The White House Says More Government Spending Will Fix Inflation
Plus: Administrative bloat conquers Yale, the U.N. Climate Change Conference in Glasgow wraps up, and more...

As American workers grapple with soaring inflation—the consumer price index rose 6.2 percent since last October, the largest single-year increase in 30 years—the Biden administration has a plan: spend lots of money.
President Joe Biden said this week that the government spending authorized by the "Build Back Better" agenda will make goods affordable again by subsidizing Americans' costs and making workers more productive.
A New York Times piece that attempts to defend the administration's contentions does concede, however, that a result of all this spending could be a temporary increase in inflation:
A wide range of economists agree with the president — but only in part. They generally accept his argument that in the long run, the bill and his infrastructure plan could make businesses and their workers more productive, which would help to ease inflation as more goods and services are produced across the economy.
But many researchers, including a forecasting firm that Mr. Biden often cites to support the economic benefits of his proposals, say the bill is structured in a way that could add to inflation next year, before prices have had time to cool off.
Some economists and lawmakers worry about the timing, arguing that the risk of fueling more inflation when it has reached record highs outweighs the potential benefits of passing a big spending bill that could help to keep prices in check while addressing other social goals. Prices have picked up by 6.2 percent over the past year, the fastest pace in 31 years and far above the Federal Reserve's inflation target.
Former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, who was also the director of the National Economic Council during the Obama administration, criticized Biden this week for not taking inflation seriously. According to the New York Post:
"I think we're speeding down the road at a really rapid rate," Summers told CNN's "Cuomo Prime Time" Wednesday. "It's kind of a downhill road. And it's not going to be so easy to put the brakes on here. And that's why I'm concerned."
Summers spoke on the same day that the Labor Department announced that its Consumer Price Index, which measures the cost of a basket of goods and services as well as energy and food, had jumped 6.2 percent in October from a year earlier — the biggest 12-month rise since 1990.
"I think that the policymakers in Washington, unfortunately, have almost every month been behind the curve," Summers said Wednesday. "They said it was transitory; it doesn't look so transitory. They said it was due to a few specific factors; doesn't look to be a few specific factors. They said when September came and people went back to school, that the labor force would grow, and it didn't happen."
Sen. Joe Manchin (D–W.Va.), who will cast the deciding vote on any significant piece of spending legislation, is known for being deeply concerned about inflation, and may kill or delay the "Build Back Better" agenda to prevent it from getting worse.

Administrative bloat in higher education has gotten so bad over the last three decades that many universities now employ more administrators than professors. But the problem at Yale University is even more serious than that: Yale has more administrators than undergraduate students. According to the Yale Daily News:
Over the last two decades, the number of managerial and professional staff that Yale employs has risen three times faster than the undergraduate student body, according to University financial reports. The group's 44.7 percent expansion since 2003 has had detrimental effects on faculty, students and tuition, according to eight faculty members.
In 2003, when 5,307 undergraduate students studied on campus, the University employed 3,500 administrators and managers. In 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic's effects on student enrollment, only 600 more students were living and studying at Yale, yet the number of administrators had risen by more than 1,500 — a nearly 45 percent hike. In 2018, The Chronicle of Higher Education found that Yale had the highest manager-to-student ratio of any Ivy League university, and the fifth highest in the nation among four-year private colleges.
A roughly one-to-one undergraduate-to-administrator ratio has negative implications for freedom of expression and due process on campus, since the chief role of much administrative staff is to micromanage campus life. The more vice presidents of student services, diversity, and inclusion, the more investigations, seminars, and events aimed at suppressing students' and professors' rights.

The United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow is wrapping up, and it's not clear if participating countries reached anything approaching a sweeping deal. According to The New York Times:
As international climate change talks in Glasgow hurtled toward the closing hours, a new draft agreement released on Friday morning called for a doubling of money to help developing countries cope with climate impacts, and called on nations to strengthen their emissions-cutting targets by next year.
But much of the text in the draft — intended to push negotiators toward a deal that all nations can agree on — remained contentious for many countries. Disputes remain over money, the speed of emissions cuts and indeed whether an agreement should even mention "fossil fuels" — the principal cause of climate change, but a term that has never before appeared in a global climate agreement.
The differences, after nearly two weeks of negotiations, signaled that it would be difficult for negotiators to reach the sort of sweeping agreement that activists and scientists had urged before the start of the United Nations talks, known as COP26. Scientific consensus says that the world must slash greenhouse-gas emissions by nearly half by 2030 in order to stave off the most disastrous effects of global warming. But under countries' current targets, emissions would continue to rise.

Hey, it worked for college tuition, didn't it?
And..."They generally accept his argument that in the long run, the bill and his infrastructure plan could make businesses and their workers more productive, which would help to ease inflation as more goods and services are produced across the economy."
Yeah, apparently some economists need to go back to school, because this absolutely does not follow.

Yale has more administrators than undergraduate students.
Kind of a cause and effect situation going on here.
Huh, you'd think that would really increase the cost of education to the point where people would be complaining about a student loan crisis.

At the University of California, the staff-to-student ratio is roughly 1:1.

Gates expressed exasperation with the west in contrast to China. Gates blamed western “freedom”; China, by contrast, he said, “did a very good job of suppressing the virus,” thanks to the “typical, fairly authoritarian” approach and “individual rights that were violated.”
And to think Gates used to complain about Apple acting authoritarian.
Pfizer CEO: We're targeted by "a lot of dark organizations" and "we're getting briefings from the CIA and FBI."
This seems like a redundant statement.
It is a redundant statement.
Pfizer's CEO has also said that anti-vaxxers are criminals.
Does anyone know if those pesky CEO's have taken their own vaccine yet? Last I heard they were using this lame excuse about not wanting to deprive anyone else of a vaccine.

CONSERVATIVES ARE JUST OPENLY ENDORSING BOOK BURNING NOW
Book burning, as in the thing Nazis were into.
ver the last several years, there have been many opportunities to throw around terms like “fascist“ and “fascism,” typically in the context of the Republican Party and the wannabe dictator to whom many of its members have pledged their undying loyalty. In response, said Republicans have frequently gotten bent out of shape about such terms, insisting they’re totally uncalled for, not applicable, and say more about the hysterical people using them than they do about their targets. And yet…this sounds pretty fascist!
https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2021/11/virginia-school-board-book-burning
Turd lies; it’s all he ever does. Turd is a pathological liar, entirely too stupid to remember which lies he posted even minutes ago, and also too stupid to understand we all know he’s a liar.
If anything he posts isn’t a lie, it’s totally accidental.
Turd lies; it’s what he does.
OPENLY ENDORSING BOOK BURNING
As opposed to actually holding book burnings like you lefties? Just copycat wannabes, right Plug?
school board held 'flame purification' ceremony to remove books offensive to 'Aboriginal knowledge keepers'
Cue don’t need book burnings. We need Buttplug burnings.
Of course, no mention of the other team's similar efforts.
And yes, sexually explicit material targeted at youth will be a subject of controversy forever. I like how the original write-up doesn't bother to say anything beyond that a book in question is a "dark tale". From Wikipedia:
33 Snowfish follows the character of Custis, a 10-year-old orphan living with his "owner" Bob Motley, who sexually abuses him, in a dilapidated house in Rockdale, Illinois. After overhearing that he was to star in a snuff movie, Custis steals a small pistol and escapes through a hole in the wall. While hiding from Motley's crew and begging for quarters in a video arcade at the Joliet Mall, Custis spots Boobie (whose real name is Darrin Flowers), a strange boy with black eyes and a single painted fingernail. Custis decides to follow Boobie into Crazy Lou's Woods, a private woodland supposedly owned by an ex-military cat farmer. Custis and Boobie soon become friends.
Custis, having no home, and Boobie, who has an unstable relationship with his parents, set up a makeshift home in the woods with a tent and steal electricity from a nearby paper factory. Soon they are joined by Curl, Boobie's 14-year-old girlfriend who is addicted to drugs and supports herself as a prostitute, and finally Boobie's baby brother, whom Boobie abducts after murdering his parents. The four of them take to the road in a stolen Buick Skylark to flee the police who are searching for Boobie, engaging in dumpster diving, robbery and begging in various Chicago suburbs along the way.
Now, I'm not for burning books or banning or giving a shit about what 10 year olds' read. But a book like this will always generate controversy when it's found in a public school library.
turd lies; if turd posts it, the lying is the default assumption.
No, it really isn't.
Republicans simply want pornographic materials removed from school libraries.
The Nazis burned books that criticized their own party. You know, like modern Democrats and progressives do.
The left made a lot of progress capturing the media and education, and the proliferation of the internet, combined with freedom of speech, diminished all of those gains. What good is it to control a handful of networks and universities when people are free to learn what you don’t want them to know with a quick internet search?
So, naturally, the elites want to control internet content, so their control of people and culture can be reinforced.

