Brickbat: Who Says Romance Is Dead?

The Fayetteville, North Carolina, police department has fired detective Paul G. Matrafailo III after three alleged rape victims whose cases he worked on said he hit on them. One woman said that after Matrafailo found she was a nursing student he texted her asking if she wanted to practice on him. Another said he found her on Instagram even though her account doesn't have her name on it and began to message her. She said one message pointed to lingerie that was being sold on an Amazon link in her account and included a tongue emoji and a wink emoji. Matrafailo's employment file shows he was reprimanded in 2018 for sending offensive and inappropriate messages to forensic technicians.

Oh, look, it's Officer Friendly!
Are those cursed police unions finally dying? First the cop who shot the man whose home she thought was hers gets convicted of murder and now this Weinstein wannabe gets outright fired instead of getting paid vacation.
The unions must have forgotten to counsel these scumbags to say they felt threatened and that procedures were followed.
I can only hope their influence is waning and we’re entering a new era of accountability.
#ThemToo
I am making $92 an hour working from home. i was greatly surprised at the same time as my neighbour advised me she changed into averaging $ninety five however I see the way it works now.I experience masses freedom now that i'm my non-public boss. that is what I do......> http://earny.xyz/Ij0L12NO
That picture was selected to summon Tony.
That is impressive game. Dude thought married rape victim was fertile ground for getting laid.
The mind boggles....
Had he instead shot them while they were unarmed and no reasonable threat he'd still have his job.
One woman said that after Matrafailo found she was a nursing student he texted her asking if she wanted to practice on him.
That dude’s game is upper level.
We have all heard of Doctor Love.
This is Officer Love. He enjoys shooting unarmed people, adrenaline rushes, tazing his balls, qualified immunity, and having a double standard on stalking laws.
When did hitting on a woman become a crime?
Is it a crime because it creeped them out?
Or is there more to this that they're not showing?
Because this just looks like a guy who's a bit douchey hitting on someone.
And it all seems to have happened AFTER the cases were over.
"three alleged rape victims whose cases he worked"
No one said it was a crime. They said it was inappropriate enough to lose his job.
Hard to disagree, though you seem to think it is a-ok. You a police union advocate IRL?
It was conduct unbecoming, not a crime. The cops should have clear rules of separation between victims and themselves.
When did firing require a crime?
three alleged rape victims
Alleged victims of his creeping or victims of alleged rape?
Fine that he lost his job for such behavior, their prerogative, but "found her on Instagram even though her account doesn't have her name on it and began to message her. She said one message pointed to lingerie that was being sold on an Amazon link in her account and included a tongue emoji and a wink emoji." Sounds to me that this woman makes money getting varying degrees of naked on camera and could be the kind of person who enjoys getting hit on and alleging rape.
The story does NOT imply she was getting naked on camera. She sold ad space to Amazon, which decides what to put in it. Normally the site owner does not select or approve the ads.
I confess, I saw the image on the "Latest" page and came in to see if it was actually fun.
It was not.
The picture in the article doesn't do him justice. And I don't mean that in a good way.
He had no choice. He was in fear for his life.
Those ungreatfull bitches. This hero is just trying to help them through an ordeal by being a big strong man with a friendly cock for them to suck and they freak out and report him?
In a more serious vein, will they be able to sue him? Unless someone else has been found to have violated someones rights in the same way, he should get the old QI free pass (a la stealing 250k).
He thought he was the poyleece instead of the police. In a no-snitch neighborhood, a rape victim clearly needs someone to provide protection. That someone is normally a new boyfriend.
Speaking of police misconduct:
Over 700 members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard shot live fire at Iraqi demonstrators. There were demonstrators who were killed including men, women and children. The Iranians even went as far as burning a 2-year-old child in a car with her father.
And look out for that French IT guy in the police station.
Here is the report from Paris.
