John Bolton Threatens Iran With 'Unrelenting Force'
Plus: Texas bartender charged for serving alcohol to shooter, Cory Booker proposes a federal gun-licensing scheme, and more...

"The United States is not seeking war with the Iranian regime, but." So says a not-so-reassuring Sunday statement from National Security Advisor John Bolton.
Call it what you will, but it sure seems like Bolton and the Trump administration are trying to entangle us in another dick-swinging Middle Eastern military adventure.
The U.S. is sending a bomber task force and a Carrier Strike Group toward Iran, according to the statement. Bolton called it a way to send an "unmistakable message" that if the wrong people do something we don't like (to anybody), "the Iranian regime" will "be met with unrelenting force."
Ahhh, there's that sociopathic old "America: World Police" spirit that Bolton perfected during the George W. Bush years.
Invoking increasing tensions between Iran and the U.S., Bolton said "we are fully prepared to respond to any attack, whether by proxy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps or regular Iranian forces."
As White House Reporter Andrew Feinberg (and many others) have pointed out, "the US has pretty much constantly had a carrier on station in that area since the 1980s," so the fact that it's being sent there is pretty much business as usual. The fact that Bolton felt the need to put out a belligerent statement about it isn't.

Bartenders in Texas must now be clairvoyant if they want to avoid criminal charges. At least that's the message the state seems to be sending with the arrest of 27-year-old Lindsey Glass, who served drinks to a man named Spencer Hight before he went on a shooting spree that killed eight people. Glass has been charged with a misdemeanor for violating a Texas ban on selling alcohol "to an habitual drunkard or an intoxicated or insane person."

The Wall Street Journal takes a somber look at newspapers in the U.S. "Local papers have suffered sharper declines in circulation than national outlets and greater incursions into their online advertising businesses from tech giants such as Alphabet Inc.'s Google and Facebook Inc," the paper reports.
The result has been a parade of newspaper closures and large-scale layoffs. Nearly 1,800 newspapers closed between 2004 and 2018, leaving 200 counties with no newspaper and roughly half the counties in the country with only one, according to a University of North Carolina study.
Meanwhile, about 400 online-only local news sites have sprung up to fill the void, disproportionately clustered in big cities and affluent areas, the UNC study found.

Hello.
Democrats are nanny control freak retards with tyrannical and retard ideas.
Change my mind.
The Democrats - fighting for slavery since 1776.
I have a suspicion this came from the teetotaler Baptists and Church of Christ evangelists. At least Mormons don't judge you openly, unlike the other two that tell you you're going to hell.
I suppose if they enforce this rule most of the commentariat cannot be served alcohol in Texas.
drinkin' *after* shootin'.
It will be easier once we tattoo "drunkard" or "insane" on people's faces.
I don't know about anyone else, but I wouldn't try to not serve a drink to the guy spinning the giant knife on the bar. They are pissed that she didn't call the police, which, of course, isn't her job.
But hey, at least she gets paid while they investigate her and a giant pension to retire on if this gig doesn't work out for her, right? Right?

I wonder if fatasses will be able to sue Hostess and McDonalds for their 'beetus, considering that obesity and heart disease kills more people than firearms in this country by orders of magnitude.
Soon, police officers and prosecutors will be the only Americans who can't be sued for the consequences of their actions.
Or inactions.

Top Dem: Obama team compiling ‘information about everything on every individual’
Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., believes that the 2016 Democratic nominee has a good chance to win because President Obama’s campaign team has been compiling a database about the American people containing “information about everything on every individual on ways that it’s never been done before.”
“The president has put in place an organization that contains the kind of database that no one has ever seen before in life,” Waters said during an interview with Roland Martinlast week, referring to Organizing for Action’s research. “That database will have information about everything on every individual on ways that it’s never been done before and whoever runs for President on the Democratic ticket has to deal with that.”
Or, Obama is using the dark data web to electioneer our democracy away.
"And since we're not getting security threats right, we might as well focus on narcing on stoners."
Low hanging fruit.
"Booker wants all gun owners to get federal approval."
This is an excellent idea. And as longtime libertarian activist Michael Hihn has noted, it would be perfectly Constitutional.

