Brickbat: Memphis Blues

Kyle Maxwell has sued the city of Memphis and several police officers, claiming he was bitten by a police dog and tackled by officers who mistook him for a burglar. According to the lawsuit, Maxwell was staying in an apartment on the north end of First Congregational Church. Some parishioners saw a burglary in progress in the food pantry on the south end on the church's security camera and called police. Before cops arrived, the parishioners called again to report the burglars had left. But when police arrived they started investigating the north end of the church complex where they confronted Maxwell. The police department declined to comment, citing pending litigation.

No animal should be trained to attack humans. It's irresponsible.
No state animal should be trained to attack humans off the battlefield.
Private citizens do all kinds of irresponsible shit that the rest of us have no business insisting shouldn't happen.

And how about if the state suggests to a private citizen that they train an attack dog? That's okay too - .... right? cause, hey
we cant really tell if that's what made them turn a dog into a weapon
And they shouldn't have dogs.

(dear Reason, if you pretend to be a magazine, hire editors)
hire editors
Needs more editors!
There should be a mandatory editing law; now I'm triggered at the prospect of a security camera that is so big it can see what everyone in the world is doing; but then that would be a satellite.
You know who else liked paramilitary uniforms and German Shepherds?
Paw Patrol. Uniforms, Mechs, official government sanctioned paramilitary force, and led by a Shepherd. Got to look out for those pups.
Lord Baden-Powell?