Maybe they did give a shit about the list and were pissed that they had been removed.

This is such an important thread -- not just the original tweet but so many that follow in replies -- of liberals, genuine liberals, expressing shock and horror upon realizing, after watching the trial, that so much of what the media told them about the Rittenhouse case is false:
"I am highly educated and reasonably perceptive, and it was only today that I learned the Kyle Rittenhouse victims were white.
My progressive bubble made this seem like a very different case than it is."
[Link]
The root of the problem being almost no one looks for a primary source anymore. They get everything filtered through their news bubble. Not a single one of them watched the video, I have heard several of them go on and on, even sometimes admitting they were maybe wrong on the details (TYT garbage for example) and STILL say its just what they have heard come out in the trial, they have no idea what the video REALLY shows...
The video has been available since it happened and they wont take 5 seconds to actually take in primary source information. Just what MSM tells them to think
One of the primary media takes this week was kyle took his AR across state lines. A completely incorrect statement.
Good morning America has on Grosskruetz today calling him a paramedic and didn't mention once the gun he had or that he admitted to pointing it at Kyle.
I am not sold that Grosskuntz was ever an actual paramedic.
This is the only thing I could find that comes close: From 2013 to 2016, he attended Milwaukee Area Technical College at the Oak Creek, Wisconsin campus where he earned his emergency medical technician basic (EMT-B) certification.
Based on the lack of job history, I would guess that he either failed or bailed when presented with a real world situations and fled back to school.
EMT-Basic is exactly what it sounds like. You're not a certified paramedic until you complete your EMT-P course, which is a LOT more difficult.
The fact it took that bitch three fucking years just to finish his EMT-B course says a lot.
"I am highly educated and reasonably perceptive, and it was only today that I learned the Kyle Rittenhouse victims were white."
If the quoted speaker is merely commenting upon the depth of the propaganda surrounding the case, that's fine, and I can see how viewing other accounts of the incident would be jarring. The statement gives the connotation though, that the merits of Rittenhouse's actions might be dependent upon the race of his attackers.
Which is something you wouldn't expect from the highly educated, but such is Clown World.
"I am highly educated and reasonably perceptive"
3 pieces of evidence to the contrary for that gentleman.
- he never sought out the information himself, just listened to obvious propaganda networks
- he would have a vastly different opinion based on the race of the attackers
- he presumes said attackers to be victims
I mean I guess at least he seems to be aware of the bubble so thats good. But theres a reason the less intelligent are more susceptible to being trapped in their bubbles. I dont think he is the thinker he presumes himself to be
Its a form of Dunning-Kruger. Also, a superiority complex justified by empathy.
The same pattern has happened with CRT. Cant tell you how many people have just full on repeated "its not real, doesnt exist, no one is teaching or talking about it in these districts"
And they have nothing to say when confronted with primary documents that say "We as the VA school board are all about implementing CRT"...
And the next time the propagandists attack a young, white, conservative kid (They’ve become quite blatant in their targets), how many of these people will be fooled again? I’m putting the over/under at 90%.
Since it's a hive mind, I'll take the over
"I am highly educated and reasonably perceptive"
When someone has to declare it, you can be sure it's not true.
The highly educated part could be true, but that can also be an indicator for cluelessness.
* Highly indoctrinated.
Educated idiot.

https://freddiedeboer.substack.com/p/when-you-condone-chaos-you-condone
...I know quite a few people who were willing to say that riots were just good on the merits, and there were also many saying in some terms or another that these particular riots could not be judged by progressive people due to what had inspired them. This sentiment stretches back a long way but has picked up steam in the last decade and the past year and a half particularly. Here’s a pro-riot piece and here’s a pro-riot piece and here’s a pro-riot piece and here’s a pro-rioting interview and here’s a pro-looting interview and here’s a riots-aren’t-necessarily-good-but-they-do-good-things piece and here’s a both-sidesy rioting piece and on and on. (And this is merely hilarious.) Pro-rioting sentiment is perfect for our edgelord media; it makes for good, click-farming headlines and engages in the kind of moral simplicity and righteous hectoring that defines our current culture.
Well, look: chaos is chaotic. Bad shit happens when people riot. When you create environments where anything can happen… anything can happen. Some people are going to take advantage of that opportunity to do things that you don’t like. You can’t endorse spasms of directionless violence and then complain when some of it plays out in a way that you hadn’t intended. This seems totally obvious to me, and yet so many out there want to both condone riots and condemn their chaotic outcomes. It’s like putting on music and getting mad when people dance.
...For many posers on the left antifa is less the expression of authentic political strategy and more a tool to define oneself as an aesthetic radical. If you go to various protests and riots and encounter the self-defined antifascists there, I can assure you very few of them will be remotely interested about what happens in the courts at all. Because - and I’m sorry to break this to you romantic types - most people who self-select as antifa in 2021 are just bored white people attracted by the possibility of an excuse for mindless violence.
...Well, yes - sites of lawlessness and violence are good places to break the law and commit acts of violence. Perhaps the thing for thinking people to do, then, is not to pretend that such scenes are good for getting justice or anything else. Perhaps we should not give violent right-wing actors the cover of lawlessness and the excuse of mass violence, which they will inevitably use for their own ends. And people who never experience more disorder than they find in line at Whole Foods should probably stop romanticizing that which is inflicted on the poor neighborhoods they ostensibly have such humanitarian concern for.
You endorsed chaotic violence. In that state, someone you don’t like engaged chaotically and violently. You said “riots are good.” But people get killed in riots! Now two people are dead, another is maimed, and the guy responsible may very well walk, as his actions took place against a backdrop of lawlessness and gunfire that gave him the legal arguments he needs to be acquitted. What else did you expect to happen, in that scenario? How did you think this would all go, this peacocking endorsement of violence for its own sake? Reap what you sow. Reap what you sow.
You can’t endorse spasms of directionless violence and then complain when some of it plays out in a way that you hadn’t intended. This seems totally obvious to me, and yet so many out there want to both condone riots and condemn their chaotic outcomes. It’s like putting on music and getting mad when people dance.
^ Nust ask Chairman Mao.
Just
“You morons are running around in ski masks, blowing stuff up? What did you think was gonna happen?”
Fight Club.
The MSM is also trying to avoid mentioning that this started with a mob pushing a burning dumpster towards a gas station. If Rittenhouse had not interfered, they would likely not only have set the building on fire, but also the thousands of gallons of gasoline in underground tanks. That would have blown up the neighborhood, and dozens of people would have been dead or hospitalized with 3rd degree burns - not all them rioters.

"Yale has more administrators than undergraduate students."
But how many are political officers? Yale must have a huge need for Social Wokeness Party officials for every gathering of students, faculty, and bureaucrats.
You don't expect "diversity" to happen without a huge cadre of diversity officers, do you?
With so many administrators, isn't it time Yale hired some administrators to administer to the administrators?
They should get some administrators on that.

Y’all keep bitching about mean tweets, but if Trump had shown the amount of self control that an average 5 year old has we wouldn’t be worried about Biden.
You have a low IQ and are inadequate
Why are you worried about perception more than policy?
He wanted Biden to lose and the public's perception of Trump made that not happen?
It's possible to recognize that in the 2020s, there might be something to the concept of marketing.
NYT doesn't even make good TP... I tried.
Just wait until there is a federal Bureau of Butt Wipes. You'll be happy to get a piece of the NY Times.
We're at the point in the discourse when colleges have created the highly scientific and totally legitimate racial category of "Students of Color, minus Asian"
Overperforming means you don't get to be a POC.

