans and low wage workers being kicked out of housing to house gov subsidized migrants who take lower wages at the small number of factories in the town.
But keep focusing on the pet eating controversy instead. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It was funny as hell to hear the wailing of the asshole libs crying about this. It was funny to hear Trump say " They are eating the pets" in a debate. I don't really care if they ate any pets, but the large number of immigrants ( for whatever reason) in a small town caused problems and libs like our little QB can't have migrants of any kind spoken badly about without jumping in to defend them.
libs like our QB can't have migrants of any kind spoken badly about without jumping in to defend them.
I'm just interested in the truth, not keeping my head in the sand as long as a story supports my team.
Conservatives do themselves a huge disservice by embracing ridiculous claims like this. Like Jesse said above. "I'll also add the focus on the cat eating is a distraction quickly used to cover over the other issues in the community." He's right. And whose fault is that?
What's even worse though is your take: thinking, yeah, my side might be wrong or lying, but I'm OK with that because pwn the libs. What's wrong with a little lying to support the cause? The harm is lack of trustworthiness, just like the MSM has done and no one takes your wolf crying seriously.
I've acknowledged multiple times here that the huge influx of Haitians in one small town does cause real problems, but we focus on cat eating because MAGA's keep defending the story as true and that lets the other side brush away the real story with the bath water.
So then you agree that all the illegals should be deported?
Springfield claims are denied on the same basis as Colorado Springs having apartments taken over by Venezuelan gangs was. Ignore the citizens, trust government agents.
And the list of people who are complicit in that lie is too short. Kamala Harris was talking about how sharp and capable Biden was even AFTER his debate performance, mere days before he dropped out and she was nominated. Plenty of initial responses to the debate performance were trying to gaslight the public into denying that Biden was incompetent and senile, until they realized the public just wouldn't buy it anymore.
It's one of the most ridiculous and blatant lies of the past decade.
Technically, she might not have been lying.
He likely was far more sharp and capable than Kamala Harris. Few people are not. She JUST surpassed Carter yesterday in terms of competence to run the WH.
Biden did not drop out...he was dropped out in what can only be labeled as a coup. The only thing that didn't happen was Joe Biden's untimely death. If this sort of thing would have happened in any other country, there would have been bloodshed.
Tim Walz too. He met with Biden and declared him fit to serve.
And pretty much everyone knew he had dementia two years before he took office. It wasn’t a secret. Except to Robby and the Reason gang, apparently.
The difference was that in 2016, Biden could rest up and be drugged up and make it through a 45-minute public appearance reading the teleprompter and finding his own way offstage. In 2020, he was too far gone for anything to help.
The MAGA cult will believe anything that falls out of Trump's lying mouth. For nearly his entire first term, his lies were inconsequential, much like his totally unsupported lie about the (legal) immigrants in Springfield, OH. He lied about the number of people attending his inauguration, and about literally hundreds of other things that mattered very little, so he go away with it. His lie about the "stolen" election, though, is still treated as gospel by as many as 30 million Americans who cling to this belief, in spite of an absolute and complete absence of evidence. Debunked consistently, people keep resurrecting the old stories that make no sense and can't be proven. Trump-appointed judges threw his many cases out of court, and not a single one of those cases bore any resemblance to the wild lies spread about by his cult members. This was a lie of great consequence, and it has taken an already divided nation and driven a permanent wedge into our society. I voted for the man twice, but I just couldn't look past this, the worst lie in political history. So no, the Springfield lie, while based on nothing but a wisp of a rumor, was of little consequence and is, by any measure, the Lie of the Year. Lies of consequence, like the "stolen" election, and the lie that was supported even by the media that Biden was in full command of his faculties, are lies of consequence, and merit all the disdain and ridicule they have received.
...in spite of an absolute and complete absence of evidence.

Everything you said is bullshit. Just your claims, based on democrat fan fiction. Not a shred of evidence to back it up. As usual.
