Kamala Harris | TANNEN MAURY/UPI/Newscom
(TANNEN MAURY/UPI/Newscom)

Kamala Harris thinks she's in trouble with black men and has proceeded to pander accordingly. She called in the heavy reinforcements—former President Barack Obama—to vouch for her in Pittsburgh, where he said that distaste for Kamala Harris "seems to be more pronounced with the brothers," which he attributed to sexism.

He doubled down later, when giving remarks at her campaign headquarters: "Part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren't feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you're coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that," said Obama, seemingly unable to imagine other reasons for opposing Harris.

"Recent polling from CBS News and the New York Times/Siena Poll suggests that, though the vice president is winning the majority of Black men, she is so far well behind the kinds of numbers the party drew in 2020 and 2016," reports Politico. "The latter survey, which included an oversample of Black voters, found the support for Harris drew just 78 percent support—in past elections, Democrats have drawn 90 percent of Black voters."

Team Harris is freaking out. They released a set of policy planks aimed at this demographic group—called the "Opportunity Agenda for Black Men"—which will "provid[e] 1 million loans that are fully forgivable to Black entrepreneurs and others to start a business." The others is kind of a hilarious addition, because it's obviously legally dubious to provide loans only to one demographic group, for being part of that demographic group, so this program will absolutely have to include other people as well, as it should.

Harris also says she'll take care of black men by…legalizing weed and protecting their crypto assets, though it's unclear what type of regulatory framework she favors or how the federal government will pull that off. (I did not realize liking weed and crypto was especially characteristic of black dudes.)

Kamala falling in the polls and doubling down on touting the endorsement of Dick Cheney and crypto/weed for black men? It's like a parody of how a DC Dem sees voters.

— Lee Fang (@lhfang) October 15, 2024

All of it comes together to paint a bit of a dim portrait of black men. The thing that will alleviate crime and poverty in mostly black neighborhoods is…free market capitalism and being treated equally under the law and enforcing laws against violent crime and scaling back the misguided war on drugs. None of this is represented by Harris' policy approach detailed here, which reads as pointless at best, condescending at worst.

But, again, Harris is pretty clearly in panic mode and trying to shore up support. In Detroit, she went on Charlamagne tha God's show, "The Breakfast Club," co-hosting a town hall with him.

"This is a margin-of-error race," she said at the beginning of the interview. "It's tight. I'm gonna win. I'm gonna win, but it's tight."

At one point, Charlamagne suggested that Donald Trump's approach should be called fascism, asking, "Why can't we just say it?"

"Yeah, we can say that," replied Harris.

Oh sweet Charlamagne. Where have you been? There are entire media personalities who have not stopped saying that for the last almost decade. There are journalists who mutter that in their sleep. It's not unsayable; you're late to the punch.

But the apocalypticism didn't stop there. "Donald Trump spent four years making Black men's lives harder," said Harris in her policy paper. "On his watch, millions of Black men lost their jobs, thousands closed their businesses, and hundreds of thousands lost their health insurance. As thousands of Black men lost their lives to COVID-19, Donald Trump denied the severity of the crisis and made millions more unsafe. Crime in Black neighborhoods soared while Donald Trump tried to cut funding for public safety and made Black communities less secure."

It's not clear to me that slamming Trump for his COVID record—when Democrats are broadly seen as those who kept businesses closed, and people shut in their houses—is a winning tack to take, nor will it work to claim he's soft on crime. It seems like Harris is throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks with this particular group and I'm not sure it'll be persuasive.

Scenes from New York: There's news circulating this week about the Park Slope Food Co-op's founder retiring. Here's a Kennedy gem from the archives that deals with the cringe grocery store's denizens.

QUICK HITS

  • The BBC reports that six people, including the mayor, have been killed by Israeli air strikes in Nabatieh, a city in southern Lebanon.
  • "The Harris campaign's tacit acknowledgment that America is a center-right country is evidence of a conclusion the Left bitterly resents and has argued against for years," writes National Review's Noah Rothman.