Yes, by god, and then require federal licenses for owning a "press", which in the modern era includes any digital device capable of composing and distributing words.
You must believe in the "living Constitution". The Originalist interpretation would be that the First Amendment protects only the freedom to use hand-operated flatbed presses.
"You can grow it here, you can have six plants which actually is a lot," says Will Jones of the group Smart Approaches to Marijuana.
Any statement that begins by arbitrarily declaring for others how much of something they need is not going to end well.
Everyone else is calling Jones a nerd for saying 6 is a lot.

Wonderful people down there.
I think we all knew it was a matter of time before they went after George Washington.
https://www.thecollegefix.com/high-school-may-erase-george-washington-murals-traumatizes-students/
Never give in to their demands and always nip things in the bud.
And for the love of God NEVER apologize to these psychos.
There is no history before Our Betters arrived. History began with them. No history, no tradition, no meaningful written law - we get nothing but Them.
The fact that George Washington-- deserves A LOT of the credit for the USA still being here and the 50 Colonies having a footnote in British history about how Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Franklin were all hanged as traitors to the Crown-- is lost on these dum-dum Lefties.
Soave assured us that only "bad" statues and racist Democrat Civil War generals would be removed.
The Lunatics of the Left would never go after George Washington. NEVER!
He also assured me that Trump was a lunatic for claiming they would be going after George Washington next.
The Lefties really do not care that they are lobbing softballs for Trump to be correct so much.
Here's a softball lobbed at Trump this morning:
What if Trumps loses but won't leave?
Bailey also claimed during the Charlottesville kerfuffle that he would speak out of and when this happened.
Of course he also was completely full of shit; he isn’t going to say dick.
And the mural is attacked even though, as one defender of the murals is quoted as saying, the artist was a communist.
The mural was done by a communist hoping to show how evil Washington was. The fact that these people want it taken down despite being on the communist's side shows just how far into the primative the left has devolved. It doesn't matter what the message of the mural is. The mural contains an evil magic image that must be removed. These people are terrifyingly stupid.
These people make Forrest look smart.
Sorry, the first line (that disappeared) said
"insert Forrest Gump quote here"
I just though you meant like the old saying as dumb as a tree and you were just using the plural for multiple people being stupid as a tree
The artwork on the mural is fantastic, but I do love the irony that a protégé of that fat Commie piece of shit Diego Rivera is about to have his work disappeared by neo-Bolsheviks.
If you like your mural, you can keep it. Period.
I watched VICEs coverage of the riot in Charlottesville and it revealed something interesting. They broadcast one of the breathless counter-protesters they interviewed making a comment about the "statue of the master" that looks down on them from the UVA campus. That would of course be the statue of Jefferson, who founded the college. The narrative that they were just counter-protesting the statue of Robert E Lee is evidence of naivete or collusion on the part of the media.
The progressive crowd will not be happy until the legacy of the founders is rewritten. Which of course is a page right out of the Stalinist handbook. But I am sure they are the good kind of socialists like Tony and not the bad kind.
President Trump upended what appeared to be steady progress toward reaching a trade pact...
If the China-men want it, it's not good for America!
Says the lying media that hate everything Trump does.
Of course, I believe the media... that the renegotiating of trade policy that they fought against, they are now for it and Trump fucked up the whole thing.
Thanks Trump.
As if the Mueller Report didn't already discredit #TrumpRussia denialists, Cenk Uygur provides more evidence our government is effectively controlled by Russia.
For people saying @realDonaldTrump is not taking orders from Russia, Trump coming out of call w/ Putin & changing his language on Russia involvement in Venezuela is not good. If you say that’s not at least some evidence against your position that would seem to be obvious bias.
Of course Rachel Maddow had this figured out over 2 years ago.

That administration really knew how to deport people without getting hassled.

Can you believe the world isn’t screaming about the fact that Trump talked to Putin about Mueller but refused to talk to Mueller about Putin? Which country is 45 loyal to? What oath did 45 take?
Anyone who continues to deny #TrumpRussia is either deluded or a liar. The White House is currently occupied by a literal intelligence asset of a hostile foreign power. Now that Mueller has conclusively proved this, all patriotic Americans must demand impeachment.

"What does the good professor have to say about the JFK assassination..."

That was an inside job. Lindbergh was a monster.
The Lindbergh baby grew up and shot JFK.

