Biden Says the U.S. Is Not Going Back Into Lockdown Over Omicron

As omicron surges, the president urges everyone to get vaccinated and boosted.

|

How concerned should we be about the omicron variant of the COVID-19 coronavirus, asked President Joe Biden in a speech to the nation this afternoon. "We should all be concerned about omicron, but not panicked. If you're not fully vaccinated you are right to be concerned," he correctly stated. Biden also observed that almost every American who has died in the past year of COVID-19 infections was unvaccinated.

Biden acknowledged that the new omicron variant of the coronavirus sweeping through the country is extremely contagious and likely to cause a lot of breakthrough infections among folks who are vaccinated. However, he did emphasize that evidence indicates that vaccinated people who do experience breakthrough infections are much less likely to become severely ill or die.

In July, Biden pointed out, 90 million Americans eligible for vaccination had not yet been inoculated. But that number has now dropped to 40 million. Biden also said that fully vaccinated people can enjoy the holiday safely with their friends and neighbors who are also vaccinated. "I got my booster shot as soon as they were available, and just the other day, former President Trump announced that he had gotten his booster shot," Biden said.

Biden declared that the U.S. was not going back to March 2020, when much of the country locked down at the beginning of the pandemic. Why not? Because 200 million Americans are vaccinated, the health care system is better prepared to protect health care workers and to treat those who do fall ill, and officials know how to protect K-12 students so that schools won't close down.

Biden outlined further steps his administration is taking to address the omicron wave. The federal government is setting up 10,000 new vaccination and 20,000 new free testing sites across the country. In addition, the federal government is purchasing half a billion at-home COVID-19 tests that will be distributed to households for free starting in January. (This will help, but it's too little too late to help Americans cope with the omicron surge.) In addition, 1,000 military medical personnel are being deployed to hotspots where hospitals are already being overwhelmed by COVID-19 patients.

Visibly angry, Biden stated, "Look, the unvaccinated are responsible for their own choices, but those choices have been fueled by dangerous misinformation on cable TV and social media." He added: "You know, these companies and personalities are making money by peddling lies and allowing misinformation that can kill their own customers and their own supporters." That, Biden declared, is "wrong, it's immoral! I call on the purveyors of these lies and misinformation, stop it. Stop it now."

    1. So major question:
Will airlines accept a negative at home test?

      1. "Yeah, ... 'a negative at home test'. *That's* the ticket!"

        1. Just think, after this test they’ll finally let you be free!

      2. Not sure that will fly.

      3. They’re accepted for returning to the U.S. from abroad. But only certain tests.

  2. "I got my booster shot as soon as they were available, and just the other day, former President Trump announced that he had gotten his booster shot," Biden said.

You know it’s a cool thing to do if Trump does it.

    1. Uhm I thought if Trump was for it, you had to be against it. At least that is what Biden, Harris, Pelosi, Schumer et al said in the fall of 2020 when the vaccines were released.

      1. That's not what they said you simpleton. They said they would not rely on Trump's word. Who the f..k would?

        1. Joe is as retarded as ever.

        2. Simpleton? Coming from the person who does nothing but parrot the Democratic line, that seems to be more projection on your part. When you have to rely on pedantry to excuse your party you already lost the argument imbecile.

        3. And it wasn't Trump's word it was the FDA and CDC that okayed the Vaccine under Trump. So they were questioning the word of the same people they now tell us to trust, simply because the President changed. How much paste did you eat as a kid?

          1. Don't spew MAGA bulls..t and you wont get slapped down. Facts ara facts. No one said what you alleged.

          2. No, they weren't questioning the FDA and CDC, they were questioning Trump, a man who your 10 year old can tell is lying.

            1. Trump had nothing to do with fda approval of vaccines. Questioning the fda approval as they asserted is not questioning trump dummy.

            2. So, being an anti-vaxxer if you have "good reasons" to be anti-vax is OK. Got it.

              1. Well, yeah. Kind of by definition of "good reasons", no?

            3. So then it should be easy to tell when he's not lying. Was he lying about the vaccines being great?

      2. Seems like some folks here encountering a bit of cognitive dissonance.

    2. I don't want orange man's vaccine. If it wasn't developed from scratch under a man who doesn't use spray on tan I don't want it.

      1. "However, he did emphasize that evidence indicates that vaccinated people who do experience breakthrough infections are much less likely to become severely ill or die."

Ignoring the FACT that its an admission the vaccine DIDNT WORK.

        Talking about agendas!!

        Lets Go Brandon!

        Im Fully Un-Vaccinated

        And immune!

  3. Vaccines still not approved?
    Emergency use only?
    No liability for manufacturers?
Still not recording and tabulating negative reactions to vaccines?

So same-o same-o; nothing to see here, move along.

    1. Neat how he ignores the deaths were mostly elderly and compromised persons...

      And 0.002% of the population.

      Gotta keep on message

      Fuck Joe Biden

      Im Fully Un- Vaccinated

      1. Fully unvaccinated and foolishly innumerate:

0.002% of America's population would be 6,600 covid deaths.

the death toll passed 800,000 last month.

        1. US populati0n 355,000,000

          800k is 0.002.

          0.2%

          Get over yourself, <b<Assweasel

          1. Remember, math is racist

        2. 3 million people die in the US every year. We must shut everything down until death stops.

          1. Also this a bit of word play from Biden and encourage from Ron "If you're not fully vaccinated you are right to be concerned," he correctly stated. Biden also observed that almost every American who has died in the past year of COVID-19 infections was unvaccinated." We can see recently from Seattle area https://kingcounty.gov/depts/health/covid-19/data/vaccination-outcomes.aspx they we are now at 31% recently of deaths being vaccinated. When you say almost all who died that's using prevax and lower vaxxed numbers from the beginning of this. Ron you can do better than this. I hope.

              1. Wrong one, that is from 1q this year when majority of people weren't able to get a vaccine.

                The recent numbers.

                https://www.irishtimes.com/news/health/covid-54-of-hospital-patients-with-virus-are-fully-vaccinated-1.4670229

Almost like the population numbers matter when claiming x% died of something.

            1. "almost every American who has died in the past year of COVID-19 infections was unvaccinated"

while 90+ % of the population were unaffected.

              The Gaslights going out...

            2. the " unvaxxed only dying" lie is being spread in Germany...just saw it on TV.

Some Pearl Clutcher crying about ' only the unvaxxed in hospitals spreading it how unfair..'

Deliberate stupidity. That corrupt thinking rings of 1936.

      2. The point being you don;t care about elderly and compromised people Dave? Help me out here, because you sound like a psychopath.

        1. And people never took sensible precautions with a cold around grandma before?

But now it's totally not psychotic to shut down the nation, tie cloth virtue signals around our faces and stick experimental drugs into everyone we can?

Barbie Jack, I think the TDS is showing.

        2. It might be best to lock yourself in a trunk for a few centuries. To avoid contact with elderly.

        3. Most elderly people I know would rather spend what time they have left with friends and family rather than have society locked down so they have to slowly die alone.