  • This is hilarious. Donald Trump just straight-up hosted a listening session instead of a town hall, playing, at one point, Sinead O'Connor.

  • "The Chinese warplanes, deployed in record numbers, crossed an informal boundary between China and Taiwan. Chinese Coast Guard boats joined naval ships in encircling Taiwan. Fighter jets took off from an aircraft carrier parked off the island's east coast. The large-scale military drills China held this week were aimed at demonstrating its potential to choke Taiwan's access to food and fuel and block the skies and waters from which the United States and its allies would presumably approach in coming to the island's defense," reports The New York Times. "The exercises showed how China was improving its coordination of complex operations involving a range of military, coast guard and rocket forces. They also raise the risk of a confrontation or accident that could draw in the United States and its Asian allies."

    I Ran Into Battle

A US official confirms that “At the President’s direction, we have sent messages to the highest levels of the Iranian government strongly warning them to cease all plotting against Donald Trump and former U.S. officials.” The US has told Iran it would consider any attempt on Trump’s life as an act of war.

    – Intel Slava Z

This does not apply to Act Blue donors or ostensibly the US military who recently gave themselves permission to use lethal force on American citizens or perhaps just one citizen in particular. But it does signal that the next forever war is with Iran. Stock up on canned food and Lockheed Martin shares.

    1. Social Justice is neither   8 months ago

Looks more like the Biden/Harris/Democrat platform is to stop the export of American forever wars and bring them to the US with all the military spending and infrastructure rebuilding GDP growth that entails.

      1. mad.casual   8 months ago

Phase IVc, Rev. 0.0 (2024-10-15): See if we can backhandedly get Iran to murder Trump, blame it on Biden, get Kamala in, march the deplorables off to war with Iran, and profit off of it.

I think it looks like a setup for a false flag assasination by the IC to blame on Iran as their ultimate hail mary late october surprise.

It looks like it but really they dont need it. Overseas mail in ballots go burr… at just the right levels to insure a (D)evastating victory over Trump.

Don’t want to drone on about this, but unknown arial objects keep flying over US military facilities under the Biden-Harris watch. It looks like it did balloon into something more:

“[General Mark] Kelly described the first drone he saw as roughly 20 feet long and flying at more than 100 miles an hour, at an altitude of roughly 3,000 to 4,000 feet.”

“The report said officials could not determine if hobbyists or adversaries – such as China or Russia – were responsible for the drone fleet.”

OK, these guys are in charge of our military intelligence? This wasn’t a Mavic II quadcopter, it was the size of my Tacoma, flying at 3500 feet altitude, going 100 knots. It wasn’t exactly my neighbor Dave.

      1. Earth-based Human Skeptic   8 months ago

Maybe it was something that black men do, when not smoking weed and playing with crypto.

      2. SIV   8 months ago

Did General Kelly measure the drone’s size, speed and altitude by eyeball or was that confirmed by radar? My thoughts, based on the incomplete and questionable information, is that these are “hobby” drones and the government is seeking to impose further restrictions on civilian drones.

      3. damikesc   8 months ago

Could be some version of DARPA UCAV in development for the Navy on a test flight out of Pax River. When DARPA runs “unacknowledged” R&D, there’s little chance that even service members who aren’t directly involved with it would be in the loop to know that it exists. Even most of Congress wouldn’t even be “read in” on the existence of that kind of project.

When the media gets into their next cycle of apoplexy over all the money that DoD “can’t account for” going back to the early days of the Cold War, a lot of it probably went to fund development of things which officialy “don’t exist”. Sometimes those projects get turned into “official” programs if they need to get too big to hide and there’ll be some announcement of a contract award to whoever has been working on it for anywhere from 3-10 years prior, sometimes the plans just get “mothballed” once the project is ready to go past the prototype phase if they were working on making something that they don’t have a clear need for yet, but think they might need someday.

