Be Like Chris Rock
The comedian won last night's Oscars by telling bad jokes, dealing with the consequences, refusing to escalate or apologize, and doing his damn job.

By now, you've almost certainly seen the most exciting moment from last night's Academy Awards show: Will Smith's on-stage slapping of Chris Rock.
It was one of those moments that's so surreal it almost seemed to be staged. But no, that really happened. In response to a joke Rock told about Smith's wife—the comedian mockingly congratulated Jada Pinkett Smith on starring in "G.I. Jane II," an apparent reference to the star's shaved head and recently-made-public struggle with hair loss—Smith strode onto the Oscar stage and delivered a single, firm, right-handed slap to Rock's face before returning to his seat and shouting several expletives at the host.
If you're looking for a beat-by-beat breakdown of the entire incident, James Vincent Michael O'Brien (otherwise known as "Jomboy") as usual doesn't disappoint:

It's not exactly clear how the Smith Slap is going to play in the culture wars, but sides are already being taken. Is Smith, who won Best Actor later in the evening for his performance in King Richard, a strong, masculine role model for stepping up to defend the honor of his wife? Or is he a Hollywood snowflake who can't take a joke? Is Rock a brave joke-teller being physically assaulted for daring to transgress Hollywood's limits on free speech? Or did he get what he deserved for mocking someone with a medical issue?
Frankly, I don't much care about any of that. What's more interesting than the slap itself is what happened immediately after.
Check out how Rock handled himself after being physically attacked by one of the biggest names in Hollywood during a completely unscripted moment. He doesn't flinch. He doesn't hit back, and he doesn't apologize either. He actually laughs at how ridiculous the moment was—"Will Smith just slapped the shit out of me" is now one of the most quotable lines in Oscars history—and then he just…gets on with the show. He seems unintimidated and unflappable.
Chris Rock won the Oscars slap fight. He won it by refusing to escalate the violence and by refusing to ask an authority figure to step in on his behalf—there was no call for "security" and he appears not to be pressing charges against Smith.
He stood up and told a (pretty lame) joke that might offend some people. He suffered some consequences for his words. And then he just kept on doing his damn job by announcing the nominees for best documentary.
That's not to let Smith off the hook here. Physical violence in response to mere words is never an appropriate choice. But too often, the same people who engage in provocative and potentially offensive speech are only doing it so they can run to the authorities or the Twitter mob when their targets lash out. The restraint and good humor demonstrated by Rock should be a role model for those who want to defend free expression from bullies on the right and the left—and from whichever side of the culture war ends up claiming Smith.

.. you've almost certainly seen the most exciting moment from last night's Academy Awards show.
I did not, and I feel pretty good about it.
Likewise
I make 85 dollars each hour for working an online job at home. ALK04 I never thought I could do it but cdc05 my best friend makes 10000 bucks every month working this job and she recommended me to learn more about it. The potential with this is endless.

You mean a movie called "CODA" (which I hadn't heard of until yesterday) beating a movie called "Power of the Dog" (which I couldn't watch for more than 30 minutes before falling asleep) for "best" moving picture show?
I was happy to see that "Coming 2 America" was nominated for an Academy Award though.
Sure, it was for makeup and hairstyling, but it will forever be an "Oscar nominated film".
I tried Power of the Dog and likewise couldn't see anything beyond perpetual assholes and accommodating victims.
But Jane Campion the Power of the Dog director has it a lot tougher than Serena and Venus Williams because she has to compete against MALE directors, while they only have to compete against female tennis players (they dodged Rene Richards back in the day).
“And Serena and Venus, you are such marvels,” Campion continued. “However, you do not play against the guys like I have to.”
I guess directors have to lug the cameras around by themselves, I didn't know. But it makes me wonder how Orson Welles got so out of shape.
I thought Hollywood wanted open competition in women's tennis....
Orson Welles got out of shape because he ate and drank too much.
On The Dean Martin Celebrity Roast, Orson Welles responded to Dean Martin's digs on Orson's weight by saying: "At least my weight is measured in pounds. Yours is measured in gallons." 🙂
By the bye, The Dean Martin Celebrity Roast is an excellent, no-holds-barred series from a bygone era when humor really existed! You can see it with minimal commercials on Tubi.tv
I love those! Seen the Jimmy Stewart one?
I'm getting to it.
I'm trying to watch them in order of occurance but every day I go back to Tubi.tv, it takes me back to the first episode. It's almost like they want you to do one continuous binge. Must see if I can tweak that.
At your recommendation, I skipped forward to watch it. Everyone was in top form that night! Don Rickles as ruthless as ever! Mickey Rooney short jokes! Rich Little's seamless impersonations! Red Buttons "Never Had A Dinner" speech, Foster Brooks with his drunk shtick, and, of course, Dean Martin with his drunk reality!
Whatever their politics, they had no problem cutting down J8mmy Carter, especially over the Panama Canal. And not a sleepy or Woke moment from beginning to end!
And Lawanda Page…
The Sinatra one is the best. Regan had the winning comment (he was not an elected official yet) "frank here was my campaign manager and with out his help I probably would have won
Any of them involving The Rat Pack are a scream! When Dean threatens to call Frank, the audience always roars!
Just another example of black on black violence.
Can this puzzle ever be solved though?
Not until it’s recognized.
We’re too busy canceling to recognize anything.
If Chris Rock put a black pocket comb under his nose and started ranting in German, you'd be triggered enough to want to give him a one-way train ticket.
Fuck off, Nazi!
ALL ABOARD! WHOOO WHOO hahaha
You better hope John Henry The Steeldriving Man doesn't drive a spike in your boiler or you aren't getting anywhere. Your skull calipers don't show shit.
Fuck off, Nazi!
Educate yourself. There’s nothing racist about scrutinizing the tenets of a religion and holding voluntary members of that religion accountable for advocating them.
The holiest prayer in Judaism on their holiest day is clearly a plan to lie. The faithful can lie for another year with the comfort and blessing of their religion. If Satan is the father of lies, members of the Jewish religion are his faithful children.
Here is the Kol Nidre text. The holiest Jewish prayer on the holiest Jewish day.
“All vows, obligations, oaths, and anathemas [curses]which we may vow, or swear, or pledge, or whereby we may be bound, from this Day of Atonement until the next we do repent. May they be deemed absolved, forgiven, annulled, and void, and made of no effect: they shall not bind us nor have any power over us. The vows shall not be reckoned vows; the obligations shall not be obligations; nor the oaths be oaths.”
Who brought up religion here? I thought the topic was "race."
I as an Atheist lambaste the Supernatural and Faith, regardless of who espouses it.
And, now this is crucial, I do it without supporting violation of anyone's right to Life, Liberty, Property, and Pursuit of Happiness.
That is world's apart from your apologetics qnd apple-polishing for a regime that attempted to exterminate the Jews and other whole groups of people in the name of Occultic Aryan Supremacy and Positive Christianity.
Again, Fuck off, Nazi!
Every time you refer to the holocaust hoax, with the trigger word “Nazi”, in support of the material interests of the members of the lying Jewish religion.
You do.
Another black, another crime.
One naturally follows the other.
Blacks = crime
Nice demographic change at the Oscar’s.
What’s next, looting?
Me neither.
Be Like Chris RockNo, and don't be like Will Smith either. Stream, listen to, and read anybody but either of these damn jerks.
Or better yet, create your own entertainment, even if it involves kazoos, whimsy-whistles, jaw-harps, tapping and bending a crosscut saw, thumping a #10 washtub bass, fiddling a cigar-box violin, banging pots and pans, scratching a washboard, playing spoons, blowing on a moonshine jug, and playing comb-and-tissue-paper, all while singing "Does You Chewing Gum Lose It's Flwvir on the Bedpost Overnight?"

Believe me. It's gotta be better!
Correction: Flavor. I tried texting with my mouth full. 🙂
No plastic flutes on your list?
Holy shit, SQRLSY might actually be right about something. The hate is real!
Oh, sorry. The error of omission is mine. If it plays eight notes, lung flutes are welcome too. This will add to the improvisational and cointercultural ambiance created by what is known as Skiffle Music

"Or did he get what he deserved for mocking someone with a medical issue?"
A medical issue? I didn't realize all these years that bald men were suffering from a medical issue. Is that medical issue covered by Medicare?
How is being compared to a Navy SEAL an insult? He was saying that she looks like a badass. At least, that's how I took it.
I remember when my mom lost her hair due to chemo. When it started growing back in she looked like a badass. Very Susan Powter. She looked decades younger. I told he she should keep it that way rather than going back to her "old woman" hairstyle. She did not take my advice, sadly.
Black women can Really get upset about their hair.
"Keep my wife's pussy out of your mouth!"
I think the truth of the matter, is he has years of pent up cuck rage energy from having multiple dudes dicking his wife down, and he could have flipped that switch on anyone that mentioned her name.
Yeah, he's obviously a brittle shell of a man. Don't stay with cheating harpies, guys. It will cost you more than you realize.

Sounds like a self-imposed break on pornhub is in order.
Porn would never drive anybody to act like Will Smith. James Dobson was a sucker for Ted Bundy's slick tongue to the contrary and used Bundy's words on the gallows to promote American Family Association's anti-porn agenda.
I meant JimboJr's comment, sounds inspired by certain content
Was wondering if you're that much of a dipshit. Will Smith lives as an open cuck and he and his wife have talked about their open relationship in the media.
Genuine Cucks aren't angered by their wives getting fucked by other people. ...They love it! I guess it relieves performance anxiety or maybe is fulfilling Bi/Pansexual urges.
