So the School Board tried to ban people from presenting evidence that contradicts the Board. It is one thing to defend the abstract concept of not "banning" books. It is another thing to have the content of a particular book discussed in the open on whether or not it is appropriate for a library collection serving a younger age group.

I worked a 10 month contract for a school system quite a while back; what became immediately evident during that tenure was that school administrators know one style of management, and that is as a teacher or principal; and they try to treat everyone accordingly, i.e., like unruly children. Ask permission to use the bathroom, take your breaks at recess time, and don't ever ever speak out of turn.

I'm tempted to say I don't have a retard in this fight, since neither side is likely interested in expanding freedom. But on further consideration, I have to acknowledge it as at least a small win.