RUS and CHN are getting ready for hostilities….why the fuck do people think they are flying drones over Norfolk and NoVA?

        Hostilities are close. Very close.

        1. Red Rocks White Privilege   8 months ago

RUS and CHN are getting ready for hostilities….why the fuck do people think they are flying drones over Norfolk and NoVA?

Yeah, it’s almost like the DoD is pushing a strategic plan called the Great Power Competition that explicitly names China and Russia as the main US adversaries, and that we need to be prepared in the event a war takes place with them.

The hilarious part is that these people have blown so much of their credibility, and done such a bang-up job alienating their traditional warrior class over the last 20 years with their anti-white/anti-male/anti-US activism, that they can’t even make the pathetic recruiting goals they have now. If a bunch of American cities got blown off the map because these idiots kept provoking a conflict with peer/near-peer adversaries, would it really bother the people in the hinterlands and exurbs all that much?

          1. Red Rocks White Privilege   8 months ago

This is probably the main reason the Regime is so desperate to keep importing Third World migrants, so they can be recruited as cannon fodder with the promise of American citizenship. Dick Durbin’s even admitted as much.

        2. B G   8 months ago

Threre’s got to be so much hostile sattelite coverage of the NoVa/DC/Chesepeake Bay area that operating drones at altitudes where they could be spotted, or possibly even shot down and turned into evidece would be a bizarre move in both a strategic and tactical sense.

Best case outcome, it duplicates existing intel in a way which doesn’t particularly improve it. Medium case, it puts the intended target into a higher level of alert before they might have otherwise, worst case it creates an international “incident” and technically constitutes an “act of war” under what we laughingly call “international law” and becomes justification for some kind of early reprisal

      This is hilarious.

So the Cleveland Clinic publishes a study, AND publishes all of the supplemental data to accompany the conclusions of their study. Berenson digs through the supplemental data, does some math, and then claims “‘they lied! their conclusions aren’t supported by their data!”

Of course Berenson doesn’t show any of HIS work that he did to ‘prove’ that the study’s authors lied. He offers just hand-wavey appeals.

So who is really guilty of bad faith here – the study’s authors, who published all of their work including the raw data, and subjected it all to peer review, or Berenson, who didn’t show what he did and didn’t subject any of his work to outside scrutiny?

And naturally you and your team breathlessly believe Berenson’s results, even though he didn’t show his work or tell you how precisely the original data analysis was flawed, because you put narrative over fact. In fact, your narrative has gone in the opposite direction – it used to be you all claimed “COVID is just a bad flu”. NOW, your new narrative apparently is “There are no long term downsides whatsoever to COVID”. So you dismiss ‘long COVID’, you dismiss this study which showed long-term heart problems from COVID, you dismiss anything that contradicts your narrative that COVID *isn’t even* a bad flu, it is more like just a sneeze in a dusty room. Nothing at all. While of course some of you still try to claim that COVID was some type of bioweapon deliberately cooked up in a Chinese lab in 2020 in order to ‘get Trump’.

You and your team are living in a socially-constructed clown world. COVID is just a sniffle, the vaccines are poison, COVID is a bioweapon, all of science is completely rotten, masks were intentional instruments of social control, blah blah blah.

Most people have never heard of the 80s-90s hard rock, metal band, Savatage, but I’m sure you have all heard of what that band turned into, Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

          1. Quicktown Brix   8 months ago

I looked at the raw data myself. Berenson’s criticism checks out by my calculations.

Block discovered that beginning in May 2024 his identity was “fraudulently used” to make over 385 donations worth over $884 to 62 campaigns and political organizations, the suit said. Thirty-five of the donations were to Harris’ Victory Fund.

Serious question. If I and others vote early for Trump and he is assassinated prior to election day, what is the line of succession? Does Vance become the presidential candidate and will he be inaugurated in the event that the Republican ticket wins? What if Trump wins but is assassinated prior to inauguration? Without an elected vice president Does Mike Johnson become VP? It’s clear to me that the regime will stop at nothing to keep Trump out of power.

