Brickbat: Explicit Bias

Shenandoah County, Virginia, Sheriff Timothy Carter has apologized to pastor Leon McCray after McCray was falsely arrested by deputies. McCray, who is black, called 911 after a white family attempted to dump a refrigerator on his property and attacked him when he tried to stop them. When deputies arrived, they spoke only to the family, then arrested McCray for brandishing a firearm. McCray says that what makes the arrest even more disturbing is that one of the deputies has known him for 20 years. Charges against McCray were later dropped, and the five family members are now facing charges that include assault, trespass and hate crimes. No word on whether the deputies will face any discipline.

McCray says that what makes the arrest even more disturbing is that one of the deputies has known him for 20 years.
Black or white, you are nothing to him. The only colors that matters are blue and not-blue. And arrest is the option of first resort.
Sounds to me like this IS one of the few instances where race was a factor, if the deputy ignored someone he'd known for 20 years and only talked to the white family. But I doubt race was the only factor, or even the biggest: I bet the white family got in the first 911 call and the deputies only knew their side of the story when they arrived.
Color-blind clingers are among my favorite culture war casualties.
Especially the clingers who are just trying to look out for poor, persecuted, straight white males who claim to be Christian.
Sounds to me like McCray is one of your "clingers". Pastor clinging to his bible and his gun. But then again, I don't doubt this won't change your opinion on anything.
Excellent response BillyG, but with this loser I think it's best to just ignore the bitter stupid bastard. Trolls loathe nothingness. It's where they go to die, hopefully where decent people won't have to smell them.
I quit working at shoprite to work online and with a little effort I easily bring in around $45 to 85 per/h. Without a doubt, this is the easiest and most financially rewarding job I've ever had.OSd I actually started 6 months ago and this has totally changed my life.

Exactly this. The cops here didn't care as much about race as they did about stopping the competition: can't have people defending themselves with guns; guns are bad for cops.
Seems to be more of a church rivalry thing than a race thing, at least between the family and the pastor. The family dumping the fridge look like Meth-odists.

Hate crime, or church donation?
Oh man, that’s cold.
Nope, wasn't plugged in.
I see it. What you did.
"No word on whether the deputies will face any discipline."
The supremes refused a QI case, so actually, there is a definitive word on that. The word is no.
Was the fridge white or black? Well? Well?
Avocado. A crime in itself.
If white, would it be considered white trash?
what side was the Carter family on in the War?
Considering that they were probably illegally dumping the fridge because they couldn't find a place that would take it without the refrigerant being properly reclaimed, I'm sure there's a federal crime involving the EPA and improper hazardous waste disposal in there somewhere. Multiple charges if you want to include conspiracy and transport and I'm sure half-a-dozen other little-known regulations concerning refrigerant disposal.
No less than three felonies, for just that day alone.
Remember that charges against McCray were later dropped, and the five family members are now facing charges that include assault, trespass and hate crimes. electricians northern va