          1. Why not ASK them?

Theres a lot of not doing that by policy makers.

Odd how DEMOCRACY goes out the window when " emergency" is declared!

1936 here we are. Olympic sized HYPOCRACY!

          2. That would be relevant soldier if anyone was talking about a lockdown here other than you and your fellow paranoids. The point of mandates is to avoid lockdowns.

Nice sentiment you have about the days left of your senior friends and family. Dave doesn't share it with you and apparently you aren't concerned with doing anything to lengthen the numbers of those days either.

            1. You avoid lockdowns by not locking down.

            2. Lockdowns should be avoided in any case because they are incredibly harmful and not particularly effective. Which everyone knew until less than 2 years ago.

        4. If that's true, then you don't care about children and business owners and people who need to work to feed their families.

None of this should be about personal caring. That is not the proper role of public health policy. The only goal there should be to minimize the impact on society in general. And more old and sick people dying, while certainly not something I'm happy about, does not seriously disrupt the functioning of society.
Pubic health fucked it up doubly by fucking up everyone's life unnecessarily while failing to protect and adequately treat the most vulnerable.

  4. Fuck off. You don't get to tell people when they can and can't gather with their friends and families.

    1. Saying that "fully vaccinated people can enjoy the holiday safely with their friends and neighbors who are also vaccinated" doesn't imply anything about what the unvaccinated can or cannot do.

That statement also isn't telling anyone to do anything (or not).

      1. It’s a thinly veiled threat.

        1. He also said the “vaccinated”
          could enjoy the holidays.
He can fuck the hell off.

          1. Hes playing White Knight....

While hell secretly push for State/ Local restrictions.

            2024s coming.

            1. Sock Puppet muted.

I guess youll have to play with yourself...

              I Am Fully Un- Vaccinatef

              FJB

          2. And then stormed out of the room when asked about BBB. Lol.

            1. Pretty sure whatever droolin' Joe does, it can't be labeled as "stormed".

          3. The unvaccinated should enjoy the holidays. Until they become infected by the coronavirus and seek treatment from their betters, at which point they should be -- for several reasons -- denied hospital access and left to take their chances in their bedrooms or on sidewalks with whatever Rogan-Jones-Trump concoction they choose.

            1. BUT....

Since the vaccine does NOT give permanent protection like natural immunity, theres no such thing as fully vaccinated.

Its a count down to the next booster, which proves it doesnt work. If it did, boosters wouldnt be necessary.

            2. Quality grievance signaling. Cut above the local norm – hat tip.

        2. "It’s a thinly veiled threat."

It's difficult to parse and understand statements that come from a different moral universe.

There are a surprising number of Americans who do not want to kill their family members. Hard to believe, but if you really internalize this and then go listen to these statements again you'll understand the intended context a bit more.

      2. Yes, if you take the words completely literally at face value, that is true. So congratulations on being technically correct.
But if you don't think there was an intended subtext there about what the unvaccinated ought to be doing, then I don't know what to tell you.

        1. Happy to make it explicit - the unvaccinated and their families and communities would be better off if they behaved rationally.

Sorry to state it bluntly. Do enjoy your irrational holiday regardless.

          1. I'll make it explicit: you leftists are a virus, and you're living on borrowed time.

            1. The American commitment to reason and liberty has been unpopular in many circles, particularly extremely conservative social and political ones, for a couple of centuries. I don't doubt the ardor behind your desire to stamp this spirit out or otherwise finally execute a final solution as it were, but you may find the task more difficult than you expect. Part of the surprise may be discovering that reason isn't just a competing worldview that you see as hostile – it has quite practical applications.

  5. Fuck Joe Biden

    1. You beat me to it. Any story that mentions him must include the obligatory moniker.

      Fuck Joe Biden

    2. To each their own, but honestly, I've never had any desire to fuck Joe Biden he's just not my type.

At long last, the truth about both vaccines and fluoridation is coming out, and the enemies of the People who have orchestrated these crimes and tried to keep their international agenda secret while infiltrating every true Christian society will be exposed for what – and *who* – they are.

  7. >>the president urges everyone to get vaccinated and boosted

I urge the president to get bent.

    1. The drug cos admitted vaccine dangers.

      Bidens running for cover.

      FJB

  8. Here is the thing. I've had my first two shots. As have my sons. My wife had COVID, extremely mild symptoms, but she has a benign lymphatic tumor that blocks her airway if it becomes swollen (to the point where in 20 years of marriage she's been in the ICU three times on deaths door). The research states that your risk of inflammation increases if you receive the vaccine after having COVID. She went into her doctor to get a medical exemption from the vaccine mandate for health care workers. They couldn't give it, despite the fact the whole medical staff at the clinic felt it was prudent, because the mandate only allows two reasons for a medical exemption. They advised her to get a religious exemption. Her DNS did too. She told them she was Lutheran and it wasn't against her religion. They gave her a script of what to say and assured her it didn't matter. So she got a bullshit religious exemption because the Biden administration wouldn't allow a legitimate possible life or death medical exemption.
We have decided not to have our preteen daughter vaccinated. And my middle child won't receive the booster either. My oldest is in the National Guard so at this time doesn't really have a choice, because as soon as he leaves for basic, if he isn't fully immunized, he will get the shot rather he likes it or not. I have a couple months to decide if I want my booster or not, and I am waiting to see how it all plays out before I make up my mind.

    1. I'm not even going to bother with the booster unless I absolutely have to. I'm almost hoping I catch Omicron since the data out of Africa after a month shows that it's clearly nothing more than the common cold, and since it's so effective at evading the prophylaxis with its multiple spike profile, I'd likely get better immunity than the second shot of magic coof juice anyway.

The only reason I got the jab in the first place was because I was promised this shit would end when I did so. We're going to go in to year three of this panic theater next year, and I'm not interested in playing along now.

    2. I live in the boonies, 45 minutes from the nearest place to get the shot, and only go that way maybe once a month. I have nothing against the two mRNA shots, but the stars didn't align on my first infrequent trips to town .... and then all this vax passport crap started up, mandatory shots, mandatory boosters, and I'm to damned pissed about that satisfy their egos and have avoided the shots on purpose ever since.

Further, I was convinced from the very first reports that COVID is not nearly as bad as the scaremongers want everyone to think. First, when news came out, it smelled fishy -- the timing, the delays, and of course anything from the CCP is suspect right off the bat. There was that cruise ship with low infection and death rates in spite of old folks locked up together for a week.

And everything since has convinced me that my chances of dying or even getting sick from this thing are nowhere near as bad as the scaremongers say. I seldom get colds of any kind. I have never gotten the flu, or any flu shot, and that's because every year is a new flu shot with lousy effectiveness rates, so why bother?