Vance is declared ineligible and arrested, Mike Johnson withdraws under pressure, as does Patty Murray, and Antony Blinken is declared president.

JD Vance would be sworn in as POTUS.
A VP would need to be nominated and approved by the House.
Until a VP is sworn in, the Speaker is next in line of succession, after the POTUS.

I believe if Trump wins the vote on election day but is killed before he can be certified the winner on Jan 6 (or maybe on Jan 20, Inauguration Day) it would be treated as though no one (living) won a majority of the Electoral College (270 votes). The House would select the president (by state delegation, so Wyoming gets one vote, CA gets one vote, etc.), and then the Senate would select the VP. In that case you could see Vance selected by the House to be president, and Kamala (or some other Dem) selected to be VP.

What this really shows is that campaign finance is one of those fields not particularly amenable to laws, and he government should just butt out.

      1. Medulla Oblongata   8 months ago

I’m told that if laws are complex and costly to comply with, and restrictive of your rights–e.g., to donate as much money as you want to your favorite candidate–then you should just ignore them and do what you want to do anyway. And that people who say otherwise or expect that laws should be followed are just racist fascists demanding “papers please” (in this case papers are whatever requisite forms that should accompany campaign contributions).

        1. Stupid Government Tricks   8 months ago

I’ve linked before to a Volokh comment that laws are supposed to be complex and costly to comply with and to enforce, because (a) this discourages the peasants from tying up courts with peasant problems; and (b) it allows good judges to come to the right conclusion without having to blindly follow some poorly-defined legislation.

Looking into Kamalas stats as DA shows some interesting things…

    Harmeet K. Dhillon
    @pnjaban
When Kamala Harris became the DA after violating the campaign finance limits to out-raise and outspend her former boss, who did obey the limits, she immediately sent out mass “let’s make a deal” letters to every defense lawyer with a pending murder case. These cases were almost all pled out to manslaughter or even lesser charges, and then Harris claimed these as convictions on murder cases for her closure rate. This is unheard of and set a tone of defense lawyers not taking her office seriously.

    Harmeet K. Dhillon
    @pnjaban
Kamala Harris manipulated the stats as DA by charging only cases that were “trial ready” in the first place — an absurd metric as most cases are built up after charging on a probable cause basis. Even so, her conviction rate was a joke.

    Harmeet K. Dhillon
    @pnjaban
When Kamala Harris was SF DA, one of her top deputies regularly rounded the office urging prosecutors to stop by Harris’ fundraisers for re-election to donate and/or volunteer. One of them told me she was told it would be good for her career to contribute. Message was clear.

She also apparently committed fraud when she signed an agreement under penalty for perjury agreeing to campaign spending caps and then doubled the spending the cap set.

    1. InsaneTrollLogic (Factio Democratica delenda est 5/30/24)   8 months ago

There’s practically nothing honest nor real about Kamala. She’s got her positions through cronyism and fraud, unable to prosecute a case, and stands for nothing but the establishment lies and misinformation. Her campaign is the most pathetically astroturfed in history, with bused in fake crowds and fake enthusiasm on social media.

      https://www.spiked-online.com/2024/10/16/kamala-doesnt-know-the-first-thing-about-fascism/

But this time round, it’s even worse. For now they’re screaming ‘fascist’ at Trump while all but ignoring the truly disturbing sight of young Americans marching through the streets carrying massive ‘Jew heads’ with blood-stained horns, and keffiyeh-wearing leftists on the New York subway shouting ‘Raise your hand if you’re a Zionist’, and students on the leafy lawns of Ivy League campuses calling the Jewish State the ‘pigs of the Earth’ and telling Jews to fuck off ‘back to Poland’. After 7 October, I don’t want to hear one word about fascism from the Dem elites or the media class, for there are people out there who vote for you and who read you who really are behaving like little Hitler pigs.

