Nikki Haley's shadowboxing: Last night, the results of Nevada's Republican presidential primary were tallied up. Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who was running basically unopposed, received fewer votes than the option "none of these candidates." Yes, you read that right.

— Corey A. DeAngelis, school choice evangelist (@DeAngelisCorey) February 7, 2024
"The primary, which awards no delegates, had seemed like a foregone conclusion, as former President Donald J. Trump chose not to take part," reports The New York Times. "On Thursday, he will instead participate in party-run caucuses where all of the state's 26 delegates will be awarded, a choice by Nevada Republicans that complicated the process and rendered the primary basically irrelevant."
The dual-primary system in Nevada is confusing and frankly kind of stupid, so Haley's bad showing doesn't count for anything other than embarrassment, and the fact that so many people felt comfortable giving a protest vote doesn't count for much given the utter insignificance of the contest.
Nevada used to, in the past, hold caucuses, but did away with them circa 2021 in favor of a primary with both mail-in and in-person voting. This year, the Nevada Republican Party chose to host an in-person caucus, further adding to people's confusion and the extraordinary chaos that is this election season—one full of Trump skipping debates, Biden memory lapses, Gavin Newsom/Ron DeSantis debate-stage showdowns, oddly high Robert F. Kennedy Jr. polling (?), and "section guy" Vivek Ramaswamy constantly interrupting everyone else.
And it's only February. Someone could still die or go to prison!
Ronna McDaniel gets the boot: Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel has told Donald Trump that she will resign following the South Carolina primary at the end of the month.
"Mr. Trump is then likely to promote the chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, Michael Whatley, as her replacement, according to several people familiar with the discussions," reports The New York Times. "Under the arcana of the committee's rules, however, Mr. Trump cannot simply install someone. A new election must take place, and Mr. Whatley could face internal party dissent."
Though she was not technically fired, "McDaniel has faced months of pressure, a campaign from Trump-allied forces to unseat her and growing dissatisfaction and anxiety in the Trump camp about the strained finances of the R.N.C.," adds the Times. Whatley has consistently curried favor with Trump, endorsing his stolen-election theories.

Several years ago, the Norwegian government forced tobacco manufacturers to comply with a new regulation that standardizes the look of all cigarette packs (as well as all loose and chewing tobacco). They also mandate that 30 percent of the front and 40 percent of the back of each pack must be covered with warning labels.

Of course, lots of countries do this. Plain packaging can be found in Australia, France, the U.K., Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Singapore, and Israel, to name just a few.
But can you imagine having to deal with the pain of living in Norway, land of conformity and high tax rates, while not being able to dull it via a pretty pack of American Spirits?

Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who was running basically unopposed, received fewer votes than the option "none of these candidates."
The Kochtopus Kurse.
So here's the background:
The dueling Republican contests come after the Democratic-led state legislature adopted a state-run presidential primary in 2021.
But the state GOP opted to continue hosting and awarding delegates via caucuses.
It also told candidates that they could not participate in the caucuses if they opted to appear on the primary ballot.
One wonders why Haley chose to appear on the ballot, knowing that she could not win any delegates.
She wanted a political talking point and it hilariously backfired.
Badly.
One wonders why Haley chose to appear on the ballot, knowing that she could not win any delegates.
For a built-in (if also stupid) excuse for when she doesn't win any delegates? It'd be embarrassing to get shutout if she participated in the caucus.
More embarrassing than losing to 'none of the above'?
Slight miscalculation on her part.
Shouldn't have hired DeSantis's team when he folded up shop.
They turned out to be the (D)Santis team instead. Poor DeSantis.
This is why Haley’s campaign doesn’t even rise to the level of “quixotic.” She’s being bankrolled by Reid Hoffman, a Democrat, for the same reason that Evan McMuffin ran a Deep State-funded Presidential campaign and later, a failed Senate run where he convinced the Democrats not to field a candidate–it’s not to actually “win” anything, it’s meant to keep Trump out of office and pwn the conservatives.
If she was serious about this, she’d have gotten a team together that figured out how to market herself to the people she actually needed, which was Trump voters, while bashing Biden relentlessly as being a fucking zombie and a puppet for the rad-left. She’d have been a border hawk who acknowledged the false dilemma put forth by the Open Borders crowd that just because you can’t stop ALL illegal immigration doesn’t mean you can’t mitigate it, using actual historical examples of how it was done. She’d have acknowledged that the GOP voters had been condescended to, strung along, and backstabbed by the McCain/Romney crowd in Congress to get asspats from the media, while the Kristol crowd in the neocon punditry expected them to shut up and just accept their coronated nominees. And she’d have reached out to independents by pointing out that places like Nevada, Iowa, and Florida were trending red because the people who lived in those states might be liberals, but they weren’t theological marxists, and that’s who’s in charge of the administration and the nation’s cultural institutions, ramping up the political polarization while blaming anyone who didn’t go along with them in a national struggle session, while hammering on the fact that, yes, shit is more expensive than it was before Biden took office, and yes, his foreign and domestic policies have been an absolute disaster to the point that people think, by a 22-point margin, that Trump would do a better job.
But she’s not doing that because this campaign is astroturf, not a serious effort to win the presidency. If it was, she’d be scrapping and clawing for every delegate she could get before the convention. But she notably refused to participate in a contest where she might actually win delegates, which is the tell that she’s an avatar and an left-liberal establishment tool, nothing more.
You make a good case. I would change the part about McMullin. He got into the contest when it appeared that Gary Johnson might just win Utah. It was a long shot, but his numbers were good because Utah voters hated Clinton more than they hated Trump. As the least hated candidate, he had a chance to win. McMullin cut into Johnson's vote more than the others.
You make a good case. I would change the part about McMullin. He got into the contest when it appeared that Gary Johnson might just win Utah.
That doesn't make sense, because if Johnson won Utah, McMuffin's stated goal--to deny Utah's delegates to Trump--would still have been accomplished.
McMuffin's candidacy was a spook operation, not a political campaign.
The supposed impotence of third parties was more important than Trump or Biden. If some electoral votes went to a third party, it might force the election into the House which would demonstrate that third parties are important, and worse, it would draw attention to libertarians.
I think it says more that he didn't throw his support behind Johnson's campaign. Maybe he reached out to Johnson and Gary told him to take his spook ass out of there.
Well said.