"Welsh residents defiant as their village is set to be abandoned to rising sea levels'
[...]
"Like many others who came to Fairbourne, Stuart Eves decided the coastal village in northern Wales would be home for life when he moved here 26 years ago.
He fell in love with the peaceful, slow pace of small village life in this community of about 700 residents nestled between the rugged mountains and the Irish Sea.
‘I wanted somewhere my children can have the same upbringing as I had, so they can run free,’ said Eves, 72, who built a caravan park in the village that he still runs with his son.
‘You’ve got the sea, you’ve got the mountains. It’s just a stunning place to live.’
That changed suddenly in 2014, when authorities identified Fairbourne as the first coastal community in the UK to be at high risk of flooding due to climate change.
Predicting faster sea level rises and more frequent and extreme storms due to global warming, the government said it could only afford to keep defending the village for another 40 years.
Officials said that by 2054, it would no longer by safe or sustainable to live in Fairbourne..."
https://metro.co.uk/2021/11/11/residents-defiant-as-village-set-to-be-abandoned-to-rising-sea-levels-15582361/#:~:text=Residents%20were%20dubbed%20the%20U.K.%E2%80%99s%20first%20%E2%80%98climate%20refugees.%E2%80%99,they%E2%80%99ve%20got%20to%20try%20to%20rehome%20the%20people.
These residents are NOT being forced out by a rising sea, to which they had as many ways to adapt as there are residents there. Their property values have been demolished (and probably insurance denied) because of a government bureaucrat's prediction for years in advance.
One hundred years from now, with the sea in the exact same spot, nobody will remember how the picturesque village came to be abandoned.
I'll bet at least a couple will, but will they have learned anything?
The Man in the High(er than sea level) Castle.
By then, it will be a senior party member enclave, and regular people will not be allowed near.
They will use it to host climate change conferences, as a stark reminder of the dangers we face from inaction. Also for the views and the solitude.
Greta Thumberg’s dacha.
Not that it will matter, because the spot where the village once stood will be underneath a glacier several hundred feet thick.
JFC. Even with the highly unlikely sea rise there is a hill right behind them to move to.
But someone else, wiser than them, owns this property.
Like folks in Hawaii that build a house next to a volcano and a few years later a lava flow swallows their house. It isn’t global warming. It isn’t climate change. Don’t build next to a volcano. Or the ocean.
Why wouldn't a Welsh village be sinking into the sea? That's been happening ever since the last ice age - not only the sea level rising, but also the land rising in some places as it rebounds from the weight of mile-high glaciers, and sinking in other places in compensation. Around the British Isles, it's sinking. 10,000 years ago you could walk from England to Holland, and there are also drowned lands off the coast of Wales and Cornwall.

Fat and Feisty II: Jersey Tollbooth Terror
The defense rests in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial.
Did they disprove that he was a murderous racist Call of Duty LARPer who was hunting minorities? The kid traveled thousands of miles across state lines with an arsenal slung over his shoulder.
I guess you can conjure an exaggerated straw man to detract from a mixed-up, fatherless teenager, egged on by hateful partisan rhetoric, got his buddy to supply him a rifle and went seeking a fight in a situation where he was way over his head.
And, now, right-wingers are trying to make a hero out of a misguided teenager.
"I guess you can conjure an exaggerated straw man to detract from a mixed-up, fatherless teenager, egged on by hateful partisan rhetoric, got his buddy to supply him a rifle and went seeking a fight in a situation where he was way over his head..."
As opposed to novelist-wannabe asshole here with his morality-play bullshit.
Fuck off and die, asshole.
Mike Laursen is pure evil
I'm warming to this opinion.
I think he likes a little strawman on strawman action.
Cawman.
fatherless teenager
Who went to the city where his father resides.
right-wingers are trying to make a hero out of a misguided teenager.
The only time I see this sort of action being promoted instead of simply defended is when the promoter is engaged in obvious shitposting.
You would think a libertarian purist like yourself would be supportive of the right to armed self-defense. It's kind of essential for the whole philosophy to work.
"...You would think a libertarian purist like yourself..."
Worthy of OBL!
Truly.
Based on your comment, not much of a strawman after all.
Let's see. Things I did not say:
- I did not call Kyle Rittenhouse a racist or claim he was hunting minorities. (Notice there were no minorities involved in the entire scenario that took place that evening. It was all white people fighting each other, with the pretense that it was all about property rights or all about minority rights. We white people tend to be busy bodies.)
- I did not mention Call of Duty.
- I did not mention LARPing.
- I also, correctly, know that he didn't carry the rifle across state lines.
- I did not exaggerate his having one rifle as an "arsenal".
Things you did:
Cherry-picked very carefully, ignoring implied comments.
Things we will do:
Accept that your are a lying piece of lefty shit.
Mike. You called him racist in the original threads about the shooting.
"I guess you can conjure an exaggerated straw man "
...then you demonstrate how to do so. Good job, Laursen. That was an incredible straw man you burned. Sick burn, bro!
OK, please explain what in my comment was a strawman:
- Am I wrong that Rittenhouse's father is absent?
- Am I wrong that partisan rhetoric is hateful, and he consumed a lot of it?
- Am I factually incorrect that he got his buddy to buy him a rifle?
- Am I wrong he went looking for a fight?
- Am I wrong he ended up being over his head, and killing two people as a result? (Which speaks to my point about him being mixed-up: a sensible person wouldn't have inserted himself into that scenario.)
- Am I wrong that right-wingers are trying to make him into a hero?
- Am I wrong that Rittenhouse's father is absent?
Yes.
- Am I wrong that partisan rhetoric is hateful, and he consumed a lot of it?
Yes.
- Am I factually incorrect that he got his buddy to buy him a rifle?
Yes.
- Am I wrong he went looking for a fight?
Yes.
- Am I wrong he ended up being over his head, and killing two people as a result? (Which speaks to my point about him being mixed-up: a sensible person wouldn't have inserted himself into that scenario.)
The three idiots he shot shouldn't have been there either. Which makes you wrong.
- Am I wrong that right-wingers are trying to make him into a hero?
Because he shot your lefty boos?
The three idiots he shot shouldn't have been there either.
Indeed. Nor should they have been consuming the hateful partisan propaganda that drove them to think property destruction is righteous, nor should Grosskreutz have illegally had a loaded handgun with him at the peaceful protest.
But these things are not a problem for Mike on account of his rational, non-partisan objectivity.
I'm curious to see if he ended up putting you on mute after yesterday's back-and-forth. If it's one thing White Mike really hates, it's his passive-aggressive behavior and double standards being exposed in a way that he can't deflect from, which is why he resorted to accusing you of "stalking" him. The same thing happened to Overt after he attempted to engage Mike in good faith.
The same thing happened to Overt after he attempted to engage Mike in good faith.
I noticed that, which caught my attention, since Overt is one of the most consistently civil people here, yet Mike can't abide him. You combine that with Mike's ass-kissing toward people like Buttplug and Stroozel, who reliably behave like total jerks, and it's hard not to see him as a dishonest douchebag.
You would think at some point Dee would think to herself: “About once a week I have to add someone new to my mute list after they call me out for the same things. Maybe I should self-reflect.”
And thanks for getting her to admit she’s only here to attack who she perceives as “far right”.
"But these things are not a problem for Mike on account of his rational, non-partisan objectivity."
I guess so. I have Red Rocks White Privilege muted, but if he said, "The three idiots he shot shouldn't have been there either", I agree with him.
Anyway, you've turned into quite an asshole the past couple of days. So, muting you.
Lol! Congrats S=C!
It took surprisingly little.
And it's just so, so Mike that he turned "you disagreed with me that one time yesterday" into "you've turned into quite an asshole the past couple of days."
he turned "you disagreed with me that one time yesterday" into "you've turned into quite an asshole the past couple of days."
I'm sure it's sexist of me to note that the only time I ever see people behave like this is when they're actually PMSing, and hard.
Considering the posting volume of the people Mike has announced he's muted, it must be very easy for him to find his own posts and wallow in their brilliance.
Considering the posting volume of the people Mike has announced he's muted, it must be very easy for him to find his own posts and wallow in their brilliance.
Other than Best Used Car Sales, Square is arguably one of the most anodyne commenters the board has ever had. The fact that just one day's worth of pushback against Mike's bullshit was enough to get him muted is an indication of what a prissy, emotionally stunted little bitch Mike is.
if he said, "The three idiots he shot shouldn't have been there either", I agree with him
So why is this the very first time you're bringing them up? Why does Rittenhouse having been there make him guilty of a crime when you don't seem to be able to spare any animus for the child rapist who was literally trying to blow up a gas station?
Oh, wait, that's right - you stuck your fingers in your ears and you can't hear me.
Obviously, it's because Lauren actually *supports* the child rapist who was literally trying to blow up a gas station. Thus, angry that the child rapist got ventilated.
Would Lauren have been happier if Rosenbaum had succeeded in blowing up the gas station and died of burns, along with dozens of his co-rioters and innocent bystanders?
I guess so. I have Red Rocks White Privilege muted, but if he said, "The three idiots he shot shouldn't have been there either", I agree with him.
LOL, busted. I guess now we know Mike likes to unmute me just so he can wallow in being smacked around like the masochist that he is.
Haha, I called it yesterday!
"- Am I wrong that Rittenhouse's father is absent?"
Irrelevant
"Am I wrong that partisan rhetoric is hateful, and he consumed a lot of it?"
Your utter lack of evidence of this is noted.
"Am I factually incorrect that he got his buddy to buy him a rifle?"
No.
"Am I wrong he went looking for a fight?"
I'm not sure you could conceivably be MORE incorrect if you tried with this.
See, you made a straw man. And you do not even realize it.
Making you a total fucking moron.
And a disingenuous cunt besides.
“- Am I wrong he ended up being over his head, and killing two people as a result? (Which speaks to my point about him being mixed-up: a sensible person wouldn't have inserted himself into that scenario.)”
If it wasn’t for a corrupt DA, I’d say he was the only one involved that wasn’t in over his head.
I'd LOVE for cops to half the trigger discipline Kyle had.
I'd like it if cops had even half of Kyle's trigger discipline.
White Mike's crying again because his lefty boos got clacked.
Mike called Kyle a murderer the very night of the shooting. He inferred he was a racist terrorist. He was wrong on gun carry laws. He denied video showing self defense. And now denies the testimony of the prosecutions own witnesses.
The only thing Mike wants is someone he views as conservative locked up.
“The only thing Mike wants is someone he views as conservative locked up.”
His discussion with square yesterday supports this observation.
Parentless Dorothy Gale of Kansas travelled to a foreign country and killed an old woman. Then with her new strange group of friends stalked and murdered the old woman's sister.
What a cowardly, half-hearted comparison. This is a straw man argument if I ever heard one.
Took me a second... 😀
A+
Just turn a tin ear to it
Dorothy Gale also tricked the head of government into departing the country on a one-way trip in an unreliable and unsteerable aircraft.
Over his head? He did a pretty good job defending himself, I'd say. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
“……and went seeking a fight in a situation where he was way over his head”
Given the results, he wasn’t the one in over his head. You progs might want to take note. This was just some teenager. Imagine a million full grown men with real training and some experience in coordinated groups.
You Marxist fucks should back down, while you still can. If you don’t, it will end poorly for you.
I just want to know where I can buy a rifle that makes me immune to pistol fire like Binger implied.
I want the rifle that its mere presence neutralizes all potential harm from a raving lunatic who just lit a dumpster fire. That would come in pretty handy here in Austin.
"The defense rests in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial."
Make no mistake — this trial is literally all about race. Jeffrey Toobin shared this strikingly original insight:
I wonder what the verdict would be in the #RittenhouseTrial if the defendant were a Black seventeen year old from another state who killed two people with an illegal assault weapon?
Brilliant analysis. I'm glad his career recovered from that silly little scandal.
#LibertariansForToobin
He's always pulling something. TBQH though, I'd rather see him race bait than, you know.
Hey he's not named "Tube'n" for nothing.
Boob Toob?
silly little scandal
No pun intended
He got out of his situation without assistance. In other words, he handled it himself.
Man, is that guy a wanker or what?
Oh... right.
If there's anything Toobin knows, it's illegal gun handling.