Now whether that applies to anyone here is a matter for trained professionals or the vestry room wall. 😉
By the way, Right-Wingers call their enemies "Cucks," Left-Wingers call ther enemies "Incels"...
And Libertarians just say: "*F-F-F-F-F-F!* Hey, man! I met that dude at PorcFest, CPAC, the local gun show, and ComicCon!" 🙂
Hahaha. Nice.
And the female equivalent of Cuckolds who like watching their men fuck and getting fucked are called Cuckqueans. Not as common in the porn search engines, but they do exist...Definitely a keeper, fellows!
🙂
I'll end comments there.
Genuine cucks find themselves on the horns of a dilemma.
Yes. Cuckolds are either 15-point bucks or a meeting point for 15 other bucks. 🙂
Thing is, Will had admitted it bugged him before. Her "close friendship" with Tupac while they were dating bothered him. The "open relationship" was her idea, not his.
She has turned him into a cuckold. He did not want it and it is tearing him up.
Men and women need to not stay with partners who clearly have no respect for them.
Agrèed. Cuckolding and Cuckqueaning and any form of Swinging or Polyamorous relationship takes a certain constitution that either isn't jealous or can stave off jealousy and isn't for everyone.
But that said, initiating violence is not a justified way to handle this problem. If Will and Jada can't work it out, they simply need to part ways and don't take it out on dumb comedians.
I'm rather confident the hypothesis that this is Will's frustration at polyamory is crap, though predictable (again, see pornhub search trends). They've spoken in depth of frustration of life in public limelight, whether you sympathize or no. She publicizes her health issues, you can say it is attention whoring or also a way of getting ahead of the inevitable online scrutiny and owning it.
I do think public ridicule / emasculation jokes of Smith for allowing polyamory could conceivably play a role – too painful to face another round of it combined with his wife feeling unprotected and intimately ridiculed. Reminds me of the gruesome scene in Crash with Thandiwe Newton and Terrence Howard.
Of course, not really any of my business end of the day. Ignorance gonna ignore.
I'd note that the joke Regina Hall made about their polyamory was far worse than the crack Rock made about GI Jane.
Perhaps Jada was pissy about his joke at the 2016 Oscars. She boycotted and he said something like "Her boycott of the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna's panties. I was not invited"
Genuine Cucks aren't angered by their wives getting fucked by other people. ...They love it!
Cool story, bro. It's bullshit, but you can probably find plenty of people to play along.
-jcr
Do you know Cuckold's heads better than they do? Why would Cuckolds go to all the trouble to not only engage in Cuckoldry, but post videos of it on Porn sites if there wasn't a fondness of some people for it. Rule 34 is a bitch, Man.
"He seems unintimidated and unflappable"
I guess you watched a different clip. He seemed like he just got slapped in the face. He scrambles for words, and seems very disoriented and awkward as hell.
I think it was great on all sides. Comedians need to be funny assholes, without apology. They are about the only thing left in society that isnt 100 percent woke-zombie PC trash. But the threat of getting the shit slapped out of you needs to also be real. This microcosm is how the world is supposed to be.
Granted, I dont think the lady he was defending is actually worth defending (or anything, really) but thems the rules. You talk shit on someones wife, there is a chance you get hit. And thats fine.
"It was a G.I. Jane joke!"
Best line of the night.
He's a bitch for not roasting her immediately after the slap and for the rest of the night.
I think you could see him making the decision "do I actually tell the real joke" and double down.
Would have loved if he took the gloves off and got him for the cuck stuff.
Finally got to watch the clip and I agree. You could see gears turning in his head, and I think Rock realized that he had to let it go. He literally owned the stage and certainly could have gotten in a cutting shot or three, but then it would have absolutely ruined Smith's night, made the situation much worse, and in the end Rock would have been blamed for everything.
I agree. I thought he really shined when smith was yelling at him and he politely asserted that he was going to do what smith told him to. I think he said “I’m going to.” Something to that effect. But it wasn’t snarky and I don’t know how he was able to stifle sarcasm with the whole crowd waiting for his response.
He really rolled like a pro. Smith is a narcissistic piece of shit with some real delusions of grandeur. He has let his fame go to his head in a pathological way. He’s sick and perhaps his antics last night were a cry for help. Fuck smith.
He definitely had something come to mind that he stopped himself from saying.
He shouldn't have.
Sure, he handled it "professionally" in a world conditioned to corporate cowardice.
It would have been far healthier for him to nix the script from that point on and deliver a verbal evisceration of Jada (and Will) instead.
Handling it professionally would have meant filing a complaint of assault.
Smith is an asshole.
Rock handled it professionally.
Rock is the subject of this exchange.
If Will Smith was any kind of a civilized human being, he would have roasted Chris Rock and said: "Now you know why Everybody Hates Chris, folks. " Then gave a plug for a favorite anti-cancer charity. That would be the ultimate mike-drop!
Rock's lawyer should give Smith's lawyer a call and offer the following: either Smith makes an abject, public apology, cuts all ties with that criminal nut-cult he's mixed up with, and gets competent mental health care, or Rock presses charges.
He shouldn't even go for the seven-figure settlement he's entitled to.
-jcr
I wasn't aware Will Smith was a member of the Liminal Order.
Worst kept secret in Hollywood.
I like your suggestion. And I only watched the YouTube clip.
I disagree with the author. I think Rock’s response was embarrassing.
Call me a name, no problem. Lay a hand on me? You’d better watch the F out.
I heard Chris Rock refuses to perform on university campuses
As Greg Gutfeld noted, he (Chris Rock) was about to say something and caught himself.
How is that in any way admirable? He was assaulted on stage in front of witnesses and his attacker was able to go back to his seat and later accept the academy’s highest award without any consequences. Rock shouldn’t have had to call for “security” – they should have immediately escorted Smith from the event once they saw the broadcast or footage of what just happened. And if he hadn’t have been an A-lister, someone else would have had to accept his award for him while his wife picked him up from the police station.
This is the correct answer. It's really not a difficult or controversial issue.
This. Imagine if it has been Bill from lighting charging on stage to slap Chris Rock. Imagine if he'd been white.
SUPREMACIST!
On every headline in the country
"...symptomatic of the ever-increasing power of white supremacy in the country bladdefuckin'blah..."
First of all this was probably the single most clearly staged PR stunt since Janet Jackson popped her tit out at the Super Bowl. Second of all libertarians are typically pacifists and there's certainly some merit to not escalating violence if you don't need to. If Jesus Christ had laid siege to the sanhedrin and announced a military campaign against the Roman prefect he'd be a forgotten historical footnote like the dozens of other Jewish messiahs from the first century.
However, the pacifist take is an interesting one coming from a warmongering propagandist like Boehm.
Libertarian is a very broad base but generally the non aggression principle prohibits initiation of violence. Violence in response to violence, totally justified. My guess is any actual historical record of JC would have looked something like this nowadays.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdUIqKJyD0Q
clearly staged PR stunt
I don't think so. Smith was obviously not in control of himself. All those years of cuck humiliation came out and he lashed out, not at the punks who fuck his wife, or his cheating wife herself, but at a comic who made what was a pretty mild joke that Smith laughed at himself before he saw that the bitch wasn't happy about it.
-jcr
Agree, Rock was pretty flustered as things settled down and he flubbed the segue to the Documentary award.
"someone else would have had to accept his award for him while his wife picked him up from the police station."
Nah bullshit.
This wasn't "Assault" it was a slap in the face. The idea that every ounce of violence ought to result in a trip to jail is authoritarian bullshit. Smith was wrong, but we don't need to remedy every wrong with the fullest extent of the law. This zero tolerance bullshit is how you get the over-policing of america.
I agree with Boehm- Rock mouthed off, got a slap and nothing else happened and that is ok.
Bullshit, this was assault and the idea that you get to go around hitting people, but only so much, is idiotic in the extreme. Will is an adult and he can control his actions or he can face real consequences for it.
It was battery according to California law.
"Will is an adult and he can control his actions or he can face real consequences for it."
And those consequences ought to be scorn and shame for a couple weeks. Not a trip to jail. *shrug*
The medieval thinking that passes for modern social justice is stunning.
Try this on the cop that offends you by purposely mispronouncing your name, or by making fun of your car, or your obese family in the passenger seats. You would be rightfully cuffed and stuffed for battery and your family left on the roadside to fend for themselves. Do we give Will Smith a pass because he's black? Do we tell Chris Rock to "suck it up" because that's what men do? Fuck that. Civil behavior isn't what we in civil society should consider "optional". The initiation of physical violence should never be tolerated.
Personal feelings of offense are not permission to physically batter or assault another person. Will Smith should have been escorted from the premises into an awaiting squad car and taken to jail. Chris Rock should sue the stupid SOB for every penny he has. As it stands Will is actually subject to prosecution because, although almost no one witnessed it live, millions of people have watched the video...and its irrefutable proof of battery.
Rock should have intoned, “Your challenge is accepted, sir! Your choice of pistols at Dawn!” Or some such.
A peasant would've been hauled out in cuffs
And that is an indictment of the over-policing of america, not Will Smith.
I think it is a damn shame that kids getting in a fist fight can get them sent to jail, or the fact that someone has to go to jail when police get called to a "domestic disturbance". Or that a kid faces expulsion for bringing a pocket knife to school accidentally. But here we are in a zero tolerance world. It's wrong that we apply this to plebeians and it would be wrong if applied to Will Smith.
