What's in an apostrophe, anyway? Last night, President Joe Biden called all of Donald Trump's supporters "garbage." Or did he?

The much-debated gaffe came during a Zoom call between Biden and the progressive group Voto Latino. The president's alleged insult of all Trump supporters came as he was criticizing comedian Tony Hinchcliffe for calling Puerto Rico a "floating island of garbage" during Trump's Madison Square Garden rally held this past weekend.

A clip of the president's remarks seems to record a rambling Biden saying "The only garbage I see out there is his supporters…his…his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it's un-American."

WATCH: President Joe Biden: "The only garbage I see floating out there is [Trump] supporters." pic.twitter.com/9teSUOytqC

— Steve Guest (@SteveGuest) October 30, 2024

Reporters' immediate coverage of the comments also records Biden saying "supporters."

Pres. Biden tonight:

"Donald Trump has no character. He doesn't give a damn about the Latino community…just the other day, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage?…The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters."

— Gabe Gutierrez (@gabegutierrez) October 29, 2024

Immediately, conservative journalists and Trump himself seized on the comments as an inappropriate demonization of Republican voters. They were quick to draw parallels to Hillary Clinton's infamous "deplorables" insult from the 2016 campaign trail.

In reaction, the White House released a transcript that recorded Biden as saying "supporter's" singular, not "supporters" plural. The president's "garbage" barb was directed only at Hinchcliffe, and not Trump voters writ large, they argued.

Biden tonight in condemning the joke about Puerto Rico.

"The only garbage I see floating out there is his [supporters/supporter's]–his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it's un-American."

The WH says Biden was talking about the comedian—"supporter's"

The clip: pic.twitter.com/F7VRcyBFJu

— Alex Thompson (@AlexThomp) October 30, 2024

Biden's true remarks quickly became the ultimate partisan Rorschach test.

Liberal commenters insisted that Biden had obviously said "supporter's." As evidence, they pointed to the succeeding sentence in which Biden said that "his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable." The singular "his" is proof that Biden's "supporter's" comment was also a singular reference to Hinchcliffe.

Seems very clear from context that Biden was trying to call Hinchecliffe "garbage" - that he was saying "supporter's" possessive, not "supporters" plural

— Zack Beauchamp (@zackbeauchamp) October 30, 2024

Conservatives were not buying this at all, deriding Biden and the White House's hurried explanations as a rushed spin that asks you to not believe your lying eyes and ears.

Bullshit. He called half of you garbage.
Either because he meant it, or because he's senile.
Or both. https://t.co/8objkJSvfu

— Tim Carney (@TPCarney) October 30, 2024

As a dedicated nonvoter, I'm happy to accept that either interpretation of Biden's remarks is plausible. From just listening to the clip, and not the subsequent arguments about it, it does in fact sound like the president is referring to all Trump supporters. But the White House's subsequent explanation isn't totally unbelievable either.

My main takeaway from the controversy is that I can't wait for this election to be over. The polls are incredibly close and emotions are running high. In this context, everything feels like it matters a lot, including an elderly, rambling Biden's precise placement of apostrophes.

The closer we get to Election Day, the more people are going to zero in on every insult, real or perceived, and every gaffe, actual or just alleged. Once we know who the next president will be, perhaps the nation's political debate can slightly refocus to more substantive issues of policy and the size and scope of government. (That's my naive hope anyway.)

Closing Arguments: Gliding over these petty controversies last night, or at least attempting to do so, was Vice President Kamala Harris herself.

Just outside the White House, where inside communications staffers were hurriedly copy editing Biden, Harris held a rally where she made her closing pitch to America's undecided voters.

The Democratic nominee did her best to strike a unifying nonpartisan note while also amping up the alleged stakes of this election.

"This election is more than a choice between two parties and two different candidates. It is a choice about whether we have a country rooted in freedom for every American. Or one ruled by chaos and division," said Harris, who made heavy references to the chaos of January 6, while repeating some stock biography about her middle-class upbringing.

