We All Are COVID Cops Now
Politicians evade responsibility when they make civilians enforce mask and vaccine mandates.

Amid the ongoing debate about COVID-19 restrictions and when to lift them, an interesting argument has emerged among certain members of the chattering class—one where the entire discussion is already obsolete because the restrictions under discussion don't actually exist. To mention the notion of returning to normal is to be met with incredulity: "What do you mean, 'back to normal'?! We're already there!"
It's a glimpse into another world, one where it's possible to forget COVID even exists unless you happen to turn on the news. A world of shuttling kids from gymnastics class to birthday parties, of weekend trips to the zoo, of languorous Sunday brunches with family and friends. Alex Pareene, writing on Substack, describes the idyllic view from there:
For $107 I could book a flight to Bermuda this weekend. The Knicks lost at home yesterday; a fan was spotted at the game watching The Office on mute. Vietnamese restaurant Que Viet, a Minneapolis mainstay famous for the giant egg rolls on a stick it sells each year at the Minnesota State Fair, is opening a St. Paul location. The number one movie in the country is Scream.
It all seems very normal.
It must—and it all sounds very nice. It's no surprise, under the circumstances, that a person living in this world might write an essay with the title "We're all trying to find the guy policing our behavior," the obvious implication being that the guy doesn't exist.
If you're a small business owner or a service worker tasked with enforcing COVID-19 restrictions, it's a lot easier to find the COVID police: You just have to look in the mirror.
"What most of the restrictions on our behavior (and the behavior of most other Americans) have in common is that they are not being imposed on us by power-grabbing authority figures," Pareene writes. It's a fascinating statement, true from certain angles while also being fundamentally detached from reality. Mask mandates, vaccine passports, and other restrictions are being imposed on us by authority figures, but those government authorities have delegated enforcement to individual citizens.
It's a sneaky sleight of hand. The authorities hide behind the curtain, making the rules (and inflicting punishment on those who don't follow them). But the face of the restrictions, the one people spit in when they're angry about the disruption to their lives? That's your restaurant manager, your flight attendant, your minimum wage cashier.
Not everyone thinks this is a bad thing. Some people—the Brooklyn bouncer who reportedly turned away a patron for being vaccinated with an inferior brand, the flight attendant who's just a little too stoked about banning two-year olds who don't wear their masks correctly—are all too happy not just to wield this power but to abuse it. But for those of us who never wanted to play cop, being essentially blackmailed into the role is not just a constant reminder that things are far from normal; it's an endless source of stress.
I include myself in this category. I teach group fitness classes in a town with a mask mandate, and enforcing it is both exhausting and infuriating: persuading people to put their masks on, assuaging the clients who freak out if someone's mask slips below their nose, worrying that the city will fine my boss into oblivion if I can't get a room full of vaccinated adults to keep their faces covered during an hour of vigorous exercise even though the cloth masks we're wearing for the sake of compliance are, per the CDC, not especially effective. When people ask, "Who is policing your behavior?," I want to scream: "It's me! I am! I hate it!" The mayor of my city has thrust me into the role of the Mask Police whether I want it or not.
This isn't a new development, but rather the leveraging of an impulse that's been prevalent throughout the pandemic. People have been surveilling and snitching on each other, almost recreationally, since the first lockdown went into effect. The idea of reporting your neighbors for noncompliance is not just becoming normalized; it's a way that people who have been left feeling hopeless and helpless by the events of the last two years can feel, at least briefly, as if they're in control of something. The enthusiasm for such measures isn't limited to blue states, or for that matter to pandemic policies. Consider the new Texas abortion law, which was explicitly designed not to be enforced by DAs or police but by private individuals with the time and inclination to interfere in other people's lives.
This is the catch-22 of having power during the pandemic. The authorities who impose these mandates are being screamed at every day to do something to combat the spread of a wildly contagious virus that, realistically, they can't do a lot to contain. So they do something, but they don't want the blowback if the something doesn't work. If case rates in my town keep rising despite the mask mandate, nobody will ever admit that the policy was flawed; it'll just be blamed on the individuals who didn't comply, and on the service workers and small business owners who didn't make them comply.
When ordinary people do the dirty work of enforcing the rules, the people who made those rules get to maintain the illusion of clean hands—aided by the narrative that nothing about this is abnormal at all, that there's nothing to see here, that this is how things have always been.