The problem is that elites are exempt from the rules they impose on others.
Carrying a pocket knife, deliberately or accidentally, is not like these other acts. I had a pocket knife since age 9 and never thought to use a pocket knife to commit crimes.
"Social Justice is neither" is correct.
While a stiff slap isn't a big deal in the scheme of criminal activity, it also isn't tolerated in most of society.
If slaps were acceptable among adults, I might pop 3 or 4 people a day and get an equal number in return.
But if you slap someone as an adult, you can expect to be arrested.
Assault and battery. This is exactly what the law is for, and why we pay taxes. Would Smith have done the same if it was Nick Diaz up there, a 200+lb trained killer with a bad temper? Somehow I doubt it. He wanted to flex on someone who he's got 4" and 40lbs on - someone who'd let him get away with it - like most people do.
What should the consequences be if it was Amy Schumer up there? How about if it was Sean Stephenson, who would've been killed by a slap like that? Even perfectly healthy looking people have been killed by less. That's why the law is what it is, and not what you want it to be.
In no line of work can you slap/punch a co-worker and not be tossed out post haste.
You know it's kind of funny what pussy's men have become. I certainly don't condone flagrant violence but it used to be when men stepped out of line, or perceived to they were expected to be able to handle a punch, and either take it, or give it back.
Now honestly if Will Smith slapped me I'd take it and not mix it up with someone that much younger and bigger, same as Rock.
But I have to give Rock props, no real damage was done, he can take at least a slap and handle it well and not go crying about it deserved or not.
I'll also note in ancient Anglo-Saxon law there was no law against even murder, only secret murder. If you knew did it it was up to your family to handle your own business, I'd say that's not a bad rule for grown men, as long as it's a single simple slap or punch.
I'd have just gone after them dozens of times harder.
"Your wife coming out of my mouth isn't your problem. Me coming out of hers is."
I'm wih you here. I was disturbed, though not surprised, that some of my co-workers were defending Will Smith. Fortunately, two of them shot back that Will was a bully. In that little corner of the world at least, the dignity culture that makes the U.S. and The West the best still lives. and for that, I'm happy.
But then when I got in my vehicle to go home that night, I hear talk show host Michael Knowles saying that "gently" slapping someone who insults your wife is perfectly justified. Knowles is also known for saying other retrograde SoCon/NatCon nonsense and shilling for The Roman Catholic Church (evidently a growing thing among members of The Right nowadays.)
But I'm thinking: " Damn! Would this guy go back to men duelling in the streets with pistols over gash?"
I quickly got the Hell home after that, glad that I didn't stop for gas and make an off look or cross word at somebody's marital property. Truly, a New Dark Age is something lurking among us if we don't hold it back.
Holy crap! Sarc is Will Smith!
Nah, Will Smith didn't challenge Chris Rock to a fight and then pussy out and invite him to the glory hole of a Ministry concert.
Since Will Smith sung about Mee-ami, I'm sure he knows what a Cuban sandwich is. 🙂
Don't know. Don't care. Let the law handle it if they are called in. Otherwise just as distant from me as the Oscars.
Looking forward to red carpet drive bys
That wasn't a slap, that was a punch with a closed fist.
Whatever it was, it was weak as hell
According to the top 13 percent of leading scientists, harder is always better. In fact, they claim that about 50% of the hardest cases can be attributed to them personally.
Is this a reference to black people?
Is that just icky ole run of the mill science? Or is it The Science (TM)? Because I only believe in the latter!
really happened. and staged.
Well it happened ON a stage…
You know, Sir Lancelot got A letter….
You know, here's the thing...
1) Chris Rock was the aggrieved party. Only his opinion on the incident matters, not that stops the preening harpies to make their opinions known, does it? He chose not to press charges. That's the end of it.
2) Will Smith's reaction was not ideal, but the question is whether or not someone insulting a man's family in public is "provocation", in our society, isn't it? I don't know, "woke libertarians", should our society allow people to say whatever they want in public space without ANY consequences by parties aggrieved by their speech? Does that not invite a different kind of injustice, which apparently some people?
3) Some of you people are clearly having difficulty differentiating between POLITICAL speech rights and just being an a-hole. One is protected. The other is not. Good grief, the average IQ opinions never fail to disappoint.
There is also the public figure aspect to the whole thing. Jada Pinkett-Smith is a public figure. She's fair game. Is that right? Maybe, maybe not. But it's not like Chris Rock insulted a famous actors unknown wife. Or insulted some unknown walking down the street.
When you walk down the aisle in front of everyone, get your picture taken on that mini-stage so people can take your picture, and then when you go sit in the front row of of the Academy Awards, you're a public figure. Meaning you're fair game for public figure comedians of the world.
It was Will Smith who initiated force by punching of Chris Rock. It's beyond clear who was in the wrong here. Don't be making excuses.
She has also tweeted about her hair and I'm sure she's actually shared videos of her shaving her own head. Some people were falling over themselves to talk about how good she looks with no hair. I don't know how you can pretend this is some kind of private, personal thing when you're telling the whole world about it, and receiving praise and support.
It's not like Chris Rock made a joke about all the men she's been sleeping with. That really IS her own business.
No more so than her self-pitying attention-whoring over her alopecia. She's discussed all the guys she fucks out in public multiple times as well. It's no more private than any of the other dirty laundry that entire family full of attention whoring cretins airs on an hourly basis to keep their public profile up.
"I'm going to be offended as a virtue signal, and because nobility isn't to be clowned like mere peasants."
-Jada's thought process
"It's not like Chris Rock made a joke about all the men she's been sleeping with. That really IS her own business."
Good money THAT is why Will attacked. Because Rock had not shamed him yet.
Unlike his wife, who has cucked him eight ways from Sunday.
Nah man. Sure, he shouldn't have - but I'm not gonna say he's in the wrong either.
You don't meet words with fists. This is not the deep south. Sheesh.
I've been told that this is the kind of diverse approach to problem solving that the Oscars were always hoping to achieve. We need to learn better puzzle solving skills from the leading 13 percent of puzzle solvers.
The puzzle solvers know that a slap is certainly an appropriate response for someone announcing the solution to the daily Wordle before they have solved it.
>>aggrieved by their speech
a glove and dueling pistols or it's just Fresh Prince being a bitch.
>>aggrieved by their speech
Concur. Insult a man's wife and that man(if he is a man) must issue a challenge. Rock backed down, acknowledging that he stood corrected (or was too pussy to select weapons)
Will was laughing at the joke until Jada gave him the "I'm supposed to be offended" face.
Neither of them have a genuine bone in their body.
Although Jada has a variety of genuine bones inserted by other men from time to time
Will was laughing at the joke until Jada gave him the "I'm supposed to be offended" face.
I'm not even sure it wasn't the obligatory "Ugh, a bald joke." face and Will just decided to go full retard.
In West Philly, they drop bombs from helicopters.
always love the yearly reminder of the incident.
It wasn't a good decision, it was a Goode decision.
In Cincy they drop turkeys.
as God is my witness ...
If he has a Rick in his shoe and a Burr in his side, Will then it’s Hamil-time!!!
When the man and his family are attention whores who have publicly aired their dirty laundry, including the man sitting there sobbing like a bitch on national TV while his wife detailed her heretofore unknown sexual liaison with a man half her age, "MUH HONOR" is weak tea.
Secondly, how fucking old are you? Someone makes an innocuous joke and you're justified in cold sucker punching him? Grow up. If this hadn't been a staged publicity stunt, the Fresh Prince might well have ended up in a heap on the floor in a pool of blood wondering if he was going to live or die. For fucking what? That lame ass 30 year old cultural reference?
) Some of you people are clearly having difficulty differentiating between POLITICAL speech rights and just being an a-hole. One is protected. The other is not.
Fuck you. Both are protected.
No, being an asshole is just as protected as political speech. There is no excuse for violence in response to an insult. Your wife is perfectly capable of defending herself against words. Go join the fucking woke SJW shitheads if you think speech is literal violence or is appropriately responded to with violence.
Especially a bald joke. Patrick Stewart should just have everyone at the Oscars gunned down and say he was provoked.
LOL
Thank you for the scene that just flashed through my imagination
Not Sit Patrick. He'll just talk them to death until everyone is holding hands and singing Kumbaya before the end credits roll. Now Bill Shatner on the other hand would have given them both phaser banks and a photon torpedo for good measures.
I guess I was the only one who saw the movies.
Yeah he went batshit on the Borg in the movies, after he initially tried to live in peace with them. Occasionally Picard grew a pair, but more often than not he sought some form of consensus. The Crystalize Entity for example, a being that destroyed worlds and he wanted to communicate with it, and then condemned it's destruction.
Also, Sir Patrick is very capable of going full Sejanus on someone.
Patrick ain’t no Saint!
Nah, when you and the cheating skank you call a wife put your marital issues on national tv it is no longer a private matter.
Will and Jada have both shown that they have no respect for their marriage so why should I? Further why should I have respect for a spineless broken cuckold and the snake that abuses him regularly?
All speech is protected slaver.
Speecb can have consequence, but only speech back or refusal to associate or do business with someone. Consequences do not mean criminal or legal violence in a free society.
And yes, free speech and expression are more than just political and people have a right to be assholes as long as they aren't initiating force or fraud.
Yes, Chris Rock was an asshole in his speech and the proper response should have been being an asshole in speech back to him or shunning his company, not physical violence.
Be Like Chris Rock
You mean a heel?
