Brickbat: No Summer Snakes

Officials in Atlantic City, New Jersey, have banned snakes and other reptiles from its iconic boardwalk from Memorial Day to Labor Day. For the past few summers, Jason Wilson has allowed visitors to the boardwalk to pet and hold his Burmese pythons, which he says has been educational for those people and helped some ease their fears of snakes. But some council members expressed concern about how safe it is to have snakes interacting with the public.

A cold blooded decision.
But some council members expressed concern about how safe it is to have snakes interacting with the public.
Maybe they were talking about their own public meetings.
The BEST way to pest-control pythons is MORE pythons!!! It's a python-eat-python world out there!!!

The council should import gorillas to control the snakes. Two fabulous sights for visitors!
I want to buy your rock.
For the past few summers, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have entertained people on the Atlantic City Boardwalk [snake's names]

Alright we'll let you bring one. Choose correctly or else a friend of ours will be paying you a visit.
If that's real then we may have an answer for why the snakes were banned. Can't have people out thereocking politicians in front of the public.
Donald Trump… [snake’s name]
So the stock photo is actually more relevant than even at first glance? WTF?

"But some council members expressed concern about how safe it is to have snakes interacting with the public."
It's safer than having politicians interacting with the public.
The threat is salmonella. The idea that a python is going to eat a child in full view of its handler and a beach crowd, is preposterous.
Politicians are indeed far more dangerous to children, what with spreading their nonsense ideas and mind poison. Boaf sides.
The threat is salmonella.
I'm tempted to agree with you, but then snakes and reptiles... and not amphibians and a fair number of invertebrates and even mammals, doesn't make any sense.
I think the idea developed about as far as "Politics, snakes, bad." and stopped there.
Our lizard overlords don't like the competition.
There is truth in that.
NJ goes full monty banning pythons.
I see what you did there. #FlyingCircus
obvious disconnect between snake educator and those who fear and oppress him.
Why not "look at" how safe it is to let politicians interact with the Great Unwashed? One recent event in Pennsylvania left two dead others wounded and a girl-bullying redneck politico looking mighty silly with his freshly-pierced ear.
The real snakes are in government.
Oh, great, libbertarians making common cause with PETA. You do know that Burmese pythons are an invasive species, right?