After Hamas’s pogrom against Israel, a frenzied hostility to Israel swept through correct-think circles in the US. And it gave rise to properly bigoted behaviour. Show me one Rust Belt Trump voter who has ever held up a banner saying ‘Long live 7 October’. Or who has descended on the private dwelling of a Jewish museum director and daubed it with the blood-red triangle that symbolises support for the anti-Semitic army of Hamas. Or who has harassed Jewish students, told Jews to go back to Europe, marched with placards showing the Star of David mangled with the swastika. All of these pretty fascistic horrors occurred in America over the past year, and they were the doing of leftists, not Trumpists; of people far more likely to vote for Kamala – even if they hold their noses while doing so – than for Trump.

None of this is represented by Harris’ policy approach detailed here, which reads as pointless at best, condescending at worst.

Sigh. The thing that will work is not just screaming bumper sticker slogans. It is removing the government dependencies in these areas first and foremost. Not rewarding destruction of family structures.

In the 60s Democrat Moynihan correctly analyzed the structures put in place by FDR that led to the collapse of the black family and their lowered rates of success. Prior to the FDR policies, black families were succeeding and saw same wage employment growth as other races. This collapsed with welfare programs and dependency programs pushed by FDR and LBJ.

I’m recent arrivals of black families they succeed at similar rates as whites. Outperforming the multigenerational black families. This is true in European countries as well.

It is the taught dependence of the left that has led largely to the repressed scores. This includes the dem control of schools, push to decrease policing, etc.

    1. sarcasmic   8 months ago

Are you saying that people in mostly black neighborhoods are treated equally under the law, that laws against violent crime are enforced in mostly black neighborhoods, and that the drug war doesn’t disproportionately harm blacks?

      1. JesseAz (5-30 Banana Republic Day)   8 months ago

I see you’ve invested in this Democrat narrative as well. Amazing you say you aren’t a Democrat.

There have been dozens of studies posted here, even from black college professors, showing this as a myth when normalized for number of crimes.

But I get it. You saw Jen Psaki say this, so it is now a fact.

That’s why many urban minorities want MORE policing and are against the defund movements.

It also shows your ignorance to history as it was black Urban leaders who asked for more policing to stop the heroin rise in inner cities in the early 80s.

You’re literally a bog standard democrats with your thoughts.

        3. Red Rocks White Privilege   8 months ago

While the vast majority of Americans reside in the center

Do they, really? A lot of people might have that pretense, but if they’re really being honest, most are actually quite partisan.

the politicians are increasingly serving the far ends of the spectrum, left and right. Problem is that the ends make the noise not the center.

Again, this is sheer question-begging. Maybe the reason that politicians are increasingly partisan is because they’re actually reflecting the electorate, not that they’re serving small minorities of voters. If that’s not the case, then this whole “our democracy” intonation seems more like a shibboleth than a reality.

And again, what exactly is “center-right” about the US? You avoided taking a stab at that part entirely. The center-right NeverTrumpers are a niche faction who love tax cuts, foreign wars,
take a big game about fiscal discipline and small government but rarely exercise the former and consider “small government” to be whatever the current iteration is at the moment, and want leftism to take place at 60 mph rather than 100 mph. Is that really reflecting most of the nation?

          1. Moderation4ever   8 months ago

You may be correct that many Americans are partisan but that doesn’t mean they are not more to the center. The problem is that the far left, far right tend to dominate in the primaries. They are more active pushing their off-center candidate. The election comes around and the more moderate people vote following their party. They may wish the candidate was more moderate, but they are the party’s choice, and they vote accordingly. People are dissatisfied with their choices but don’t get out an vote in the primary.

                  https://www.carolinajournal.com/poll-majority-of-likely-dem-voters-want-fines-home-confinement-for-the-unvaccinated/

Forty-eight percent of Democrats also would give the green light to government fines or imprisonment for those who question the efficacy of the vaccine on social media or other public forums. Forty-five percent of Democrats gave a thumbs up to forcing the unvaccinated into temporary designated areas, while 46% support using digital devices to track the unvaccinated to ensure they are quarantined or properly socially distanced from others.

