Brickbat: Chickie Run

Four District of Columbia police officers were injured and two patrol cars were totaled after the officers engaged in a drag race while on duty. "They decided to drag race each other on Anacostia Avenue at 5 p.m. in the evening," said Sixth District Commander Durriyyah Habeebullah. The officers have been placed on leave pending a full investigation of the incident.

Honing their offensive driving skills. There's a pandemic, anyway. The streets should be empty of civilians.
And nothing else happened.

Within a decade it will be camel races.
As in 'I don't know what WW III will be fought with, but IV will be with sticks on stones."
Seriously, what decent person would want to be a police officer in places like DC? I think we already know the answer to that rhetorical question, and it is only going to get worse.

But they are trained for high speed driving and other special driving techniques, that's why they're allowed to drive around using their cell phones in their patrol cars. Just because it appeared they were looking down at their phones long enough to miss the 3 cars running the red light and half of their own green light they were actually performing necessary work to protect the public. It wasn't candy crush, til Tok or text messages, they promise.
I got really bad Durriyyah the last time I ate Habeebullah.
More evidence for the justification of DC statehood.
Right, then they’ll need state troopers on top of the metro cops! And a whole new union for the staties! Why didn’t they think of this sooner?
I used to drag race all the time when I was a kid, never smashed up a car.
You didn't have the training and lightning-fast reflexes of a police officer.
Or maybe he was smart enough not to race in traffic. I don't know DC geography well, but it's a few square miles in the center of a vast urban agglomeration. Any street that isn't narrow or crooked, will get heavy traffic.
GIRL POWER! They forgot to mention that it was a black female cop. Selective reporting, as usual. If it was a white male, they would have published his photo and his address for BLM.
This is red meat for reason, but I am skeptical. The picture of the cars shows them facing in opposite directions, with damage that does not look severe enough to total the cars. I suspect there is more to the story.