When Joe Biden left Americans behind in Afghanistan it was the result of an incompetently managed withdrawal. Biden had from January of 2021 to August 15th to get Americans out of Afghanistan and did nothing. It shouldn't have been a surprise to the Biden administration when the Taliban waltzed into Kabul without a fight and surrounded the airport, but it was. It looks kinda like the same thing is happening right now in Haiti, but it isn't really. This time it's much worse--because the Biden administration knows Haiti is descending into chaos and that the airports won't be functioning for long.
"The Department of State urges U.S. citizens to make plans to depart Haiti now via commercial means. U.S. citizens should carefully consider the risks of traveling to or remaining in Haiti in light of the current security situation and infrastructure challenges. Widespread fuel shortages may limit essential services in an emergency, including access to banks, money transfers, urgent medical care, internet and telecommunications, and public and private transportation options. The U.S. Embassy is unlikely to be able to assist U.S. citizens in Haiti with departure if commercial options become unavailable."
----U.S. State Department, November 10, 2021
https://ht.usembassy.gov/security-alert-us-embassy-port-au-prince-haiti-11102021/
IF IF IF and when Haiti descends even deeper into chaos, don't give the Biden administration's incompetence a pass on failing to get Americans out--on the basis that procedures were followed. Don't give Biden's incompetence a pass on the principle that the victims were warned either. Even if it's true that people assume the risk for their own decisions, the Biden administration won't be leaving Americans there on the basis of any libertarian principle--like personal responsibility.
If the Biden administration doesn't bother getting Americans out while the major airports of Haiti are still functioning, it won't be because the Biden administration didn't know Haiti was descending even deeper into chaos either. Their own State Department is telling Americans to get out now! If the Biden administration doesn't bother getting Americans out of Haiti until it's too late to do so without a hostile invasion, it will only be because of the Biden administration's incompetence.
'...it will only be THE LASTEST EXAMPLE of the Biden administration's incompetence.'
I've lost count...
I don't recall Biden doing anything after Haiti's president was assassinated in July, after an earthquake hit in August, or after 17 Americans were kidnapped in October.
Biden appears increasingly inept, but the left wing media propagandists and fellow Democrats continue propping Biden up just like in the movie "Weekend at Bernie's".
Because the only thing that matters is winning the war on the working and middle class American citizen.
Well, the Americans kidnapped in Haiti were Christian missionaries, so Democrats think they deserve what they get, or smugly comment, "Why doesn't their God save them?".
Cite to any Democrat saying such a thing?
Look at Twitter. And why so concerned about protecting the democrats? You freely lie about conservatives in this very comment section.
Caw caw!
The difference is that commercial air traffic may be about to dry up. That wasn't the case before. The announcement that the Biden administration is concerned that commercial flights may soon no longer be willing or able to fly to and from Haiti in the near future is like an admission of guilt--should thousands of Americans find themselves stuck in Haiti with no way out. The State Department making an announcement like that should probably be coordinated with an announcement that any Americans who wish to leave should make their way to the airport to be evacuated by military transport.
Biden will give those Americans’ personal info to the Taliban and call it a day.
"Welcome back Carter."
His dreams were his ticket out.
Well the names have all changed since you hung around
But those dreams have remained and they've turned around
Biden will make us long for the halcyon days of the Carter Administration.
after 17 Americans were kidnapped in October
So that makes three countries where Americans are being held hostage? Damn.
Actually, it's four if you count the political prisoners at home.
“When Joe Biden left Americans behind in Afghanistan it was the result of an incompetently managed withdrawal.”
You are not acknowledging that many of the Americans who remained in Afghanistan didn’t want to get out.
Both can be true.
The Afghanistan withdrawal was incompetently managed and executed.
And resulted in a war crime due to Biden’s drone strikes.
Kind of looks that way, doesn't it? And all you hear are 'crickets' from the uber-lib NGOs.
MSM drones on about other things to chaff and redirect from Botcher Brandon Biden’s “Buck stops here” crime against the Afghani people.
“Drones on” <—-I see what you did there.

• Asian students do not qualify as students of color:
Neither do caucasians.
And depending upon their definition of "color", hispanics/latinos may not qualify either.
The term "people of color" is an intentionally divisive racist term, which is why left wingers love to use it for identity politics.
Identifying people by the color of their skin is racism.
"And depending upon their definition of "color", hispanics/latinos may not qualify either."
Depends, are they "Wexicans?" Or maybe "White Hispanics?"
"White Hispanics," like George Zimmerman (who had as much black ancestry as Homer Plessy, and who would have been classified as "colored" under Florida's old Jim Crow laws).
Jorge Zimmerman.
Race and gender are social constructs. The most important social constructs to maintain for identarian statists. They've done more to make sure those concepts are made concrete and unassailable than any white supremacist fringe group.
i just say i'm indigenous because technically all humans are indigenous
I'm a native American. I was born here.
All white people are evil racists.
Zimmerman, he stopped being Mexican and became white during the trial.
The half black half whit ESPN reporter became an all white white supremist when she said she wouldn't identify as black
Zimmerman was never Mexican. His Hispanic ancestors were from Peru.
“Neither do caucasians.” What have you got against Georgians and Armenias?
Asian students do not qualify as students of color
They're only POC when the left finds it convenient, like when the Rittenhouse judge made a joke about Asian food and supply chains.
That's just not true.
The FBI counts them when asking for more funding to combat hate crimes and the media counts them when Trump claims COVID originated in China.
My favorite claims of "Anti-Asian" racism have to be the situations when they are deflecting criticism of China. Because everyone knows how much all of the Asian countries approve of China and love being associated with them and everything they've done.
I like that some of these idiots will defend China to the bitter end but the racist, anti-Muslim genocide happening in Western China to the Uyghurs is an internal Chinese political matter, not an instance of anti-Asian or anti-Muslim hate. They're Turkic people so I'm sure they fall into the "White, not Asian even though they're from actual Asia" category.
See also Aung San Suu Kyi's government in Myanmar with respect to the Rohingya.
Chalk it up to "principals not principles".
Uyghur lives do NOT matter.
They are white when black people mug them. Same goes for the jews
The White House Says More Government Spending Will Fix Inflation
Yeah, like a "hair of the dog that bit you" will cure a hangover.
Another aspect to inflation that people don't understand: By printing more money than there are goods and service in the economy, government is not only raising the cost of consumer goods and services, but also the cost of capital and labor used by businesses to provide those goods and services.
A higher cost of capital and labor means less production of goods and services, which means the inflated money has even fewer goods and services to chase, so prices of consumer goods and services and capital and labor go still higher, and so on, and so on...
Also, more money chasing fewer goods and services means higher costs for the items government uses to carry out its functions, (whether those functions are legitimate or not from a libertarian standpoint.) Thus inflation ultimately means more increase in direct taxation and the in crease in more printing ofvmoney and more borrowing to support government functions. And as government takes on more functions in response to "failures of the market" which government created,, the cycle just gets worse and worse until government runs everything.
Inflation is The Conqueror Worm of Economics and Politics:

"The White House Says More Government Spending Will Fix Inflation"
I was making sarcastic jokes like that the other day. We hit a 30 year high on inflation, so I joked that we need to get out of the way so Biden can address inflation with trillions in new spending. This is life imitating sarcasm. This is Poe's law come to life. Nothing we can say through sarcasm is so ridiculous, that progressive won't actually advocate it in real life. Progressive are so ignorant! They should be offended that their leaders insult our intelligence by saying ridiculous things like this, but they're aren't. They just start howling up whatever tree Biden points to, like a pack of retarded wolves.
The B-3 bill is dead. It will not pass. Thank God.
I want to believe.
Haven't seen the death certificate yet.
“Died from COVID.”
Yup, hard to tell apart headlines from the NYT and the Bee.
Not really, just look at the date. The Bee headline will be first.
Although in a way you are correct, as the time difference between them has shrunk. The Bee used to be months, or even years ahead. Now they’re lucky to be a few days ahead.
Not to mention more people moving up into the next tax bracket thanks to inflation.
But think of all the well paying jobs that the Biden bills would create. Sure it will sap a few people away from the private sector and that will necessarily increase the cost of labor to produce the things people buy and that will be reflected in the higher prices of goods and services. I mean it isn't like there are millions of open positions employers are trying to fill so - oh wait.
Thank goodness for CTRL-F, because I Iearned that someone else used a hair-of-the-dog reference.
But what if the bottles in the liquor cabinet are mysteriously all empty? How can you get a hair of the dog *then*?
Listerine. Hairspray.
"I'll take 'Things You Might See As An EMT' for $400, Alek."
Why link to CBSnews, com regarding the Rittenhouse trial. CBS has been one of the absolute worst at unbiased reporting, as evidenced by the commentary from Grosskreutz on the same page as the trial coverage. That douchebag has received money and filed a lawsuit because of the perception of him as a victim and he has a serious financial interest in the outcome of the trial.
No news organization with a shred of dignity should be giving voice to Grosskuntz before the trial is over.
All of corporate media has been terrible on this.
ABC Good Morning America had a summary of yesterday's testimony.
"Right wing blogger brought in to present video that he shot attempted to support Rittenhouse.."
Paraphrased, but the operative part was that he was described as a "Right Wing" nobody who was out to support what one can only assume is his white nationalist buddy.
Did not show clip of him on stand. But if you were plugged in to any legal commentary, the clip that got passed around was of the prosecutor trying to discredit him by saying that he called the peaceful activities in support of minority rights "riots and arson" and referred to activists as "BLM and Antifa rioters.".
His answer:
"That's because the people in the video were rioting."
Yet another mic drop moment brought to you by the prosecutor of the year.
But the networks all covered it the way they have the rest of the trial.
They have to be angling for unrest now.
The View yesterday gave a summary of the trial as "we watched 2 people get murdered and a third shot for no reason" and opined that it was all about race. Said if he looked like them (the black ladies) he never would have gotten out of jail... And then revised that to "she statistics show that he would be dead."
Summed it up with "white supremacists have made this guy a hero, and if he is convicted he will be a white nationalist martyr". And if he is acquitted, all of the white nationalists like him will know that they can go to any protest and shoot people with impunity.
Pushing an obviously false narrative really, really hard.
Oh, also had clips of Grosskuntz interview, presented very sympathetically and without reference to his damning testimony that agreed to the elements of self defence.
This is really, really dangerous
^
It's going to suck for people in any town that has more riots. Talk around the truck stops is to just refuse loads delivering in places that go up. The price on those loads will go up, but you can't spend it if you end up like Reginald Denny.
Ran into a couple of surprisingly good YT vlogs over the last couple of days. Prior to the trial, about all I knew was from the Chron, which is obviously biased, but, lordy, lordy, HOW biased! Make that flat-out dishonest.
Those vlogs have been eye-openers, and if the jurors had gotten their prior info from the legacy media, it's likely to make them a bit angry at having been mislead.
Commie shit on the Rittenhouse thread was spouting the same bullshit as the Chron; he's been fed his story and no facts are gonna get in the way!
Robert Barnes had a group do some test juries to see how it plays out.
65% of Kenosha residents said they had made up their mind before the trial. No real effort was made to exclude these people.
His test jury showed that about 35% believed he was guilty and could not be moved by any evidence. The narrative they used to arrive at guilt was "he never should have been there". So once you arrive at that, self defense is irrelevant. Even a pedophile crazy person who threatened to kill you fits the "but you never should have been there" narrative.
The judge may be stuck. If the jury has an element that reacts like this they will either hang or the acquit faction will cave, either to conviction demands or reach a compromise.
If that happens, directed verdict is squarely in his lap. No way he can't see that the kid has easily met the burden of proof for self defense. And that puts him in a very, very tight spot.
The *prosecution's* start witness admits to attacking Rittenhouse before being shot, and this doesn't break through the bubble?
I'll kick in to a go-fund-me for appeal if he does get convicted.
A go-fund-me for Rittenhouse' defense will not be allowed.
^
Grosskreutz' testimony was devastating for the defense in several ways. Not only did he testify that Kyle didn't fire at him until his pistol was pointing at Kyle, he ALSO testified that, because he's a former EMT, he had reason to fear for Kyle's safety when he was attacked by the other two guys who attacked him while he was on the ground.
He single-handedly made the case for self-defense on all of the charges except Rosenbaum. The prosecution's star witness did that.
I should say it was devastating for the prosecution, not the defense. Well, it was devastatingly effective for the defense because he testified to all the elements of self-defense in his testimony. If you knew nothing about the case prior to him taking the stand, his testimony alone is enough for an acquittal, and he's a prosecution witness.
You can see why Binger is so desperate to establish the "he came there looking for a fight" narrative, because everything now hinges on whether or not Rosenbaum initiated the first conflict that led to the rest of it. Although even if he didn't, it's still very hard to see how Huber and Grosskreutz weren't self defense, given that Rittenhouse was very obviously running toward the police, and what Huber and Grosskreutz were doing was at best vigilantism.
And does anyone believe they're goal was to peacefully apprehend Rittenhouse and hand him over to the authorities that the protest was nominally against?
Go fund me refused to support Rittenhouse. All the charity I have thought to give when I refuse to use GoFund me in principle.
I will say that Drew Hernandez was probably the worst defense witness. He didn't really come off as neutral and interested in the facts, not like the Grandma or the photographer guy. Richie McGinnis was a prosecution witness who essentially had the same testimony to share, and he was much better as a defense witness than Hernandez.
Just about the only thing they got from Hernandez was a very short snippet of video that showed Kyle walking (not running) with a fire extinguisher, to dispute the state's claim that he was chasing Rosenbaum. But there's not enough video of Rosenbaum to clarify what he was doing and Hernandez showed he's definitely biased in favor of the defense.
Yeah, Hernandez was definitely a crap witness. The defense team should have done a much better job coaching him than they did.
I have heard several pundits half-jokingly opine that both the prosecutor and the defense seem to be trying to throw the case.
I wonder how the jury read that.. repeatedly badgering him about how terrible it was to call BLM and Antifa activists "rioters" and having him come back with "that's because they were rioting in the video"
Wooo woo wooo he was carrying an assault fire extinguisher? As we learned from Jan 6 that's serious
CNN just reported he had zip-ties in his pocket. Dee is moist.
All of corporate media has been terrible on this.
Not from their perspective
"No news organization with a shred of dignity should be giving voice to Grosskuntz before the trial is over."
So CBS was a shoo-in for the job.
Judge in Kyle Rittenhouse trial makes inappropriate Asian food joke
https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/11/us/kenosha-judge-bruce-schroeder-asian-food-comments/index.html
And here we go. Kyle is going to go free because he's a white supremacist killer and the racist judge let him off because he had a klan meeting to get to.
Get ready for more of this
It's going to have to get to full Defcon 4 before it burns down; then maybe we really can "build back better."
Amazing, but not surprising. From the linked CNN propaganda quoting a woke Asian whose delicate feelings were hurt by the judge's joke.
But his comments were offensive and perceived as anti-Asian by some and as placing blame on Asian people for a large-scale event.
"It harms our community and puts us in the crosshairs of micro aggressions as well as actual physical violence," said John Yang, president and executive director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice-AAJC.
An hour later, he was hungry.
Ridiculous. The joke was about the clogged up ports on the west coast, not Asians.
Apparently it was egregious enough to merit an article saying the judge is racist, on the top of their news stories
^