Yes.
nice try yeeee

I didn't watch the stupid show, but from what I read, apparently Schumer was ripping off Ricky Gervias' entire act from one of his Golden Globes gigs, and badly at that. Keep this untalented bitch pimping tampons where she belongs.
How is Amy Schumer like a tampon?
She's white, up tight, and outa sight.
Oh….well that’s kinder and gentler than “They’re both stuck up cunts” I suppose…
If she wasn't a member of Chuckie's fam, she'd have no career
Thank you, Reason, for your impactful article on the world's most pressing issue.
Today is the 169th anniversary of Great Britain declaring War on Russia for... some reason.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimean_War
It has widely been noted that the causes, in one case involving an argument over a key,[5] had never revealed a "greater confusion of purpose" but led to a war that stood out for its "notoriously incompetent international butchery".[6]
Sound familiar?
"Publicly, European politicians made broad promises to the Ottomans. Lord Palmerston, the head of British diplomacy, said in 1839: "All that we hear about the decay of the Turkish Empire, and its being a dead body or a sapless trunk, and so forth, is pure and unadulterated nonsense. Given 10 years of peace under European protection, coupled with internal reform, there seemed to him no reason why it should not become again a respectable Power".[15] Needless to say, nothing like this has happened after 10, 20, or even more years."
Sound familiar?
"Britain's immediate fear was Russia's expansion at the expense of the Ottoman Empire. The British desired to preserve Ottoman integrity and were concerned that Russia might make advances toward British India or move toward Scandinavia or Western Europe. A distraction (in the form of the Ottoman Empire) on the British southwest flank would mitigate that threat. The Royal Navy also wanted to forestall the threat of a powerful Russian Navy.[23][page range too broad] Taylor stated the British perspective:
The Crimean war was fought for the sake of Europe rather than for the Eastern question; it was fought against Russia, not in favour of Turkey.... The British fought Russia out of resentment and supposed that her defeat would strengthen the European Balance of Power.[24]"
Sound familiar?
"Because of "British commercial and strategic interests in the Middle East and India",[25] the British joined the French, "cement[ing] an alliance with Britain and... reassert[ing] its military power".[25] Among those who supported that point of view was Karl Marx, in his articles for the New York Tribune around 1853. Marx saw the Crimean War as a conflict between the democratic ideals of the west that started with "great movement of 1789" against "Russia and Absolutism". He described the Ottoman Empire as a buffer against a pattern of expansionism by the Tsar.[26] Other statements by Karl Marx were accusations against the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and then the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Palmerston, that he played along with the interests of Russia and that he was "bribed by Russia".[27] Today, these accusations are completely ignored by historians."
Sound familiar?
"Mikhail Pogodin, a professor of history at Moscow University, gave Nicholas a summary of Russia's policy towards the Slavs in the war. Nicholas's answer was filled with grievances against the West. Nicholas shared Pogodin's sense that Russia's role as the protector of Orthodox Christians in the Ottoman Empire was not understood and that Russia was unfairly treated by the West. Nicholas especially approved of the following passage:[28]
France takes Algeria from Turkey, and almost every year England annexes another Indian principality: none of this disturbs the balance of power; but when Russia occupies Moldavia and Wallachia, albeit only temporarily, that disturbs the balance of power. France occupies Rome and stays there several years during peacetime: that is nothing; but Russia only thinks of occupying Constantinople, and the peace of Europe is threatened. The English declare war on the Chinese, who have, it seems, offended them: no one has the right to intervene; but Russia is obliged to ask Europe for permission if it quarrels with its neighbour. England threatens Greece to support the false claims of a miserable Jew and burns its fleet: that is a lawful action; but Russia demands a treaty to protect millions of Christians, and that is deemed to strengthen its position in the East at the expense of the balance of power. We can expect nothing from the West but blind hatred and malice.... (comment in the margin by Nicholas I: 'This is the whole point').
— Mikhail Pogodin's memorandum to Nicholas I, 1853"
The Soviets made several demands, including that Finland cede substantial border territories in exchange for land elsewhere, claiming security reasons—primarily the protection of Leningrad, 32 km (20 mi) from the Finnish border. When Finland refused, the Soviets invaded. Most sources conclude that the Soviet Union had intended to conquer all of Finland, and use the establishment of the puppet Finnish Communist government and the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact's secret protocols as evidence of this,[F 7] while other sources argue against the idea of a full Soviet conquest.[F 8] Finland repelled Soviet attacks for more than two months and inflicted substantial losses on the invaders while temperatures ranged as low as −43 °C (−45 °F). The battles focused mainly on Taipale in Karelian Isthmus, on Kollaa in Ladoga Karelia and on the Raate Road, in Kainuu, but there were also battles in Salla and Petsamo in Lapland. After the Soviet military reorganized and adopted different tactics, they renewed their offensive in February and overcame Finnish defences.
Hostilities ceased in March 1940 with the signing of the Moscow Peace Treaty in which Finland ceded 9% of its territory to the Soviet Union. Soviet losses were heavy, and the country's international reputation suffered.[37] Their gains exceeded their pre-war demands, and the Soviets received substantial territories along Lake Ladoga and further north. Finland retained its sovereignty and enhanced its international reputation. The poor performance of the Red Army encouraged German Chancellor Adolf Hitler to believe that an attack on the Soviet Union would be successful and confirmed negative Western opinions of the Soviet military. After 15 months of Interim Peace, in June 1941, Germany commenced Operation Barbarossa, and the Continuation War between Finland and the Soviets began.
Just as familiar as this sounds.
That says a lot more about you than anything else.
I mean, in response to a series of posts demonstrating how the Ukraine situation and western response is pretty much an exact replay of one of the dumbest wars in human history, right down to the talking points, you decided to cosign Karl Marx and defend our corrupt political establishment's rationale.
I didn't at all. I showed how the talking points of Putin paralleled the Soviet justification for invading Finland during the Winter War.
It's rather ironic you bring up Marx in response as the Finnish people were a democracy fighting against Soviet Marxists. And nowhere did I endorse Biden or anyone in powers talking points. I gave you an example straight from more recent history of how Russian/Soviet leadership used the excuse of internal security to invade a neighboring country. And how it turned out bad for everyone involved. You believe that is Marxism? You may need to go back to school and learn about Marxism.
I am not sure why you feel the need to defend Putin and Russia at all costs, other than you hate Biden and seem willing to back anyone who he opposes. I on the other hand believe Biden and Western European leaders are idiots and getting involved when they shouldn't in this war, Ukraine hasn't lived up to it's obligations from the last Cease Fire, that their wanting to join NATO was stupid, not least because they aren't a valid candidate for NATO, that NATO has not acted altruistic since 1991, and that Putin was wrong for invading a sovereign country to enforce his will and that this has backfired on him.
I see stupidity all around and evil intent all around. I do not believe our actions are above reproach nor are Putin's. I am not convinced Ukraine is winning, just losing more slowly, but also don't believe this means Russia is not a threat to be taken seriously.
I thought Putin's initial moves, occupying the contended territories was smart, because he likely would have gotten away with it, with little cost, but his expansion of the war was stupid. I believe Ukraine should have held the referendum as agreed to in 2014, on the fate of the two contested provinces.
I don't consider Ukraine a true democracy, although more of one than Russia, however, I don't see Putin as Hitler either. Neither side is above reproach but I feel the party that initiated the violence is more culpable than the ones who were attacked. I also believe that Biden's actions made this war more likely and have been idiotic and inflammatory from day one. I question if the situation in Ukraine was so vital to Russia, why did they wait eight years to do something about it.
In short I place a pox on both houses, but condemn more the house that initiated the violence. My biggest worry is that Biden talks us into a third world war. I pray for peace in the region, and feel it might have been better, for the world maybe not the Ukrainians, if this war had been short like everyone projected it to be, because the longer it lasts the more likely it is that it escalates and spreads. I agree Biden is fighting a proxy war, and disagree with that. I, however, feel Putin's actions are also condemnable and am tired of your myopic presentations. Also, your stupidity in rhetoric towards anyone who dares disagree with you in the slightest. it's shows a puerile need to discount any viewpoint but your own. I think we agree on the most vital part, the US and NATO should butt out and we don't want a war. Where we disagree with is Putin's culpability.
For example, I believe FDR was wrong for imposing economic sanctions on Japan, but believe Japan was more wrong to attack Pearl Harbor in return. I believe the Ukrainian, and Western Governments were wrong in how we dealt with Russia and Putin since the late 90s but believe Russia was more wrong to respond with violence.
Yes, I've heard the mass media and government talking points for a decade, and I do dismiss them.
But sure, I'm the aggressor here when you hijacked my post to deflect to a different subject, and when I'm attacked every day for not submitting to the prescribed russiamanbad narrative.
Just call me an antivaxxer, oops I mean a Russian propagandist, and stop wasting our time with bullshit every news outlet is trying to brainwash the population with.
Really? That I've read history. Once again you can't counter the point so you try and deflect back on me. The parallels to the Winter War are inescapable, even the justifications are nearly identical.
You're reaching and trying to deflect from the posts.
It's dishonorable behavior.
Yes, territorial dispute is a parallel. A shallow one that doesn't excuse trying to prop up the establishment narrative and distract from the fact that the same fucking rhetoric and narrative were used to justify the Crimean War, but you do you.
I'm deflecting? No, it was the use of a territorial dispute to excuse an invasion, which didn't go well for Soviets, which forced them to re-evaluatio and change their tactics, and resulted in condemnation by the west and an undesirable outcome for everyone involved. I think you're analysis of it is shallow and blinded by your hatred of western leadership which has morphed into a full throated Russian jingoism. Your sounding as jingoistic for Russia, as MSNBC is for Biden.