Harris sounded hawkish notes on foreign policy and the border, promising to pass a border security bill and guarantee America has "the strongest, most lethal fighting force in the world."

On the economy, she promised to expand Medicare benefits and tax credits for families, crack down on "price gouging," and, interestingly enough, work to liberalize housing regulations.

"We have heard excuses about why America can't build enough housing. Enough with the excuses. I'm going to cut red tape and work with the private sector and local governments to speed up building and get it done," said Harris.

A politicized attack on the website formerly known as Twitter? Earlier this week, the Republican-controlled House Judiciary Committee released a report detailing the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) allegedly politically motivated crackdown on Twitter immediately after Elon Musk bought the social media site (that's since been renamed X).

For years prior to Musk's acquisition of the site, the FTC, under its progressive chairwoman Lina Khan, had been hashing out a consent decree with the company that would require Twitter to turn over certain requested information.

#NEWS: Judiciary Republicans release report on how the Biden-Kamala Harris FTC continues to harass @elonmusk.

Read it here: https://t.co/51rdcb9Fuy pic.twitter.com/Q3aOLehHfM

— House Judiciary GOP ???????????????????????? (@JudiciaryGOP) October 28, 2024

The Judiciary Committee found that FTC rushed to finalize this consent decree, citing Musk's pending takeover as the reason for the hurry. In the first three months after Musk bought Twitter, the FTC sent the company 350 demands for information and documents.

Many of these demanded documents fell outside the scope of the consent decree, says the Judiciary Committee's report, which accuses the Biden-Harris administration of "weaponizing" the FTC against Musk.

Scenes from D.C.: About a mile from Harris' White House rally, another intense race was playing out. That would of course be the 37th Annual 17th Street High Heel Race in D.C.'s historic gay neighborhood of DuPont Circle.

Drag queens sprinted down the closed-off street, while less elaborately costumed revelers cheered them on.

    Yes, he fucking did.

    1. mad.casual   7 months ago

I like to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. We’re being led by someone so incoherent that nobody’s really sure if he called half the electorate garbage or not (presumably the same half the threatened to air strike) and the people running the country in his place decided to hang it all on the smallest punctuation mark they could find and then call it a day.

One more step back: Why is Joe Biden even talking to Voto Latino at all? Is he running for office?

      1. Don't look at me!   7 months ago

Even with his dementia, he knows Kamala will be a total disaster, so he steps on her toes as often as he can. Plus he’s pretty pissed off he got tossed aside.

        1. Chumby   7 months ago

Biden should be thrilled to have Kamala elected. As horrible as the Biden regime has been, it hasn’t reached the bottom. Biden doesn’t need to run faster than the lion, his steaming pile of shit just needs to be less stinky than Kamala.

          1. Ghatanathoah   7 months ago

How exactly has Biden's regime been horrible? He fixed the economy after Trump blew it up in 2020. The Federal Reserve under Biden was able to stop all the inflation that Trump caused. He shattered the power of the woke left in the Democratic party.

Anyone who has an investment portfolio can just look at it and notice that it's been going up steadily under Biden. The economy is great. Unemployment is really low. Wokeness is retreating, after growing in power under Trump.

I only have two major criticisms of Biden. One is that his spending plan in his first year was so big that it made Trump's inflation even worse, but the Fed corrected that. Also, he could have torn into wokeness even harder than he did.

            1. Zeb   7 months ago

Yeah, dude. Trump blew it up. There was nothing else going on in 2020.
I'm no fan on Trump's handling of covid stuff. But he had very little control over the batshit insane spending or governors shutting down economic activity.

    3. Moonrocks   7 months ago

Biden’s statement was vague and muddled, which means he obviously didn’t call half the country “garbage”. This is unlike Trump’s very clear and unambiguous statement that neo-nazis “should be condemned totally”, which meant he was obviously praising neo-nazis.

LOCKLAND, Ohio -- The mayor of a small village near Cincinnati says he needs help from the federal government after a surge of illegal immigration primarily from Mauritania that nearly exceeds the local population and that he says is "unsustainable."

