Brickbat: You Can Tell Us

California state Sen. Anthony Portantino, (D–Burbank) has introduced a bill that would require gun owners to annually register their firearms with the state. The registration information would be available to law enforcement agencies. "SB 1160 will give the state better data and help us understand how many firearms are in private hands and who owns them," said Portantino.

Based on old Perry Mason episodes, it seems like this was once in the case.
Gosh, they all went to the murky deep in a boating accident. So, zero.
Good luck when the police get a search warrant because they think you didn't actually lose your weapons.
You say that like Dennis Tuttle was shot dead on a duly executed warrant with his .357 in hand and it couldn't be otherwise.
I don't know how they got here. Probably because of Ohio.
Registration stops all bad.
To clarify as to whether it's the leftists being insane and violating human rights or just being insane by trying to cram their culture war shoe on the wrong foot:
California state Sen. Anthony Portantino, (D–Burbank) has introduced a bill that would require grade school teachers teaching sex ed to minors without parents' consent to register annually with the state.
Or even to triangulate in case it's not clear how far off into the weeds of insanity Team D openly treks:
California state Sen. Anthony Portantino, (D–Burbank) has introduced a bill that would require Catholic Priests teaching sex ed to minors without parents' consent to register annually with the state.
If he's representing Burbank, then it was in his district where a public High School removed "To Kill a Mockingbird" from its library (for promoting a "white savior narrative"). Meanwhile, the people living around there were ripshit over a few districts in Florida removing a book containing graphic illustrations of fellatio from libraries of elementary schools.
Teachers _are_ required to be registered with the state, you drooling moron.
"SB 1160 will give the state better data and help us understand how many firearms are in private hands and who owns them," said Portantino.
They wanna know what you think, wanna know what you do...
"SB 1160 will give the state better data and help us understand how many firearms are in private hands and who owns them," said Portantino.
He went on to say, "That way, once we retroactively criminalize gun ownership it will be easier to arrest and convict seditious offenders."
If I lived in Commiefornia I'd fire up my Bridgeport and lathe. I'd register the ones I bought, I can always make more.
I still have a registered .22 bolt action rifle I used to teach my children how to shoot.
I will hand that one in.
(it is a Daisy no less, designed for kids, so the stock can be adjusted as they grow. Probably illegal in several blue states now)

Is that "the shoulder thing that goes up?" /sarc
Teaching you kids how to shoot? I suppose you also neglect to tell them how evil guns are, and how a proper, subservient and dependent society needs to ban all guns and criminalize ownership.
What kind of seditious MAGA Nazi are you?
Yes.
The finest kind.
You're boasting about committing child abuse? Yet another sign of how utterly insane the US has become.
If the mag tube holds 11 rounds, then it'd be considered an "assault rifle" in Illinois.
In CA, guns can still have any number of "features of assault weapons" if they're not semiautomatic (the law in CA might even specify using centerfire ammo). A 12GA pump-action can be equipped with a pistol grip/telescoping stock combo, and a bayonet mount, but
"“This statue, which requires gun owners to register each firearm annually, is an important tool to remind all citizens of the civic responsibility that comes with owning a firearm. Indeed, the historic roots for this statue trace back to colonial America and serve as a reminder that with ownership comes responsibility,” stated Attorney Brian Hennigan and Loyola Law School Professor Laurie Levenson, who both suggested the bill idea to the Senator."
From State Senator Crapwop's press release.
I've been looking for a high quality machete for a while, maybe G.I. surplus...they're really handy sometimes.
Nope. This should only be required of adult males who constitute the militia, thus making it all constitutional.
So, little girls should be able to arm themselves without interference?
Jews in Germany, Californians in America. Same reasoning.
Seriously, who cares what some libtard shit weasel in California is proposing?
By now, normal people have moved - the only ones left are the embarrassingly mal-educated Hispanic liberals.
Let California simmer in it's own shit juice.