Near as I can tell, COVID is only 2-3 times as scary as the flu, and I'll be damned if I get my name in some government vaccination database for that low a risk. I've asked several places if I can get it anonymously, they say no, and that just confirms my belief that the purpose of the lockdowns and panics is control, not health. If they really believed the vaccination was in people's best interest, they'd dispense with the bureaucracy and registration and give the shots out like candy.

      1. P.S. The reported 800,000 deaths don't scare me. It's inflated, not just by perverse incentives and mandates to report as may deaths as possible as from ("with") COVID, but by the "surprising" drop in flu, pneumonia, and other winter disease deaths. It's disproportionally old sick fat people, and even with that, if you actually calculate how many old folks die, it's nothing as scary as they want everyone to believe. Yes, it may kill me, and the odds are higher than the flu. But not enough to panic me.

        1. I joke that the Army lost my shot records (and I didn't keep my personal records up to date) so I had to restart all my required vaccines multiple times, plus all the ones I had to receive when we were supposed to deploy to the litterbox in 2003, that I am now immune to everything short of radiation from a close proximity nuclear blast. Mind you this is a joke for all the idiots who will post about how none of these vaccines covered COVID.

          1. well you got radiated in the Sandbox so youre immune to everything now!

            1. Except we ended up not going... Long story short, despite us being a tier one CSH, and are gear already being in country, the Pentagon decided to train another tier 3 unit, ship their gear over and keep us stateside for reasons.

              1. Ah so you misded the Beach Party.

Id talked with an Army Sgt who told about the Geiger counter going off for " no reason..." meaning " where they didnt expect it to."

Insane was good at hiding stuff.

    3. >>So she got a bullshit religious exemption because the Biden administration wouldn't allow a legitimate possible life or death medical exemption.

      defines "it's a sham."

    4. Good 4 U

      A Real Thinker.

    5. "...So she got a bullshit religious exemption because the Biden administration wouldn't allow a legitimate possible life or death medical exemption..."

Sumbitch trying to kill your wife, the asshole.

      1. But if it saves one elderly person's life it was all worth it, killing a productive mother of three.

    6. I'm sure Joe Biden personally reviews the medical exemptions allowed. It sounds like her docs f..ked up or are chickes..t, because the law is not specific about "2 reasons for a medical exemption". It allows for medical exemptions for "allergic reactions" to the vaccines, which swelling which could be life threatening would surely qualify for.

      1. "I'm sure Joe Biden personally reviews the medical exemptions allowed."

Who is in charge of the military? Biden is the answer. Every single policy enacted and thrust upon the troops is, ultimately, the fault of the Commander in Chief.

  9. "We should all be concerned about omicron, but not panicked. If you're not fully vaccinated you are right to be concerned," he correctly stated without any real context or knowledge of any particular facts.

  12. Biden yelling about parents having to suck dick to buy insulin because Manchin killed his Build Back Bolshevik bill was pretty hilarious.

    1. "Government needs to spend a lot more money to drive prices down."

I about threw up when I heard that.

      1. It's total fucking denial by him and his handlers. The only thing that's going to bring prices down, other than a no-shit organic recession, should have been done ten fucking years ago--gradually increase interest rates to keep the leverage tamped down.

The Fed has been handing out these ZIRP loans like candy for over a decade, suppressed mortgage loan interest rates, we get multi-trillion-dollar "stimulus" bills and a monthly child tax credit deposit that's going to fuck up our tax return next year, and what do we have to show for it? The worst inflation level since Reagan's first term and something like the third fucking housing bubble in 25 years that's making just about everywhere unaffordable for most people to live, not just a few pockets like in Miami, Silicon Valley, and Las Vegas.

        1. Don't worry, when all that shit happens there will be some idiot politician saying all we need to do is spend MORE trillions.......

          1. Already has been said that debt is just numbers on a computer, and we can not pay. Want to say AOC or one of her cohort of twits.

      2. " Welfares good for the economy."

        Nutsy Pelosi

This shits how Nazi germany started

  13. "Biden acknowledged that the new omicron variant of the coronavirus sweeping through the country is extremely contagious and likely to cause a lot of breakthrough infections among folks who are vaccinated. However, he did emphasize that evidence indicates that vaccinated people who do experience breakthrough infections are much less likely to become severely ill or die."

I haven't seen this evidence. Will someone please link it for me?

What I have read is this evidence:

"The study finds no evidence of Omicron having lower severity than Delta, judged by either the proportion of people testing positive who report symptoms, or by the proportion of cases seeking hospital care after infection."

----Imperial College London, December 17, 2021

    https://www.imperial.ac.uk/news/232698/modelling-suggests-rapid-spread-omicron-england/

They say that about a study that showed our current vaccines have an effectiveness rate of between 0% and 20%. Why should we believe that the hospitalization rate is better because we're vaccinated if the vaccine is almost completely useless in preventing infection? We need answers to these questions.

    1. P.S. Now would be a good time to fire Dr. Fauci. His job is to be a trusted voice for science to the American people, and he's completely lost his credibility with at least half of us. Fairly or unfairly, if the American people won't take his word for anything anymore, then he has no business holding a position as the trusted voice of science on vaccines. Maybe Biden should hire Harvey Weinstein nest to lecture us about the evils of sexual harassment.

      1. You're not half the population Ken. Half of the GOP maybe.

      2. Fauci has made his mistakes, but this is understandable given the changing nature of the virus, now considered one of the most contagious to have ever appeared on earth, and the pertinent science. Neverthless, I believe he is an honest public servant and notable scientist (among other things, having graduated first in his class from Cornell medical school). I would certainly accept his advice over that dispensed by the crackpot fringe.

        1. I believe you molest children

    2. And that's assuming anything coming out of these institutions is remotely trustworthy at this point.

      1. If they were lying, it would be about how the vaccines are extremely effective, right?

"Depending on the estimates used for vaccine effectiveness against symptomatic infection from the Delta variant, this translates into vaccine effectiveness estimates against symptomatic Omicron infection of between 0% and 20% after two doses"

----Imperial College London, December 17, 2021

        https://www.imperial.ac.uk/news/232698/modelling-suggests-rapid-spread-omicron-england/

That certainly seems to be consistent with what we've seen in the NFL, where 96% of the players are vaccinated and they're all tested regularly.

        1. Once again, you somehow left out the part of the citation that undermines your point:

"...vaccine effectiveness estimates against symptomatic Omicron infection of between 0% and 20% after two doses, and between 55% and 80% after a booster dose."

          1. They said the original vaccine was 90% effective. Then 4 months later whoops. Now you want to trust them on the booster data that is less than 4 months old? Lol.

            1. Obviously they are lying, but that is the thrust of their argument: You need the booster to stop the Omi.

            2. If you need a booster dose every 6 months, it's not an effective vaccine.

              1. I would still take it rather than get sick. To each his own.

          2. My point was that vaccination status is no longer associated with the ability of someone to contract or transmit the disease, with the omicron variant, and I haven't seen anything yet to confirm that hospitalization rates are impacted differently.