You can fuck off back to WaPo now.
BeHahahahahhahaha!!!!!
HhhaahahHah!!
*check out this guy!*
AaahahHAhAaaAHHAHAHA!!!
Run along little Marxist DNC shilly!
Oh man, thanks for making yourself a laughing stock for the MAJORITY of Americans!
That was awesome *wipes tears from eyes*
Thanks for the laugh
Look at the conspiracy theorist.
The decline was obvious in 2020 to anyone with an objective sense. Yet reason still primarily endorsed him.
Wonder if you guys will self reflect on your reliance on so much of corporate media narratives. I have zero hope for JS, ENB, KMW, and a few others. You have a chance Robby.
Yeah the lie only matters if you believe it. Joe Biden's incompetence and corruption have been on full display for decades. But Reason libertarians decided he was the senile adult we needed in the room. I don't know why Robby always gets a pass here. He suddenly realizes what we all knew 10 fucking years ago? That's some solid journolism right there.
Yes and fuck yes.
1. It wasn't "the lie of the year", it was the "lie of the last 5 years".
b: Did Reason's most "undercovered stories" include that in their list? I didn't listen to the podcast.
It's not even a lie really at this point. Almost an ongoing or perpetual, cultural, Clouseau-esque, aloof, accidentally-forward-stumbling, blatant incompetence.
Commissioner: Are you saying that this man, the man Maria Gambrelli is protecting, her former lover, killed eight people because he was jealous?
Clouseau: Insanely jealous.
Commissioner: So jealous he made it look like Maria Gambrelli was the murderer?
Clouseau: He's a madman, a psychotic.
Commissioner: What about the maid?
Clouseau: The maid?
Commissioner: Was he jealous of her, too? He strangled her.
Clouseau: It's possible that his intended victim was a man and he made a mistake.
Commissioner: A mistake? In a nudist camp?
Clouseau: Nobody's perfect.
It's not even a lie really at this point. Almost an ongoing or perpetual, cultural, Clouseau-esque, aloof, accidentally-forward-stumbling, blatant incompetence.
Agree to disagree. Unless what you mean is they executed an active coverup-- incompetently.
Unless what you mean is they executed an active coverup-- incompetently.
A series of them spanning, to this point, nearly a decade with multiple people in the lead role of incompetent, upward-failing stumbling boob.
MSM is DNC propaganda - they weren’t fooled - they ARE active participants.
I miss the old days (pre-2016), when I used to have basic arguments if there even WAS bias in the MSM - ahh simpler times. (For funsies, YouTube ‘media bias’ and watch videos from prior to Trump - it’s almost comical watching CNN videos ‘some say the media is biased - here’s what CNN found’ just denying their own bias.)
Now they’re just raging Marxist DNC mouthpieces, who deserve all the righteous ridicule they receive via Conservative YouTubers and podcasters.
Well, it got exposed beyond the ability for the administration and their media allies to obscure, deflect, and deny it anymore, this year.
Yeah they've been telling it for 5+, but now it's politically and socially acceptable to call them out on it, in the face of live-broadcast, widely-viewed, direct evidence that they have been, in fact lying.
My choice for 'lie of the year' might be the people in the press and the administration, who decided to pivot to the line that his mental decline was somehow 'sudden'. We have evidence to the contrary from before the 2020 election, at the start of the administration, and continuing throughout.
Does Politifact award retroactive prizes? Asking for thousands of COVID pandemic officials and just about all eco-grifting watermelons (but especially climate catastrophists).
The Lie of the Year Was
Joe BidenThe DNC-eGOP-Media Complex's DeclineThey made the exact same mistake with Joe that they made with RBG. They pulled the exact same stunt with Trump that they pulled with Thomas and Kavanaugh. Their insane, non sequitur, oxymoronic, false-moralizing, "Gender is a spectrum with non-birthing males as a singular evil." schtick is so threadbare that even non-English-speaking LatinX immigrants snigger at it and pull the lever for someone else.