"President Trump upended what appeared to be steady progress toward reaching a trade pact after he threatened on Sunday to impose still more tariffs on Chinese-made goods unless Beijing moves closer to a deal"
Rational outlook:
In reaction to this, the S&P 500 opened around 1.5% down a few minutes ago.
Futures on Chinese indexes are down around an average of 6%.
This threat is hurting China far more than the U.S., and is likely to put more pressure on China to conclude a trade agreement in negotiations that were set to resume on Wednesday.
Political Outlook:
Emperor Xi may not be subject to election concerns, but he is always concerned about the prospects of social unrest and being replaced by his own party. He cannot afford to be seen as capitulating to Trump and USA. It would threaten his leadership in all sorts of ways.
Meanwhile, Trump's personality and reelection calculations are such that he probably doesn't care whether he wins a trade war with China so much as he gets to gloat. I wish Trump would take what China's offering at this point and declare victory, but I'm not sure Trump has it in him. Winning may require Trump not to gloat, but, like the old fable about the scorpion and the frog, gloating is in Trump's nature.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Scorpion_and_the_Frog
It is unfortunate that the US is a position where capitalists need to support someone like Trump, who may well be putting his own ego and reelection chances ahead of the interests of the economy, because he's running against a list of Democrat candidates, who are endorsing the authoritarian socialism inherent in the Green New Deal, but that's where we are.
I hope Trump's negotiations with China are wildly successful and he's reelected as president.
didn't you get the memo Ken? You are not supposed to hope for good things to happen for the country unless it confirms your world view. Otherwise, people are supposed to be punished for their sinful ways of not recognizing your genius.
I'm sure there are lots of people out there who are hoping the U.S. economy tanks just so it hurts Trump's chances of being reelected. In all honesty, I think I might be patriotic. I love this country and the American people, and I want them to do well. I suppose I should be ridiculed for that. These days, patriotism may be even more socially unacceptable than Christianity or picking my nose.
Patrtiotism. What a quiant notion.
What actually happens in the 21st century US is way less important than signaling.
If you are China and you have half a brain, you can get whatever you want. All they have to do is come out praising how great Trump is and how great a job he did.
Trump will return the praise with interest. They'll get a deal done and Trump won't much worry about the details.
Of course, he'll go back on the deal the first time he gets a bug in his ear. That's how he rolls.... no deal is ever done. Even after the contract is signed and the goods are delivered. That just means you have more leverage to get a better deal.
Yeah, Trump has a different, shady view of "commerce".
Remind me again how the banks and credit card companies are private and thus their actions against the wrong sort of person is perfectly fine.
Sweden is going cashless
If you've been following progressive causes.. and I know you have... you'll know that this has been an objective of the statists (of both stripes) for quite some time - at least since the 90's. All transactions fully tracked, eliminating the black market economy (and tax avoidance). And the greatest lever for controlling the populace ever invented.
Obama decided to skip that step and go straight after the banks. It seems to be having the desired effect so far.
""And the greatest lever for controlling the populace ever invented.""
They can also use it for economic control where the government can charge you more or less on your money in the bank depending if they want you to spend or save. Need to stimulate the economy, force people to spend else take their money via fees or taxes if they don't.
More bad economic news.

Time for some "expert economists" with exceptional availability bias, negativity bias, and just plain agenda bias to weigh in. Where's Krugman?
Krugman already wrote an article on the topic. It was appropriately Krugmanish.
Which I can't find now... so maybe I just read someone smushing that article and a Krugman article together. Whatever. Either way, they (economists) still don't know jack.
But most of it is likely fear. Mr. Barr made real news in that Senate hearing, and while the press didn’t notice, Democrats did. The attorney general said he’d already assigned people at the Justice Department to assist his investigation of the origins of the Trump-Russia probe. He said his review would be far-reaching—that he was obtaining details from congressional investigations, from the ongoing probe by the department’s inspector general, Michael Horowitz, and even from Mr. Mueller’s work. Mr. Barr said the investigation wouldn’t focus only on the fall 2016 justifications for secret surveillance warrants against Trump team members but would go back months earlier.
He also said he’d focus on the infamous “dossier” concocted by opposition-research firm Fusion GPS and British former spy Christopher Steele, on which the FBI relied so heavily in its probe. Mr. Barr acknowledged his concern that the dossier itself could be Russian disinformation, a possibility he described as not “entirely speculative.” He also revealed that the department has “multiple criminal leak investigations under way” into the disclosure of classified details about the Trump-Russia investigation.
Do not underestimate how many powerful people in Washington have something to lose from Mr. Barr’s probe. Among them: Former and current leaders of the law-enforcement and intelligence communities. The Democratic Party pooh-bahs who paid a foreign national (Mr. Steele) to collect information from Russians and deliver it to the FBI. The government officials who misused their positions to target a presidential campaign. The leakers. The media. More than reputations are at risk. Revelations could lead to lawsuits, formal disciplinary actions, lost jobs, even criminal prosecution.