Turns out that two-thirds of the East Germans were reporting to the Stasi on their neighbors. No doubt they all felt virtuous.
In the three greatest authoritarian takeovers (Russia, China, Germany) part of their indoctrination was to get neighbors to report neighbors and then train and indoctrinate kids to report parents. It is one of the primary tools authoritarians use. And we see it ever present on the left these days.
Just like lobsters stopping each other from escaping the trap.
Together!!
What the Lead Lemming shouted going over the cliff!
Mmmmm re heated BK Chick sandwich and Rocky and Bullwinkle DVD!
HA! What a life.
SPITZELINFLATION ?
Can't agree with the notion that Ossis must have felt virtuous pre-Wallfall. Whence does this supposition come from? Any source for the 2/3 figure?
Wiki has this: "The Stasi infiltrated almost every aspect of GDR life. ... By the time that East Germany collapsed in 1989, the Stasi employed 91,015 employees and 173,081 informants.[33] About one out of every 63 East Germans collaborated with the Stasi. By at least one estimate, the Stasi maintained greater surveillance over its own people than any secret police force in history.[34] The Stasi employed one secret policeman for every 166 East Germans. By comparison, the Gestapo deployed one secret policeman per 2,000 people. As ubiquitous as this was, the ratios swelled when informers were factored in: counting part-time informers, the Stasi had one agent per 6.5 people. This comparison led Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal to call the Stasi even more oppressive than the Gestapo.[35]

20% (undoubtedly higher in practice) not oppressive enough for you?
Totally right. As a Black and gay conservative who is GOPProud like Milo and Caitlyn Jenner you know who I blame when the guy at my bagel shop puts a sign saying that you can’t come in without a mask? Joe Fucking Biden. That’s who. My only quibble with your post is that you compare it with East Germany. Surely, they s kind of ideological and totalitarianism is worse than that.
You can "blame" Joe Biden for anything you want, but in this case you certainly won't be displaying any reason, unless your bagel shop employs over 100 people.
As a black and gay conservative who is GOP proud, I imagine you might know something of the way the GOP responded to the AIDS epidemic in the 80s. Some top GOP leaders called for tattooing those who had been infected with HIV. Others called for forced internment camps. Throughout the nation, laws were passed that criminalized the transmission of the virus. And now the GOP is the party of freedom in the face of a pandemic?
It’s exactly the way the GOP responded to the AIDS epidemic that makes me think that the GOP is the party of gay liberation. They really respect the LGBTQIA coalition— of which I am a part of alongside Average Joes like Milo and Caitlin.
Biden is to blame, but youre lying about being conservative to change topics to attempt to deflect criticism of biden.
Lame old tired Troll meme.
Meme Fail
The topic is societal response to a novel pathogen. How is anything that I said off-topic?
Not so at all at all. The topic is the societal response to a twisted and tyrannical GOVERNMENT response to a mild pathogen with a total survival rate of 98.5% or more, by imposing numersoua "metjods" claimed to ge "sfe and effective" against said mild pathogen but are utterly useless against it.
The sad part is that while government at the Fed level ARE muttr=ering and sputtering, it is government at the LOCAL (state and right on down to dogcatcher level), or even one step lower, to local school boards) putting on their new super kool Tyrant Hats and bossing everyone "beneath them around at every opportunity.
This behaviour on the part of government is NOT "conservative" by any stretch or perversioni.
We All Are COVID Cops Now
I can't wait to beat someone down and plant evidence on them!
we found this guy with seventeen vials of ivermectin ...
Street value 59 billion dollars!
next week on Trafficked! With Mariana Van Zellweger ...
But can you shoot a dog in cold blood?
Is that question going to be on the exam? 'cause if it is, I can't be a cop.
They'll provide training. Apparently. Since it appears to be SOP for most cops.
I can't shoot a dog regardless my internal temperature.
If there's a QI-backed paycheck and a constitutionally-guaranteed, transferable pension, I'll shoot all the dogs you need with my blood anywhere between 95.5 and 102°F.
Dog. The other, other White Meat.
The part that would trip me up is "Do you agree with our policy that the guy 'out collecting for the red cross' has rights? As well as our toss flashbangs into kid's rooms first, ask questions later policy?"
I'm 100% sure of Chris Dorner's guilt. I'm not 100% sure of his incorrectness or immorality.