A smaller number of Democrats (29%) would go so far as to temporarily remove parents’ custody of their children if the parents refused to take the vaccine.

            3. Red Rocks White Privilege   8 months ago

This entire post is rife with contradictions. If they are voting along party lines, that doesn’t mean they’re moderate, it means they’re partisan. And if there were more moderates it means the candidates would appeal more to a moderate agenda, because that’s where the votes are.

The reality is that there is not the vast “center” that supposedly makes up the majority of the electorate. Even Romney admitted that he was going to be shut out of 45% of the vote automatically when he ran for President. And the trend the past few years has been to acknowledge that reality, and focus on getting your most rabid supporters out working for you, and voting, because they’re going to be the most motivated to beat the opponent.

There just really isn’t any way to trust any government data. Maybe that’s not possible, but all gov’t numbers are bullshit until proven otherwise.

I don’t want them kidnapped from their beds. I just want to be able to stop being forced to pay for their beds, their housing, their food, their kids, their health care. I suspect strongly that if we cut of the free-shit tap and simply enforced the taxes, minimum wage, and other general laws that are enforced on citizens (or, got rid of those laws for everyone, which would be better), much of the illegal alien problem would resolve itself.

And of course, I’d like to stop being forced to pay for all that for citizens, too.

          1. sarcasmic   8 months ago

I was talking to ML specifically. He’s said in the past that he wants all 13,000,000 of them arrested immediately, as in a sweep across the country grabbing all of them out of their homes in one night, for the heinous crime of not having papers.

            1. InsaneTrollLogic (Factio Democratica delenda est 5/30/24)   8 months ago

So you object to sending 13 million illegal aliens home, but somehow you seem to agree with arresting J6 protesters in the middle of the night, puting then through kangaroo court trials, and locking them up for quite some time as well as being able to use lethal force on them.

              1. sarcasmic   8 months ago

I’ve said very little about the treatment of the J6 yahoos because I tend to ignore it. From what little I’ve seen it looks excessive, but I really don’t know enough to say either way.

Though that hasn’t stopped you and the gang from creating elaborate strawmen arguments which you then set on fire.

What I do oppose is giving more powers and immunities to local police in order to round up 13,000,000 political scapegoats. Policing is a huge problem in this country. More powers and immunities will make it much, much worse. And what do you think will happen when Democrats inherit the power to round up political scapegoats by the millions, and you’re on their list?

Check out this unintenionally hilarious excerpt from boomer shitlib Owen Gliberman’s article on the Donald Trump biopic “The Apprentice”:

“The Apprentice” is a movie that presents itself as incendiary, but as well-done as it is, it’s closer in spirit to an old made-for-TV movie. As a bomb-tossing cultural buzz film, it was probably always destined to be a tempest in a teapot. But then something took place, in connection with it, that really was quite dramatic. After generating its share of Cannes buzz, the movie couldn’t find a distributor. No one wanted to touch it. The Trump campaign made legal threats against the film, centering on a scene of sexual assault (an accusation that was denied in 2015 by Ivana Trump). And this created a ripple effect. Yet it wasn’t just the matter of a potential lawsuit. Back in May and June, the fear had already begun to coalesce that Trump would be the next president (Joe Biden getting kicked out of the race was, at this point, not even a gleam in the Democratic establishment’s eye), and the distributors were scared of recrimination. What if Trump did become president? What would he do to them?

Besides the laughable pretense that Trump is going to do anything more than what he’s already done, which is sue the filmmakers for the Ivana rape scene that she denied actually happened before she passed, what makes this face-fanning piece so amusing is Hollywood’s understanding that they’ve acted in such a provocative manner as the Current Year neo-commie vanguard that a Deng-like retribution from their Cultural Revolution would actually be necessary to restore normalcy to the US.