From her lips to God's ear.
Booker wants all gun owners to get federal approval.
2A: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
All gun laws are unconstitutional, especially INTRASTATE gun sales and ownership restrictions.
The INTERSTATE Commerce Clause is the only potential means to regulate guns across state lines and the 2nd Amendment specifically prohibits that.
It is worth remembering that had Hillary won, she would have replaced Scalia and Kennedy with anti gun justices who would have overturned Heller.
But remember, there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats and it is up to those with principles to stand aside and let the Democrats win.
The left doing horrible things can be used to scare up donor money. The left needs power to do that.
"The Economy That Wasn’t Supposed to Happen: Booming Jobs, Low Inflation"
[...]
"Not that long ago, the overwhelming consensus among economists would have been that you couldn’t have a 3.6 percent unemployment rate without also seeing the rate of job creation slowing (where are new workers going to come from with so few out of work, after all?) and having an inflation surge (a worker shortage should mean employers bidding up wages, right?).
And yet that is what has happened, with the April employment numbers putting an exclamation point on the trend. The jobless rate receded to its lowest level in five decades...
[...]
After more than two years of the Trump administration, warnings that trade wars and erratic management style would throw the economy off course have proved wrong so far, and tax cuts and deregulation are most likely part of the reason for the strong growth rates in 2018 and the beginning of 2019..."