No I cnat but I WOULD pose this questio: what in the world is that dog DOING soaking in a trough of cold blood? If he's THAT barmy maybe someone DOES need to put him out of his perversion. If not, the possibilty this sort of behaviour might spread to pterh dogs is intolerably high.
Or catch politicians partying in Florida or dining with Big Pharma, without masks.
We All Are COVID Cops Now
FYI, that's how this works. You enlist your entire population as informants and agents of the state. It's like we never read a book about East Germany.
What isn't an agent or merged with the state these days? Big tech for sure is. Big pharma for sure is. Upper education sure is. The mainstream media is. 70% of those in the millennial and gen Z generation are.
Our Founders fought a Revolutionary War over, in part, this.
The King used his Corporations to harass us and eat out our sustenance.
Thats what the Tea Party implied.
Trade.
Fuck Joe Biden
>>civilians enforce mask and vaccine mandates.
every person has the choice to not give a fuck about the next guy.
When it's your business and your livelihood, that you've poured your life savings into building, it's a lot harder to not give a fuck when the government is standing there ready to close you down.
One of the MOST pernicious aspects of mask mandates is the social tension it causes. I live in a place where most people ignore the state mandate, yet it's still always there, people are always at odds, and you might be in for a fight if you just go about your business and not give a fuck about the next guy. It's a social cancer.
Not giving a fuck about your fellow citizens is the cancer.
Bullshit. Not giving a fuck is the fine balanced point of enlightenment between wanting to rob him at gunpoint and wanting to control his life, "for his own good".
I prefer "not giving a fuck" to either extreme and especially the extreme where someone (not appoint by me for the task) decides they need to inflict some "good" on me.
One of C.S.Lewis' best:
"The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."
While I agree that the C.S. Lewis quote is a fine indictment of the church, I do wonder whether or not you want people to give a fuck when they get behind the wheel of a car.
ok, karen ......... or is it......... darren
I know one couinty where the Shiriff's Department decided it was NOT their business to enforce the stupid governor's mandate on mug nappies. They formally adopted a policy that would govern their response to any calls or complaoints or reports.
"Oh so sorry to hear about that. but we really are not the correct agency to contact and report about that. No, that is a HEALTH issue, and we are LAW ENFORCEMENt. We cannot deploy personnel to address that issue. We recommend you call the County Health department. Here is their phone nubmer". Then they laugh as they hang up the phone, KNOWING that department is badly understaffed, mostlyh working from home, with either temrianl hold or a "pelase leave a detailed message and we will get back to you on this matter".
Works. A few do don the nappies on the wrong end, most of the rest of us simply walk on, unimpeded, unharrassed, unconcerned, KNOWING we rae causing no one any harm at all, except possibly a few worry warts that haev swallowed da gummit lies in one big chunk. They wont die of the WooFlew, but may well die of apoplexy from the stress of warting about their heightened likelihood of contracting the virus that will kill us all, so s o what does it matter w're all gonna die this year anyway. H wait ,that was :AST year we were all gonna die, wasnt it?
No, has the choice to not turn Sociopath and try to CONTROL him.
Big Diff.
This isn't a new development, but rather the leveraging of an impulse that's been prevalent throughout the pandemic. People have been surveilling and snitching on each other, almost recreationally, since the first lockdown went into effect. An article that is basically describing East Germany, but never mentions it. Kay.
that would be racist or something.
nah, can't be. Ever been to a European beach community during the summer? Germans are as white as they get.
GERMANS ARE ACTUALLY QUITE COLORFUL
[in repudiation of "as white as they get"]
1. Deutschland is Multi-Kulti now, at least in the big cities.
2. What does the snitching topic have to do with skin color? And how "braun" Germans allow themselves to get depends on how long they stay on the beach, plus skin cancer awareness. Achtung! Braun also has a political connotation, along with red, green, and other coleurs. Notably, red is for the left of the spectrum: Social-Democrats, Socialists, Communists.
3. As for GDR analogies, that must necessarily go to the then-regime, not the East-vs-West hemi-populations since they are all the same "ein Volk" (not so multikulti then, though with many Turkish "guest workers" in the FRG assisting with post-WWII economic miracle).
4. The mask policy/STASI analogy is a bad one to begin with, because the mission of STASI was state security not epidemic containment and was all-encompassing: keeping the Honecker regime in power and the population under control, i.e. suppress dissent and would-be challenges to communist rule. It would make much more sense to compare U.S. approach(es) to contemporary COVID-mitigation policies in Germany and elsewhere in Europe. Germany is fitting b/c they also have federal/state/local issues.
