Brickbat: Flagged Down

Grass Valley, California, School District Superintendent Andrew Withers said he is investigating a substitute teacher caught on video berating a middle school student wearing a Thin Blue Line mask showing police support. In the video, the teacher, who was not named, tells the student "That's not the American flag. That's the new confederacy flag." "I never had someone talk to me like that, yell at me in my face, especially a teacher," said student Lucas Lillar.

That teacher is the Thin Blue Line of education. Where is his flag, kid?
I make 85 dollars each hour for working an online job at home. KLA06 I never thought I could do it but my best friend makes 10000 bucks every month working this job and she recommended me to learn more about it. The potential with this is endless.

Just as a pun is the lowest form of humor , an education degree is the lowest form of education.
A physical education degree is lower. Possibly a notch below gender studies.
At least those with a physical ed degree have enough self awareness to know what they've got. The Education degree seems to attract morons with a totalitarian streak, fragile egos and a messiah complex.
Hey, phys ed departments were homes for dykes before gender studies was even a dream.
Yeah.. degrees ending in "studies" are unquestionably the bottom. An acquaintance of ours has a PhD from the African American Studies department. She is an unadulterated idiot. Even in African American Studies, I know more than she does.
But she gets paid by NGOs to travel the world preparing curriculums for kids in poor countries... Teaching them about diversity and alternative ways to resolve disputes (alternatives to beheading and blowing people up)
Where would the studies people be without NGOs? Probably unemployed it then many that I knew came from privileged white families and ended up as investment bankers or in other corporate positions
We know where they'd be without NGOs. On Twitter pleading with @POTUS to forgive the stupid loans - err, student loans they used to get a Piled high & Deep in [$stupid_shit] studies. Unfortunately several congresscritters are already on board but hopefully never enough.
It didn't use to be that way. I've got a degree in American Studies from Purdue early 1980's. Very serious students, a few leftys but most simply wanting to understand America deeply. For the most part great professors all around.
So her degree in African American studies allows her to have a job going and telling Africans to act like Americans?
I get so tired of the idiots who always pontificate to me about how noble, selfless, and underpaid teachers are. They’re not.
And how they say, "Well, I have a master's degree!"
Yeah......no.
….in education……..
They usually say it like it’s the same as having a masters in chemical engineering. Seriously, is there anyone who couldn’t get a masters on education?
And, not to defend the other practice too vociferously but, it's not like a masters in physics or chemistry where you chose to work on grant projects for a stipend rather than taking a salaried position in the hopes building your skills, demonstrating greater competence, and getting a better position down the road. You got a job with a bachelor's and in order to get better pay, got an masters at night school, at which point, your employer was obligated to pay you more, regardless of whether you were doing the exact same job or not. And that's assuming you didn't just up your credit hours at the same time as getting your bachelor's.
You say that - but pt is actually useful.
For those that can’t handle puns there is Carrot Top and Jeff Dunham.
Don’t forget Gallagher
His comedy act was always smashing.
But beating watermelons is racist, right?
Not necessarily, but when he then used to have a couple of confederates (lol) run out in blackface shouting "Oh noes! Don't smash dem fried chickens!!", that WAS racism.
I'm terrible at handling puns; I'm always dropping them.
This from the "news" article:
"The 'Thin Blue Line' flag, which resembles an American flag but has a blue stripe, is a sign of support for law enforcement but has also come to signal opposition to the racial justice movement and a symbol of white supremacy or support for the Blue Lives Matter cause."
Moral clarity from the media!
Racial justice movement indeed. There's 60 million reasons to think it's a racket.

I like how white supremacy just gets thrown in for good measure.
Look... BLM has Black right there in the title. Even implying that any lives other than Black lives Matter is a hate crime. You know this.
I mean.. it is right there in the title.
We can only achieve racial justice by acting more racist, in good ways, than the bad racists.
I think the “thin blue line” US flag is an abomination. But folks are free to fly it or wear it as flair. As they are the nazi flag, Soviet flag or the flag of East Germany.
Incidentally, anyone ever see a Gadsden flag facemask?
I suspect that in the places where people who wear a Gadsden flag live, there are no mask mandates, so no Gadsden masks. Just shirts and real flags.
We call this place "Free America" to distinguish it from the fascist areas still full of mandates.
Yes. My wife made me one. She's an embroidery queen. ("Don't Breathe on Me" embroidered under the snake.)
CB
Don’t Spread On Me
embroidery queen
Don't Thread On Me
Only if she wanted to needle folks.
When we're talking a gadsden mask, isn't that the point?

As seen Tuesday at my local elementary school... An administrator who has been an obnoxious pain in the rear for the last half decade was wearing a mask that said "I am Black, Woke and extremely Sassy!", With Black, Woke and Sassy being large and legible from a distance.
Yup. That tracks.
I'm pretty sure those flags violate the flag code.
Certain "patriotic Americans" really love violating the flag code in all kinds of ways. I really don't care one way or another, but I find it amusing.
Yeah... I think that ship sailed in the 70s. Once you have flag jeans and flag bathing suits... Can you really complain about desecration?
You sure you don't care about the flag code. Your story of obsessed with. You're the only person I've heard talk about it in the last decade. Maybe you should examine yourself.
My brother is kind of weirdly obsessed with it, which is probably why I mention it more than most people. But I don't spend much time thinking about it. Just occasionally note the irony that flag waving, law and order types are often ignorant of the statute on how you are supposed to treat the flag.
Flags have been a form of communication since the dawn of civilization.
Some people learn Esperanto, some learn Klingon, some know where every fork on a formal dining set goes. Some people learn and know flag code.
I will say, I've never seen anyone who knows the flag code scream and berate any children for wearing a mask with a flag on it, or organize social upheaval against a private residence flying the Norwegian flag that they thought was the stars and bars (even though the American flag *was* flying on its own left).
And even though the only resemblance between the flag of Norway and the Confederate battle flag [1] is that both have a cross - in different colors and orientation. So do the Swedish, Danish, Icelandic, and Swiss flags.
[1] "Stars and bars" is NOT the battle flag with a diagonal cross. It was the original flag of the Confederacy, looking much like the early USA flags. Other than a reduced number of stars, it differed only in having 3 wide "bars", red-white-red, rather than 13 stripes. Hanging from a pole, flags are only partially visible and the stars and bars looked far too much like the stars and stripes to tell the sides apart in battle, so the Confederate military adopted the distinctly different flag with the diagonal cross.
As we were taught way back in Boy Scouts. The flag code isn't law. The flag code is manners.
Similarly, we are taught that sometimes, it's acceptable to be rude in order to make a point.
Combine these two points, and you understand the point of these flags.
Of course, this requires remembering lessons from early childhood and being able to comprehend their meanings.
And what does the US Flag stand for? Oh, yeah, Freedom and Liberty - including the ability to have an opinion.
A house in our neighborhood was flying the blue line American flag and also had a Biden sign in their yard before the last election. I walked by a couple days later and the flag was gone but the sign was still there. Guess they got schooled.
"That's not the American flag. That's the new confederacy flag." "I never had someone talk to me like that, yell at me in my face, especially a teacher," said student Lucas Lillar.
To be fair, the thin rainbow flag is the new NAZI flag.
it's gettin' all nazi germany up in here lol
Student should have kicker her in the nuts