I being boosted now the new vaccination status? Does one need to be boosted in order to benefit from a lower hospitalization rate? Does being boosted confer any benefit in the hospitalization rate at all--or is it just like not being vaccinated when it comes to omicron?

I don't see any answers to these questions--although I'm seeing a lot of assumptions, and I think Biden made one. It is true that being vaccinated means you're much less likely to be hospitalized by the original virus or the delta variant.

I haven't seen any indication that this is true for the omicron variant, and I know that vaccine makers add new strains to their seasonal flu vaccines every year because vaccines that work with one strain may not work as well with another.

If you have an authoritative source with data that shows being vaccinated or being boosted confers a lower hospitalization rate specifically in regards to omicron, I'll thank you for sharing the link. I don't see any good reason to make an assumption either way.

            1. Does one need to be boosted in order to benefit from a lower hospitalization rate?
              ------------
That's exactly what they are saying.

              1. South Africa and Britain are reporting a lower omicron hospitalization rate regardless of status.

              2. What kind of protection from hospitalization are we talking about?

In my comment below, I made a point about how if we learned that a seasonal flu vaccine only offered 0% to 20% protection against infection, we probably wouldn't assume that it offered much protection against hospitalization.

"The study finds no evidence of Omicron having lower severity than Delta, judged by either the proportion of people testing positive who report symptoms, or by the proportion of cases seeking hospital care after infection."

That doesn't seem to say anything about the hospitalization rate of the vaccinated people--who only had 0% to 20% protection from infection because they were vaccinated twice, and it doesn't say anything about the hospitalization rate of the people who were less likely to be infected because they were boosted--but were infected anyway. I want to know what the hospitalization rate is, and I sure hope it turns out that hospitalization rate of the vaccinated is much better than their chances of contracting the virus.

            2. Ken, Moderna announced their tests show their booster is effective against omicron.

              Do the math.

              1. Because of course those darling pharma executives only have the best interests of the world at heart and would NEVER release a leaky therapy with wild promises of it's efficacy that never panned out. We can take them at their word, because Moderna has such a stellar safety and transparency record, amirite?

"Do the math." Really, you just don't think at all before posting, do you?

                1. Joe’s mom trusted pharma when they pushed thalidomide while she was pregnant with him. She gave it a seal of approval.

                  1. A sealion of approval.

              2. I'll do the math. Can you get me the raw data?

              3. "Moderna announced"

Well, then the answer is there.

Who needs an independent study? We have the word of Moderna. Good enough for me. I mean, sure, they have zero liability from issues with the vaccine. It's pure profit for them.

      2. It is not, and that is very dangerous. I see it every day: people have more contempt for the law, and those who promulgate it. That is a baaaad sign.

        1. I get where Ken's coming from on this, but with the way governments and our elites have been acting like such speds since this all kicked off, it's a lot easier to just assume that there's some ulterior motive behind whatever study gets pushed out, and push it to the background as noise.

So far, in close to two years, I've known of three people in my extended circles who caught the coof--two coworkers, and my best friend's sister. One died (no jabs), one almost died ("fully jabbed"), and one was hospitalized (jab status unknown). Obviously, plenty of people have caught it, but the numbers have clearly been cooked more than one of Trump's steak dinners, especially the death figures, and I wouldn't trust some Chinese-made PCR test for accuracy as if my life depended on it.

What we're seeing from our elites the last year and a half is a bunch of desperate flailing to prove they can beat evolution, and intense consternation that evolution will kick their ass every time. Their complete lack of humility is going to end up being their downfall in the end.

          1. The government was wrong about a lot of things.

They were wrong to say that the pandemic couldn't possibly have originated from a lab in Wuhan, and they were wrong to say that vaccines couldn't possibly be available in less than a year.

I'm explaining to some elderly people I care about who are concerned about traveling for the holidays that while the CDC website is correct to say that wearing a mask offers some evidence of protection, that is different from saying that you won't contract omicron at an international airport or sitting in a plane for six hours--just because you're wearing a mask. Wearing a motorcycle helmet will offer you some level of protection when you're in an accident, but it would be incorrect to say that you won't get hurt in a motorcycle accident if you're wearing a helmet. If some quack were making the same claims as the CDC about wearing masks, the government would probably step in and charge them with fraud.

The government has been wrong about so many things, and it's unreasonable to expect people to take the government's word for anything right now. That's why I'm pointing people to the data, and that's why I'm asking for data. From what I can tell, the correct answer to the question of whether the vaccines we have now make it less likely you'll be hospitalized if you contract the omicron variant is, "We don't know".

I'm simply maintaining that vaccine mandates only makes sense--even from a progressive standpoint--if they prevent the ICUs from being overwhelmed, and we still don't know whether they do that. Biden said we're less likely to be hospitalized if we're vaccinated, but we don't know whether that's true for the omicron variant--far as I can tell. I certainly hope it is true, but I don't see any data that confirms that's the case--specifically for the omicron variant.

Maybe think of it this way: If a season flu vaccine were only 0% to 20% effective in preventing a strain of the flu, we probably wouldn't assume it offered much protection against hospitalization.

            1. "I'm simply maintaining that vaccine mandates only makes sense--even from a progressive standpoint--if they prevent the ICUs from being overwhelmed"

They HAVENT over 3 calendar years.

When will you get off your BS pontificating and get a clue?

              1. The suggestion that ICUs were never near or over capacity in certain areas or anywhere is factually incorrect.

"Dozens of Texas hospitals have run out of intensive care unit beds as COVID-19 surges faster than any other time during the pandemic, propelled by the new delta variant."

                https://www.texastribune.org/2021/08/10/coronavirus-texas-hospitals-icu-beds/

There were numerous places where the local ICUs were overwhelmed with covid cases over the last couple of years--which is why Abbott and other Republican states issued local lockdowns at various times. There were progressive governors that issued state wide lockdowns without ICUs being near capacity, too.

If you're striving to become the kind of idiot that ignores facts because you don't like their implications, go be a progressive. They're really good at that. Libertarians don't need to be willfully stupid or ignore the facts to make our arguments.

The fact is that local officials will issue lockdown orders IF IF IF and when the local ICUs reach capacity--just like they have for the past two years--whether you believe it or not. There isn't a fact in the world that will ever stop being true because you progressives don't like it.

          2. No Red, there isn't, you raging paranoiac. Your imagines conspiracy requires tens of thousands of conspirators around the world. Seek help.

            1. Shush, white boy.

            2. Mirror, mirror, on the wall... Will Joe ever catch any clue at all?

            3. Just following orders.

            4. Really? You don't think a pharmaceutical company would push studies that promote their own products?

              1. "Corporations are evil, unless they tell me what I want to hear."

          3. "speds"

Havent heard that term in forever!

            Appropos!

          4. I understand that many folks on the right do not believe in evolution. Is that true?

            1. No. Progressives, especially leftists, like to say the word "evolution" then continuously demonstrate their ignorance of process, and attempt to fight it at every turn.
Because, deep down in your subconscious where you fear to tread, you know you're an evolutionary failure.