And then above we've also got:
"Once again I find myself agreeing with Hamilton Nolan: The only way to save journalism, long term, is public funding."
The only way to save journalism, long term, is to stop lying and gaslighting. Stay biased, that's fine, but stop misrepresenting almost everything. The only people who still trust the mainstream media these days are old boomers who never discovered how the internet works and credulous idiots like sarcasmic and Sqrlsy.
Why? Because of shit like your example of what the WaPo pulled.
Yeap. Independent media is surging. But the corporate journalists who have nothing know they will fail on their own.
Tucker interviewing Putin, and the corporate press reaction, are glorious.
Sarc is losing it in that thread.
I'll have to go check that out shortly. Might be good for the lulz.
I’m sure it’s just another coincidence that he’s parroting left wing narratives though. He’s really not a leftist. Just ask him, he’ll tell you.
Tucker is sycophant who peddles lies to promote Trump. Like you. Makes me wonder why anyone other than you and your tribe would pay him any heed. I certainly don't care what he says or does.
And he carries over from the other thread offering literally nothing of value.
You care so little you've talked about him a lot this morning.
Sure, attack dog. Whatever you say.
More dehumanization from Herr Sarc.
If I called you vermin or said you were poisoning the blood of the nation, that would be dehumanizing. Because vermin is something to be exterminated, and poison needs to be removed from the blood.
Comparing you to a barking dog is just that, comparing you to a barking dog.
1. The comment was about communists and Nazis being vermin. If you're going to comment on the quote, at least get it right.
2. If Jesse is a barking dog, does that make you a screeching weasel?
In case you missed it ITL, sarc is so historically illiterate he attributed all deaths caused by commies as being done by governments, not people.
Dehumanizing means what he says it means. Neither more, nor less.
Sarc acting like Humpty Dumpty from Alice in Wonderland again.
I'll add dehumanization to the list.
He's a lying Trump sycophant. No wonder you like him so much. Watching him must be like looking in the mirror for you.
And what are your citations for him being a "lying Trump sycophant"?
Just have to watch the guy for five minutes.
Sure sounds a lot like dehumanization to me, Sarckles. Isn't that the fifth stage of turning into Hitler or something?
I’ve watched Mr. Carlson many times, Sarc. He hasn’t always been friendly nor a fan of Trump. Just because he doesn’t harp on how bad Trump is every 2.5 minutes, doesn’t mean he’s a “lying Trump sycophant”.
Now, claiming Carlson is a “lying Trump sycophant”, is a bit of dehumanization, don’t you think?
If you say so. Whenever I’ve watched him he just spewed pro-Trump propaganda like a fountain of diarrhea.
If I wanted to dehumanize him I’d call him vermin and say he and his ilk are poisoning the blood of the nation.
And yet you’ve provided zero examples.
Sarc never has to defend his bald assertions with evidence. Stop questioning his truth.
Sarc simply rejects reality and substitutes his own. So does Jeffy for that matter.

Does this mean that Sarc is Adam Savage from Mythbusters in real life?
^^ LOL! I shamelessly stole the line from Adam Savage in Mythbusters. Good show.
Mythbusters was pretty good, but did get a lot of firearms related info wrong, often (as I've seen several people unfamiliar with firearms, and even some who claim to understand them) focusing solely on muzzle velocity while ignoring mass of the bullet and bullet diameter and shape. And at least one they got completely wrong as they called it busted but it is a verified historical fact, Hatchcock's confirmed kill through the scope of a NVA sniper.
I mean I haven't even stated a like nor dislike. Just calling out how you continually lie about him and attack him.
Your first impulse on any story is if you hate the person or not. Because youre so principled.
You don’t defend people you don’t like, even when they are right, because you have no principles. And you defend any and all slights against Tucker with attacks. QED you like the guy.
Sarc, aren't you the person here who claimed that if someone he hated liked something, you'd drop it like a hot potato and immediately hate it just because someone you hate likes it?
No, that's what the liars inferred. What I actually said was that it's difficult for me to agree with despicable people. Didn't say I don't do it or that it's impossible. But keep on claiming I said I refuse to agree with people I don't like. You'd probably have a stroke if you said something honest.
JesseAz, got the comment bookmarked?
He had it bookmarked because he’s posted it before.
Being that he is incapable of admitting fault or acknowledging that someone he hates is correct, I doubt he’ll show it. Because it says what I said it says, not the lie you guys say about me.

Yes, you are a despicable person who makes it very difficult to agree with anything you say because that would mean being like you.
Being that he is incapable of admitting fault or acknowledging that someone he hates is correct,
Sarc. Have a cite? Youre projecting again buddy.
Please note this line specifically.
I’d rather disagree with them then have something in common with them.
He is stating his explicit preference.
Idiot drunk forgot what he said again, lol.
What lies?
He continues to push the lie that Tucker lies about Dominion (despite Tucker calling Powell out) and that courts found Tucker lied about it.
Doesn't matter he had been given the actual correct information a dozen times at this point. He just knows his bald assertion is his truth.
The man is a disgrace, and you continue to defend him.
Why? Be specific. Stop using leftist talking points. Defend your assertion with actual evidence.
You know why people settle out of court? Usually it's because they can't win in court.
Cite?
Despite sarc having been told of the pre trial rulings of the facts and how fox only settled after the judge stated those assumptions disallowing multiple defenses in court, in ultra left new york city…. he persists.
You still have cited one lie of his.
And in this thread sadly. He brings his neuroses everywhere.
The press works for the DNC, let them fund it.
but stop misrepresenting almost everything.
Kinder wording than I would use.
They are flat out fucking lying with the intention of deceiving the electorate.
What the whiners don't understand is that before radio and TV broadcast "journolism", newspapers and magazines did provide diverse news and opinion sources, all biased as hell, but open about it.
Then the FCC came along in 1927 (I think) while Hoover was Secy of Commerce, doing the networks bidding to license only favored broadcasters and bring about monopolies, reducing broadcast "journalism" to one toady government-friendly set of opinions. It wasn't until the internet that diversity was restored, and the broadcast "journalism" generation has never gotten over their loss.
Perhaps in a decade or two, they will all be gone, and things can get back to some sort of pre-government-licensed kind of real journalism.
Yeah, if you read anything from about 1945-2000, it becomes pretty obvious that the news agencies, while not necessarily coordinating on stories like the rad-left Journolist, were certainly participating in an industry built on producing a milquetoast, manufactured political consensus. Newsweek even inadvertently admitted this with their "Conventional Wisdom" feature in the magazine that showed which direction a list of political talking points was trending. Outsiders were treated as gadflies and locked out to the greatest extent possible.
And it was even obvious back then that they'd go out of their way to largely promote Democrat politicians and causes, while crawling up the ass of every Republican with a searchlight, looking for dirt to expose and discredit them. This trend actually accelerated after the late 60s once the New Left journalism graduates entered the newspaper industry, and has become even more pronounced in the post-internet age as these schools became increasingly more marxist in ideology, especially after Obama was elected and Wokism was mainstreamed.
Bingo! The new left journolist pretty much poisoned the news industry. When you get only 20% of the population trusting you it's time to go.