True believers just try harder.
If your beliefs are wrong, redefine the words until the redefinition makes you right. The dem/jeffsarc method.
Media: "Nuh uh! We didn't lie about anything!"
John Hasson
@SonofHas
Matt Yglesias just adopted the Tim Walz excuse: “I’m not a liar, I’m just stupid”
Yglesias: I thought Joe Biden was going to prove his doubters wrong at the big debate. I know that ever since that humiliation, the whole world thinks the entire media was in on a massive coverup, but the fact is many of us (and seemingly many members of his team) genuinely thought the situation was better than it was." He continued, "In a lot of ways it’s more embarrassing to have been gullible and wrong when so many people with no sources and no inside info could see it clearly, but that’s what happened — I was just wrong about one of the big questions of the year."
We all, with the exception of Reason editors, knew that Matt Yglesias is stupid. Sad that he was the last to know. The odds are he will only get stupider as time goes by.
So he is too stupid to recognize what is plain as day but we should trust him to get anything right in his articles? I'll pass and pass on anyone like ENB that trusts his intellect and takes.
Yglesias missed Biden being escorted away by the Easter Bunny? Missed Joe shaking hands with the air? Missed Joe falling repeatedly on the stairs to AF1? Missed Joe's numerous other gaffs?
Yglesias is a moron.
It’s not just that the Marxist DNCPropaganda MSM press ‘was geeked’ by Bidens staff; but they aggressively berated, shamed and demeaned anyone claiming otherwise.
Remember “cheap fakes” and Joe Scarborough “if you can’t handle the truth than FUCK YOU”.
Telling the Truth was considered hate speech - how many times was Big Tech busted literally stopping us from telling the Truth? Countless.
The DNC MSM didn’t get fooled - they ACTIVELY performed propaganda. Big Tech didn’t succumb to Biden censorship pressures - they were complicit and colluded in their participation.
That’s why I’m fine bringing charges against these people (who did the same to the other side!) who now want to claim “ignorance” - I call BS.
I think Yglesias is lying, and he knew all along what Biden's cognitive condition was, and is a shill for Team D.
Hope he is a more honest Father to his own kids than he was to readership.
That is dumb to say. His educational record is apalling. His lies are legion. My best example is the many Delawareans who thought he had his first wife murdered. I don't know. But what kind of man must you be for that to even be believeable
Biden proved that it's possible to keep them [MSM/ legacy media] in the dark and keep them quiet.
Bullshit; they have their team and reported on it exactly how they wanted to. Now like Russian collusion and the origin of COVID, they are going to dissemble and cry "well ain't that a shame" and just hope it goes away as old news that only some bitter and conspiracy loving MAGAlodyte would love. Taking responsibility for any obvious lying would only serve to hasten their decline.
“Russia Hoax” implies there was something funny about it - “Russia LIE” the MSM perpetuated.
SNOPES & PolitiFact still ranking it; “Mostly False, needs context” lol
"He has more good days than bad ones so it's mostly false."
If he could just remember the context it would be mostly false. Where's Jackie? She would know where the context is.
You are a lying dog faced pony soldier. We can only resolve this with a push up contest. If you think I'm kidding just ask Korn Pop. I kicked his ass behind the bleachers while my uncle was being eaten by cannibals. Nobody fucks with a Biden. In fact the kids all gather round to rub our hairy legs. True story.
The most powerful man on Earth actually said all of these things. While he was president. And Reason / the other liberal press didn't see this as disqualifying.
Still begs the question that nobody wants to answer: who is running the country?
Jill and the West Wing staff.
The Star Chamber at Davos, through their minions in Aspen?
Lex Luthor?
The original, 1951 UNIVAC 1 computer.
I thought we were an autonomous collective?
To be fair to PolitiFact, "Joe Biden isn't senile" probably should have been the Lie of the Year for 2020. They've been telling that lie for at least six years.