            2. All these doctors coping with the fact that their magic coof juice doesn't stop COVID infections don't seem to be right-wingers.

    3. While this is only observational, I have a couple of older relatives in poor health that developed breakthrough infections. They survived, no hospitalizations, just bed rest. I don't think they would have survived without the vaccinations, just too many other problems. So, I am a believer.

I really think that if we could get greater a vaccination rate we would be done with this thing. The fact is that vaccinated people can handle this infection, even the old and sick, and it would just be a cold. The reason we are all testing, isolating and masking is to protect those who will rolls up their sleeves for a vaccination. I know a lots of people, losing their patience with the unvaccinated. I would too but I think of the hospital staff that get stuck with these people and that where my sympathy lays.

      1. The hospitalization and death rates are the only numbers we should really care about, and it seems to me that these are still open questions when it comes to omicron.

        1. Deaths. 800K / 355,000,000

          0.002%

          Meh.

          Bidens an Assweasel

          1. Uh, not quite. That's .002 or 0.2%.

        2. Open questions, sure. The NHS data are very early in the Omicron era, so the Imperial College study (which is a model based on preliminary data) is not going to be definitive. Thus the phrase "there is no evidence" as the study cannot conclude that it is more mild from current data.

It's going to be a more complete story... well, with how fast it's edging out Delta early next year. Two weeks after the majority of people getting 'rona worldwide get it we'll see who is in the hospital.

That said, effectiveness of a vaccine against catching something is not the same as against severe disease. And Omicron has a trick where it replicates SUPER fast as soon as it takes hold. What happens there is likely how they got to the 0-20% effectiveness estimates, it can spool up way faster than the immune response from a related but not matching vaccine or pathogen.

One thing to not from those startling numbers, though, is that was just for 2 dose vaccinations. The second half of that sentence is interesting too:

Depending on the estimates used for vaccine effectiveness against symptomatic infection from the Delta variant, this translates into vaccine effectiveness estimates against symptomatic Omicron infection of between 0% and 20% after two doses, and between 55% and 80% after a booster dose. Similar estimates were obtained using genotype data, albeit with greater uncertainty. emphasis added

I am guessing FJB was trying to be a calming influence using anecdotal data from South African doctors as his "It might be mild" source. It's moot, though, his vaccine-mandates-and-nothing-else strategy has alienated too many people who no longer trust him at all. He can't unring that bell.

I know my fingers are crossed it's milder here, especially after reinfections. Because all that matters is whether hospitals are overwhelmed, if some people get a mild case so be it, even if they are reinfected. Bummer, but whatever. I won't hope too hard until mid January when we have a world's worth of actual data (not models) to judge by . Could be mild, could be worse.

          1. "I know my fingers are crossed it's milder here, especially after reinfections. Because all that matters is whether hospitals are overwhelmed, if some people get a mild case so be it, even if they are reinfected. Bummer, but whatever. I won't hope too hard until mid January when we have a world's worth of actual data (not models) to judge by . Could be mild, could be worse.

            Exactly.

And the only legitimately possible excuse for lockdowns is ICU utilization going through the roof--and even then, it should only be localized. Because Fresno is running out of ventilator beds is no excuse for locking down San Diego county.

            This website is helpful:

            https://protect-public.hhs.gov/pages/hospital-utilization

ICU Bed Utilization by State is where to look. If you click on State/Territory, you can see the percentage of ICU beds occupied by state as well as what percentage are filled with covid patients. In some states, over 20% of the ICU beds are covid patients, and the ICU occupancy rate is up near 80%. In Alabama, about 2% of the beds are covid patients, and they're still at a relatively high occupancy rate--because they don't have much capacity to begin with.

As people travel around the country over the next week, we'll probably see a big surge of cases, and everyone who lives in a state without a high ICU occupancy rate should scream bloody murder if their governor locks the state down Apart from overflowing ICUs, progressives have no legitimate reason to lock down again.

            1. ICU utilization is useless, because it’s not a free market. If it were, there would be far more beds available because ICU beds are more profitable.

As such, ICUs are nearly always at capacity, even without an epidemic.

              1. ICU bed availability ultimately drives policy makers' thinking on lockdowns--regardless of whether it should. While it's true that progressives are often eager to lock the economy down regardless of the utilization rate at the local hospital, even the ones that are reluctant to lock down (like in Utah in Texas) have and will lockdown if and when the local ICUs fill up--regardless of whether it's smart or you think they should.

That's what they've done over the past two years, and there is no good reason to think they won't continue to do so in the future. In fact, because the local ICU is overwhelmed with Covid patients is the ONLY legitimate reason why a policy maker might decide to lock down the local economy--and that is why the effectiveness of the vaccines in preventing hospitalization is by far the most important metric.

Do you have any idea how many things politicians do in spite of being expensive, unjustified, unconstitutional and stupid?

      2. So like the vast majority of the elderly.

      3. When have the jabs ever stopped transmission?

If they do nothing, how is it solely the unjabbed to blame when the jabbed also can infect you?

Isn't it rather a matter of choosing to take a prophylactic therapy to reduce the severity or not, with absolutely no impact on your fellow man from this decision?

    4. Here's the full quote, including the extremely important last sentence that you somehow forgot to include:

"The study finds no evidence of Omicron having lower severity than Delta, judged by either the proportion of people testing positive who report symptoms, or by the proportion of cases seeking hospital care after infection. However, hospitalisation data remains very limited at this time."

What that last sentence means is that there isn't enough data to draw a conclusion yet.

      1. That's correct.

      2. no dats to decide but theyll decide anyway.

The Sky is Falling is default choice.

Im in TN. No one here cares...

    5. Any mention of Paxlovid in the speech? You know, the pill that has had a 100% success rate in preventing COVID deaths in high-risk patients?

      1. That wont do...not enough corporate profits.

        Chinese masks
        syringes and needles
        alcohol wipes
        labor costs
        ......

        $50 a pop and its " free"?

        Pill? $2.95 in the mail.

        Bidens a
        Big
        Blowhard.

        And an Assweasel..

    6. Here's some Texas State Department of Health Data indicating:

      CFR[unvaccinated] = 1.87%
      CFR[vaccinated(total)] = 1.79%
      CFR[vaccinated(boosters)] = 4.75%

Or is that not the data you're looking for?

      1. It's interesting to note that for all the cries of "Cytokine Storm!", the number of people who have lined up to shout "We need to juice the immune system!"

        1. No such thing as cytokine storms, that's crazy wrongthink and unscience talk.

Saint Fauci says the jabs are perfect.

      2. Maybe Jfree would support banning vaccinated from ICUs.

        1. I support banning JFree from ICUs.

          1. Really? I strongly support his admission and want to help.

        1. Perhaps hospitals could mail in the data.

      3. Just to be clear, I'm looking for data specific to the omicron variant.

        1. YOU DIDN'T HIGHLIGHT THAT!!!

          1. Biden is pushing for vaccine mandates, when the only data I can find says that the vaccines we have are less than 20% effective against preventing omicron infections without boosters.