Canadian newspapers are all subsidized (read controlled) by the government.
Did you ever wonder why the alleged freedom advocates, Freedomhouse, says that Norway is 100% free, Canada is 98% free, but the US is only 87% free. Because in the minds of Freedomhouse, unless it's supported by the government, it's not "free".
Only the US has a First Amendment that is enforced to the extent that even scumbags get to speak freely. It's not always enforced, but depriving anyone of the right to speak is a serious issue. In Canada, it's barely mentioned in the subsidized press.
Not all. They don't have to take the money, but almost all of them do.

A set of global groups are calling for an mRNA moratorium around covid boosters after release if nee peer reviewed study.
The peer-reviewed study, published in the Cureus journal on Jan. 24, analyzed reports from the initial phase 3 trials of Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 mRNA vaccines. These trials led to the shots being approved under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) in the United States. The study also looked into several other research and reviews of the trials. It found that the vaccines had “dramatically lower” efficacy rates than the vaccine companies claimed.
.
Moreover, based on “conservative assumptions, the estimated harms of the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines greatly outweigh the rewards: for every life saved, there were nearly 14 times more deaths caused by the modified mRNA injections.”

Polyethylene glycol, or PEG...
So everyone who received the mRNA jab got pegged.
Explains the vax cheerleaders.
It has also been linked to a rise in cancers, both new cancer as well as cancer that was in remission.
It's hard to de-convolve the effects of the lockdowns stopping cancer diagnoses from the effects of mRNA vaccines.
This is especially true when the "scientists" involved are idiots about statistics, or should I say "statistically challenged" so as to avoid hurting the feelings of idiots whose incompetence may have killed hundreds of thousands.
Which is why I mentioned the rise in cancer that went through remission. Once at that point they aren't getting new treatments of it, just monitoring. The rise does not correlate with anything due to lockdowns. Lockdoens would just extend when it was caught, not cause a rise of it.
Polyethylene glycol is a common ingredient in a variety of medications, including a number of laxatives, largely because it's indigestible.
On the bright side, the portion of our population that thrives on catastrophic thinking and immediate existential threats have something new to worry about. And some new state salvation to beg for.
On their behalf, thanks.
i love the way people turn to a biased source using strained logic to say something they barely understand.... to pretend it says something else.
this "study" basically did absolutely nothing, but thinks that some things that were not statistically significant might "become" statistically significant if you continued the trials for 10 or 15yrs...... (not like there was any urgency. right?) it is the same pathetic whinging over hypotheticals to justify a decision instead of just saying "i don't want to, you can't make me," and moving on.
It is a peer reviewed study. So you got stuck doing ad hominem against the source that discusses the study. Weird.
no, dipshit.... i followed the link and read the actual study.
"If the Pfizer trial had not been prematurely discontinued, and assuming death rates remain the same in both arms as observed in the first six months, the ACM difference would reach the standard threshold for statistical significance (p < 0.05) at approximately 2.8 years (34 months)."
in other words..... they admit that adverse effects were statistically insignificant in the trial, but they THINK those might have BECOME significant if the trial had been extended for 3 years. that is the crux of what this "study" concluded. that if we had waited for three more years before releasing the vaccine, there might have been a barely significant blip in the data for adverse affects based on an assumption with absolutely zero evidence. that pretty much sums up all the other correlations they try to make, as well...... every "conclusion" in this study requires assumptions not in evidence. and those "conclusions" are not nearly as significant as your pea brain wants to pretend even if they were true.
it is also worth noting that if you want to claim "peer reviewed" means "definitely true," then there is a whole lot of BS you are going to have to admit you are flat out wrong on before i entertain that lame ass appeal to authority. (though not strictly relevant here, since.... as just demonstrated.... you didn't even read the study you are trying to hold up.)
i said it before, i'll say it again..... nobody should ever have even considered forcing anyone to get the jab. if you didn't want it, that was your choice....... but stop with you asinine insistence that your selfishness was actually "smart."
i mean... i remember jackasses like you telling me how EVERYONE who got the vaccine would be dead in 2 yrs.... and now the goalposts have shifted to the point where you are trying to say that an unsubstantiated "study" saying that the negative impacts of thee vaccine MIGHT actually be roughly similar to the outcome of catching COVID........
so, we all basically had the same amount of risk.... the government's excuse to violate our rights ended when the pandemic did..... the end of the pandemic comes when there is enough distributed immunity to keep hospitals from collapsing..... the two ways to get that immunity are getting covid and getting vaccinated....... (circling back to the start...... at worst, equal risk.... now that the goalposts have shifted.)
those of you who refused the jab made it take longer to end the state's excuse to violate our rights..... had roughly the same outcome as those who got the jab (pretending your BS studies are correct..... giving you benefit of the doubt here).......
yeah, fuck you...... the pandemic lasted longer than it should have because of people like you, and the violation of our rights lasted longer because of people like you.
No, we didn't make the "pandemic" longer... the virus is still around and people have learned to live with it. What YOU did was try to keep us locked down and delay the inevitable outcome. All the economic and emotional damage is on YOU, not us.
If anyone else wishes to refute Foo_dd, please do so.
first of all, there is a difference between pandemic and endemic. the delay in transitioning from the first to the second was very much because of those who did not want to get the jab. we dealt with government overreach for twice as long as we otherwise would have if you selfish motherfuckers had realized that they would no longer have the excuse once we had the distributed immunity. (and even if you believe the BS Jesse is peddling…. you did it for roughly the same amount of risk to yourself….. no difference….. just fuck everyone else and let the state hold on to that excuse….. because FYTW.)
second, go and find where i even once supported the lockdowns…. please provide evidence of your claim of what i supported. you can go fuck yourself with that straw man. this is a common problem with stupid partisan trolls…. you don’t understand that thinking you are a selfish moron does not mean i supported every way the other “tribe” was wrong in their own way. you are completely incapable of even imagining a person thinking for themselves.
...growing dissatisfaction and anxiety in the Trump camp about the strained finances of the R.N.C...
I mean, how bad to you have to be to not raise money off of Biden/Harris.
Tangerine Jesus is doing his best to find out.
He's not the one that led the GOP to election defeat in cycles that were theirs to lose only if they fucked up.
The GOP just failed to impeach Mayorkas and offered a bill to legalize invasion from the 3rd world.
They can go fuck themselves.
Yep. And the argument that he would just get replaced with someone else doing the same thing, or that the Senate wouldn’t vote to remove anyway, is bullshit.
Have the impeachment and bring all the communications out into the open. You can’t tell me that wouldn’t be very revealing about this administration’s intentions and put the lie to the claim that they can’t do anything without congress passing a new law. Controlled opposition indeed.
"They can go fuck themselves."
^This
I don't know why I should care about whether that impeachment was failure or success. It's pure politics. There's no substance behind any of it, just signaling.
Of course it’s politics. But as I note, having the impeachment allows information to come into the open that will expose the current narrative as bullshit.
Doesn't matter what the motivation was. Mayorkas deserves to be impeached and needs to be removed. This is urgent.
At least one no vote was done strategically so it didn't end in a tie and the nay vote can call for a revote in the future.
I was watching the Timcast IRL podcast on YT last night when they announced the vote. They listed all four GOP who voted nay for impeachment. Tim Pool was going on about how no one should ever support any of those RINOs or GOPe again. Then someone pointed out why one of them voted no. I still don't understand why, if the vote failed to pass, but ended in a tie, the unsuccessful GOP majority couldn't call for a re-vote in the future. It's unsuccessful whether the vote ended in a tie or in a loss. Must be some weird House rule, I guess.
It's not the ending in a tie, it's that the only people who can call for a revote are the winning side, in this instance the nays (a tie is consider a loss for impeachment), and the party doubted any of the three nay Republicans would call for a revote and none of the Democrats would, so they needed a party faithful, a yea vote to change their vote to have the option to call for another vote. Basically, the only way to revisit it was to have somebody reliable switch to the nays so they could call for a revote later if they so choose.
Got it. Thank you.

