Brickbat: Take a Bite Out of Crime

A Marion County, Indiana, sheriff's deputy went to a TV station to accuse workers at a local McDonald's of taking a bite of his chicken sandwich because he is a cop. But the sheriff's office now says he was mistaken. "I went to the McDonald's and talked to the supervisor," the deputy, who wasn't identified by name, told the station. "She offered me some free food I didn't care anything about. I just wanted to find out who the person was and they deal with that person in an appropriate way." But after an investigation, the sheriff's office released a statement saying the deputy took a bite out of the sandwich before starting his shift then placed it in a break room refrigerator. When he came back hours later to heat his meal and eat it, he'd forgotten he'd taken the bite.

Ain't play'n chicken here, I wanna know who masticated on my sammich.
And this person is allowed to carry a gun?
And testify in court?
The next time he does, I'm sure the defense will bring this up.
Photographic memory I tell y'all. Never forget anything. Now what was I talking about again?
"I don't want a large Farva.... I want a GODDAMN LITRE O COLA!"
Qualified immunity. The policeman was never trained that you have to remember taking a bite out of your sandwich before you put it in the refrigerator.
SCOTUS likes your approach.
Typical cop blowing things all out of proportion only to discover that the problem is in his head.
deal with that person in an appropriate way.
Please elaborate on what that might entail.
First, you shoot his/her dog. Then deploy Taser for rushing to the dog's aid "aggressively" on a tangent "toward the officer" with a "deadly" spatula in hand. Finally, unload S&W 45 clip for urinating on shiny jackboots in response to Taser, with 2+ rounds striking perp.
You forgot asset forfeiting the house, car, TV, computer and any jewelry.
2 rounds hitting the perp? From a single clip? Nobody's going to believe that.
Why a good ass pistol whippin' and a few nights in jail will probably convince them.
The TV segment took the claim at face value and had the cop speak anonymously, with that mechanical voice-changer thing like he was the eyewitness to a Mafia hit. One of the talent in the studio said "it seems unbelievable, but it actually happened."

Is Reason making this up? It's completely unbelievable that a cop actually admitted he was wrong.
Technically the article doesn't say the officer admitted to being wrong. It says the department investigated and determined the officer was wrong. Not the same thing.
In his defense they do spit in his food. Every time.
What's worse than biting into an apple and finding a worm?
.
.
.
Biting into an apple and finding half a worm.
If you're going to be in the LEO business you're gonna have to learn to enjoy foreign mastication juices in your stomach.
Well who does not take a bite out of the sandwich before putting it in the refrigerator? Am I the only one who does that?
Like a single bite? That's kind of stupid, wouldn't you at least take a few bites, ya know, for lunch and shit...
And at least a handful of the fries.
Well in the cops defense, at least he didn't shoot anyone.
Was the bite matched to the Deputy's teeth???