Biden is fighting in the courts for vaccine mandates when there doesn't appear to be any data showing that the vaccines we currently have are, in fact, effective at preventing hospitalization due to infection from the omicron variant.

Meanwhile, I'm reading that the omicron variant makes up more than 70% of all new infections.

Vaccines less than 20% effective at stopping spread of omicron without boosters?

            Check.

Can the vaccines we already have help prevent ICUs from being overrun by omicron infections?

            No one knows.

70% of new infections are omicron variant?

            Check.

Joe Biden: We need a vaccine mandate?!

Ken Shultz: We need new and better vaccines.

            1. Still pushing the infection lie
              ..

Contracting the virus is NOT INFECTION.

              Infection is axresult.

Your deceptive overgeneralization pretends anyone that contacts it is infected

              Gaslighting

              1. When you contract a cold, it was because you were infected with the pathogen in question.

What part of English do you disagree with here?

      4. That data is pretty conclusive that the vaccines reduce infections and deaths by double digits.

        1. For the omicron variant? That's great news! Where's the link? I need to see the data.

"Biden acknowledged that the new omicron variant of the coronavirus sweeping through the country is extremely contagious and likely to cause a lot of breakthrough infections among folks who are vaccinated. However, he did emphasize that evidence indicates that vaccinated people who do experience breakthrough infections are much less likely to become severely ill or die.

Nothing has ever been true because Joe Biden says so. I can find plenty of evidence that being vaccinated has meant a lower hospitalization rate and a lower death rate--over the past two years--breakthrough infections included.

I don't see any evidence this is true for omicron specifically. I'd ask where Biden is getting his information on the effectiveness of the vaccines we currently have against omicron, but if you look at his statement closely, you'll notice that Biden isn't making any claims about the effectiveness of the current vaccines against omicron specifically. He's making a blanket statement about breakthrough infections.

We don't yet have data about the hospitalization rate of vaccinated omicron patients. All we have is data showing that our current vaccines are 0% to 20% effective against omicron--without boosters. If you want to assume our current vaccines are 70% effective against hospitalization despite being only 20% effective against infection, that's your right. I like to assume that people put birthday cakes in the break room refrigerator first thing in the morning because they want me to try a slice before the party to make sure it's delicious.

        2. Assuming asymptomatic COVID isn't a thing, sure.

    7. “I haven't seen this evidence. Will someone please link it for me?”

Read Bailey’s article today. (I think you probably have by now.) The reliability of the study that said that is kinda iffy.

    8. “our current vaccines have an effectiveness rate of between 0% and 20%”

For omicron. Why have you left that but off every time you have repeated this today?

      1. Given that omicron is the dominant strain, it seems fairly relevant.

  14. The FDA should be working around the clock to grant EUA for both Paxlovid and Lagevrio.

Current monoclonal antibody treatment is not as effective against omicron.

A booster of current mRNA vaccines only protects against symptomatic disease at around 70-75%, which drops to 35-40% after only two months post booster.

There isn't enough time to perform EUA review for a omicron specific booster.

The antiviral drugs are the only realistic possibly for treatment in the first quarter of 2022, for both breakthrough cases in the vaccinated and for the unvaccinated.

    1. You are assuming they give a shit about this "pandemic" ending. They don't. They want it to continue.

    2. Meet the commenter on this very thread insinuating that emergency authorization is a corporate scam:

      https://reason.com/2021/12/21/biden-says-the-u-s-is-not-going-back-into-lockdown-over-omicron/?comments=true#comment-9269199

      1. You've attacked every study on every generic dumbass. Youre the last one talk.

        1. He’s Ronald Bailey.

          1. That would explain so much.

            1. Or honestly would.

  15. Hospitals are better prepared than ever, so we need to call in the military to help?

    LOGIC.

    1. But not Trump military. They could go sit in their empty field hospitals and ships while Cuomo stacks grannies higher.

  16. "Biden Says the U.S. Is Not Going Back Into Lockdown Over Omicron"

Does anyone else remember when Trump not having a national lockdown plan was evidence of horrific ineptitude?

      1. I dont read the Phags site.

    1. He had a plan Ken. He'd lie and hope it went away. Listen to him talking to Bob Woodward about it.

      https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/09/politics/bob-woodward-rage-book-trump-coronavirus/index.html

      1. Sounds like Biden's plan for Afghanistan.

      2. Woodward, the fabulist all democrats love.

        1. Jesse, it's a recording of Trump speaking you idiot.

  17. "We should all be concerned about omicron, but not panicked.

Panic was the Dems effort to convert a medical response into an economic catastrophe to deny Trump his winning election hook: a strong economy with great unemployment numbers. Naturally now that Biden is in charge panic is the enemy instead of an ally.

Visibly confused, he stated, "Look, the progressives are responsible for their own choices, but those choices have been fueled by dangerous misinformation on cable TV and social media."

    1. What cable TV isn't dangerous. Not having ever watched cable TV except in the airport, what is he talking about?

      1. Fox News, One America Network

        1. Remember. Mikey isn't a leftist.

    2. I get visibly enraged listening to this shit. Dems have gone headfirst off the deep end.

      2. if you keep sucking Biden long enough he will give you a Cleveland Steamer.

    2. Biden: worse than Omicron.

      1. You’re saying Biden is both highly infectious and weak?

        1. And he originated in a Chinese research lab.

          1. That’s a horror movie I would see.

        2. he has a great Grope

  20. I like what Colorado's governor has said recently. He's done with any restrictions or regulations, and says just get your triple vaccination or take your risks. Sounds a little bit libertarian to me.

I will say though, for a "libertarian" website most of the commenters here are pretty much One America News ultra f##king right wing nutbags. A good number of you sound like you never mentally matured past 12 years of age either.

    1. I like what Colorado's governor has said recently. He's done with any restrictions or regulations, and says just get your triple vaccination or take your risks. Sounds a little bit libertarian to me.

That's because Polis knows any mandate he puts out now is going to be unenforceable outside the Front Range, the ski resorts, and a few isolated pockets in the state like Pueblo and the college towns. Everywhere else is going to laugh and go about their business, and he's not going to waste money or time fighting with people just to appease the bitch-made Denver media.

I will say though, for a "libertarian" website most of the commenters here are pretty much One America News ultra f##king right wing nutbags. A good number of you sound like you never mentally matured past 12 years of age either.

Stop being a pussy and type out "fucking". You're not going to go up in flames for it.

    2. No one cares what you think of them, deelion.

    3. Piss off, Assweasel.

    4. I will say though, for a "libertarian" website most of the commenters here are pretty much One America News ultra f##king right wing nutbags.

Hey, you can't just waltz in here and insult the nutbags in here. That is for a long time poster like me to do.