As for your allusions to the Crimean War they are as myopic as the rest of your views on Russia today. Russia had attacked the Ottomans multiple times during the preceding decades, was openly interfering in Ottoman internal politics, had occupied Ottoman territory just prior to the war starting, rejected a compromise that could have prevented the war. Yes, England and France wanted to balance Russia and the Ottomans, but the history is much deeper than that. It's rather like Bin Laden using the crusades to excuse 9/11. It misses the more complexity of the issues.
Nardz. I think it’s time to put your Russia sucking cards on the table. What’s the deal? Honestly?
Putin isn’t fighting the globalists. The globalists are cashing in on his invasion. Thats a very different thing.
Putin is actually empowering the dems and MSM in previously unbelievable ways.
The desperate personal attacks against anyone who isn’t buying Russia as the true savior of true western ideals…this shouldn’t be confusing.
Full disclosure: My two bits are this. A quarter of my family were “ruthenians” who left (Galicia) the Austrian-Hungarian empire to go die in coal mines in Pennsyltucky.
Close as I give to giving a shit about any of this.
I fucking hate Sean Penn as much as anybody. And I could give two shits about Zelensky wanting to drag the world into WWIII. Doesn’t mean the Ruskies shouldn’t bleed hard for what they’re attempting.
Why is this so confusing?
Agreed Beezard. On everything you posted. Putin played is resurrecting the neo cons when they were on life support before his invasion. Now we have to listen to them beat their war drums as they get a second life. After last August they were a joke that no one wanted to touch with a ten foot pole, now they are featured guests.
"Putin isn’t fighting the globalists. The globalists are cashing in on his invasion. Thats a very different thing."
It's certainly possible that this is a work.
"Putin is actually empowering the dems and MSM in previously unbelievable ways."
You'll have to explain this. They certainly aren't any more than by all of you people who took the 'sure I don't agree with lockdowns and mask mandates, but covid is totes super serious' gave them.
"The desperate personal attacks against anyone who isn’t buying Russia as the true savior of true western ideals…this shouldn’t be confusing."
Yea, go fuck yourself. You faggots started with the personal attacks on anyone who presented non approved narrative posts, and it's you faggots who, just like covid, give the moral authority to abuse by supporting the narrative even if you say you disagree with specific policies.
It's amazing to watch people who have finally found the ability to admit numerous hoaxes over the years, too late of course, fall headfirst for another one.
"Putin played is resurrecting the neo cons when they were on life support before his invasion. Now we have to listen to them beat their war drums as they get a second life. After last August they were a joke that no one wanted to touch with a ten foot pole, now they are featured guests."
You blame Putin because you and David Frum are now allies?
Not an ounce of self reflection that you share the same opinions as those neocons and mass, coordinated media.
Nope, it's all Putin's fault you won't stand up to the bullshit.
"Why is this so confusing?"
It's not confusing.
I post a thread showing how the west is using the same rhetoric and arguments that corrupt governments/media have been using for 2 centuries, and soldiermedic feels compelled to come hijack the conversation to putinmanbad.
Putinmanbad is fucking irrelevant to what I was saying, but conversation successfully derailed.
Davos appreciates that reflexive obedience.
Soldiermedic, you don't understand why The Narrative needs to be countered?
Have you been sleeping through the past half decade plus?
You have no fucking clue what's going on here. I didn't post the Crimean War article as defense of Putinmanbad or Russia, I posted it as an indictment of the thought process you're demonstrating in this very thread.
That you read it and your reflex was to go on the offensive like a bull charging a red cape because putinmanbad is something which should concern you.
The more media coverage I see of this, the more convinced I am that it was a PR stunt. Nobody watches the Oscars anymore so you need something outrageous to happen in order to gain more attention. Hollywood types absolutely are this desperate to have people talking about them.
It looked staged.
Next year, "male presenter gets behind female presenter and goes full anal pen, onstage, live and televised. Ratings skyrocket!!"
Nah, Hollywood isn't that cynical and immoral...
Double pen for the win!
"Hey Hollywood, nobody pays attention to us anymore. What can we do?"
"We could try shutting the fuck up and making good movies that people enjoy watching."
".... HEY! How about if Will Smith punches Chris Rock on stage?"
I don't know if it was planned, but it's really the only thing which got me to think of the Oscars or even realize it was going on...so even if it was spontaneous this time, the Oscar people might take a lesson for the future...consider staging something like every year. I mean, they're actors, they should be able to make it convincing.
They'd have to up the ante every year; I can see this progressing to some kind of riot with feet propped on desks.
This^
They're actors, after all.
B-I-N-G-O
If it was staged, this is one of the most ham-handed, racist ways to get people interested in the Oscars again.
Turning the ceremony into a giant left-wing political rally was bad enough, but if their strategy is to make people think it's going to be like the Source Hip-Hop Awards, they might as well have Worldsta sponsor it and kiss all of their ratings goodbye.
They already did that last bit, might as well let it be entertaining now that it's no longer relevant.
"If it was staged, this is one of the most ham-handed, racist ways to get people interested in the Oscars again."
Ok, now I'm leaning towards it being staged.
Back when men stood up for their honor:
-Rock spoke fighting words, an insult to Smith's wife, before a huge audience.
-Smith issued a challenge.
-Rock backed down, thus admitting his wrongdoing, and lost face in the eyes of the community for having declined the duel.
You're an idiot.
my hope for humanity diminishes day and day, and you sir just contributed to that. i can't even guess how low the IQ must be to write the above post you made in earnest.
"Back when men stood up for their honor:
-Rock spoke fighting words, an insult to Smith's wife, before a huge audience.
-Smith issued a challenge.
-Rock backed down, thus admitting his wrongdoing, and lost face in the eyes of the community for having declined the duel."
I don't disagree in principle, I just don't think this incident was a legitimate example of that.
This isn't Alabama in 1838.
Back when women had honor to defend you mean? Sorry, this ho isn't worth spitting on let alone defending. The joke was about her fucking hair and a joke that was complimentary to the "strong, independent woman" meme out there. Then beat chuck Will decided to let his self loathing out in a bitch slap.
Oh please.
Chris Rock told a joke.
Will Smith laughed at said joke.
Will looked over at Jada, saw she wasn't laughing.
Will, realizing he had to go home with Jada, decided he had to do something.
Most accurate take of the day.
He sat there and cried like a faggot while she admitted to cucking him on national TV. "Defending muh wamen's honor" doesn't cut ice here. She fucks other guys. He fucks other women. They both acknowledge it publicly and have basically admitted they are what we used to call swingers. This was a publicity stunt to draw attention to the otherwise lowest rated Oscars in 2 decades in which the entire affair was, for the 10th or so year in a row, an exercise in passing around affirmative action trophies to negroes.
Will, realizing he had to go home with Jada
More like Jada would find someone else to go home with, given their history.
he had to go home with Jada,
The tragedy of Will Smith is that he believes that. He could kick her to the curb anytime if he ever relocates his testicles. There are billions of women in this world, and most of them would treat him better than she ever did.
-jcr
Dunno.
Women really do not respect cucks.
There’s a lot of intersectionality going on here. I’m developing a diagram to determine who the evil party is. I’ll be back in a moment.
Draw a circle around the words "white people"
If I dont see an article from Vox or Huffpo linking this to white supremacy or some kind of system of oppression, I will legit be surprised.
CNN blamed it on Trump... Somehow.
They are not good at solving puzzles. I think a hint could be a 1 and a 3.
I you don't blame Trump, you're part of Qanon.
So did Howard Stern.
And all the vectors point to and from said circle.
Black man insults black woman...offensive and disrespectful.
Black man assaults the insulter on behalf of his wife...patriarchal.
Verdict: Re-education for both!
Black man assaults Black man, no harm, no foul.
No, it was wrong because she should have hit Rock herself, perhaps with the aid of a multiracial crew of avengers (no white chicks, though).
black man shoots black man..."hey look over there! something else is happening!"
"A gun discharged at the Oscars while Will Smith and Chris Rock were on stage."
"A bullet seems to have gone into Chris Rock, for some reason."
https://www.vox.com/culture/22999328/will-smith-hit-chris-rock-oscars-best-actor
"Rock is familiar with the vexed politics surrounding Black women’s hair. In 2009, he produced and starred in the documentary Good Hair, about how Black women have historically thought about and styled their hair."
"Rock has also targeted Pinkett Smith in his Oscars humor before. When Rock hosted the Oscars in 2016, it was in the midst of the #OscarsSoWhite protests, and Pinkett Smith was one of many major Black celebrities who had committed to boycotting the Oscars to protest their lack of diversity."
“Jada got mad, said she’s not coming. Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited,” Rock said."
^ That's a good joke. Rock is a master.
He can be devastating when he wants to be. Some of the most pointed criticisms of black America in the last 30 years have come out of his mouth.
You can do all the calculatin' you want, and really, try and make it look impressive and calculusish, but at the end you've got the answer waiting for you: "Systemic racism".
Since Trump's not in office.
This also isn't necessarily about privilege, either. I'm hearing people say "Well if anyone else had done this, but since it was Chris' friend..."
If a stranger walks up and randomly grabs me, I'm shoving away and potentially hitting them to get them away. If my son runs up and randomly grabs me, I understand it means something different. If these two are friends (I don't know or care what their relationship is) then Chris might accept that his friend smacked him for crossing a line. Just because he'd treat a stranger differently doesn't mean it's hypocrisy.