And back to 1930.
There’s a reason the memo went out to attack Orban, which you may remember Reason participated in, about the same time Soros and Koch began getting involved with each other.
He should be deported to hell.

The more I think about it, the more I like my idea from yesterday of adding an amendment to ever bill that says killing progressives is legal
They will just change their name.
Real progressivism has never been tried anyways. Those failures were really conservatives.
Think of it as eliminating the unfit. As Oliver Wendell Holmes said "three generations of progressives is enough".
Thus is why we need to return to trial by dual.
Some of you have complained that I use many paywalled links.
I say we boycott Reason until they go behind a paywall themselves. WHO'S WITH ME?
Exactly. Go fuck yourself, Liz.
Just kidding.
Kind of.
Somebody has a crush... and almost Valentines day.
I'm the new White Mike. Except none of you all attack her the way you did ENB so I can't come running to her rescue. Instead, I have to resort to pulling her hair and running away.
You're going to make sarcasmic have a sad. Losing White Mike hit him hardest.

I notice more and more sites let you read the content for free but you have to pay to comment or just read the comments.
Thar's gold in them thar comment sections.
Unless you come across nuggets like Turd.
I've found those sites filled with act blue employees.
What happens when they add government mandated age verification?
I hate news sites with no comments section. There's usually more info and deeper analysis in the comments mixed with the insane rants. DW seems to have pulled theirs and paywalled articles from their known personalities. Even if I approved of their new editorial shift, shutting down comments (and the dissent within them) pushed me away.
I wholeheartedly agree. The comments section is where it's at. Even with sports articles, I want to read the comments section. I hate taking the time to read an article, especially a longer article, then scrolling down to see there is no comments section.
And stop complaining, I need frequent love and validation!
No one told Ms. Wolfe to not going into the comments.
I’d love her frequently
Sure, but frequent validation sounds like... maintenance.
We're not six. If you need someone to buy you a pony and tell you good job, go talk to your real Dad.
The feminists of recent years have argued that women shouldn't have to do "maintenance sex" with their boyfriends. Letting him stick it in you a few times a week seems like a decent trade off if all you want is validation in return.
Unenthusiastic sex in exchange for frequent validation sounds exactly like a feminist proposition.
So, my marriage? Just kidding... Or am I?
Oh, now that was funny. LMAO.
Mrs. medic better not see that, lol.
Now get back on the pole and dance.
What if the sandwich is extra delicious?
>>frequent validation sounds like… maintenance.
one man’s maintenance is another’s ... innuendo.
And one man's giving based on proclamations of need is communist simping... and innuendo.

The only way to save journalism, long term, is public funding.
"Government cheerleaders have the industry captured already so make them pay for it." Is there something to that?
They could mandate you read it! There is something to it.
But then public schools would have to teach children to actually read.
Or just publish newspapers in comics format.
Still too many words. You'd have to do it in emojis.
So we're going back to hieroglyphs.

Sooooo…National Public Newspaper? Will it have dulcet-toned fonts and prose and use Woke-ish terms like “migrant” instead of “immigrant”? Will it still have quarterly Beg-A-Thons even though they are Gummint-subsidized? Will the evening addition be either The London Times or Die Welt?

Could the motto be:
“Democracy Dies In Darkness, Because If The Mob Can’t See You, The Mob Can’t Get You”?
Or, since it will be good for nothing but bird cage lining, will the motto be:

🙂

The mind boggles!
The dual-primary system in Nevada is confusing and frankly kind of stupid, so Haley's bad showing doesn't count for anything other than embarrassment, and the fact that so many people felt comfortable giving a protest vote doesn't count for much given the utter insignificance of the contest.
I dont know. The party eschewing state dollars to decide their own candidate is kind of a good thing in my book.
The state choosing to spend the money anyways is quite stupid though.
…and for you to be told five years from now that, actually, they never removed them, it was all a dream.
I am not ready to read in Reason an overt acknowledgement that gaslighting happens.

