Brickbat: Walking the Dog(s)
In England, the Hastings Borough Council has enacted new rules banning one person from walking more than six dogs at a time. Those who violate the ordinance face a fine of up to £1,000 ($1,256 U.S.). The rules also ban dogs from a number of public places.

This seems like a pretty weak brickbat. There are probably shitloads of laws all over England more worthy of ridicule than this one.
The British slide into a petty authoritarian dystopia is one of the most fascinating real life horror stories going on at this time.
Agreed.
I’d say the same for our own, but add the word “depressing” as well.
I guess routing the Iditarod through there is out of the question then.
Sure, global warming and all that; surely snow is a thing of the past by now.
I had snow yesterday.
Do you live in Hastings Borough?
Obviously, time for common sense dog control.
Yep.
First guns, then knives, now dogs.
Wow, professional dog-walkers face restrictions? Who knew? This has been standard pretty much everywhere since a long time ago.
I can’t imagine anywhere dog-walkers would exist that wouldn’t also need to do this, since anywhere with enough space and low enough population densities for it not to matter wouldn’t have any call for professional dog walkers.
Of course you can’t imagine anything which doesn’t need government supervision and restriction.
I, an individualist, on the other hand, can well imagine practical reality and free markets limiting the number of dog walkers who routinely try to walk, say, 7 Great Danes, or even a dozen Chihuahuas, what with all those leashes wrapped around each other and the walker’s legs, and dog owners reluctant to hire anyone foolish enough to try it.
Another weak minded statist.
There’s an easy way around that law.
It says “walking” the dogs. So, just tie them all up to your car’s bumper and go for a drive instead. Heck, get a truck and you could probably get two dozen of them leashed up to it.
Or prance. “I’m not walking them, officer, I’m prancing.”
Fabulous!
Just tell the cops that the dogs are cats, or at least that they identify as cats.