Yeah, I saw that headline. That joke was funny. This judge is not just good, he's excellent, and yet they're framing him as shitty. He's not anti-prosecution, he's calling out the prosecution for having violated the constitutional rights of witnesses no less than three times. If the prosecution wasn't being slimy they wouldn't be treated like slimebags.
This is an excellent judge. When there's a dispute about procedures or rules of evidence, he gets out his book, reads the statutes, and goes through them with the lawyers because he's interested in getting it right. And he's been extremely licentious in the amount of evidence he's allowed to be admitted even without proper foundation, which is something the prosecution would never get away with under 99% of judges, so you can't claim he's secretly a defense lawyer.
The mainstream media needs a scapegoat for why Kyle is going to walk and they've decided it's the judge. Which is insane because he seems like an extremely reasonable and honorable man.
In the end, they are going to take away from it what we always knew they would:
A racist white, in a racist country, got away with doing racist stuff because America is racist.
Were their any black people on the street in Kenosha that night?
"Were their any black people on the street in Kenosha that night?"
If there were...he's a racist and guilty.
If there weren't...he's a racist and guilty.
So I guess its not relevant
Well, they also need to attack him so he doesn't feel safe rendering a directed verdict. Because this one is really close to that level. Also really close on dismissal with predjudice... They must show that the prosecutor violated his rights and did so I tentionally. The judge already opined that he believes they did it intentionally when he rebuffed their claim of good faith on the second violation, coming directly on the heels of the first slap down.
They're still gonna get Rittenhouse on the weapons misdemeanor. Unless the judge tosses that charge.
The problem I see is the jury will want to be seen as 'doing something' and not as racists. It doesn't help that there are people out there attempting to film, and identify them (for harassment later?).
ADA Binger should be sanctioned.
Reckless endangerment too. Depending on the instruction, the "just being there is wrong" crowd puts his existence with an AR-15 as reckless endangerment. That could put him behind bars for more than a decade, IIR.
And nobody seems to have confidence in the defense ability to properly contest the jury instructions.
Yeah, ADA Binger is pushing to instruct the jury can find for murder 1, or all the forms of manslaughter Rittenhouse was not charged with. And closing arguments are going to be a problem. I guarantee that.
Hope the judge keeps bench-slapping ADA Binger, who really should be sanctioned for his behavior.
And Binger thinks the AR-15 is an exceptionally scary gun so simply holding it is provocation. Maybe it's not provocative if he has a smaller gun. Scary guns mean you can't defend yourself.
Fuck this ADA.
It was explained to me that Missouri has a law that states that if the defendant is violating weapons laws in some way, and he invites a deadly threat as a result, then the self-defense argument no longer applies. I'm not sure the point of the misdemeanor charge is just to get him on something when all else fails. I think they're trying a hail Mary. They're trying to argue that self-defense doesn't apply to him because the reason people attacked him was because he was brandishing a weapon that he shouldn't have had in the first place.
That's not the law in Wisconsin, though. The law in Wisconsin regarding self-defense requires that you not be the instigator of violence. If you didn't start the fight, you can use self-defense as an affirmative defense. Even if you did something illegal, like breaking into someone's home, if you then retreat (which Kyle clearly did when he ran away from Rosenbaum until he was cornered), then you stop being the instigator because you tried to resolve the situation non-violently.
Kyle didn't shoot when Rosenbaum threw a bag at him (the first violent act). He didn't fire the first shot in that engagement-it was Zaminsky. He fired when Rosenbaum lunged at him, screaming "Fuck you!" from less than 4 feet away, after Kyle had been chased across a parking lot.
Please see my link below.
And please not that I'm not saying Rittenhouse should be guilty. I'm saying that may be the prosecutor's strategy--whether I like it or not.
If you ask me, my guess is that if the jury is told that they're compelled to find Rittenhouse guilty of the shootings if they find he's guilty of the misdemeanor, rather than making the jury more likely to convict Rittenhouse of murder, their more likely to throw out the misdemeanor charge.
I doubt anyone on that jury wants to find Rittenhouse guilty of murder at this point.
I meant Wisconsin.
Anyway, here's someone else referring to what I was saying:
"939.48 Self-defense and defense of others.
(1) A person is privileged to threaten or intentionally use force against another for the purpose of preventing or terminating what the person reasonably believes to be an unlawful interference with his or her person by such other person. The actor may intentionally use only such force or threat thereof as the actor reasonably believes is necessary to prevent or terminate the interference. The actor may not intentionally use force which is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily harm unless the actor reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself.
. . . .
(b) The presumption described in par. (ar) does not apply if any of the following applies:
1. The actor was engaged in a criminal activity or was using his or her dwelling, motor vehicle, or place of business to further a criminal activity at the time.
https://www.volnation.com/forum/threads/kyle-rittenhouse-the-truth-in-11-minutes.319377/page-54#post-20501302
The prosecutor may intend to argue that because Rittenhouse was "engaged in a criminal activity" (carrying an AR-15 under age), he is not entitled to a self-defense claim. In other words, the prosecutor may intend to argue that if the jury finds Rittenhouse guilty of the misdemeanor, then they need to throw out the self-defense justification for the shootings.
I see your confusion. You need to see the provision (ar). That's the Castle Doctrine, which will always assume self-defense, with the exception that the owner of the residence is engaging in criminal activity at the home (or else shooting at one of the King's Men). It's actually not relevant here because Kyle did not live at the Car Source and was not employed at the Car Source.
That legal provision does not apply to this case.
Also, it's worth saying, even if you're doing something illegal at your home, you can still claim self-defense. It's just not assumed as a matter of course that it's self-defense if it can be shown that you were doing something illegal.
Wisconsin is going to assume self-defense if you shoot someone breaking into your home as a starting point.
Leave in the weapons charge so the people on the jury who think Kyle was wrong for being there can convict on something. "He didn't murder those people but he still did something wrong." Then the defense can file a motion to void due to vagueness and the judge can set aside the ruling because even he doesn't understand if Kyle actually broke the law.
That's not how justice works
If justice works here, Rittenhouse walks.
the judge can set aside the ruling because even he doesn't understand if Kyle actually broke the law.
^This.
The fact checkers are misrepresenting what the statute regarding dangerous weapons actually says. They are characterizing it as if rifles and shotguns are only exempt if the person under 18 is hunting. I would argue that Rittenhouse was in compliance because he was not hunting. 29.593 is a requirement for a certificate of accomplishment to obtain hunting approval. It contains no rules about how weapons shall be carried, which other sections do. He was not violating 941.28 (shortened barrels) and in compliance with 29.304 (persons under 16).
Section 941, under which he is being charged, otherwise has nothing to do with hunting. This is going to be the issue that even the judge is not sure how the law is intended to be applied.
948.60 (1)(a) Any person under 18 years of age who possesses or goes armed with a dangerous weapon is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
948.60 (3)(c) This section applies only to a person under 18 years of age who possesses or is armed with a rifle or a shotgun if the person is in violation of s. 941.28 or is not in compliance with ss. 29.304 and 29.593.
The joke wasn't even really about Asian food, it was about the supply chain issues. As in, saying the Asian food is coming from Asia, and will take forever to arrive because of the shipping issues in Los Angeles.
Don't expect progressive/left-leaning types to understand, they will only react emotionally to what they decide is 'racism.'
Don't expect progressive/left-leaning types to understand. Full stop.
CNN solicits two quotes from 'experts' on Asian-American justice over a comment that wasn't even about Asian people, it was about Asian food. It wasn't even a joke, I would categorize it as a wry observation, but not particularly witty.
The lengths to which the CNN and other news orgs will go to make anything and everything about race is astonishing.
The progressive news media will be partially responsible for any social disturbance that breaks out after the verdict--because of the way they've covered this trial.
The surveys of how much people trust the news media were showing that they we were testing new lows a couple of weeks ago, and I suspect things are even worse now as far as the public's faith in the news.
How is this racist? Asians aren't
Colored PeoplePeople Of Color anymore.First of all, I have to believe the judge said he hoped the Chinese food was coming, not that it wasn't, i.e., he was making a small joke about the supply chain issues, but I'm afraid you're going to have to walk me through this very slowly to explain to me how this comment was "off-color" or "racist". Other than the usual "a white man said it and since all white people are racist it, by definition, makes every single word they say a racist statement". What the hell is CNN even talking about here?