"Our county officials estimate that we have around 3,000 of those that have come to a village of 3,420 residents. And our complaint is, if the federal government is going to have an open borders policy, with that they need to have a policy directing these immigrants to communities that can absorb that kind of population increase," Lockland Mayor Mark Mason told Fox News Digital.

Colorado Secretary of State posted spreadsheet with voting system passwords

The Colorado Secretary of State’s Office inadvertently posted a spreadsheet to its website with a hidden tab that included voting system passwords.

In a statement to 9NEWS, a spokesperson for the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office said that “the Department is working to remedy this situation where necessary.”

“The Department took immediate action as soon as it was aware of this and informed the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), which closely monitors and protects the county’s essential security infrastructure,” the spokesperson said.

On Tuesday morning, Colorado Republican Party Vice Chair Hope Scheppelman shared the hidden tab discovery in a mass email, along with an affidavit from someone who claims they had downloaded the Excel file from the Colorado Secretary of State’s website and discovered the hidden tab by simply clicking “unhide.” The name on the affidavit was blacked out in the Republican Party email.

Mika goes over the edge...How does this even make sense? What power does Trump hold over Bezos that would account for this?

    --------------

"It doesn't feel like a mistake to me, I'll take that as my words," co-host [MSNBC host Mika] Brzezinski quickly chimed in. "I know you call it a mistake, a big mistake."

"Why?" a seemingly startled [former Washington Post journalist Bob] Woodward replied.

"Well, the statement that Jeff Bezos put out conflicts with the statement the Washington Post put out," she replied. "It seems to me that Jeff Bezos is bending to Trump."

"It may not be a deal for something tangible right now but he's bending to Trump," she added.

    1. Don't look at me!   7 months ago

    2. mad.casual   7 months ago

As above and once again, there is a longstanding symptom of TDS that conflates Trump the person with the will of half or more of the electorate (and not even a will he necessarily or directly represents).

    3. Medulla Oblongata   7 months ago

"He got the Washington Post and Jeff Bezos, who's supposedly a powerful, brilliant billionaire. He got Bezos to back down, the head of Amazon. Runs the Washington Post, owns it … He forced them to not endorse. That's pretty scary, guys," Brzezinski said.

"This election is more than a choice between two parties and two different candidates. It is a choice about whether we have a country rooted in freedom for every American. Or one ruled by chaos and division," said Harris, who made heavy references to the chaos of January 6, while repeating some stock biography about her middle-class upbringing.

These fucksticks have been running the same line since 2004, when Obama got anointed by the press as the Chosen One, and it's always the same afterwards--they proceed to produce even more chaos and division themselves. Even their rhetoric is a load of crap, because they don't mean "unity" in the sense that we as Americans should be united as Americans, they mean it in the Maoist unity-criticism-unity sense, which is to grow their stupid commie cult.

Never take anything these people say at face value. It's all rhetorical manipulation designed to convince you to accept their dumb political theology.

WHO sounds pandemic alarm as world’s deadliest infection at highest level since records began

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/other/who-sounds-pandemic-alarm-as-world-s-deadliest-infection-at-highest-level-since-records-began/ar-AA1tcfp5

Tuberculosis cases are at a record high, according to a new report from the World Health Organization (WHO).

The global health body revealed that approximately 8.2 million people were newly diagnosed with TB in 2023, marking the highest number recorded since WHO began monitoring the disease in 1995.

This represents a significant increase from the 7.5 million cases reported in 2022.

The alarming figures have propelled TB back to its position as the leading infectious disease killer in 2023, surpassing COVID-19.

Also related, from the AP a few months back:

US tuberculosis cases were at the highest level in a decade in 2023

NEW YORK (AP) — The number of U.S. tuberculosis cases in 2023 were the highest in a decade, according to a new government report.

Forty states reported an increase in TB, and rates were up among all age groups, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday. More than 9,600 cases were reported, a 16% increase from 2022 and the highest since 2013.

Cases declined sharply at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, but have been rising since.