"By now, you've almost certainly seen"
No, hadn't even heard of it until I saw this item.
"By now, you've almost certainly been unable to avoid..."
WWE does it better.
Why it was a work:
1) Reports are that Rock told the same joke in rehearsal. It was no surprise then.
2) Rock was laughing while it was going down. If I'm up on stage and some guy is running up I'm not laughing anymore. I'm fucking retreating.
3) No security came during the incident or afterwards. No celebrity handlers interceded to escort either party away.
Total work.
Security would have been on them in a nanosecond if that had been real.
You guys severely overestimate the zealous protection provided by 12 dollar an hour rent-a-cops.
(that being said, of course it was a work)
Well, if a non-celebrity had tried anything funny at the ceremony, I think the "rent-a-cops" would have been on him at once.
It's more delicate if a celebrity starts acting up...when (if ever) is security authorized to intervene in such a situation?
I can’t speak for California, but here in New Jersey, rent-a-cops are far, far more expensive than $12 an hour.
A noble right which is properly enshrined in our Constitution.
MTV's rent-a-cops certainly swarmed much faster when Kanye interrupted Taylor years ago.
Lol... And that didn't get him in any real hot water.
But tweeting mean things about Pete Davidson for banging his wife? Yeah, that got him banned from performing the Grammies.
No, security is for the proles. No Hollywood rent a cop is going to touch either of them.
Exactly.
Is some rent-a-cop going to tackle Will Smith on the steps to the Oscar stage? NFW.
counterpoint: "security" didn't know it wasn't a bit until too late.
I did not realize the oscars were still a thing.
But I do not want to be like anyone in Hollywood.
Hey, Will: Now do 'The Rock'
Easy to man up when you are bigger, no?
Don't mistake the Rock as somebody who can find.
He is big. Yes. Also very injury prone (his list of injuries from his last worked match is not very short and why he is unlikely to ever do another actual worked match ever again) and not exactly a gifted fighter in any way, shape, or form.
Per another thread: Asking for odds that Will wasn't the first Smith to 'hit' Rock?
Considering this is the same faggot cuck who sat there and cried like a bitch on national television while his wife detailed how she carried on an affair with a guy 21 years her junior, the tuff gai shit against a pencil neck comedian nearly old enough to be collecting social security is hilarious.
Rock is two years older than Smith.
4 years according to an internet search. I thought Rock was in the 60 range, but I was off by a few years. Also 5 inches shorter and probably 50 pounds lighter. Point still stands. Sucker punching a guy smaller, weaker, and older than you to avenge an innocuous, lame joke on your wife after you've gone full "PROUD CUCK" on national TV about your "open marriage" that you didn't know was open until your wife confessed to fucking a kid whom she was introduced to by your own son is pathetic. Or rather it would be if this was actually real and not just a PR stunt.
The incident had Jack (cuck) Murphy energy
you forgot to add 'and funnier'
Trumps fault.
Asha Rangappa
@AshaRangappa_
So did like anyone walk out after that happened??? Or are we getting an independent psychological case study on how Trump got normalized?
next up: whiteness
Huh. So sarcasmic has a twitter account.
Wow.
And I thought that "Trump's fault" was a joke. I should know better by now.
Anyway, back into hibernation until the next weird Oscar clickbait.
Next year: the real winner punches the announcer for giving the award to the wrong movie.
Too similar to the Kanye West stunt a decade ago to have the novelty factor.
Chris Rock is a little guy, like many actors.
Will Smith is big enough to play Mohammad Ali in a movie.
What happened to "go pick on someone your own size"?
A good point.
the Whatscars?
Slap in the face? Big deal. If Smith really wanted to threaten Chris Rock, He would’ve shouted, “now I’m inviting Mike Pence to come and speak!” I understand that’s supposed to be life-threatening.
Mike Pence was not available. He was under a lot of pressure to reverse the St Peters/UNC basketball score. It turns out that UNC was given more "free throws" and the refs were from Philly, Atlanta, and Detroit.
You joke, but the officiating in the first half was totally one sided. If the Peacocks didn't go into panic mode after starting out ice fucking cold it might have mattered.
Also, I have zero respect for the UNC fanbase. No tailgates, no shit talking, showing up late, expressing confusion about the existence bathroom lines during halftime; just no fun whatsoever.
For the first time in my life I hope Duke smacks the shit out of them. That team deserves a better class of fan. And a better band, they suck too.
It was a joke and I missed the 1st half. Saw the 2nd half of the St Pete/UK game and loved that. My father was born in Jersey City.
I don't like UNC or Duke - SEC team fan - and have almost no interest in this blue blood Final Four.
Once again Gonzaga failed to close the deal, so I don't really care anymore. Back to worrying about if my Mariners can actually make the playoffs after 20+ year hiatus (not hopeful), what the fuck the Seahawks were thinking in regards to Wilson, and wondering if Wilson can take the Broncos deep this year (wasn't quite as sad to see Wilson leave Seattle as he landed at my second favorite team).
Family teams this year were Purdue - son's brother in law is a grad - and the Zags - we have a grand niece there who watches with their fans in the gym at tournament time. St Pete/Purdue was a tough one for me, but the son's brother-in-law link - nice guy - wasn't too strong.
Gotta love sports fans.
It actually is a pretty good small world example of how partisan politics works.
(On the disinterested national level, zero people are with you on this take on the officiating in that game)
Not fronting for Biden today?
Can't say I blame you.
Is this toxic masculinity?
It's barely even regular masculinity.
Something other than masculinity could be a hint to this puzzle.
It's cuck rage. A man with any self-respect would have kicked the cheating wife out of his life decades ago.
-jcr
I think the answer to the puzzle is different. See yesterdays tweet by Jaden, son of Will Smith:
"And That’s How We Do It".
But who is "We"? I think Jaden has solved the puzzle.
"By now, you've almost certainly seen the most exciting moment from last night's Academy Awards show"
In fact, <5% of Americans actually watched that crap.
First I heard of it was right here on Reason, finally stopped the embedded video because I didn't need the 10 minutes of commentary between each 3-frame step.
Rock should have said "And I had sex with your wife".
The jerk store called, they're running out of you!
He clearly had a list locked and loaded, Terminator style... Considered and then rejected taking that path.
I was pretty impressed with his composure. He was clearly stunned.. and quite pissed. And he looks to the stage director at one point and must have gotten the "keep going" signal, because he doesn't look to happy, pauses and then soldiers on.
Had this been a comedy club, the club would have tossed the guy and had him arrested. And had they failed to do so.. rock would have called them out in real time.
But this being live TV, he sucked it up and got through it. I am shocked that the producers did nothing.
Again, if this were a comedy club, failing to protect the performer would likely get them blacklisted.
So, libertarians are racists.
Interesting.
Arent you one of the usuals pushing for racial characterization of students and pre-judging them on immutable characteristics? I thought you and ol Jeffy were two of the regulars arguing for CRT in classrooms.
Pointing out that Jada is hardly a victim after bragging about getting deep-dicked by a cocaine-addled, mentally rapper half her age hit a little too close to home, Joe?
Considering this is a sarcasmic sock and he's spent the last 8 years or so drunk-posting about what a cunt his wife is for leaving him and taking the kids despite his being a self-confessed jobless drug addict and alcoholic at the time, I'd say probably yes.
Nope.
Awards shows are simply mutual appreciation societies. Imagine the same event with CEOs, or sales people, or engineers, or HR folks, or sports heroes, getting together for a broadcast event to give each other awards. LOL! Awards shows are a form of celebrity worship by celebrities and non-celebrities alike, where people have traditionally loved them largely because they provide a sense of inclusion in something outside of their day-to-day lives. Nothing wrong there, as that happens alot, but it doesn't add any additional credence to the business of acting. Concerning sports heroes: while they do get awards, it usually directly follows a competition were the winning team, or individual players who performed outstandingly, get an award. Imagine an Oscars where the actors would compete, on the live broadcast stage, to get an award. LOL!
I am ashamed of Will Smith, a real man responding to someone publicly shaming his wife for a medical condition would not slapped, this was the time to close the fist and make a statement.
Shouldn't Stronk Wahmun be able to stand up for themselves, rather than expect their cuck husbands to act like anything other than the eunuchs they turned them in to?
Per woke doctrine there is no difference between will and jada and she can both defend herself and fight equally well as any man can. Gender is only a construct after all, there are no real differences, biology be damned.
But while men and women are totes equal, we also have to harp on all the way that women are actually way better! (even if those ways are...made up).
As the wise and not demented Joe Biden said:
"There isnt a single thing men can do that a woman cant do better"
Crazy how the Hollywood Left is all gathering around Will Smith for being the victim. WTF? We have reached the end of civilization.
Admittedly I have seen a wide range of reactions from the progs. Everything from the oscar should be taken from smith for violence, to Jada is a brave victim, to Will is a brave victim for his open cuckery and we should appreciate his progressive submissiveness to his wife, to Chris rock is racist toward black hair or misogynists.
They havent gotten their marching orders yet and arent sure in which direction to be outraged. And they have little ability to think for themselves.
Maybe we can try to not make everything partisan and then divide up on it? Just a suggestion based on what normal people do.
We can really just try to solve the puzzle?
"Maybe we can try to not make everything partisan and then divide up on it?"
It's all you ever fucking do, until your party is so embarrassing that you're out of talking points.
Maybe we can try to not make everything partisan and then divide up on it?
Yeah, this is typically the leftist's lament when they think the narrative might not go in the direction they want.