For a lighter take on colorful Germanity on the ground, see street-walkers and -talkers interviewed by miscellaneous "Ausländer"s (foreigners) here:

In the early stages of the pandemic, April 2020 or so, the county where I live set up a snitching hotline, where people could call in and report on businesses which were supposed to be closed, but were secretly open for business.
They got a lot of tips from the local Covid Karens at first, until someone made a FOIA / Sunshine law request and sued to have both the complaints and the complainers made public.
https://www.ksdk.com/article/news/investigations/tips-released-st-louis-county-businesses-not-compliant-stay-home-order-coronavirus/63-45c38fc8-5714-48f5-8de6-09c8ffdeff21
HA!!
We had one of these in our county too. They shut it down when it got filled with dick pics.

Move to free America.
Maybe you should stop being the police then. Simple solution. That's how this ends.
Yup. Enough people must refuse to do it. That's the only way out.
That's the trick though. The first hundred people to step out of line will be run out of polite society and never be allowed to return. The next thousand people will get utterly crushed and lose everything. The next hundred thousand will suffer terrible life-altering consequences.
Who wants to be number one?
near everyone around here.
Weve universally told them to stuff tgeir rules { E TN)
These hard headed Scotts dont cotton to that kind of stupidity.
I urge Kat Rosenfield (author of this rant) mobilize other freedom lovers in her city, and confront the mayor (and council) and tell him/her/them that you will quit your jobs and/or move out of the city if they don't rescind the unscientific and totalitarian mask mandate.
Then organize public protests until the mask mandate is ended.
And of course, stop wearing masks, Unless and until sheeple revolt, they will remain sheeple.
Why would you urge her to mobilize other freedom lovers? Just tell the FBI, they'll get the mob together, probably provide pitchforks too.
I've heard they won't provide tar though, for fear of rogue blackface.
Here in Pittsburgh, many buildings, businesses and employers still require masks to enter (but then many/most people remove them inside their office/building), while many/most others require employees to wear masks (but not customers).
I've only worn a mask several times during the past year (to go to a doctor and 2 courthouses that required them to enter) since the GOP PA legislature and courts halted Gov Wolf's statewide mask mandate).
I refuse to do business with anyone who requires/tells me to wear a mask.
Then organize public protests until the mask mandate is ended.
And when the crazies inevitably show up along with them, the protest will be written off as having jumped the shark, and will be at best, ignored by the media, and at worst, will be excoriated by the press who focuses on those crazies.
Agreed. There are many more non-political subversive ways to keep your job and fuck the establishment. Going directly to the Mayor makes it political on their terms.
Become a private-contract fitness instructor, just renting the facilities. Anybody anti-mask or mask-ambivalent can take your classes, pro-maskers need not apply. Then the gym can tell the police to go get a mask-mandate warrant and the police can either choose to wait around outside and arrest a group of people exercising without a
licenseor get a judge to issue them a warrant to arrest people for exercising without alicensemask. Then, police, judge, and Mayor can all answer to the public for arresting people for exercising without alicensemask. That's why the solution is simple civil (in all senses of that word) disobedience not protests. Protests attract the crazies and the political assholes like shit draws flies.
yup.
Dont think so? Then look at every Left Wing protest...Chock Full o Nuts.
I'm the only guy in Arapahoe County, Colorado, who buys groceries without a facial decoration. The only store that bothers me is the Arc Thrift Store. 99% of the people are decorated.
"among certain members of the chattering class"
"some people—...—are all too happy not just to wield this power but to abuse it."
"People have been surveilling and snitching on each other, almost recreationally, since the first lockdown went into effect."
"The idea of reporting your neighbors for noncompliance is not just becoming normalized; it's a way that people who have been left feeling hopeless and helpless by the events of the last two years can feel, at least briefly, as if they're in control of something. "
Anyone else discerning a common thread here? I seem to recall that a character named Pogo had something to say on this.
She's talking about her friends/family/entire social circle.
Not all of us.
I never thought about trying to force my personal scientific conclusions about the Communist Chinese Virus on someone else.
I don't really care if the others in my vicinity are masked or vaxxed; they can make their own choices.
