Police in Sea Cliff, New York, have arrested teacher Laura Russo for injecting a 17-year-old boy with a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine without his parents' permission. The Nassau County School District said Russo has been reassigned from the classroom pending the resolution of her case. Russo gave the boy the vaccine at her home. Police say Russo is not authorized to give the vaccine.

The key point being lost is that, even if you could just find one on the street, it's not like you can just put it in the freezer for a week until you find a willing teen to dose with it. You pretty much have to... conspire... with the teen and whomever is giving you the dose to have it at the house when the teen shows up.

I'm all in favor of people, even teens, having access to medications and dosing themselves as they knowingly see fit, but a dose from God-knows-where, stored in God-knows what fashion under the guise of 'Follow the science!'? GTFO!

The mom was doing what this kid’s own mom wouldn’t do, provide a vaccine so he could do things his friends were doing.

Oh, that makes it ok. What if instead of providing a "vaccine", this mom bought the boy a keg so he could drink like his friends? Because, you know, his own mom wouldn't do it.

And she probably did not have the facilities to store the vaccine properly (frozen at temperatures much lower than a home deep freeze), nor the chance to use up a whole batch once it was thawed. Unless there is a lot more to the story, she wasted the rest of one batch of vaccine and gave him a probably unsafe and ineffective dose due to improper storage.