Most U.S. TB cases are diagnosed in people born in other countries. Experts say the 2023 number is in part a combination of a surge in TB cases internationally — the World Health Organization said TB was behind only COVID-19 in infectious fatal diseases worldwide in 2022. And there are also increases in migration and post-pandemic international travel.

      Also...

An estimated 10.6 million people fell ill with tuberculosis (TB) in 2021, an increase of 4.5% from 2020, and 1.6 million people died from TB (including 187 000 among HIV positive people), according to the World Health Organization’s 2022 Global TB Report.

Given global population numbers, don't really care.

Democrats already doing their part to fuck with the voting process:

Misleading text messages from ‘voter mobilization’ group create confusion in key swing states
By Majlie de Puy Kamp and Casey Tolan, CNN
Published 9:28 PM EDT, Tue October 29, 2024

Thousands of voters in Pennsylvania received a confusing text message this weekend claiming they already voted in the 2024 presidential election.
“Records show you voted,” the message said, directing people to an official website with information about polling places and early on-demand voting in the state.
The organization behind the texts, AllVote, said the messages contained errors and should have told voters they had cast their ballots in 2022 and directed them to a link with information about voting in 2024. However, “in 2022” was left out, causing confusion. A spokesperson said the misleading text was followed by an apology message, though those who had replied “STOP” or marked the first message as spam may not have received it.
It’s the latest case of misleading or incorrect election-related information being disseminated by the group, which has been flagged by officials from across the country – including in the key swing states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Arizona – as a scam...

AllVote spokesperson Charlotte Clymer told CNN the organization estimates “several thousand registered voters were affected by our error” – referring to the text messages received by Pennsylvania voters over the weekend.
The texts, Clymer said, were an “unfortunate copy-editing error by staff working long hours,” and the organization has made its “approval process substantially more rigorous to ensure this doesn’t happen again.”

Little is known about the group, its founders or financial backers. A super PAC by the same name registered with the FEC earlier this month but hasn’t yet reported any money raised or spent. Clymer declined to provide information about its funding.
Howie Stanger, who is listed as AllVote’s treasurer on the FEC filings, did not respond to CNN’s request for comment. Stanger is the founder of Pocketbook Strategies, which aims to support “progressive organizations who want to dream big,” according to LinkedIn.

If the name "Charlotte Clymer" sounds familiar, it's because that's actually Charles Clymer, a hulking manbeast tranny with bad skin and yellow teeth that dresses like a 1950s grandma. This is the guy who was a "male feminist" that trooned out about 10 years ago after he began getting slagged for using his politics as cover for his generally shitty behavior against women.

Also, what his org pulled here sure sounds a lot like what got Douglass Mackey thrown in jail.

What’s notable here is that they targeted swing states with Democratic governors, probably knowing that none of those people would file charges against them if the tactic came back to bite them.

Nevada is also a potential get for Trump as well, but the Governor there is a Republican.

        1. Commenter_XY   7 months ago

NV is lost, the NV state supreme court ruled undated ballots can be received for up to 3 days, port-election. It was always a long shot.

They’re going for PA, so that the PA supreme court steps in with a ruling that makes it easier to harvest Team D votes. They want to preserve (D)emocracy, you see.

Hillary Clinton called Trump voters "deplorables" and "irredeemable" ("You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. (Laughter/applause) Right? (Laughter/applause) They're racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic – you name it. And unfortunately, there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. Neocons are RINOs because true Republicans are loyal to Trump. Duh. Fucking idiot.

Neocons were being called RINOs long before Trump ever became a politician. It has nothing to do with Trump, and everything to do with Bush Republicans letting the left continue to move the Overton window for decades while complaining any time their base wanted to push back against it.

Nature abhors a vacuum, and Trump simply saw a dearth of leadership in the party that was desired by the party’s voters, and snatched up the mantle. That the Bush Republicans/neocons were completely shunted out of the party in less than a decade was entirely due to their own decades-long record of policy and cultural failures, and their inability to actually represent their voters.

Yeah, 20 years ago. A lot of neocons and Bush Republicans are Democrats now. That's the whole point of the political realignment that's been going on since 2008.