Fortunately, I live in free America, so I haven't (yet) had to take to the streets, but I remember enough of the sixties to deal with it if the blue bastards come again.
(fun fact: both pitchforks and torches are available on Amazon)
Just ignore the mandates. 99% of the time no one will bother you,m.
Try that where I live, see how far that gets you.
Last time I’d shop there.
And yet another irrefutable argument for the return of dueling.
People are fucking apes.
Guess the meaning of that depends upon the inflection, right?
Move.
In Joe Biden’s Nazi socialist Amerikkka?!? Clearly you have no idea what has gone on in this country in the last year when this country suddenly went from freedom-loving capitalist to something that compares unfavorably with something the Khmer Rouge might set up. How do you spell tyranny? I’ll tell you how: D…E…M…O…N…C…R…A…T…P…A…R…T…Y
chattering class
Not to defend whatever position the chattering class may or may not be taking, but I'm having a hard time coming up with a more tone-deaf, derisive way to say "I'm a journolist!"
Have you been denounced as a Commie or Fascist lately? Bastard anyone? Anti-fillintheblank whatever?
As a self-admitted member of the Kommentariat (the party-crasher equivalent) I would gratutiously opine that "chattering classes" is pretty mild as far as denigrations go. Arugably it's even cute.
Fourth and Fifth-Estaters anyone?
Fair enough. I guess there should be a 'blithely' and 'strictly in the realm of speech' in there somewhere.
I was thinking "I'm a Fifth-Estater..." is more political and less derisive than the "and you're not."
The Fourth Estate is grown up in weeds with broken windows, doors hanging off their hinges, in arrears on taxes.
Time to tear it down and rebuild.
Sorry, but you can't tear it down due to an appeal to the Diversity and Inclusion Council of the State Architectural Heritage Office.
It's because of the graffiti, you see. Tearing the dilapidated, urine-soaked, junkie-infested building down would be culturally disrespectful, even though anyone can see the exterior "mural" is not art, but rather the result of someone whose motor control is too impaired to spray paint "Fuck the Cops" after huffing half a can of gold (with glitter!).
HA!
If I was still running my small biz, I would be charging government $100/hr for covid enforcement, all day I was open, every day.
Well, you could try. Best case scenario, it would be like Parkland Hospital's traditional bill to the president of Mexico for complementary treatment of his citizens, which has never received a reply.
Worst case scenario, you would get on a list to be singled out for investigation or enforcement.
which p"presidente" has countered wiht a lawsuit agaisnt American gun manufacturers and retailers to reimburse Mexico for all the medical bills they've had to pay for the thuosands getting shot up down that way. He's delusioinal.. unless he's got the money and connexions to find "the right "judge""
A school in Fairfax va called cops on a mother of a 5 and 7 year old for being unmasked today.
Like others have said, just stop enforcing it numb nuts. You're part of the problem.
Seriously. Does the author believe she deserves sympathy or something?
Fishing does not necessarily imply catching fish...
So the governments are requiring people to work, under penalty of law, without any compensation. Sounds sorta like slavery.
I just don't get it. In my state everyone has been pretty much back to normal with the exception of the leftist run cities. I have no need to enter those zones so I just don't cross into their city limits. My doctor's office doesn't even require masks unless you have obvious cold symptoms.
There doesn't seem to be much difference in the rate of cases or deaths in my county and the leftists-run county next door which is still requiring masks for everyone.
I wouldn't dare impose my opinion on to someone else as to whether or not they should wear a mask. How would I know the specifics of their particular medical situation?
Here two, after two years, almost nothing has changed. Traffic reduction due to a lot of work-from-home, a minority of mask-wearers, though that picked up when a mandate got panic-passed by the City Council, now rescinded.
Any place that wants to insist on masking can just do without my business or recommendation,
You will see some idiots masked, alone in their cars or ostentatiously walking their dogs (masked) down the middle of the street (the houses might have unvaxxed or unmasked in them!), but they are rare.
You missed a huge part of it. It's not just that business have become the enforcement mechanism of legally binding mask and vaccine mandates in hard left states and cities. It's not even that we have gestapo tactics of citizens ratting their neighbors out. It's that despite the 100 employee vaccine mandate correctly struck down by the supreme court, many companies will voluntarily still require vaccination and/or masks of their employees and even customers, without being legally required to. Biden may have lost legally, but to a large extent the covid authoritarian crowd won by normalizing businesses invading the medical privacy of their employees and even customers. Our society as a whole is literally this ok with authoritarianism at this point (which has personally taken my already plentiful cynicism to new heights).