BLM supporter who openly hates whites runs over a bunch of old white grannies:
"Guys its christmas, lets not make everything partisan!"
Also...*crickets*
If it's not on the flow chart, they're lost.
Look at interviews with college girls on whether Lia should be able to swim against the girls...they hear the question and you can see them checking against "approved thought".
"Hmmm...is either one black? No? Is either side gay? Not really applicable. Is either one whiter than the other? No? More corporate? Uhh...I dunno...MAYbe?"
This was on a YouTube video, on a college campus. One girl wanted to say "No." but suspected it was wrong, somehow, and bailed on answering. Another said "Yes", which follow up questioning led her to contend that the girls should just "practice harder" and sure, they could beat him. Which is illogical, but was all she could get off the Intersectional Flow Chart.
So say the "libertarians" trying here to figure out what side they're supposed to be on.
Pathetic
How the fuck does laughing at woke idiots acting like idiots contradict libertarianism?
You really aren’t smart.
What's alopecia? Personally, I'm stunned to learn about this rare, uncurable, and abjectly debilitating disease that, I assume, only inflicts women for the first time.
If nothing else, at least we now know that Will Smith hits like a girl.
I think Pat is trying to get us to watch the Oscars by giving us a new variation of the puzzle. I think it isn't working well for him. Or the Oscars.
This popped up on my phone last night and the first thing I thought was it was staged. Still not convinced it wasn't.
I re-watched Bohemian Rhapsody last night.
I finished the second of Atkinson's Victory Trilogy The Day of Battle and started the third The Guns at Least Light.
Reading those books actually made me start to wonder how the fuck we managed to beat the Germans. Pretty much every fuck-up and slap-fight is highlighted.
Logistics. We could outproduce them and get supplies to the front better than they could, even as their supply lines grew shorter and ours longer.
The books also dispell the myth that the Wermacht infantry was better than ours, possibly better led but our soldiers held their own in stand up fights. Quite often the deciding factor was how badly a lot of our leadership was, especially in the early goings. Italy and Africa rarely showed any tactical or strategic brilliance or innovation.
"Logistics..."
Japan never had a chance and "Wages of Destruction" (Tooze) suggests the Nazis would have had to make use of the conquered lands rather than plundering them to stand any chance at all.
Speer tried to get the Germany arms makers to adopt "Fordism" ajnd failed.
I've often referred to Britain's secret service concluding to end assassination attempts against Hitler, because they felt killing him would allow someone smarter to take power and making the allied war effort harder.
Yamamoto promised his superiors only 6 months of victory after Pearl Harbor when he presented his plan, he knew if they couldn't win within those six months Japan was doomed. In many ways it's why he proposed the Midway offensive, because Japan had failed to decisively beat the US Navy and he knew they were running out of time, the Doolittle Raid, for as little tactically it accomplished, helped convince him that time was running out.
And not incidently Midway happened almost 6 months after Pearl Harbor and both sides saw it as a continuation of that battle.
They ran out of uppers.
Allies used uppers as well, hell, we still do. Look up go-pills and how much energy drinks we sent to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"I finished the second of Atkinson's Victory Trilogy The Day of Battle and started the third The Guns at Least Light."
The guy can write *and* (unlike Toll - another fine writer) you don't have to wait ten years for the next book!
Looking forward to Atkinson's second on the Revolution.
I'm thinking of reading Toll next, his Pacific war series.
An obvious set-up.
Jaden Smith, son of Will Smith, tweeted yesterday: "And That’s How We Do It".
But who is "We"? I think Jaden may have solved the puzzle.
Remember, years ago, Will said he heard his kids saying "We're rich" and told them "No. Your mom and I are rich. YOUR ass is broke."
Chris Rock said that on a Jerry Seinfeld YT show, Coffee and Cars.
Smith claimed it a few years back. Never saw (was aware of, but never saw) Seinfeld's show.
Does a terminal case of alopecia now get the sufferer SJW victim points or is that just for black women? Asking for a friend.
It actually would've been decent as a running gag if Travolta slapped Smith when he got up to receive his award.
I have a suspicion if you as a non-colored man tried to claim victim points for a patch of hair missing the overwhelming response from the SJW crowd would be "get the fuck over it you privileged white male!"
#metoo? No?
I can tell you that even with her head shaved, my alopeci... I mean my friends' alopecia (seriously, Grandpa, Dad, Brother, every Uncle, every Cousin, my BIL...) is worse than hers.
If she is going bald, she can buy a wig.
Yeah, there are many women who go to great lengths to achieve what she's coming by naturally. Kinda my point that for every woman who goes through what she's going through, there are 10 Jason Alexanders for who it's their inescapable career/persona.
I was hoping for video of Sean Penn smelting his Oscars onstage.
That'll happen when he finally finds his way to the airport to fly to Canada since Trump was elected.
Yeah, this isn't the best take of what happened.
Chris Rock's display of restraint had as much to do with self preservation as an act of grace, if not more. He had enough sense not to brawl with Will Smith on a global stage, knowing what that would do to his career. But more importantly, he's been in the industry long enough to know that had he reacted in a way even slightly against the woke grain, HE would be tarred and feathered. The woke does not make allowance for the fact that human beings can act rashly in a heat of the moment.
This isn't all that hard. What you saw was the privileged class playing by their own rules and moral standards. It's no different than mask warriors partying maskless at galas while the hired help are 100% masked. Not only was Smith not kicked out of the ceremony, the Harvey Weinstein crew gave him a standing ovation as Smith tearfully apologized to everyone BUT Rock in his acceptance speech. "Love makes you do crazy things" - it's the most Orwellian BS. If you and I hit Chris Rock, we'd be in jail by now.
If you see an outrage, just recognize the outrage. If Donald Trump hit Rock, you wouldn't say "Wow Rock really took that well, it's a teachable moment". The victims keeping their dignity by refusing to respond in kind only amplifies the outrage.
He had enough sense not to brawl with Will Smith on a global stage, knowing what that would do to his career.
Setting aside that it was staged worse than the WWE, Rock is like 5'10" 160 lbs. and Smith is like 6'2" 210 lbs. and 5 yrs. younger. I don't think Rock's life was in danger but, were it real, I don't think his career was/would be the first thing on his mind.
As someone with more of a Ray Rice build, I would have spear tackled Smith onto the runway Bill Goldberg-style.
Shockingly few people understood this. It was blindingly obvious... But everyone walks on eggshells, lest the woke mob come for them.
I am about to offend your sensibilities.
You. Me and The View are just about the only people who saw it for what it was.
Yes, The View.
Whoopie, Joy Behar and crew condemned Smith, defended the joke and expressed shock that he was not ushered out. (And Whoopie is apparently on the board at the Academy).
The View reporting comes from my wife... Did not watch, so can't vouch for accuracy. But she thought it was funny that they agreed with me.
I'm not for involving the cops under most circumstances... except when someone physically assaults me. Then it's the only way I know they'll be kept away from me. Sorry about the shitty jail. I didn't have an option.
Punk move from a punk loser.
That moment points to a bigger malaise in society in general. It's all meshed in with the Covidian psychos, the vaccine cult, and Ukrainists lusting for war for 'muh democracy'.
I'm too lazy to expand or make sense.
The West is mentally ill.
The end.
This is the right answer.
But first.... Boehm with the reason throat clear .. "told a lame joke that might offend some.". Wrong on both counts. "Looking forward to seeing Jada in GI Jane Ii" is a solid and appropriately innocuous joke. If you are a woman with a shaved head, being compared to Demi Moore at the height of her powers in a blockbuster movie where she plays a badass soldier is not an insult. Stop pretending it is. Earlier in the show one of the female comedians hosting made a joke about taking a bunch of hot single actors backstage and included Will Smith, saying "Jada says she is ok with it". That is something one might take some offense to. Something one might be sitting there stewing about after a couple of cocktails too many.
Now, Reason incipidness taken care of... The sickness of society.
Will Smith is not the symptom of sickness. He is just some dude who clearly is dealing with a lot more than was showing on the surface and lost it for a moment, probably after some drinks and a fairly long string of comments about him putting up with his wife taking multiple long term lovers. One dude losing his temper is not a symptom of societal ills. That is normal. People have bad days and do wrong things. Not unexpected.
What was unexpected was that the producers and the venue did nothing. Can you imagine someone going onstage at an event and hitting one of the performers, then loudly and profanely continuing to disrupt the even..... And not being escorted out? At the PTA meeting? At a local bar. If one of your buddies went onstage and assaulted the bass player... You think he sits back down and enjoys the show?
Not a chance.
But the Oscars producers were in a trap. Black megastar crosses the line... Now what??? They said they considered kicking him out. But why did they stop? Did they perhaps try to figure out the complicated map of victim hood, wondering if the image of a prominent black star being escorted from the building plays into the narrative of the last decade... The Oscars are racist!!
Yeah. Hoist by their own pitard. Now what?
You think Bradley Cooper gets away with that?
Or maybe an even better comparison.. Kid Rock. Rap star / musician with some Hollywood experience. But a conservative and a white guy. Do you really believe they either for a second about the potential blowback? Or do they know they are completely safe, and have him arrested?
That is the sickness, writ small.
The sickness writ large came later, as the entire crowd rose to applaud the guy right after he assaults a performer onstage and screams profane threats at the performer like an unhinged nut. (Watch the Japanese feed for the full audio and context, without US cutaways designed to protect him)
He gets up to a big .. but muted.. round of applause. And then gives an insane self defense, filled with tears to the point of blubbering and snotting it up. (The US cut away for this part). He proclaimed himself to be called by God to be the protector of "his people". He proclaimed himself to be a "river of love". He apologized to the academy. But not to Chris Rock. He was clearly worried about the repercussions.. but not about what he had done.