            1. Red Rocks White Privilege   7 months ago

If they’re voting for Democrats, that makes them Democrats. Colin Powell even admitted his own registration was a troll and that he wasn’t actually a Republican after 2008. It's the same deal with anyone who calls themselves "Independent," but consistently supports one party when they vote.

If they’re voting for Democrats, that makes them Democrats

Yeaaaaaaah I don’t think so. I think that they’re just so fed up and disgusted with Trump that they want anyone else, even if that person is a Democrat.

It’s the same deal with anyone who calls themselves “Independent,” but consistently supports one party when they vote.

That I can agree with, and the stats bear out. At least 3/4 of those who claim to be independent are just too embarrassed to say they're part of either Party. Can't really blame them. Then there are some people who really are independent. Joe Rogan for example. But they're rare.

Yeaaaaaaah I don’t think so. I think that they’re just so fed up and disgusted with Trump that they want anyone else, even if that person is a Democrat.

The same people who said that an anodyne suit like Glenn Youngkin was a KKK member and right wing extremist, or that Ron DeSantis was wrong to push back against DEI and troon bullshit?

Again, this isn't about Trump. He's just an avatar. It's about the broader political realignments taking place that now pit revolutionaries/internationalists against counter-revolutionaries/nationalists. The overall policy lines might not be fully completed yet, but the new teams are now established. That's how you get the Cheneys and glowies like Denver Riggleman stumping for Democrats in swing districts and helping their get out the vote efforts, while liberal figures like Tulsi, Matt Taibbi, Joe Rogan, Elon Musk, and Glenn Greenwald are supposedly radical right-wingers now.

                3. Medulla Oblongata   7 months ago

I'm independent/libertarian. But the thought of Kamala Harris (like Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden before her) and the policies/platform of the DNC are so much anathema to me that I will vote for Trump yet again if there's even the slightest chance of him winning and keeping Harris from becoming President.

Trump is not a person I'd like to hang around with, work with, or anything else. His one redeeming quality is the chance to prevent a Harris presidency (like he prevented a H. Clinton presidency).

Devices used in ballot box arsons had 'Free Gaza' markings, sources say

The incident is believed to be connected to two others in Washington and Oregon.

Ballot boxes in Oregon and Washington were set on fire with incendiary devices early Monday in what authorities believe are connected incidents, police said.

The devices used in the arson incidents carried markings with the expression "Free Gaza," two sources familiar with the ongoing investigation told ABC News.

The ballot box fires, which occurred near the Oregon-Washington border, are also believed to be connected to a third ballot box incident that occurred earlier this month in Vancouver, Washington, police said.

The sources said the incendiary device used in the first arson, back on Oct. 8, had "Free Gaza" and "Free Palestine" on it. The two subsequent devices, set off in the early hours of Monday morning in Vancouver, Washington and nearby Portland, Oregon, carried the slogan "Free Gaza."

Prestigious high school tanks in rankings after implementing DEI
    ©X / Google / tjhsst.fcps,edu
A prestigious public high school frequently ranked America's best has slumped in rankings after implementing a DEI-focused admissions policy. Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology fell to number 14 on the latest US News and World Report Rankings.

It held the top spot for years, but dipped to third place in 2023 and saw its ranking freefall in 2024, prompting the principal Dr. Ann Bonitatibus to stand down earlier this month. Worried parents have said that the alarming drop is the result of an 'equity'-focused admissions policy, which prioritizes equality of outcome rather than opportunity. The policy aims to increase the number of black and Latino children at the school by axing standard tests in favor of a review process. Critics have said it has lowered academic standards and led to a reduction in Asian-American students.

Asra Nomani, a former Thomas Jefferson parent, had previously hailed the departure of Bonitatibus as being a 'win' for the school. The journalist and author has been a vocal critic of the school leadership, the decline in the school's rankings and the reduction in the number of National Merit semifinalists. Speaking with DailyMail.com, she said: 'The decline of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology from No. 1 to No. 14 is emblematic of the dumbing down of America by activist school boards and administrators from northern Virginia to Massachusetts, Michigan and beyond, weaponizing the once well-intended concept of ‘equity’ to destroy academic excellence, merit and the American Dream.'