The authoritarian shithole I work at still requires vaccination of all onsite emplyees and the HR tyrants sent an e-mail out right after the supreme court verdict that the company will still fire anyone not vaccinated by Feb 1st. I am personally exempt because I'm fully remote. I told the HR jackasses in a not so friendly e-mail how I feel about their policies and that I will refuse to visit headquarters if it requires vaccination and I will only wear a mask at headquarters if it applies to everybody regardless of vaccination status. Needless to say, my resume is being sent out pretty regularly these days and if I find a job, I'm not giving them a day's notice let alone 2 weeks.
The common, everyday people who enforce and support this shit need to start feeling some pain. And I don't mean metaphorical pain, but real physical pain. And it needs to be widespread.
Let there be consequences for willingly serving the system. Were French collaborators supposed to be just forgiven for working with/for the totalitarians, whether misled or not?
No arguments here. If it's one thing the past 2 years have taught me is there are plenty of everyday people who are not 1 bit better than a Nazi or Vichy or Bolshevik or any other useful idiot authoritarian and need to be treated as the subhuman slime they are.
The authoritarian shithole I work at still requires vaccination of all onsite emplyees and the HR tyrants sent an e-mail out right after the supreme court verdict that the company will still fire anyone not vaccinated by Feb 1st.,
This is EXACTLY what I'm seeing. The culture has literally changed under our feet. Or perhaps better said, the culture was revealed before our eyes. All it needed was the right event to start the chain reaction... like one of those reusable heat packs where you click the little metal disc.
Time to Go Galt, turn off, drop out and head for the more civilized places where people still obey the most fundamental law of getting along: Mind your own business.
Problem is "it takes a lot of money to live simply". Not everyone has the luxury of heading out into the sticks. And some weird people even like being around crowds.
Many of us are dependent on modern medicine. Running off to the wilderness and living in a hovel in the woods is not an option for us. I wouldn't last six months without my meds.
I assure you we have meds in Tennessee.
I think we have different ideas of what "the sticks" means. I mean the wilderness, not Memphis.
Got moonshine in the sticks!
Kat, you just described the plight of public school teachers everywhere. They are given a set of rules and procedures they have to enforce by administrators (and GOP legislatures) and then when students do not comply they cannot boot the kids from class or from school because they do not want to be seen as the teacher who cannot control their students. So they turn into ugly monsters who shout at kids and get caught on camera looking like tyrants. In the end everyone is miserable.
So they turn into ugly monsters who shout at kids and get caught on camera looking like tyrants.
Those damned kids with their Instagrams taking videos of teachers with the tyrant filters turned on! I tells ya, tain't right!
How about saying that you have been ordered to read the following policy, etc............ And then if people have complaints about others not following policy the only remedy is for them to write down the complaint, sign it, and put it in the comments box.
"I include myself in this category. I teach group fitness classes in a town with a mask mandate, and enforcing it is both exhausting and infuriating: "
Then don't, you cowardly fucking whore.
The approach codified in the Texas abortion law and tacitly approved by the Supreme Court. Virginia setting up tip lines to report teachers teaching “divisive concepts.” Ditto NH. Gonna see more of it.
Even without "mandates", there are many businesses that follow "CDC guidance" even when it's ambiguous at best and contradictory at worst. They follow the "guidance" thinking that it absolves them from responsibility of any injuries that might be caused by masking, vaxxing, or even furloughing employees.
Oh, I think it does “absolve them from responsibility.”
For now, at least.
The solution, of course, is for ordinary people to stop enforcing these mandates. Including the author.
What Covid showed me is the vast majority of North Americans would snitch on Anne Frank.
Sadly the case.
No. No way. No fucking way would I ever be the Chinese Flu Police. Neither should you. I don't rat on people, especially for stupid shit like masks. ANYONE who votes to re-elect ANY politician who has shoved their stupid rules up people's asses will be no better than the politicians themselves. Remember come election time. I sure will.
Reserve currency helps the people running the flawed system to continue to run the system errors. Until of course the currency loses all its magic. This means we're headed into the worst of it, but hopefully this won't matter much to the good people. Only the ones in need of narcissistic supply
They are "cops" only when they agree to enforce the tyranny. Thus these "cops" are no different than the people that put the Jews (and many other undesirables) on the boxcars.