Also, PolitiFact is a DNC party organ just like Media Matters, so why are we surprised that they are advancing party narratives?
"We" aren't. Certain liberal news outlets are, or are at least claiming to be retroactively.
the media's complicity in that lie would seem almost impossible by today's standards of adversarial coverage
Talk about begging the question. By no definition of the word are members of the mainstream media Biden's adversaries. Not only are most actively allied with progressivism, they are also active in the smear of all contrary information.
Fortunately, these same individuals and organizations spent the last eight years, and will no doubt spend the next four, demonstrating they are completely unfit for the role of the media in a free society. They become more irrelevant each passing day.
I'll also note FNC has routinely and consistently brought up how terrible Biden seems to be when doing any public event. They have shown, over and over, the videos of him shaking hands with nobody, making idiotically stupid comments, etc.
CONSERVATIVE media noted the problem from the word go.
Just as they pointed out how absurd the Russia hoax shit was from 2017 - 2019.
...also impressed that "I am not going to pardon Hunter" did not make that list...
You mean the cheap fakes, not videos.
That the media ran with that --- and people need to remember that they HAPPILY ran with that and did not question anything --- should disabuse Robby of the notion that the majority of the press is anything but Democrat activists.
Right before the debate FOX did a piece on Joe wandering off at a photo op while every other "news" org was calling the exact same video a "cheap fake" and yet Robbie is surprised the willing accomplices pretended to never notice. This is just the next phase of the gaslighting.
Let's be real for a moment:
The ONLY reason the media is discussing this AT ALL is to feign that they have legitimate critiques of Trump, which they will opine on, ad infinitum, for his entire second term.
This is a pathetic attempt at reclaiming legitimacy.
Well, they ARE legitimate if only in their own minds ...
Joe Biribem is going to award Lizzard Chaney a presidential medal.
It was told that Joe intends to make her part of his new administration.
The Nobel Peace prize commision is planning to award Joe Biden this year's Peace Prize for his great work in the middle east and Afghanistan in particular. He will be among the other notable greats such as Henry Kissinger and Barack Obama.
BTW the above Nobel Prize part is only fictional but on the other hand could actually become factual. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Only 18 days left until the nig event, that is unless there are more terrorist attacks and maybe a few extra pandemics that will require stringent lockdowns and postponement of the Trump inauguration. who knows, maybe another attack on New York City or maybe Springfield , Ohio.
I forget who made the claim, but there was a guy out there saying there would be 1000 politically involved deaths between the election and May. I think the counter is up to around 50 right now.
At this point in time, expect anything could happen.
Coup? Junta? Assassination?
All out banana republic. I expect any day to wake up to a total news blackout and the disappearance of the president and vice president elects, along with anyone else as necessary. And of course martial law.
We will be told that democracy has been saved.
And to think I used to think such persons who even entertained such thoughts as being unhinged and or just nuts.
Given the aptitude of the current administration, any coup they try would make South Korea's ongoing brouhaha look downright Machiavellian.
Under no circumstances should Trump return to New York for sentencing in the hush money farce. He would never leave alive.
Trump should hire private body guards who take precedence over the Secret Service and give then great latitude in preventing encounters with potential hazards. The SS hierarchy is not trustworthy.
I nominate "PolitiFact, the independent fact-checking website run by the Poynter Institute," as the Reason Magazine Lie of the Year.
I second that nomination +10000000.
Since 2015, the Poynter Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Journalism has been awarded by the Poynter Institute. Winners include:
2015: Bob Schieffer, former CBS News anchor and host of Face the Nation[35]
2016: Tom Brokaw, former anchor of NBC Nightly News[36]
2017: Judy Woodruff, anchor and managing editor of PBS NewsHour[37]
2018: Lester Holt, anchor of NBC Nightly News and Dateline NBC[38]
2019: Katie Couric, broadcast journalist, author and media entrepreneur[39]
2020: Chris Wallace, anchor of Fox News Sunday[40]

2023: Anderson Cooper, broadcast journalist and political commentator for CNN[43]
2024: Robin Roberts, co-anchor of ABC's Good Morning America[44]
Hmm. And every single one completely irrelevant.