And everyone stood and applauded him. They embraced him offstage.
That is the sickness on full display.
He is called by God to defend his people and be a river of love..... So he jumps up and hits a guy half his size? And the response is cheers?
He proclaimed himself the protector of his fellow actors on King Richard. He seemed to confuse playing a role with actually being the father of his coworkers. And they cheered.
What. The. Hell?
So I checked the news sites to see what the coverage was.
ABC, CBS, NPR CNN and Fox all declined to accurately describe what they saw. All tepidly said "appeared to strike" or called it "an altercation. None reported the joke or what he screamed.
NBC surprisingly faired better, giving more info and including the Academy tweeting out that they "do not condone violence" but wanted all the honorees to be able to enjoy their recognition.
But go overseas and it was totally different. "Will Smith hit Chris Rock Onstage" was the BBC headline. They quoted the joke, the yelling and talked about the reaction in the room.
How hard was that? Apparently too hard for the propaganda machine. Every US outlet held their powder dry, waiting for people up the food chain to decide what the proper position was.
This is a tiny event. It is a nothing burger of the highest order.
But the reaction is not a nothing burger. It lays bare the sickness of American discourse and the American media. If some dude hits another dude on live television, it is not complicated to cover. Unless you live in a woke society with a propaganda machine.
The next morning, NBC Today covered it and when they returned to the studio, Hoda Kotb made some banter about "that feud" not being over and this being the straw that broke the camel's back..(what? They mentioned no feud). Then Craig Melman. Oof. He starts in on how you try to teach your son's that you don't put your hands on other people.... And then straight into "America is inherently racist" nonsense. Says it is really sad because there "exists a stereotype in this country that black men cannot control their temper, and Will Smith plays right into that."
Good lord.
And something that insipid did not garner a mention anywhere else.
This is the sickness, on full display. The first on air story... And NBC pivots to "it is racist to generalize to all black men". .. like the response to Muslim terrorism... The first thing you have to say is that it isn't because of Islam and it is totally racist to mention Islam when a guy says he murdered 50 people for Islam.
We are so accustomed to full throated dishonesty from the press.. nobody even notices. And in public, everyone is too worried about being called a racist, to the point where they stand and applaud someone who assaulted one of their colleagues moments earlier.
Yeah, there is indeed a sickness.
Yeah Cyto, thanks for telling us what happened. Like you said, I watched a lot of coverage and didn't learn Chris Rock made a joke about Will Smith's wife, and then he walked on stage and slapped Chris until you just told us, since you watched the Japanese version. Mystery solved!
WTF?
As to the racial tension you describe while hinting at how blacks get away with stuff, to quote Chris Rock from a stand up routine:
"None of you white guys would trade places with me, a black man in America, AND I'M RICH!"
As to sickness, and to quote myself from below responding to Rufus' similar disgust with the present:
And yet our recent past Rufus, featured public lynching that you could bring your kids to and heads of state across the world, including Europe, beheading people like ISIS, and worse. As pointed out and supported by data on another recent thread, all of our chances of being killed by a fellow human are way lower than in our more primitive existences and even lower than the early 20th century.
When bemoaning our fate, it's best to keep track of the past. "Compared to what" is still the most important question.
Another thing connected to my comment above. We've normalized dehumanizing and demonizing people so violence is only a natural outgrowth to this. People have become way too belligerent. In Canada, they did a poll that showed the biggest supporters of war in Ukraine (a place no one ever gave shit about or even remotely understands) were also double or triple vaxxed.
I noticed that too. If you were pro-lockdown, chances are you're pro-Ukraine with all the empty virtue signalling, faux righteous ignorance that comes with it.

PS Rufus - I'm triple vaxxed and support Ukraine.
How do you not support Ukraine and claim you're for liberty? I don't get that?
Good to see you are against commies punching nazis.....
Ha!
?
You’re really out of your league here Joe.
Yeah, especially Jewish Nazis like Zelensky who lost a bunch of ancestors to Nazis in WWII, you simpleton.
Seriously, I'm against one country invading another and bombing civilians. I know that isn't a popular position among the "libertarians" here, but waiting for an explanation. You don't want to restrict the freedom of murderous dictators? Or what?
I think it's a win win. People used to hit in public a lot more than they do today. Sure, some jokes are great, but I think Will Smith gave everyone a great reminder that making fun of your wife's hair for a disease she has no control over can and will piss people off. It was in poor taste and considering all he did was slap Chris Rock, that's pretty fair in terms of punishment.
Did Rock know about Smith's illness? Maybe, maybe not. I'm not a fan of humor that comes at the expense of others. Laughing at vs. laughing with. Losing your hair can be tough and it does register differently for women.
This is what people who wait for other people to tell them what to think say. It is lame.
The joke is not offensive and clearly did not offend Will Smith. He was there for rehearsal , laughing with no objections and laughed at the time. Being compared to Demi Moore playing a badass soldier is not offensive. Zero people think it is.
What is offensive? Having an earlier string of jokes by other people about how your wife has a live-in lover. A situation that you have very publicly struggled to deal with ,(they have split several times, and he has publicly denounced her for what she has put him through).
He did not "get offended" at a Chris rock joke. He got pissed when his wife gave him a look. (Watch his response in the video, along with hers) His situation is clearly very complicated and there are clearly many more layers than "looking forward to seeing Jada in GI Jane 2".
Rock did a really great documentary - self narrated - about black woman and hair because he has 2 daughters and given western styles, self image issues abound. He knows the territory and one of the main ideas he highlighted was (paraphrase) "don't touch or fuck with black women's hair!"
He missed his own message, or more likely knew exactly what he was doing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MazokEvX63I
Bullshit. Smith is publicly cucked-out. He acted the way he did because his wife sees him as pathetic and he was sick of it.
What Chris Rock taught us was not to make fun of people's diseases if you're not very good friends with them and in on them initiating the jokes. If you're randomly doing that before an audience it will rarely work out for you. I don't know why so many comedians think as long as they're not making fun of cancer it's OK.
What Will Smith taught us was that sometimes your words will result in violence against you whether that was your intention or not. That disease you don't have that you think is OK to make fun of is probably pretty important to those who do have it and their loved ones.
What Eric Boehm taught us is don't try to pick a side in 2 wrongs.
Meh, handbags at 20 paces.
I am surprised that the guy who has played the late boxing great Mohammad Ali has such a lousy right hook. I am over 60 and I bet that could have knocked Chris Rock down with the right hook. Will Smith ought to spend some time in the gym.
Other than that, only idiots answer to words with violence. Will Smith has just proven that he was unable to find the corresponding words to put Chris Rock down. In other words, Will Smith has just proven that he's an idiot. With a lousy right hook.
You would think a room full of entertainers would think twice about minimizing someone taking offense, walking up on stage, and committing assault. It's as if they think this might have little impact beyond the ratings and their twitter accounts.
This.
To many this looks like it was staged, Rock stood there with his chin out and it looked like Smith delivered a staggering slap to the head but Chris boy took the blow as if it never happened and Smith retreated to his chair to mouth expletives at the awkwardness of Rock and this situation....Security never intervened, Smith was not escorted out and went on to receive his scheduled award, the words Law Suit are distant and of course Will was fast becoming his loveable self again....I stopped watching this morbid comedy performance for these award shows long ago, they are a rabid joke of emotion, sarcasm am and disrespect...The movies are now going to be token work decided by those with minimal brain power, it demonstrates the fragility of free speech and how this art form is being subdued by callous inane ideology......Had they left their emotional politic at home, the farce may have gone on longer....
I'm going to give Hollywood some free advice:
With your industry's long-standing issues with it, being SUPER gung-ho about 8 year olds and younger being taught about sex and gender theory is an exceptionally poor look for you.
They are desperate to reverse the ratings slide. Rock told a joke that was not in the script. He then stands with both hands behind his back and his chin extended. He watches as Smith walks up to him and yet does not flinch or move the target - his head. Smith proceeds to slap him but using an awkward motion - he clearly pulls the 'punch' by leaning back, not forward so only his arm is used, not his body and the 30 pound advantage he probably has. He is very athletic and showed he could box in the movie Ali and knew how to lean in to throw a punch; had he leaned into his slap Rock would have been groggy or gone down for a standing 8 count.
I wonder if it was "The Rock" or some other beefy guy up there if Will would have been so eager to smack him? Now me, I would have let him hit me for one of those 140 thousand dollar swag bags the guests received.
Best outcome, Jada directly at the time (or Will when accepting his award) replies with:
-Chris, I'd give up your hair for my career ever day of the week.
-Chris, did you come up with the bald joke on your own or did Adam Sandler and Kevin James help you out with it?
-Chris, the GI Jane 2 joke was good burn, not nearly as savage as if I'd actually starred in Grownups... Grownups 2... or Grownups 3, but, you know, a good burn nonetheless.
-Chris, when you compared me to Demi Moore, I thought is was an edgy, racist joke. Then I remembered I was watching Chris Rock the actor, not Chris Rock the comedian.
-Chris, did Grownups 4, were you even in Grownups 4?, make more or less money than The Matrix 4?
-Chris, just because the Academy, your family, and even your wife likes Will's, *ahem*, movies more than yours is no reason to take it out on me.
-Chris, it really does piss you off that Dave Chappelle has less hair than you doesn't it?