      1. And complete denial of inflation, authoritarian actions, denial of Biden and democrats doing a terrible job, etc.

      2. You can't post kiddie porn, either, as you found out a few months ago.

      3. turd lies; it’s all he ever does. turd is a TDS-addled piece of lefty shit and pathological liar, entirely too stupid to remember which lies he posted even minutes ago, and also too stupid to understand we all know he’s a liar.
If anything he posts isn’t a lie, it’s totally accidental.
turd lies; it’s what he does. turd is a lying pile of lefty shit.

    5. Most of the commenters here are 50 centers and trolls. It's their job to make it look that way.

    6. Lol. What the actual fuck is your 2nd paragraph Love how you lovers attack the people against mandates as anti mandate nut bags. Not enough bidenol love for you sweetie?

      1. You losers*

    7. You are welcome.

  21. I am happy to see the support for hospitals. It is unlikely that we will get all people to herd immunity through vaccination. Just too much resistance. So, we are going to have to slug through to herd immunity the natural way. This means lots of stress on hospitals. Hopefully we can support the hospitals and staff until we are through this.

    1. During the initial wave of infections Trump opened up military CSH and hospital ships to deal with hospital overflow and they weren't utilized. We spent 100s millions of taxpayer dollars on using military resources to back up civilian hospitals and they weren't utilized.

      1. I don't think the answer is physical resources likes hospital ships, its people. They can only work so hard, so long. If trained military people can back up hospital staff, it will help.

I have never been in the military, but I was looking at some of my father's papers from WWII. I noticed that there were rest camps for the soldiers and the military routinely rotated people in and out of active duty. To keep them fresh. It seems like we may need to do the same for hospital staff.

BTW - I noticed in the above comment that your wife is a health care worker. Is she dealing with Covid19 patients and if so, is she feeling any stress?

        1. I have never been in the military, but I was looking at some of my father's papers from WWII. I noticed that there were rest camps for the soldiers and the military routinely rotated people in and out of active duty. To keep them fresh. It seems like we may need to do the same for hospital staff.

Well, that might have been possible, but hospitals laid off a bunch of workers in 2020 when they stopped doing elective procedures, and then laid off a bunch more over coof shots. These places cut their own throat and now they have to pay through the nose for traveling nurses to act as stop-gaps.

          1. One bed per room is behind this...

Profit motive. Theyve halved hospital capacity and are bitching about it.

            Low grade Assweasels.

        2. I don't think the answer is physical resources likes hospital ships, its people.
          -------
Well maybe we shouldn't have fired all those nurses and doctors with the idiotic vaxx mandate?

          1. false. its EXACTLY separate facilities to ISOLATE the virulent.

Unless you WANT to spread it...

Only an idiot puts spreaders in a hospital. Impossible to keep it out of the HVAC system.

        3. I was unaware hospital ships had no staff.

          1. I LOled

        4. You were never in the military... And it shows. Who the fuck do you think crews hospital ships dipshit?
BTW I did serve in the military, 10 years as a medic and nurse in a CSH. Most CSH and most medical in the Army are in the reserves, and guess what they are civilian hospital staff when Uncle Sam isn't employing them.

          1. My comment on the military was regarding the idea that you can't keep people on the front lines forever. We need to spell people and that is what I hope some of the military personal can do for hospital staff.

        5. The only stress she feels is from all the idiotic regulations that hinder her job because of people freaking out about COVID. And almost every nurse and doctor she works with agrees. The freaking out is what makes their job stressful, stupid mandates that leave them short-staffed, regulations that take up time they could be using to care for patients, etc. The virus itself isn't stressing them at all.

          1. And I spent 17 years in medicine in both civilian and military roles. Fuckers like you freaking out about it are almost always worse than the fucking virus. We saw it with swine flu, birdflu, MRSA and anything else the media blows out of proportion. It makes our jobs harder, while doing nothing to actually benefit patient care.

            1. + 10000000000000000 ^

            2. I worked in medicine at the start of AIDS. That when you started worrying about cuts and needle sticks. There was plenty in the media then, but nobody complained because right winger figured the AIDS patients deserved what happened. So, I think the complaints like yours about the news media are pretty new stuff.

By the way I am vaccinated and not worried about Covid19. I am worried about hospital staff that are overworked.

          2. Who's "she"? I am personal friends with 3 docs entirely stressed out from covid because they don't work in a plastic surgery practice. One is the head of a big hospital ER. His wife is the head of infectious disease there, and the other works the ICU until recently inundated with covid patients from the delta variant. They are burned out and the stories of grief, even from those who live through it, are hard to listen to, and they are exhausted.

        6. "I don't think the answer is physical resources likes hospital ships, its people. They can only work so hard, so long. If trained military people can back up hospital staff, it will help."

Maybe firing nurses for not doing what the Left likes was a poor idea...

    2. "I am happy to see the support for hospitals."

Unless employees don't do what the Left wants. Then fuck those people, amirite?

  22. "You know, these companies and personalities are making money by peddling lies and allowing misinformation that can kill their own customers and their own supporters." That, Biden declared, is "wrong, it's immoral! I call on the purveyors of these lies and misinformation, stop it. Stop it now."

Interestingly a year ago Biden, Harris, and other Dem politicians were peddling lies and misinformation by telling people the vaccine couldn't be trusted. That of course was fine when it benefitted Dems. Now it's immoral.

    These people are slime.

    1. Immoral is a Catglholic President doing anything possible to aid abortion..

If the Papacy werent in it for power, theyd dis this Assweasel.

    2. Worse, they did it in a coordinated effort, not out of an ideologically principled stance, but wrought of a pure political calculus, that the more chaos, fear and doubt they could sow, the better it would be for them come election time.

And of course "they" extends far beyond the politicians... Who might be forgiven for taking a unified dishonest stand in the name of politics... and reaches the media and tech companies who labeled true rebuttles of this nonsense as "misinformation" and blocked it.

Not only did they uniformly call Trump a liar for accurately reporting the progress on the vaccine, they blocked anyone else from saying that the vaccine would be ready by the end of 2020.

And yet we have paid shills and mentally defective true believers on here pretending that none of that happened.

      1. This will cause a problem for Hitlery Clinton in 2024. Theyre grooming the old horse to run as shes not as lame as Biteme.

Theyll have message problems trying to explain the incompetence of Biden and trying to convert that to OMB.

      2. The efforts and lengths were incredible, and the end result is only that I will never vote for a Dem for any position.

They could run Superman for VP and all I would feel is sadness Clark caught TDS as I vote for anyone else.

  23. This time he would own the lockdown politically instead of being able to somehow blame Trump.

This is further proof that lockdowns were political and not about health at all.

  24. Who can believe anything Joey and his Lysenko say? I sure don't. Believe people have just had enough of this bullshit. Remember in November.

  25. For you Peanuts that missed it in the morning links:

U.S. financial markets are outperforming the world by the biggest margin in the 21st century, and with good reason: America’s economy improved more in Joe Biden's first 12 months than any president during the past 50 years notwithstanding the contrary media narrative contributing to dour public opinion.