"Lie of the Year. No questions asked."
Ha, ha! I get it ... "no questions asked!" Hahahahaha
"The Murder of Roger Ackroyd"
Sorry, but Roger is only famous because of the famous article, "Who Cares Who Killed Roger Ackroyd?" (google it ...)

PRESENTATION PARADOX - Reports that defy the accepted media narratives
NBC News dispelled the claims of Haiti having cannibals by pointing out that Republicans are focusing on the gangs that are eating people, including one dubbed “The Cannibal Army”.
In order to counter the developing news of Joe Biden’s mental condition being exposed the NY Times declared that the real problem is that this reality will be feeding directly into the conservative conspiracies about his mental condition.
After Donald Trump’s work at a McDonald’s, Brian Stelter said two days later the only reason it was still a story was due to conservatives making it an issue. He had to be shown all of the news outlets still reporting on it, including CNN.
After the election the masterminds at The Bulwark were so concerned with Trump ruining the nation by becoming authoritarian. The solution, according to these wizards, was for Biden to make authoritarian moves to prevent Trump authoritarianism.
WINNER - Linda Qiu, NEW YORK TIMES
In an effort to disprove a Fox News report that there were tens of thousands of missing immigrant minors the paper declared this was entirely misleading. They went on to explain these kids are not missing, they are simply unaccounted for. “These children were not “lost,” though the report chided immigration officials by noting that without an ability to monitor the location of the children, they were more susceptible to “trafficking, exploitation or forced labor.”
LOW OCTANE GAS LIGHTING - Noting completely fabricated news items
At CBS News Weijia Jiang was part of the Biden Defense Team, beating back the Robert Hur report. Jiang stated Biden was sharp and recalled the exact date his son died. The problem was her own network debunked her claim.
MSNBC fraudulently edited a clip from the Joe Rogan Experience where he was praising Tulsi Gabbard, claiming he was endorsing Kamala Harris.
Dana Bash attempted a slam by editing a video clip of Elon Musk to claim he was saying the bombings of Japan were a favorable event.
CBS News reported that FEMA had rescue workers kept at safe locations because there are bands of militias targeting them in North Carolina. The North Carolina NAtional Guard disavowed that any such threats were taking place.
WINNER - Jeffrey Goldberg, THE ATLANTIC
The Executive Editor of the outlet published a completely debunked report, based on anonymous sources, claiming Trump vulgarly insulted a fallen soldier in racist fashion to refuse paying for funeral costs. People named at that meeting came forward to deny any of it was accurate, as well as the family of the soldier, and their lawyer. When called out for this, Goldberg called those in attendance liars, and dismissed the words of the Gold Star family in rude fashion.
Jeffsarc believed all of these.
When called out for this, Goldberg called those in attendance liars, and dismissed the words of the Gold Star family in rude fashion.
The anti-parallels between this an Alex Jones are astounding.
it wasn't a Cover-Up. nothing was not exposed.
The Haitian thing was so absurd that it did not even qualify as a lie! Nor will Trump's preparing to attack Denmark to steal Greenland qualify. Anyone who has not learned Trump's style by now should recuse themselves from politics. Yes, Trump says outrageous things, but no one should take them as promises or factual. Remember what Kellyanne Conway told us a long time ago, i.e., Trump has his own Alternative facts. There are fact, lies, and Alternate Facts.
Do I like Trump's Alternative Facts? No, but I've learned to live with them and focus on substance.
"It was the greatest cover up of presidential ability since FDR."
WRONG! It was much greater.
The President works from his desk. FDR's inability to stand or walk unassisted had no effect on his ability to act as the President. It might have cost him some votes if he'd revealed it and campaigned for election and reelection from a wheel chair, but that's just stupid and prejudiced voters. There was nothing wrong with his mental state (other than being a dupe of the socialists, like more than half of his party).