Once again I find myself agreeing with Hamilton Nolan: The only way to save journalism, long term, is public funding. There's no secret as-yet-undiscovered business model that can get around that.
Journalists demanding the state fund them for pushing state narratives since nobody wants to support media that is a propaganda arm of one side of the political class remains amusing.
It's like Obama saying healthcare should work as efficiently as the post office.
We need to publicly fund journalists to avoid credibility crises in times of trouble the way we publicly fund academics to publish COVID information!
Yeah, what a fucking shock that marxist journalists like Roberts and Nolan want to nationalize the industry and make it a Pravda-like enterprise.
Keep in mind that Nolan worked at Gawker, that hive of rad-left vermin that Hulk Hogan and Peter Thiel leg-dropped into the pavement.
Soon the chat box started blowing up with comments directed at me.
SHE VEERED FROM THE PARTY LINE.
It is amusing she quoted an actual statistic and was attacked for bringing politics into it.
Did Mitterand know where Jackie was?
Just wait, Joe will ask him to stand up next.
stand up, Frank! oh ... everybody stand up for Frank!
I just know that he voted for Biden.
If you don’t vote Biden, you ain’t Dead.
Liz is wrong, the globalist uniparty loves Nikki. The correct phrasing is no human likes Nikki.
Poor Charles Koch, always backing the wrong horse. And he made Reason write so many nice articles about her too.
hey the Supreme Court said globalist uniparties are people too.
She flashed a look of disgust as she warned me against spreading 'misinformation on trans kids.
So the fact that she stated was incorrect? In that world it probably was, I guess.
Needed more transfacts.
Narratives that identify as facts.
Facts are not trendy anymore. "The Truth" doesn't matter, It's all about "My Truth" now.
Don't worry we'll be back full circle in no time (3rd time my life at least).
My truth protects me (at least the fantasy world I want to live in), your truth is actual violence.
Wait, I thought transfacts are bad for us.
Nah, cisfacts are merely transfactsphobes.
Even the NYT is starting to notice the shit being pushed in the US and Canada is running contrary to the research and that Europe is pulling back big time. Of course they had to blame it (at least in part) as a reaction to conservatives. They almost got there though, almost.
Yale Law's activist group, Students for Justice in Palestine, is claiming an Israel Defense Forces soldier's visit to campus "makes many of us—especially Palestinian Arab, Muslim, Black, and brown students—feel physically and psychologically unsafe and unwelcome in our own school."
I'm waiting for a white boy to say every Palestinian Arab, Muslim, Black, and brown student makes me feel unsafe and unwelcome.
One actually did, but he was immediately beheaded.
Dilbert got canceled.
He can kill with just a look.
And I hope he does.

Are any white boys still in college?
Only self-loathing white boys.
That identify as women.
None that identify as boys (if born that way) or the ones who are and identify as boys probably weren't at birth.
As opposed to how a large percentage of those groups identified don't make anyone feel unsafe by screaming intifada, from the river to the sea, and celebrating Hamas killing 1200 innocent Israelis, mostly civilians, many of which they tortured, raped and then killed (and at least sometimes all three at once per witnesses) during a cease fire, that Israel was largely honoring despite increased violations by Hamas. Oh and has anyone told them that something like 75% of Israeli Jews are "brown people"?

People in China are so mad at the CCP right now that they're going to random US Embassy posts to complain/ask the US for help.
Sorry, the US government is all tied up bankrupting itself.
They could go to Ukraine for some US largesse.
Or wait for Russia to invade China?
No need to apologize. See ya soon, Calfornia has us covered instead of their border.
This is a US Embassy post on Weibo about giraffe conservation efforts. The comments are all like "Help me, I've been unemployed for so long"

Yale Law, ladies and gentlemen.
IANAL, but stuff happening making you feel psychologically unsafe really sounds a lot like a "you" thing.
At least the ones who become trial lawyers will have it easier since anyone with an opposing view, who makes them feel unsafe, will not be welcome in the courtroom.

Are we sure he wasn't referring to Metternich?
Maybe it's some other Mitterand?
I had a chat with Mitterand from the MotherShit from the Mothergland on Mars... Or was it Venus?... Just yesterday. Mitterand and his Mittergland told me that we should all vote for Trump and His Sacred Stolen Erections, because USA democracy does NOT work! And if we re-erect Trump, Trump will END all of this "democracy" nonsense!

My favorite part is, apparently, the German Chancellor asked what would Biden say if Brits kicked in the doors of the House of Commons and killed two Bobbies to prevent the appointment of the PM?
Like the whole thing isn't 100% confabulation and the first thought on the President's mind after Brits sack The House of Commons is/should be/would be "OMG! What will the Germans think?!"
Hopefully they'll be meeting again soon.
I saw he got the name wrong but also the country?
You should see/hear the whole thing. Apparently, he's talking about being at the G7 conference and the German Chancellor being as concerned about J6 as if the Brits stormed the House of Commons to prevent the appointment of a new PM.
At best, it makes the G7 look like an Esurance commercial, at worst it was 'forgot to put my mask on this morning' moment stating that every member of the G7 is politically motivated to take action about any and all of the peasants anywhere within the 7 member states getting too big for their britches. If the British get too uppity and toss out their own PM, the Germans and Italians might have to take action.
Socialism isn't about inducing bland mediocrity. It's about unleashing the creative potential of all.
Black markets are nothing if not creative.
Everyone remembers how not bland and totally creative those old Soviet and Chinese muscle cars turned out.
Muscle cars are wasteful and harmful to the environment. The Soviet Union and China were ahead of their time in hampering their proliferation, yet again proving the superiority of socialism.
Khrushchev called automobiles smelly sofas on wheels. Then again he built the palatial Moscow subway.
Yep, even Jeremy Clarkson and James May were impressed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=So9r_UZI6zQ
James May *would* be. Captain Slow.

Moskvich vs Mercedes
Or the Eight Model Operas of the Cultural Revolution.
Socialism is only “creative” when it operates in a socio-economic environment where its views are not the majority. That’s why the cultural zeitgeist of the 60s-90s was so profound, because the creatives had an “oppressor” to rail against, whether that was “capitalism” or “colonialism” or the “military industrial complex” or “Reaganism” or whatever.
Now that their side is in charge, you have the Eight Model Plays equivalent in 98% of the advertising featuring 13% of the population, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, and Billie Eilish being the top of the musical heap despite a thoroughly mediocre, predictable library, and movies mostly featuring Mary Sue girlbosses or recycled drek with race and gender-swapped characters.
East German housing complexes were very creative.
Especially with the locations for listening devices.
Yeah, like all the cutting edge car designs coming out of Cuba and North Korea.
Michelle Obama created more entrepreneurial activity than any president ever did. By mandating "healthy" foods in school lunches, she taught children about supply and demand, the effects of banning certain substances, the black market, smuggling and how to profit from government stupidity.
Kids may not have learned to read, but they learned about what it takes to succeed in controlled markets.
My auto shop teacher in high skool had full sugar cokes for sale, (all proceeds go to a student BBQ at the end of the year), he said "Mrs. Obama says I can't sell you the full sugar ones, so don't take them! But also I'm never going to check which ones were taken." *wink*