Nomani, a first generation American-Indian Muslim, added: 'To restore TJ’s excellence, it’s time to move from DEI—diversity, equity and inclusion—to MEI—merit, excellence, and intelligence, restoring values of equality, fairness and achievement. 'This is about affirming diversity while re-committing to high standards that reward hard work and intellectual ambition, so TJ—and America—can once again be a beacon of excellence. ' Srilekha Palle, whose child attends the school, told Fox News : 'What is a big deal if it falls down to 100, 1,000?'

'If you have that kind of attitude, then what are we teaching our kids? I think it is purely a reflection on leadership changes and leadership failure.' Glenn Miller, whose son graduated from TJ two years ago, spoke with Fairfax Times and criticized the board for the change in policy. He said: 'It hurts the county. It hurts the reputation of the county. It hurts the county as a place that attracts people to move here.'

EPA and DOJ Settlement Will Address Problems at Toa Alta Landfill
    Landfill on Path to Closure

    Stephen McBay (mcbay.stephen@epa.gov)
    (212)-637-3672
NEW YORK - The Municipality of Toa Alta has agreed to a settlement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to address environmental and public health risks at its landfill in Puerto Rico. The settlement, announced today, requires the Municipality of Toa Alta to deal with the contaminated liquid, known as leachate, in the southeast portion of the landfill and to pay a $50,000 civil penalty for its past violations. Prior actions are addressing other risks posed by the landfill
"This settlement will protect people by requiring that the contaminated liquid under the landfill be properly managed. This is a major milestone in our efforts with the residents to address the long-standing problems at the Toa Alta landfill," said Regional Administrator Lisa F. Garcia. "The community has helped shape EPA and DNER’s work to address the unacceptable risks that have been posed by this landfill and we look forward to getting input on this proposed settlement."

Read that and I have to say that that I’m not convinced that the 19th century black face minstrel shows and female impersonators were 100% racist and misogynist. The popularity of these shows actually reveals, I think, some tolerance on the part of the culture of the time. As noted the female impersonators were known to be what we now call LGBTQ but they made a living being that. I’m old enough to remember when Aunt Jemima was a trusted marketing character and Liberace was a rock star. And Amos and Andy were beloved characters until they weren’t anymore. This is not to say that racism and misogyny weren’t present. I grew up with that too. But the shit is always more complicated than AI will ultimately write it. So we’ve traded 19th century female impersonators for men beating up women in officially sanctioned sports and white men being denied college admissions and employment in favor of unqualified people of a different skin color and purported gender. You can repackage this crap any way you want but it’s still the same old shit.

I didn’t say they were. But what AI misses in nuance and context it’s going to get right in irrefutable fact and the the fact is, Drag and LGBTQIA+/Pride inclusiveness is, at best, a projection or favorable retcon.

At some point, once the cart full of apples is covered in mold, it’s a bit immaterial as to whether one moldy apple spoiled the whole thing or whether most of the apples were moldy and rotten at their core and a few good apples just happened to be on the same cart.

To the point, the further the "Drag Movement" or art form became identifiable and self-identifying, the further it/we got from fringe content of minstrel shows to, as you demonstrate; men beating up women for trophies and convincing kids to mutilate themselves.

Teachers, underpaid, underappreciated, etc. People always crying about teachers... Now, I have teachers in my family, and I know there are plenty of good teachers. I just don't hold the profession up on a pedestal like many seem to...education majors are some of the very worst students eking their way through the some of the easiest courses.

    Anyway, I'm shocked...shocked!

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/over-200-unqualified-texas-educators-had-someone-else-take-their-exam-in-cheating-scandal/ar-AA1tcQHB

Five people have been charged in Texas, accused of organizing and participating in an illegal cheating scheme that certified more than 200 unqualified teachers and saw the plot’s “kingpin” rake in more than $1 million, prosecutors announced.