Between AstroWorld, the phony Russia dossier falling apart, and the Rittenhouse trial the Biden admins potential closure of the L5 Pipeline has been largely missed by the public. What is L5, why shut it down, and why does it matter? Lets look...
But that can't be.
That would mean Buttplug has been lying about the L5 closure then for the past week... You really think someone would do that? Just go on the Internet and tell lies?

The Rittenhouse case is Repressive Tolerance in action. Prosecution allowed to break laws with impunity and defense plays by the rules.
Shitlib school board president and his daddy were keeping a dossier of personal info of board critics:
Arizona school board president kept secret dossier on parents opposed to CRT and mask mandates that was discovered after he accidentally sent a link to a mom: Private investigator ran background checks and filmed parents
A school board president in Arizona has been accused of maintaining a secret online dossier containing personal details about parents who opposed mask mandates and Critical Race Theory.
Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board President Jann-Michael Greenburg's access to the Google Drive file was revealed after he accidentally displayed the link in a screenshot he sent to a parent in a heated email chain.
The drive contained files labeled 'SUSD Wackos' and 'Anti Mask Lunatics' among others in a sprawling database tracking the online activities of parents in the district.
The drive was set to public, allowing anyone with a link to view it, and the contents, including the Social Security numbers, financial information and divorce records of parents, quickly set off a firestorm of calls for Greenburg to resign, according to AZ Free News.
Greenburg, incidentally, gained his seat as a snot-nosed 24-year-old. Only in an environment of political apathy ("I'm not corrupt or busybody enough to get involved in government") is someone this unqualified allowed to run an entire school board for one of the wealthiest school districts in the state of Arizona.
And just to emphasize how far these commies have insinuated themselves into these boards, from another part of the Phoenix East Valley:
According to emails obtained by Not in our Schools, Sgt. Greg Howarth of the Chandler Police Department spent time in April and May gathering evidence on parent groups opposed to critical race theory and child masking to satiate the request of Chandler Unified School District’s (CUSD) Director of School Safety Tanya Smith.
Ahead of controversial school board meetings, Smith, who admitted she was already seeking out information about dissenters on social media, asked Howarth to share any information he had about certain parent groups that were openly opposed to mask mandates. Howarth reassured her that he already had “access to their sites” and would “be monitoring them.”
You want this shit to stop? Stop pretending you're too pure to be associated with any sort of government entity, start getting involved in what's going on with these boards, and push back HARD when these commies start acting like their Stasi forebears. Never forget that they want you broke, dead, your children raped and brainwashed, and they think it's funny.
"Want to keep your town? You're gonna have to fight for it."
Hey look literal stazi!
Holy shit that is crazy!

Opinion: You think the U.S. will get hyperinflation? There’s a better chance that interest rates will go to zero
Published: Nov. 10, 2021 at 9:59 a.m. ET
So while we have reopening price jags if interest rates are FALLING like in Germany and Japan there won't be any significant inflation.
Who is eating the loss?
If the Fed sets rates to zero...
What mortgage company lends money at 3%? Inflation is easily double that number. Who would invest cash at an underwater rate for 30 years? Just a couple of years of high inflation would eat all your gains and then some... And your money is still tied up for decades.
It is just a silly notion. Nobody is serious when they claim something like that. They are trying to bolster an argument, that is all.
some shill wrote an article contravening the reality we all see right before us. So it must be true!
Anyone can write an article about anything. Printing unlimited money causes inflation. full stop.
That would be very, very bad for retirees = interest rates moving to zero. One response is to decrease the duration of your bond holdings.
Structurally, I don't think we will see zero percent nominal yield because the bond market is responding with rising yields in the face of rising spending. On a real return basis, bonds suck. We'll see real bond returns this year in the -5% to -7% range.
Retirement is a lot more expensive with shitty yields.
OTOH, I-Bonds are a SCREAMING buy right now.

turd lies; it’s what he does. turd is a lying pile of lefty shit.
More spending and borrowing will eventually drive interest rates close to 0 -- that's what happens in a depression.
But first interest rates will rise spectacularly to try to catch inflation, and the 1.44 trillion the Fed is spending to try to keep rates low won't be nearly enough. And if they print even more, inflation will just get worse.
So the Fed will "taper" and walk away, rates with spike, crashing the housing market and the stock market, which will lead us back to 1929 to start over, with rates close to 0 to try to revive the zombie economy.
It's all worth it: No mean tweets!
That didn't happen in Germany or Japan.
https://mitpress.mit.edu/books/japans-great-stagnation
You’re as out of touch as the president.
LOL it's easy to make rates go to zero. The Fed just says "rates are zero."
If the market were setting rates, it would not be zero.

Yes, you read that right. Project Veritas had recently sued The New York Times over an unrelated matter, and now the Times has Project Veritas’ privileged communications that reveal their legal strategies. Given the circumstances, there could only be one logical source for that information — the FBI
It's not a leak if they're intentionally using a colander.

Are we sure this wasn't about Jeffrey Toobin's earlier tweet?
The FBI is beyond worrying about getting in any trouble for blatant violations like this. If they can get away with spying on a presidential campaign, openly setting people up for trumped up process crimes and setting up a false premise for impeaching a president.... All of which they have been caught red handed doing... What on earth would make anyone believe that they are worried about illegal searches and leaking privileged communications to a participant in a lawsuit?

So at what media stage are we in this story?
1. Inflation isn't happening.
2. Well, ok, inflation is happening, but it's not as bad as you say.
3. Ok, inflation is happening, it's as bad or... actually worse than you say, but you need to accept it and it's probably a good thing.
1. Inflation isn't going to happen
2. There is no Inflation
3. The inflation is transitory
4. The inflation isn't transitory, but it will be over by next year
5. The inflation is staying indefinitely, but it's actually a good thing and anyway you should lower your expectations.
6. We're going to fix the inflation by printing trillions upon trillions upon trillions of new dollars. <- You Are Here
7. It's all the Orange Man's fault!
40+ Executive orders the Biden's first weeks in office says it is all Biden's fault. You can't even lie your way out of that.
The FBI shared selective videos of the Kenosha riot with prosecutors (but not Rittenhouse defense attorneys) and the FBI testified on behalf of the prosecution.
https://thefederalist.com/2021/11/11/sen-johnson-probes-fbi-aerial-surveillance-after-rittenhouse-defense-suspects-foul-play-in-kenosha-case/
So what happened to the rest of FBI's videos of Kenosha's riot (showing Rittenhouse defending himself), and what has the FBI done with all of their videos of hundreds of BLM rioters committing crimes during last year's many riots?
And why did an FBI agent assist prosecutors and testify against Rittenhouse in a trial that the FBI (and all objective people) clearly knew that Rittenhouse was defending himself?
Seems like Biden's defamatory tweet calling Rittenhouse a white supremacist has now become FBI and DOJ policy.
Probably because their "Boogaloo" front group was in the crowd, and they didn't want the defense asking why they didn't try to stop a bunch of radical left Antifags from trying to blow up a gas station.
The FBI agent's testimony ended up being thrown out. I don't know what he testified to because they didn't allow the media to record his testimony because he was undercover or something.
A dog ate their hard drive?
Inflation is good, even desirable or, at the very least, a side-effect of success. But in spite of it's being good, if you want it to stop, you have to wholeheartedly support all of the Democratic party program, especially the BBB "infrastructure" plan. The people who deny this are ignorant about real economics and don't know about the multiplier effect. Economists with PhD's assure us that people getting free money for childcare will be 10x more productive than they would be otherwise.
The other way to stop inflation is to report un-vaccinated people. Those people are standing in the way of economic growth, and if even one of those people continues to enjoy freedom, we will not be able to control inflation.
Exactly. Give people more money to spend and inflation will stabilize. Make it easier for people to take time off work (or fire them for standing in the way of stopping the virus permanently) and the supply chains will solidify.