The land of my ancestors that was once rather infamous that for a couple centuries their kings largely didn't die in their own beds (but some may have died in other people's) and who had a resistance leader during WW2 that cross country skied across the country, while wounded, who then sought medical aid from a German SS doctor, while wearing a British Commando Uniform, and convinced the SS that he was also in the SS, and then left the camp and continued his journey, to hit the Nazis again later, and another who fought the Soviets during the Winter War, tried to assassin Himmler, was captured by tye Gestapo, escaped, worked his way through his former enemy's (the Soviet Union) land, traveled to the US, learned how to parachute and jumped back into Norway so he could kill more Nazis, has really let down our ancestors.
"This Bay Area school district spent $250,000 on Woke Kindergarten program. Test scores fell even further."
Local story. Don't care.
Say, did Chris Rufo do anything bad this week?
#RadicalIndividualistsForRacialCollectivism
The context of that story is even more revealing, as the creator of that program has gone on record stating that the United States shouldn't even exist.
This is why you can't take the left's appeals to patriotism and "our democracy" seriously. They don't even LIKE this country or the Constitution, much less have patriotic feelings for it, and "our democracy" simply means "anyone who is marxist."
So how do we solve the libertarian dilemma? How do we coexist with people who want to eliminate us?
You don't. They exercise "stochastic entryism," which is getting marxist activists into institutions to take them over and use them to advance the communist utopia.
So you aggressively gatekeep, whether it's a community, a school board, a hobby group, etc., and make it as painful and uncomfortable as possible for those people to operate there, or deny them entry altogether. Modern marxism relies on voluntarily allowing them free rein--they jawbone you into CHOOSING to go along with them. But they don't have much of an answer to aggressive, persistent resistance, and the refusal to take their arguments at face value, and it often doesn't even take a majority. 17% of Americans refusing to take the Fauci Ouchie eventually killed vaccine mandates and passports stone dead, and now it's just the true believers and closet cases still getting jabs and wearing masks everywhere, and they're looked at like wierdos. 17% of the population caused that. Imagine what a majority can do.
Thus the Heinlein quote, your neighbor may be an officious, gate keeping, foul-mouthed asshole but it takes a special kind to blindside tackle you while you're mowing your lawn because, really, they don't like your politics.
5.56 mm FMJ ot if you like a little more oomph 6.8 mm FMJ, or even more 7.62 mm FMJ. And if you really want to eliminate them (without resorting to cannons) .50 BMG FMJ. If it's close quarters you could opt for a 9mm FMJ or if you're into the classics for dealing with tyrants/fascists, .45 ACP.
And if you're really at close quarters, an M-9 bayonet or KBar works also. 7 inches of cold steel, it makes the green grass grow.
Harrumph! 250 grand wont even buy you a condo in Oakland.
I implore you to either be less cheap or to use special internet magic to get around them. (And stop complaining, I need frequent love and validation!)

The Iran Threat Geiger Counter: Reaching Extreme Danger
Nice little graph even Peanuts can read!
https://isis-online.org/isis-reports/detail/the-iran-threat-geiger-counter-reaching-extreme-danger
Thanks to Donnie canceling their non-nuke agreement Iran:
These grave and concerning changes have led the Institute to raise the total threat score to 151 out of 180, up from 140 in May 2023, and assessed as Extreme Danger, the first time the Counter has reached this level.
Imagine still pretending that an "agreement" stopped Iran from continuing their nuke program. Even after the CIA admits it didn't.
Well, turd certainly is dishonest, but he’s got a heaping helping of stupid to go with his dishonesty. Stupid, lying, despicable steaming pile of lefty shit and proud to be!
This is the agreement Iran openly violated from day 1 and gave Iran a breakout time of 10 years to develop nukes right? And it is 10 years since Obama appeased Iran.
So what are you asserting dummy?
Speaking of Obama’s appeasement:
CBS News (back in the day):
The Obama administration said Wednesday it paid $1.3 billion in interest to Iran in January to resolve a decades-old dispute over an undelivered military sale, two days after allowing $400 million in cash to fly to Tehran.
State Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau says the U.S. couldn’t say more about the Jan. 19 payments because of diplomatic sensitivities. They involved 13 separate payments of $99,999,999.99 and final payment of about $10 million. There was no explanation for the Treasury Department keeping the individual transactions under $100 million.
The money settles a dispute over a $400 million payment made in the 1970s by the U.S.-backed shah’s government for military equipment. The equipment was never delivered because of the 1979 Islamic Revolution that overthrew the shah and ended diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Iran.
On Jan. 17, the administration paid Iran the account’s $400 million principal in pallets of euros, Swiss francs and other foreign currency, raising questions about the unusual payment. The $1.3 billion covers what Iran and the U.S. agreed would be the interest on the $400 million over the decades.
The money came from a little-known fund administered by the Treasury Department for settling litigation claims. The so-called Judgment Fund is taxpayer money Congress has permanently approved in the event it’s needed, allowing the president to bypass direct congressional approval to make a settlement.
Followup edit (also CBS News):
The Obama administration is acknowledging its transfer of $1.7 billion to Iran earlier this year was made entirely in cash, using non-U.S. currency.
That little op was completely promoted by Iran proxy Valerie Jarrett. Ilhan Omar getting busted admitting that she is in Congress as a representative of Somalia and puts Somalia's interests first is of the same nature.
These people aren't loyal to the US, they're loyal to the lands they grew up in.
"...So what are you asserting dummy?"
Pretty doubtful turd has any cogent response to that question. Or any other; he's an abysmally stupid pile of dishonest lefty shit.
turd, the ass-clown of the commentariat, lies; it’s all he ever does. turd is a kiddie diddler, and a pathological liar, entirely too stupid to remember which lies he posted even minutes ago, and also too stupid to understand we all know he’s a liar.
If anything he posts isn’t a lie, it’s totally accidental.
turd lies; it’s what he does. turd is a lying pile of lefty shit.

"The MSM also lie by omission, deliberately."
Fixed.

Yes. Good catch. Thanks for that.
'It is almost like a hive mind.'
Almost?
But sarc said all Tucker is is a Trump lying sycophant. Don’t you respect sarc’s opinion on honesty?
I respect his opinion on honesty about as much as I respect the opinion of a fly that's bothering me.
There is no such thing as selection bias. Youre a conspiracy theorist for knowing this.

I Like Nikki as much as is possible to like any American politician.
She and Trump together could address, and perhaps even solve, many of this nation’s problems.
As unlikely as this is, I hope the GOP will be able to bring the two together.
Is this a Nikko staffer? Very similar to the fake emails Nikki pushed last week saying how great she was.
Trump could do far worse for a VP.
As droolin' Joe has demonstrated...
She'd be Mike Pence II.
Having a MIC vp this time is a good way to get himself suicided.