Easy solution. Next time you can vote, don’t pick a person with a (D) after there name.
Wes got ' shine.
Washington State. Businesses businesses can lose their business licenses, their food licenses, their liquor licenses, their gambling licenses if they don't enforce the mandate. Needless to say the vast majority of them do because they can't afford to do otherwise.
Then they should operate without licenses.

Crackpots on the Left side, hot n cold running illegals on the right.
the REAL solution is to fie a FEDERAL lawsuit for restraint of interstate commerce, for unconstitioinally enacing "codes" with the effect and forct of law, not by the lesgialtive process. There are also Federal laws being violated, such as the NUremburg Code and the same laws codified into U S Code, and binding eveyrwhere, huge fines. We also have an issue of these coronacoips "practicing mediciine" by demanding individuals accept certain medical treatments wihtut provind wirtten i nfmrmed consent by the one undergoing the tratment. And any pressure or threat of job loss, sanction, etc, is in cleaer violation of those laws, enacted y the US COngress. Don't bother filing in any state or local court, the entire court system is corrupt, even the Supremes. They jig to Jay's fiddle. We also have an issue wiht non-deputised individuals being required to enforce these improperly "enacted" rules as if they were laws. Teachers are NOT cops, and cannot enforce laws, Neither are store clerks, secreataries, gym class leaders like this author.
Further, in Washinton the task of making and enforcing the "laws" (that are not law at all) is a form of slavery, forcing an individual to DO what they do not want to DO. And without any lawful authority to so act. Further , that State dEpartment of Labor and Industaries has ZERO jjurisdiction over ME< a non-employee private citizen, within any business premises. Then cay no more mandate anything when I'm insid eWalMart than they can come to my private home and makdate or restrict my conduct there. Thjeir authority extends ONLY to those lawfully eployed by the owner/management of the business premises in question, or working under contract off site (say, building houses). NOWHERE where no-employees congregate is under their authority. L&I formed the mask mandates, they CAN enforce them for employees ONLY, but NOT for the general public as they move about in the publically accessible portioins of the premises. SOMEONE should challenge this one in Federal Court.
IOW, Communism.
One goal of Encroaching Communism is to position Administrators to make law.
This is that.
Snitches get stiches.
Easy to say, less easy to do, especially if you have a storefront.
Yep. And since a secondary goal of the seemingly irrational covid responses is the centralization of business online via the destruction of physical storefronts and small businesses, it's a win/win. For them.
And remember, it was Seattle businesses that demanded a vaccine passport. They imposed one voluntarily but when a group of people came in to a club or restaurant, when one or two of the people in the group didn't have a passport, they'd leave the business and go somewhere that didn't demand it.
This infuriated the well-connected businesses and went to the city council to make it mandatory. The rest was history.
covid "cops"?
really?
More like COVID enforcers is probably the better description...
"CDR"
MOST OF WHATS IN THIS REPORT ON CUBAS HAPPENING IN THE US.
"The Ministry of Interior employed a system of informants and neighborhood committees, known as “Committees for the Defense of the Revolution,” to monitor government opponents and report on their activities. Agents from the ministry’s General Directorate for State Security subjected foreign journalists, visiting foreign officials and diplomats, academics, and businesspersons to frequent surveillance, including electronic surveillance."

Frankly, Russia taking Cuba over might be an improvment.
Theres been a " thing" going on in Cuba that Id not heard of. Maybe this is related to why the number of Amateur radio ops on the air in Cuba dropped way off recently?
At least Castro pretended to be Popularist.
While his people carried out roadside executions of people on his political enemies list.
Fuck Biden and CNN:
",BIDEN WITHDRAWS BIG BIZ VAX MANDATE"
Drudge
hahahaha.
I can't get a room full of vaccinated adults to keep their faces covered during an hour of vigorous exercise even though
PROOF positive that either or both of the "vaccines" and the masks are worthless. IF the vaccines worked, there would be no need for masks, If the masks worked there'd be no reason to vaccinate. The ONLY rationsl excuse to mandate these two things together is to instill fear aintimidation and control.