Exceptional returns from dollar-denominated assets, especially the S&P 500 Index in both absolute terms and relative to its global counterparts, can be attributed to record-low debt ratios enabling companies to reap the biggest profit margins since 1950. Corporate America is booming because the Biden administration's Covid-19 vaccination programs and $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan reduced the jobless rate to 4.2% in November from 6.2% in February, continuing an unprecedented rate of decline during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Consider that real, or inflation adjusted, gross domestic product surged at an average annual rate of 5.03% in each of the first three quarters of 2021, and is poised to expand 5.6% for the year based on the average estimate of more than 80 economists surveyed Bloomberg. If that forecast proves accurate, it would be more than 2.8 times the average between 2000 and 2019 and double the average since 1976.

All of which makes Biden's first year in the White House the standout among the seven previous presidents, based on 10 market and economic indicators given equal weight. According to data compiled by Bloomberg, no one comes close to matching Biden's combination of No. 1 and No. 2 rankings for each of the measures

    https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2021-12-20/president-biden-s-economic-performance-has-proved-unbeatable

5.6% GDP for Biden vs Trump's sorry-ass 1.6% GDP for four years.

    Not even close.

Of course dumping $6 trillion of stimulus would make any idiot look good.

    1. LOL, as if your pedo-chasing self didn't get hammered on this already.

      1. Didn't happen. As usual you fucksticks just attacked the source and then called the economic data "lies".

The Con Man taught you how to deflect and distract well.

        1. Nope. Last nights thread. You ran away from every argument pointing out your bullshit.

In this post you claim victory against Europe which also enacted lockdowns, mandates, and crippled their economy. Not a strong talking point to say youre the smartest retard on the group.

Likewise you are crowing about GDP growth under the inflation rate despite it being after a forced shut down of the economy by the government.

Still 5 million missing jobs from 2019. Weird you left that out.

But hey, the skin is growing nicely after we lopped your leg off for no reason.

        2. Didn't happen.

          LOL, totally happened.

As usual you fucksticks just attacked the source and then called the economic data "lies".

You didn't even fucking read it, you hicklib pederast.

The Con Man taught you how to deflect and distract well.

          Cope, seethe, and dilate.

  27. It is a wonderful to all the rational arguments an a site called "Reason".
    - Expressions like "Fuck ", "asswipe" and other ad-hominim attacks represent the heights of reason and rational discussion.

    1. Are you cowering from the naughty words? Do they change actual arguments. Are your ears sensitive? Need mommy? A blankie?

    2. And for shits and giggles.

After 2 years of the left lying, pandering, and being utterly devoid of independent thought or rational thought they can go fuck themselves.

    3. There is no dialog to be had with authoritarians. They decide what evil bullshit they are going to try and impose. We tell them to fuck off.

If they were adults we might actually have a reason for intellectual discourse.

    4. Yes, Assweasel...it is all about you.

    5. Go fuck yourself, asswipe.

    6. shut up, faggot.

  28. So how soon are we going into lockdown over Omicron?

    1. After Christmas. My kid's school is already easing us into it.

      1. *easing it into us*

  29. Studies have shown unvaccinated people have not suffered any vaccine side effects. Disinformation?

    1. Conspiracy theory.

  30. Christ, what an asshole.

  31. No, we will just have "non-lockdown lockdowns".

I.e. unless you complete toe the progressive party line and follow every diktat, you will not be able to leave your house or have a life or have a job.

    1. The new term will be ' detention'

      Ahem.
      FJB

    2. I don’t support the OSHA mandate. I think it is Federal government overreach.

But, practically, being forced to get vaccinated for your job falls way short of being required to follow “every diktat”.

      1. I wasn't talking about what is happening right now, I'm talking about what Biden intends to do in the future and what he means by "no new lockdowns": freedom for people who comply with his (future) diktats and draconian reprisals for everybody else.

But, yes, "being forced to get vaccinated for your job", indiscriminately, for every employee of a company with more than 100 employees is arbitrary and unjustified, and it is the essence of a totalitarian state to impose such diktats and enforce compliance.

  32. No lockdowns? We’re all gonna die!!!

    1. Yes and thats the thing the Left cant handle...

      Athiests have no end game.

      1. We're the only ones with an end game, silly.

You really want to spend infinity years playing the harp or whatever?

It's astonishing to me how religious people don't think through the implications of their need to live literally forever.

        1. We're the only ones with an end game, silly.

Yes, that's why you're terrified that climate change will kill us all, just like every other bitch-made leftist.

          1. That was great ' cuff upside the head!'

Did you carch the plural response..."we have..."

Maybe Pelosi turned him onto her plastic surgeon?

Or is it stem cells from all the babies they are slaughtering?

      1. Photoshops ' remove asshole' feature isnt that advanced yet.

  34. I just got over a breakthrough infection. Felt yucky. Chair and Netflix rest for 3 days. No fever or cough. It was nothing compared to when I got it in 2020. That was hell.

Was it mild mostly due to the variant or did my previous vaccinations help? The truth is hard to come by these days.

    1. I came down with what seems to be omicron a couple of days ago. It has been mild and I’m recovering quickly.

All the articles I’ve seen say things like “we should be cautious because it might not be as mild as it seems.” But I haven’t seen any actual news or studies indicating that it is anything but mild.

      1. Science follower Mike is self diagnosing himself to virtue signaling.

    2. Since the vaccine isnt permanent Id assume it didnt help.

      19 boosters screams " failure!"

  35. Omnicron is what ends this. It is raging through the country giving everyone immunity at the cost of mild symptoms. If Biden wasn't a senile pervert he would understand that. You really can't overstate how stupid these people are.

    1. It has to.

Omicron is the last letter in the Greek alphabet

      Its been planned that way.

  36. Thank you Joe! My wife is ready to disinvite my brother and his family and strongly discourage her parents from joining us for Christmas because of omicron (all are fully vaxxed and boosted), but now you sez it’s safe and she voted for you, so of course she will listen because you only speak the truth and follow the SCIENCE.

    1. The whole of Liberalism is " someone else said."

Awfully thin ice to walk on, especially when listening to psychopaths and pathological liars like Fauci.

    2. His agendas bit the dust. The vax companies now admit the dangers in their vaccines.

Legal liability questions have surfaced in the media.

Its all coming apart and President Assweasels pretending to occupy moral high ground.

      Fuck Joe Biden

  39. "He added: "You know, these companies and personalities are making money by peddling lies and allowing misinformation that can kill their own customers and their own supporters." That, Biden declared, is "wrong, it's immoral"

Says an Assweasel that is DESPERATE to do anything he can to kill unborn babies!

    Yes, President Assweasel.

    Hitler wasnt that mentally ill.

    Lets Go Brandon!!

  40. It is up to the governors. Remember all the Democratic governors screaming Federalism under Trump?