Is there such a thing as president of the entire Ivy League? If not there should be.
Ok, this is lame = Nikki Haley.
How would you feel if you ran in an election, and lost to NOTA (None Of The Above)? Politicians need freaking rhinoceros skin to cover their ego. Damn, losing to "Uh, having nobody is better than having you".
That is harsh. Politics can be a very rough business.
Having nobody be president sounds really nice actually.
That’s effectively what we have right now. It’s just a bureaucratic apparatus running the country with no accountability.
I’d rather have someone who is actually running things than just letting the bureaucracy continue to empower itself. The state apparatus goes so far beyond who happens to be in the Oval Office.
Long live the King!
Yep. Which completely destroys the reasoning of many staffers here who voted for Biden.
But that’s what happens when you are like children.
"He's so old and ineffective he won't be running anything!" was their supposed libertarian take on it. So, who actually is running things? High placed lifelong government workers who build their power by never pushing back against the administrative state. It's conceptually worse than a Big Brother.
"New FAA chief to tell Congress that agency will consider ‘the full extent of our enforcement authority’ against Boeing"

Isn't there a cabinet-level appointee who has some authority over transportation issues? Are the taxpayers paying whoever is supposed to sit in that chair? Can I get my money back?
Is Buttgag still on maternity leave?
Maybe he's 'helping' Harris with the border issue? Who knows; neither one of them seems capable of accomplishing anything. They need a sand box to build sand castles.
On THEIR dime.
It's almost like they were appointed to fill in some rainbow DEI bingo card.
Well, they got the bingo and we got the booby prize.
Ya think?
"Isn’t there a cabinet-level appointee who has some authority over transportation issues?"
Maybe the FAA told him to fuck off early on.
'Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who was running basically unopposed, received fewer votes than the option "none of these candidates."'
And this is why we need that option on every ballot. We can "save" democracy by voiding the limited choices our betters offer us. But we also need to link voter choice and financial cost. Vote for a big spender, and be prepared to insert your credit card at the ballot box.
We need to start that pay more taxes if you vote for more spending. Less taxes for less spending. We need to start the revolution.
I just wanna say thank goodness Liz is back.
At this point it's like the anti-tobacco folks are throwing a toddler's tantrum over the fact that people just WONT DO WHAT WE TELL THEM!!!
'Yale Law's activist group, Students for Justice in Palestine, is claiming an Israel Defense Forces soldier's visit to campus "makes many of us—especially Palestinian Arab, Muslim, Black, and brown students—feel physically and psychologically unsafe and unwelcome in our own school."'
OK, sure. If you convince yourself that hyperbolic delusionally retarded emotional vulnerability is a virtue, then you should revel in the feelings of immediate death, just from thinking about someone you disagree with. BTW, how did 12 year old girls get admitted to Yale Law?
‘Yale Law’s activist group, Students for Justice in Palestine, is claiming an Israel Defense Forces soldier’s visit to campus “makes many of us—especially Palestinian Arab, Muslim, Black, and brown students—feel physically and psychologically unsafe and unwelcome in our own school.”‘
Warms the heart, don't it?
I would like to have those very same students, Students for Justice in Palestine, to sit down and view 'The Greatest Hits' video of the IDF taking down their 'Hamas Heroes' in the streets of Gaza, like animals.
And then offer all of them a one-way ticket to Cairo to go help Hamas. They can put their beliefs into practice, if they like.
That Nazi trueman thinks they don't need his help. Conveniently.
misconstrueman is an antisemite.
I actually want to borrow your copy/paste blurb about SPB2 being a steaming pile of shit (not the pedarast one!), and just tag him with it. Before I do that, you ok with me informing Readership that misconstrueman is a steaming pile of antisemitic shit?
“Socialism isn’t about inducing bland mediocrity. It’s about unleashing the creative potential of all.”
And Bud Light advertises itself as “drinkable”, but that does not change that it is watered down horse piss. An idea that results in bad outcomes is a bad idea, no matter what the intentions are.
it's not that I don't like Nikki I just don't need to ever see or hear her again
Ronna McDaniel is the latest victim of fact no one can bow and scrap low enough for Donald Trump. She failed to gift him the nomination and she can't raise enough money. All the while she has to contend with Trump sucking up as much money as he can for himself and including using money for his own legal defenses.
If Mike Rowe wants to take on a really dirty thankless job, I suggest he do segment on chairperson of the RNC.
$70,000.00 for flowers.
Ronna McDaniel couldn't win shit from a pig sty.
Ronna McDaniel couldn't get a republican elected even in a one horse race. They would be better off giving the job to George Santos or the more popular "None of the Above"
BTW Santos should change his name to "None of the Above" he'll win in a landslide anywhere.
Ronna McDaniel's has overseen two disappointing (or is it three) Republican Electoral showings. Her ass should have been out after 2022 at the latest. The rank and file voters have been calling for her firing for quite some time.
Be honest, M4E. Are you just Sandra trying to reboot the OBL parody account under a different name?
>>oddly high Robert F. Kennedy Jr. polling (?)
I thought they took the autodialer away from Welch
>>McDaniel has faced months of pressure ... to unseat her
bat .300 make MLBHoF ... bat .000 keep RNC Chair?
>>Yale Law's activist group, Students for Justice in Palestine
Yale Law should understand objections for vagueness and ambiguity?
>>Socialism isn't about inducing bland mediocrity. It's about unleashing the creative potential of all.
Danny Katch thinks he knows more than Kurt Vonnegut?
If there are still any capital-L Libertarians here, does anyone know much about Lars Mapstead? Just heard the name today, looked up his website and he looks solid on the issues - libertarian but without sounding like a crank. Avoids some topics like immigration and abortion that divide the LP but I'm OK with that.
Other than obscurity, is there some skeleton in the closet?
Sorry, don't know him, but I guarantee that if doesn't sound like a crank the mainstream media will take care of that oversight shortly.
If he has the potential of dividing the Republican vote, maybe the media will give him a semi-respectful profile.
Rapists and onanistic pussy grabbers are getting pretty coy about enslaving women. The ROE plank is gutted from the platform, girl-bulliers are universally hated by voters and LP donations and vote share are in free fall. So who can blame the wankers for hiding their swastika armbands and stroking theories about how some ova are "human and alive" but spermatozoa, "not so much." Lars seeks to revive the cowardly straddle plank that invited the Christianofascist Anschluss. See original 1972 plank on abortion (https://bit.ly/46XPQX6)
Thank you for the insightful commentary.
Expecting accountability in individuals including women is not "enslaving women". Call the police if you really believe your nonsense. We'll wait.
>>(And stop complaining, I need frequent love and validation!)
if I'm not picking on you it means I don't care. welcome back, Kotter.
Okay, Liz has officially lost it! Almost everything in today's post made me chuckle. Off the record, I'm going to Norway on a cruise this summer too! I wonder if the experience will unhinge me the way it seems to have done for Ms. Wolfe? I hope so!
Here is Vivek Ramaswamy.

He needs some sort of position of influence. I like him for President 2028 if he can get a prominent political appointment and not come out of it too corrupted by the leviathan. Of all people in politics this past year, he has been the closest to what I want save for possibly Millei, Paul, or Massie.
I'd put him over Massie and a tossup for Paul.
oh also nice impeachment vote you fucking morons do one goddam thing right. thanks!