In the scheme, individuals would typically pay $2,500 to have a proxy take certification tests for them at two testing centers in Houston. The scandal involved bribing a testing proctor to allow test applicants and their proxy to switch places, Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg announced in a press conference Monday.

Overall, more than 400 fraudulent exams were taken and over 200 teachers were falsely certified on a variety of exams and are now scattered across the state. The scheme was traced back to May 2020, during the Covid pandemic.

The plot was allegedly orchestrated by Vincent Grayson, 57, the head boys basketball coach at Booker T. Washington High School within the Houston Independent School District, prosecutors said.

He, along with Tywana Gilford Mason, 51; Nicholas Newton, 35; Darian Nikole Wilhite, 22; and LaShonda Roberts, 39, have been charged with two felony counts each of engaging in organized criminal activity.

On Tuesday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced the grand jury indictments against the five.

Most elementary teachers are not very smart. Their major is easy, they are told how to teach kids reading and writing (most are not very good at math or science)...and still they whine, complain, but I will say in my mid 20's, picking up a teacher was easy. They were raging drinkers but after a few times out, it was like dating an idiot. I'm not surprised so many female teachers are banging their students..they really are immature and have a raging inferiority complex.

    2. Red Rocks White Privilege   7 months ago

Chinese student to face criminal charges for voting in Michigan. Ballot will apparently count

    https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/10/30/chinese-university-of-michigan-college-student-voted-presidential-election-michigan-china-benson/75936701007/

Ann Arbor — A University of Michigan student who is from China and not a U.S. citizen allegedly voted Sunday in Ann Arbor and is being charged with two crimes, six days before a pivotal presidential election.

The filing of the charges was revealed Wednesday in a statement from Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson's office and the Washtenaw County Prosecutor's office. The press release didn't identify the student but described him only as "a non-U.S. citizen."

The 19-year-old individual from China was legally present in the United States but not a citizen, which meant he couldn't legally cast a ballot, according to information from the Michigan Secretary of State's office. He registered to vote on Sunday using his UM student identification and other documentation establishing residency in Ann Arbor, he signed a document identifying himself as a U.S. citizen and his ballot was entered into a tabulator, according to the Secretary of State's office.

The ballot was cast at an early voting site at the University of Michigan Museum of Art on State Street, according to the Ann Arbor city administrator.

Later, the UM student voter contacted the local clerk's office, asking if he could somehow get his ballot back, according to Benson's office.

The student's ballot is expected to count in the upcoming election — although it was illegally cast — because there is no way for election officials to retrieve it once it's been put through a tabulator, according to two sources familiar with Michigan election laws. The setup is meant to prevent ballots from being tracked back to an individual voter.

A legitimate case of illegal voting, with information from reliable sources, posted without embellishment, exaggeration, or claims that one proves a million did it. Well done!

This is the problem with states that do “same day” or last minute registration. On the one hand, normal citizens don’t carry a passport and birth certificate, so if you require one of those you’ll end up turning away large number of citizens when they try to vote. But if you don’t require any proof, people can do what this guy did.

Require registration more than 30 days ahead so there’s plenty of time to find and send the correct paperwork, and also to fix errors if the clerk notices a mistake.

And/or allow a sealed provisional ballot with a default of “don’t count it” and burden on the voter to provide proof of eligibility within 24 hours.

Islam is a religion of peace, and Brutus is an honorable man.

"This attacker shot a Jewish man on his way to worship at a synagogue, then returned to the scene of the shooting to fire at first responders. He's on video shouting 'Allahu Akbar' as he pumps bullets at Jews, paramedics, and police. According to columnist Karol Markowicz, who has excellent law enforcement sources, the suspect is an illegal immigrant who entered the country unlawfully during the Biden-Harris administration.

An illegal immigrant tried to murder a Jewish man on his way to synagogue in the sanctuary city of Chicago on Saturday, then shot at first responders, yelling “Allahu Akbar.” The man crossed illegally into the sanctuary state of CA last year & was released by the Biden-Harris administration. Mysteriously, this has not gotten much national media attention.