The cover-up of Biden's mental condition happened every day, while FDR only faked standing up for public appearances - but didn't have to limit his public appearances to only a few per year, or take high doses of medication to speak in public for a few minutes without showing his senility. Biden strictly limited meeting with anyone outside the inner circle; AFAIK, FDR kept a normal and busy schedule of meetings with Congressmen, Senators, and other important people in his office, where the only fakery was transferring him to a normal office chair and taking the wheelchair out of sight before admitting the visitors.
And most of all, Biden was and is NOT COMPETENT to act as President. It's questionable whether understood what he signed or the press releases issued in his name. And if a crisis had hit at bed-time, the USA would not have had a President to act on it.
Unlike when Woodrow Wilson was ill and incompetent and his wife concealed this and did his job for the last months of his administration, there now is a Constitutional procedure for replacing a living but incompetent President in the 25th Amendment. But Biden's "advisors" chose to ignore that and keep him propped up as a puppet - giving them power the voters would never have elected them to. If they could have found a less-than fatal drug dose that got him through the debates, they'd even have run him for a second term. These power-mad behind-the-scenes leaders of the Democratic party became enemies of the USA!
"The President works from his desk. FDR's inability to stand or walk unassisted had no effect on his ability to act as the President..."
That's not the one in question; it's his MD claiming he was in good health during the entire last campaign, while he was circling the drain. A vote for FDR was a vote for Trueman, and the voters had that hidden from them.
"The Lie of the Year Was Joe Biden's Decline. It was the greatest cover up of presidential ability since FDR."
...not to mention Woodrow Wilson's physical decline which was conveniently covered up.
It won't be the lie of the century. The global warming hoax has that one covered, but it will be at least the lie of the decade, and in a hundred years, when the global warming hoax has been conveniently sent the way of eugenics, phrenology and alchemy, it will be the one big lie that goes down in history as the big lie.
We could also nominate the Covid 19 hoax.
Up next ....the bird flu hoax.
Followed by .....more lockdowns and forced vax.
"It was the greatest cover up of presidential ability since FDR."
His personal MD was covering for him the entire campaign and should have been court-martialed.
Wait, are we pretending the DNC, DNCMedia or DNCEcONoMIsTs did not see VP Biden shaking down Ukrainian officials (for his crack kids cash operation) on video for all to see before the 2020 election?
Methinks all this “I’m just a knucklehead”, “it’s a deapfake” are positioning to blame Biden’s dementia for selling the U.S. to the highest bidder / UN since VP.
This is what real, organized election interference looks like.
We’re all just knuckleheads, we never noticed the VP shakedown video
It would have been harder to impeach Trump if they had to acknowledge it actually happened.
Going through news outlets ( alternative news) this morning and one suggested Biden's face indicated several small injuries including a lip and above one eye. Did he fall down the stairs?
Biden is obviously worse off than before and will only continue his downward spiral into oblivion. No matter how much Adderall they manage to shove into him, he's still going to end up like a turnip.
Hell, he's close to that now.
Let's hope he keeps breathing until Jan 20, otherwise Kamala will be able to do all sorts of damage.
I wouldn't watch CNN for such a long time that when I resumed occasionally tuning in this past year I noticed a bizarre new trend -- dialing down the blatant political program by asking questions from irrelevant or bizarre angles.
The result is almost always a pointless detour or digression that doesn't acknowledge the basic story. Still, there were several occasions when a guest completely resisted the attempted hijacking, and left the questioner stunned and silent... and moving on to the next unprofessional question.
At the highest levels of the Biden administration, the official word was: Don't believe your lying eyes. And for the most part, the mainstream media bought it.
I doubt the mainstream media believed the obvious White House lies -- but they did actively help sell it.
George Washington:"I cannot tell a lie". Donald Trump:"I cannot tell the truth". Joe Biden:"I cannot tell the difference".