Geez, does anyone here want just the NPR for news?
Ugh!
Here is Jonathan Turley.

The D.C. Circuit order adds a wrinkle on scheduling by saying that Trump only has until Monday, Feb. 12 to file with the Supreme Court. The standard rules allow Trump 90 days. If he does not, the mandate returns to the District Court which can restart pre-trial proceedings...
I note that the DC Circuit seems to enjoy railroading.
The USSC will likely rule it needs to return to the district courts and follow the standard rules. Which means he can drag it out for quite some time.
.
Fuck off!
No.
Wow some real fucking entitlement there!
Chill dude, and learn to appreciate snark.
Kinda love the tone even though I agree with her sentiments maybe half of the time.
Am I wrong in thinking that Haley doesn't need to campaign or win primaries? It seems that all she needs to do is wait for Trump to be sent to jail, succumb to an assassin's bullet or heart attack or stroke, or prove too gaga with senile dementia to stand for office. In the next few months, at least one of these possibilities is likely to occur and the nomination and maybe the presidency will fall into her lap.
That would invite deSantis to come back.
"That would invite deSantis to come back."
Come back to what? A re-run of all the primaries he'd missed after dropping out of the race? Why deSantis? Why not also invite Pence, Scott and the rest of the drop outs while we're at it?
She might be the front runner if Trump is ineligible after winning the primaries, but the GOP would basically just pick someone else. That would make Desantis viable again.
It is the same thing being considered for Democrats to replace Biden as they attempt to kill their own primary process
You really think in that instance the delegates that went to Trump are going to go to Haley? She has to get that majority to be nominated, and if Trump is out, she doesn't even have that. The convention would pick someone other than her.
You don't need to re-run the fucking primaries to get the party nomination. You need a majority of delegates. And there's no way the ones that went to Trump will get passed over to Haley. They'll go to DeSantis as the Trump Lite with the highest political profile.
"You really think in that instance the delegates that went to Trump are going to go to Haley?"
I don't know what would happen, hence my question. If all the other candidates have dropped out, what choice is there for the delegates but Haley? Haley will at least be seen as resolute and totally committed while the others flip flopping and indecisive with limited commitment to try for the office. DeSantis, for example was elected as governor of Florida, an office he still holds, and is expected to fill. Him dithering back and forth between serving the people of Florida, and pursuing his own political career is not the best look.
I don’t know what would happen, hence my question. If all the other candidates have dropped out, what choice is there for the delegates but Haley?
Because the nominee is whom the delegates ultimately choose at the convention. The primaries are simply there to clear out the candidates and try to get the eventual nominee determined as fast as possible.
But if Trump wins a majority of delegates, and ends up in jail, it's a false assumption that Haley will get the nomination as the only "declared" candidate. The delegates would hash out the nomination at the convention and other people would put their names up, because the Trump voters, which make up the majority of the party's voters, would revolt if she became the nominee.
Yup. If Trump is unable to run but alive and able to communicate any kind of opinion, his delegates will be strongly influenced by that opinion. If he’s dead or comatose, they’ll remember that his last opinion of her was bad.
Literally her only chance would be some kind of scenario where Trump forgave and endorsed her on his deathbed.
"Am I wrong"
Yes.
Nikki Haley, who was running basically unopposed, received fewer votes than the option "none of these candidates." Yes, you read that right.
By the way, this tells you something about how the establishment systems work. There was someone else who ran for president who also literally polled below "other" and I'm betting most people have rightly never heard of him. The reason is, he was running as a Democrat. But yet Nikki Haley is being heavily promoted by the establishment so you'd think she was a major contender.
" he was running as a Democrat."
Stop the presses! Marianne Williamson is a he/him?!?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Anthony_Castro
I truly wish "none of the above" was a standard option and that the result of that choice winning was either a new vote with the top two candidates eliminated or the office is left vacant
Really don't see how this is anything except the court inserting itself into the presidential election. This is a complex and unprecedented prosecution which, if the defendant were anybody except Donald Trump, would take years to adjudicate. The only reason to rush it is to give Jack "8-0" Smith a possible conviction in the district court prior to the November election.
Well yeah, that's the point--they have to get a conviction ASAP, because if they don't, they're terrified that their 3 am ballot dump might not be enough to actually overcome Trump winning the election, if he gets enough minority crossover from Asians, Hispanics, and black males. And if he wins the election, putting him in jail at that point could legitimately kick off a civil war, with states fighting over the electors and the elites in a position where they'd have to do actual banana republic shit to prevent him from being inaugurated. Because once he is, he can pardon himself and all that work will have come to naught.
They can live with Haley or DeSantis being a punching bag for four years. They honestly think Trump's going to have them all lined up against a wall and shot.
Did Florida secede?
Not a mention by Liz, and only one in the comments.
Just for the record, "None of these candidates" (NOT not of the above), describes Trump.
So he beat her two to one without even getting a participation trophy.
(and speaking of why the popular vote doesn't matter, Trump gets all the delegates because he was in the correct contest)
Haley campaigned in the participation-trophy contest because it's the one where Democrats can vote.
So Trumpanzee Liz of girl-bullying fame gloats that an actual non-nazi female got dissed... Where? Nevada was where Antichoice Anschluss Caucasians bushwhacked the Libertarian Party with a fake convention planned in Essen and Alabama. So SURPRISE! Thosee same mystical bigots--that screeched for a Constitutional Amendment to force females to squeeze out Hitlerjugend and die in childbed (the result of coercion)--hate the lady. She wants women treated a little less like slaves and Antibellum rape targets. The NERVE! Women avoid the TEAbertarian Anschluss (http://bit.ly/3ZJI4Ma)
"Though she was not technically fired, "McDaniel has faced months of pressure, a campaign from Trump-allied forces to unseat her"
This is essentially a hostile takeover of the Republican Party. In other contexts, hostile takeovers can only happen when the victim has bankrupted itself (in the case of the GOP morally, financially and politically) and more powerful entities (in the case of Trump demagogically, and in the case of his followers due to political homelessness after having been abandoned by both the Democrats AND the Republicans!)
On one hand a Woke Kindergarten Program is epically stupid. On the other hand, schadenfreude about how it makes test scores go down also seems stupid, since standardized tests are a tool the nanny-state uses to micromanage school systems.
When you're focused on indoctrination rather than reading comprehension and algebra, of course scores are gonna go down. This isn't hard to understand.
wow, what actually happened. hihihi..
She ran unopposed and claimed the vote was rigged against her. Reality will put the Babylon Bee out of business. LOL