The NYT with a helpful OpEd on dealing with the temporary supply chain issues in the economy:

Global supply-chain problems might cause shortages of the season’s “it” toys or tech gadgets, but they do not have to ruin the holidays. Instead of rushing to the stores or filling your online shopping cart early, perhaps this is a time to question the annual marketing drive telling us that we must start spending now and keep spending through December to manifest a Christmas morning of abundance and cheer.
This is not about being a Grinch, canceling Christmas or trying to pass a minimalist purity test. It’s about breaking out of a consumer mind-set that demands we constantly buy things...
The New York Times on record as opposing a Christmas morning of abundance and cheer. Not even hiding it anymore.
Re:inflation
Hey Peanuts,
I just checked my investments last year and I managed a 32% yearly gain on my portfolio. That’s more than 6.2%, right?
Cool. Now do the poor and lower middle class people you care about. Who struggle to save anything, have no money for an emergency, and cant fill up a 401k. They made 0 on investments, but groceries are anywhere from 6-50% more expensive.
But you are fat and happy with your uber eats and netflix, so let them eat cake right?
Maybe they should advocate for cradle-to-grave social security and single payer health care. That, and not having to pay for a military that does nothing besides fighting for multinationals. It would be a start.

Was that Boardwalk or Baltic Avenue?
What exactly is your point? That inflation doesn't matter unless it affects you personally? That's an odd position for someone who claims to be concerned about the collective good.
No, I’ve said the working class is better off with a progressive income tax that redistributes income from rich people so that normal people can live a decent life. I’ve been here for years. Have I not made that clear. If not, my bad.
I liked you guys better when you were equating my advocacy of a socially democratic welfare state with communist totalitarianism. That was at least fun. This gaslighting about your presumed concern about the poor just makes you all look dishonest and weak. Since when did libertarians care about the poor and those beneath their social class? What year exactly did you go over the cliff and become sooo fucking pathetic. I think I know. 2016. Fuck man, Dear Leader has really been bad for you guys.
"Cool. Now do the poor and lower middle class people you care about."
Ya you missed the mark. The argument is that your ilk are whining non stop about the poor yet you continue to both push policies that fuck them over, and when it happens you laugh about it from your couch while you enjoy your guilt free existence because "you care (TM)".
Sorry if you mistook holding you to account for your bad policies, ideas, and attitudes, for a different argument. It likely is hard for you to keep up with your intellectual betters.
"No, I’ve said the working class is better off with a progressive income tax that redistributes income from rich people"
They tell tales of a country where the bottom 50% of earners dont have to pay anything! And the top 1% pay 40% of the whole countries tax burden! The top 10% pay the majority of the tax burden and the top 20% basically pay the whole thing!
You should move there, you would love it. Its about the most progressive tax code out there.
Now try to invest in something "safe" like a 10-year US Treasury bond (around 1.5%). Who would loan the government money at 1.5% while inflation is at 6%? No one, if the Fed wasn't tilting the scale by buying 80 billion in US Treasuries every month.
And then predict what will happen to the housing market and the stock market when the Fed lets interest rates rise to keep pace with inflation.... stocks might move by 30% in that scenario, but it won't be up.
No you didn't.
You know we can tell your stupid bare-faced lies and there's no reason not to call you out on them.
You achieved no gains at all because you don't have any investments. That's why you live on the residential hotel with one bathroom for each floor.
Why are you imitating Dipshit Dave Weigel’s dumb schtick word for word now? It’s even more stupid coming from you than it is coming from him.
God, you Peanuts have been waiting for this day of the worthless dollar and anarchists smashing ATMs— aka ~4% annualized inflation— for decades. I should have listened to all your advice on stashing gold bars and buying MREs. Now my family and I have to live on tree bark and last night I had to sell the wife to the local warlord to buy me some hard tack and moldy sausage for my starving children. I’m very unhappy. You were right all along, Peanuts. I’m sorry!
I love it when idiots try to flex on btc holders.
Yes, my strategy has worked out so terribly.
this. The dollar is worth 6% less and by crypto is worth 300% more. Pity me some more, please
Woof, the mortgage welsher has gone manic due to fear that Kyle Rittenhouse is going to hunt him down and give him the full Huber.
Ordering someone a Huber. Is there an app for that?
False consciousness?
The media so badly need to tarnish Kyle because this trial is a perfect projection of the games white progs have been playing with anti-racism. Most of the ones screaming for it are white progs, who are using it as a power grab to silence other whites and have them sit down, shut up. And because they are on the "righteous" (fascist) side, they can do no wrong and get in on the power grab.
Kenosha is no different. The "anti-racist" protestors who attacked kyle can do no wrong. They can burn buildings, and threaten Kyle (a white supremacist after all) because they are "good whites" on the side of "racial justice". Kyle is by nature guilty, as it is clear he is a white supremacism bigot, since he didnt want antifa/BLM to burn buildings.
Yep. "Anti-"racist whites are the ones that form mobs to burn down black neighborhoods and murder black children.
Most of the ones screaming for it are white progs, who are using it as a power grab to silence other whites and have them sit down, shut up.
Like I've said, I don't mind so much that white leftists are the only ethno-political group that hates their own race, nor is it an accident that so many Zoomer and Millennial leftists have such high rates of mental illness. If they really had the courage of their convictions, though, they'd slit their wrists in the tub, rather than screech that other white people should have the same degree of self-loathing that white leftists do.
Every white prog I find who obsesses over climate change, how america is the worst country, and how terrible/basic/boring white people are, coincidentally have high rates of depression/anxiety, and need inordinate amounts of "self care" time to process their feelz.
Probably just a coincedence, right 🙂
Rittenhouse defense today fumbled the ball on the goal line. They've got all the facts they need but there's a chance they lost today on jury instructions. Prosecutor got admitted a blurry video he can use to argue that Kyle provoked Rosenbaum, and the defense had the judge convinced but the conceded to allow it.
Basically, the jury instruction is going to ask jurors whether they consider Kyle to have provoked the assault on him. All the media coverage claims that his simply being there was provocative, that carrying a weapon is provocative, that he had no right to carry the weapon and was violating curfew. They also have inadmissable hearsay evidence from an unnamed witness never called who claimed Kyle pointed his gun at people, which the jury heard and should never have heard (because the defense is incompetent). So the prosecution is going to be able to advance their theory that Kyle is the instigator and anything the jury considers provocation will be factored into the verdict.
Defense failed to realize that they had to win on jury instructions because the prosecution can twist words to make it seem like Kyle wasn't allowed to defend himself. This could be devastating on Monday.
ATM...I had a feeling jury instructions would be problematic. Legal Insurrection has decent legal analysis on the case. The guy writing about it, Braca, has a lively sense of humor.
Being there was provocative.
See, this is the exactly the kind of dumbass the prosecution is appealing to.
If simply being there is provocation, then Kyle can use that as justification for shooting people who just happened to be there. It's clearly not, but prosecution is hoping jurors will apply that standard to Kyle and not to his attackers.
This post-scarcity socialist workers' utopia sure seems to feature a lot of scarcity.
How do you reward the loyal party member with food if food is readily avalible to all
It seems like the Democrats whole strategy is that if we just pay for everything with debt for long enough, someone will invent the warp drive and the Vulcans will reveal themselves and invite us to join the Federation.
Otherwise they would have an exit plan, right?
The basement's flooding!
Quick, start pouring water down the stairs - once it's full of water it can't flood any more.
Common-Sense 101....
If EVERY Politician and EVERY Nazi-Employee started creating goods and *EARNING* a living instead of stealing by Gov-Gun point whatever they wanted inflation would be fixed instantly and the wealth would skyrocket.
Wealth is created by produced goods NOT theft and dictation.
Yeah, and black is white and white is black. The Earth orbits the moon and the sun orbits the earth.. The day is dark and night is bright. Water is dry, and deserts are wet. Last but not least, more government spending will solve inflation.
Does inflation never presage a recession? Maybe watch the yield curve down the road since the left isn’t yielding.
Isn't this like plugging a hole in your sinking boat with water?
Nice.