“California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday signed a bill into law aimed at curbing surging gas prices soon after state lawmakers endorsed the legislation in a final vote.
The Democrat-backed measure, Assembly Bill X2-1, was introduced in response to the state’s rising gas prices and will require oil refineries to keep a minimum inventory level of fuel in an effort to avoid scarce supply, which leads to price hikes at the pump…”

Those prices can’t have a thing to do with gov’t actions like special CA formulations, bans on production, taxes, storage regulations, right?

    1. Ron   8 months ago

the problem with keeping extra storage is that California won’t let them expand their existing storage without ten years if enviro impact studies also any fuel stored which they will have to have will be wasted once the season changes and recipe changes then that old fuel is now worthless to anyone outside of California. typical bondoggle law. so yes gas prices will go up

Two of our properties in Aurora, CO remain under gang control. By “gang control,” we mean that most or all of the rental income is diverted to a criminal enterprise comprised of gang members and illegal immigrants instead of the rightful property owners. A third building was shut down by the city for “code violations.” Let’s take a closer look at these so-called violations.”

However, for several months Mr Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani has urged Ukrainian officials and Mr Zelenskiy’s aides to look into whether Mr Biden targeted Mr Shokin to shield Burisma and his son from scrutiny.

Mr Biden has acknowledged threatening to withhold US loan guarantees from Ukraine unless Mr Shokin was sacked, but insists this was part of a broad western effort to kick-start Kiev’s stalled fight against corruption.

Indeed, Ukrainian anti-graft campaigners say Mr Shokin was not investigating Burisma and blocked attempts to prosecute powerful businessmen and politicians.

Western capitals welcomed his removal in March 2016, with the European Union’s envoy to Kiev at the time, Jan Tombinksi, calling it “an opportunity to make a fresh start in the prosecutor general’s office” amid “a lack of tangible results of investigations into serious cases”.

In addition to the US and the EU, senior IMF officials, including Christine Lagarde, the former managing director, forcefully called on Ukraine to boost its reform efforts, including anti-corruption measures, in early 2016, before Mr Shokin was ousted. The fund’s focus was on institutions rather than individuals, IMF officials said.

Prominent Republican senators, including Rob Portman of Ohio and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, were on a similar push at the time, calling for “urgent reforms to the prosecutor-general’s office and judiciary” in an early 2016 letter to Mr Poroshenko.

    “America is a center-right country”

Sorry, but no. America is a hodgepodge of every conceivable combination of political, economic and social opinions. Even the single dimensional left-right chart is a consequence of the imposition on us of a two-party election system. The “political quiz” two-dimensional chart is a major improvement but still fails to capture the political reality in America forever. Although it may be correct to say that a majority of voters tend to vote center-right in the Presidential elections every four years, only a proportional representation at-large ranked-choice election of representatives across the board could ever capture a reasonable range of political positions here.

Today in a case before the US Supreme Court, the state of Alabama slams WPATH. They explain that WPATH is so unscientific that they even recommend c*stration as medically necessary!!

In the Standard of Care version 8 (SOC-8) they have a chapter for people with what they call “eunuch gender”. (If you don’t know what a eunuch is, please look it up.)

Want to know how they came up with this nonsense? From the “internet”.

All of this is from a case called US v Skrmetti, which is about a law in Tennessee trying to protect children from medical harm under the guise of “care”.

The friend of the court brief by Alabama is scathing in its criticism of WPATH. (World prof assoc for TG health).

That might sound confusing, but the state of Alabama is offering support in a legal brief to the state of Tennessee to help them uphold their law protecting kids.

The brief goes into details about just how sketchy Alabama claims that WPATH is.

The brief includes allegations that WPATH pressured doctors to come to certain conclusions in support of this “care” despite poor evidence that it’s even useful. They removed age limits on surgery for kids and more. It’s well worth the read. Ask me for the link in the comments.

Alabama claims that the US federal gov and WPATH worked together to push these standards of care on kids despite a lack of evidence and influenced by “Rachel” Levine the “trans” assistant health secretary.