An hour of vigourous exercise? Dont they know that the mug nappies restrict breathing to the point of intruducing hypoxia in the wearer? Not to mention thehigh danger of re-breathing CO2 being exhaled, and collecting harmful pathogens and chemicals in the mask itself that are then re=breathed (after being concentrated) cauing all manner of sinus, respiratory, nasal and lung issues..... That is why hospital personnel MUST take breathing breaks after no more than one huor wearing these things, those breaks being at least fifteen minutes with bare face.
I wonderif that " "fintness" club will face any lwgal action for respiratory harm caused by demanding patrons cover their faces
no more face covers.
In the name of Health it must also be mandated wonen stop wearing bras.
Masks are a tyrranical representation of society forcing womyn to cramp their tits into slavery holsters.
Freedom, I say. FREE-DOM !
#FREETATAS
I appreciate you needing to enforce the mask mandate as a matter of contract (i.e. contract states that members must follow all of the health rules imposed on the gym), but as a libertarian, I certainly wouldn't enforce these mandates and am shocked that any libertarian would. This is a time for civil disobedience.
the management has the right to make rules on operation of their business/ facility/ employees.
NOT THE PUBLIC.
Thats where Common ( and other) codified Law comes into play.
Eg. Corps made up their own rules thst they are now Patriot Act Police and demand ID for cash transactions.
Its often a serious ' deer in the headlights look' when I refuse to give them personal info.
Patriot Act requires Financial Institutions to ' know their customers'
damn this software...

.
to discourage and identify money laundering.
NO terrorists go to bLowes to buy a kitchen oven or duct tape.
And especially since Drivers License and SSN are highly confidential ID info forbidden to be disclosed under US Law, it aint happening by me!
I wont put up with corps attempting to
'enforce' rules on me. " I dont work for you" usually does the trick.
When that doesnt, it's " see, money walking out the door."
Well, yeah, b-----c and complain. And go to a packed bar and get drunk and get infected. And pass it on to me so I can give it to my 87-year-old mother with health problems and my sister with a rare form of muscular dystrophy that has her now able to barely move one hand and her head. And that's it. And she must take drugs to stay alive that compromise her immune system. And we all are terrified, she is terrified. Amazing what pathetic and self-entitled Americans complain about. "We have to enforce a mask mandate that will mitigate people coughing and sneezing in a crowded room and spewing the virus through the entire air space. Oh, my life is awful because of that." You jerks don't know what real problems are. Try knowing you're living with a disease that is destroying your spine. They have to keep injecting stuff into it so I can move my head. These are problems. Far beyond your pathetic complaints. Unbelievable.
Sounds like both would welcome the sweet release of not being alive anymore....still breathing doesn't mean you're "alive"
That's ALL..., your problem dude. NOT MINE!! So how about YOU stay home and "protect" your sick ass family. As it is YOU.., who will catch da Kungflu and bring it into your home. So u see clown boy.... U r the carrier of death to your minions. So stay home.., and be safe. The rest of humanity appreciate your "sacrifice". Plus it's one more moron tucked into his prison cell and out of r hair. So be safe... And be gone with your dumbass.
The Phucko Knows
Her's a novel idea for you whining idiots. Don't go to the gym! We didn't even have them everywhere before. All the well-off people and hoity-toity entitled people feel like they MUST have a gym membeship when really no one needs one. Buy a treadmill or bike and keep your heads down until this thing has a chance to die down. Astonishing how self-entitled and privileged Americans are. And selfish. It's always me, me, me. As the Chinese buffet with a giant room still seats people right on top of each other. And the patrons seated around you cough. With their heads 3 feet from yours.
Lots of self absorbed arrogant personal attacks arent a great way to engender others to read your comments.
Sounds like you have serious emotional problems.
Try counselling. Youre the typical whining liberal trying to blame your sisters problems
( that you may just be inventing to Troll) on everyone else.
Here's a novel idea for YOU....sequester your barley alive family and go visit them in a hazmat suit.
If they were allergic to sun, would you require us all to live in the darkness? Should we mandate the regular flu shot too...seems like if their condition is as bad as you say, even the smallest thing will take them out.
My town has a mask mandate but I don't wear one unless I'm going to a doctor or hospital. No one has ever said anything to me.
FOUR calendar years.
It aint working.
Its time to ' shoot the Unicorns' and move on.
In South Carolina, your boss and others who ask about your COVID and vaccination status will soon get to pay $14,000 fines for each offense.
Dear author of this nonsense article.
You are right on one point, you are the problem...the solution is to stop being part of the problem.