That's an NYT feed!
The NYT admits Trump is not the end of the world as we know it!
You mean the Phillips curve might be bullshit? I thought the science was settled. Wow, I wonder if any other macro economic dogma might be bullshit or things not quite as simple as the dogma claims?
Most big picture economics is really just just being a historian of the economy.
Its why laughing at Krugman is so much fun. That guy thinks he understands how the economy works.
I look around and the inflation I see isn't that low. Everything is going up faster than it has in at least 15 years.
The numbers say otherwise. Unless you can make the case the people compiling them are lying, I don't see how you can't believe them.
The perception of inflation depends on what you spend your money on. The inflation numbers are heavily skewed towards prices of what low income people consider luxury items. If the price of rice and beans is skyrocketing and rents are going up, but iPhones, Roombas, and hobby drones are holding steady or dropping, then the inflation index might look great.
Let's just say that everything at the grocery store keeps creeping up. For years and years prices on most things held steady, now everything from meat to cat food to cleaning products is higher now than it was 6 months ago which was higher than it was 6 months before that. Prices at a place like Home Depot are steadily rising. When I shop for shit online, a thing I had bookmarked that maybe I'd want to get was $299 last year, now it's $349. Everywhere I look I see prices creeping up. I do not see any prices falling anywhere for anything.
Unless you can make the case the people compiling them are lying
Isn't that what government statisticians do? All I know is that prices for everything are going up across the board faster than I've seen them rise since 2000.
Don't Let the Woke Scolds Ruin Cinco de Mayo
How dare you hombres have a good conversation around here on Sunday!
I thought this new format and the continuing shitty writing by non-Libertarian reason staff, had pushed all good commenters away.
Interesting data on Trump that came out in a WSJ/NBC poll:
"A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll shows that 51% of Americans disapprove of [Trump's] overall job performance, while 46% approve . . . . The same percentage of Americans who disapprove of Mr. Trump also say they approve of his handling of the economy, at 51%. Just 41% disapprove.
. . . .
One of the biggest gaps between Mr. Trump’s overall performance and his handling of the economy was a 10-point spread among independents. Those voters are generally more likely to consider the candidate instead of the party. Just 38% of them said they approve of Mr. Trump while 48% said they approve of his handling of the economy.
https://www.wsj.com/articles/voter-approval-rising-for-trumps-handling-of-the-economy-11557061201
Here's why that's so interesting:
Approval ratings are funny because they're relative to nobody. Trump's approval ratings were lower when he beat Hillary Clinton in 2016. Put Trump up against someone specific, and he's likely to do better than he does against some unknown fantasy candidate in people's heads.
Meanwhile, when measured against some fantasy candidate in people's heads, more independents credit Trump with his handling of the economy than approve of his job performance as a whole. That 48% that approve of his handling of the economy is up from 39% in 2017.
I suspect people will vote with their pocketbooks, when it comes down to it, and if the election were held today, Trump would probably do better with independents and swing voters than he did in 2016.
I see Trump as the yin to the Obama yang. Obama was the first black President and people felt tremendous social pressure to approve of him personally. So his approval numbers were always good. Meanwhile, Obama presided over the biggest deterioration in Democratic office holding since reconstruction. People clearly didn't approve of his policies but didn't feel they could take it out on him. So, they took it out on other Democrats.
Trump is the opposite. People feel tremendous social pressure to "disaprove" of Trump. So his approval ratings are never that high. But people like his policies. The proof of that is the Republicans picking up two Senate seats and losing less than average number of seats in the House in the midterms.
Yeah, I think people will be voting for Trump regardless of what they tell pollsters about how much they "approve" or "disaprove" of him.
Theory would say you are right .... but I'll point to President Romney as the counter example.
No president in history got re-elected with an economy that bad. "It's the economy, stupid!" didn't work at all in that election. I'll credit the propaganda machine to a great extent - they spent the entire term telling us how great the economy was doing as they reported 10% unemployment numbers.... But you gotta hang some of that on "there's no telling what the hell people are thinking".
Romeny lost because he never differentiated himself from Obama. So a lot of people just stayed home. Obama is the only President in history to be re-elected with fewer votes than he was elected with.
Romney is the first candidate in history to take a dive in a debate. Must have had some money on the other guy....
No president in history got re-elected with an economy that bad.
FDR was re-elected in an economy that was much worse.
One of the problems of the Democrats is that Trump has stolen their bread and butter issues to the point that they had to invent new (extreme) ones just to differentiate themselves.
Trump is seen as xenophobic and misogynistic, and, so, yeah, it's unseemly to approve of someone's job performance when they're seen like that.
On the other hand, unskilled workers haven't had it so good since the 1960s--and they know it. If he delivers a trade deal with China by early June and passes an $2 trillion infrastructure deal, his reelection will be as sure as it can be this far out.
If he's having orgies in the Oval Office with interns, all bets are off, but other than that, . . .
I think Trump can play orgies with interns to his benefit. The dude is like 90-something or whatever. And he already survived the Stormy Daniels thing.
Actually acting his age might get him in more trouble than acting like a trust-fund 20-something year old frat boy.
More good economic news. DOW Jones at 26,206.
Dow drops more than 350 points after staring at 19,827 on Jan 20, 2017
Obama started Jan 20, 2009 with a DOW at 8,281.
W. Bush started around 10,659.
Wait...Trump's policies had the DOW move 7,000 points up in only 2.5 years and Obama only had gains of 11,500 in 8 years?
"Trump’s policies had the DOW move 7,000 points up in only 2.5 years and Obama only had gains of 11,500 in 8 years?"
Remember that Obo started at historic lows, and in spite of his best efforts, the economy grew anyhow. Turd is here to pick that cherry about every week.
Trump's growth stared at historic highs.
Curmudgeonly rant of the day:
NBC news broke in to regularly scheduled programming with a Special Report this morning. Prince Harry and his wife have had a baby! Live satellite reporting, including interviews of British TV reporters by NBC's morning headliner Savannah Guthrie.
OK.... if you are an American news organization and you believe that the fact that a member of the British royal family had a baby is newsworthy to the level of breaking in to regular programming with a live news special... just quite right now. Hand in your credentials, it is too late for you. This is America. We don't do royalty. We don't believe there is anything special about "royal blood". A few of their ancestors were warlords who were successful enough at holding territory by force that they became enshrined as royal when feudalism ended. That is all.
I'll grant that you guys made a ton of money covering Charles and Diana back in the 80's, and again when Diana went out partying with some rich dude and got killed in a car crash. But now it is time to stop it.
This is every bit as dumb as covering Kim Kardashian having a baby with live break-in coverage. No, it is dumber.... KK and Kanye are more famous in the US. And at least that is defensible because they actually did something to earn their notoriety. Even if one of them earned it by being a no-talent tramp. And the other one made a sex tape.
Ok, rant off. And maybe someone can fix up that Kanye joke at the end there. The joke is right, but the setup needs work.
Harry isn't even the crown prince. After Middleton dropped a couple of kids, Harry became just another upper class twit. And who ever heard of Megan Markle before she married him?
Ok... I said rant off... but I lied. I got more:
If you, as an American citizen, are desperately interested in these royals and follow their lives with excitement... please, hand in your voter registration card. You do not understand America, our history or our system of government well enough to have any involvement in selecting our leaders. In fact, please refrain from offering any advice on politics to anyone as well. You are a cancer sore on the American body politic.
you haven't encountered enough Kennedy fans I see...
"you haven’t encountered enough Kennedy fans I see…"
Standing O!
But many (most?) Americans seem to desire a "strong leader", aka authoritarian president with imperial powers. I suspect reverance for royalty might be hard-wired into the common people.
Strong leader is fine. Inheritance of a divine right is another thing entirely.
"Even if one of them earned it by being a no-talent tramp. And the other one made a sex tape. "
Ok, I'll admit that I was a little annoyed by your grumpy ramblings (even though I agree)… then I read that part. Well done, sir.
It was a long way to go to take a gratuitous dump on Kanye West, I'll admit....
I called and emailed my complaint about this "SEPCIAL ANNOUNCEMENT" I though gee did trump finally shoot the media or what but no it was another royal baby, not the first not the last just another baby by someone i don't give a shit, hell my Sister had four babies they never broke into the news for that.
What word? Censorship? What Fascbook and Twatter are doing is censorship, by definition. Censorship doesn't have to come from the government to be censorship.
Liz is too dumb to even know how to make a sandwich.
Uh... can I get a sammich? I mean, as long as we're makin' sammiches....
This is true. And if they want the freedom to censor, they should be declared publishers and assume the responsibility that comes with that by losing their immunity from suit.
Isn't it the other way around though? They are getting fined, lost or don't have immunity in different parts of the globe and want to censor as protection from suit or fines.
What we are seeing is American freedoms of speech running up against the lack of that freedom in other countries.
I would like to see Zuckerberg et al, say they value freedom of speech and if a particular country doesn't support it they will pull their platform from that country.
They are claiming to be "common carriers" or equivalent - i.e. not responsible for the content posted by 3rd parties.
But they are taking responsibility for that content by denying access based solely on content. And not "obscene or threatening" content, nor even "violates our terms of service" content... but straight up "we disagree with your political views" content. That should put them squarely in the cross-hairs for lawsuits when people are defamed or other content-based problems.
Local newspapers, yeah. No surprise there. They make their money off of ads. They're only as strong as local main street businesses.
It's a sad thing, but it's not a bad thing. Town criers are gone too. Some papers will remain, but they'll probably have to go to subscription service.
>>>"You can share it with people. If you want to do it, have fun. Grow it, use it, great. It's legal. But to say that we should allow commercial industry, that's a step too far."
i love this dude.
have to wonder what his angle is. is he just concerned about it getting out of control, or is there some interest (fiscal, political, etc.) in not allowing a robust commercial industry (which would provide competition, lower prices, improve quality, etc.)?? maybe the existing black market benefits him in some way??
growing untaxed plants and sharing w/your friends is what tha'green should be all about?
perhaps you should read that linked article about the bartender serving the mass killer before claiming that she needed to be "clairvoyant". a guy who's stumbling, twirling a hunting knife, and talking about 'taking care of business' is in a pretty messed up state to be going right ahead and serving him more. if he'd gone out and wrecked his car (and hurt no one else), she'd face the same charge - unless the local story was sensationalized, it was irresponsible to serve him. this is not a nanny government issue. this is a business knowing when not to pour fuel on a fire. she knew him by name - probably could have gotten a buddy to get him and pour him into bed, and then nothing happens.
"That word…I do not think it means what you think it means"
which word?? he seems to misuse a lot of them in that tweet. "censorship" "citizens" "freedom of speech" to begin with.
Uber and Lyft should just make it so the drivers can set their own per-mile rates, and let the free market decide who gets hired and who doesn't
John Bolton threatens
You do realize that Iran has been threatening to shut down the Strait to everyone. the U.S. will need to step in if so and If not I can already here Reason whining about why wasn't the U.S. prepared for this since Iran has been upping it threat game
John Bolton Threatens Iran With 'Unrelenting Force'
Dragonborn: FUS RO DAH!!!
"Uber and Lyft drivers are going on strike this Wednesday in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco."
The strikers do realize that just means more money for those not participating in the strike, right? And pissing off the customers who are paying more? Not sure this is going to work out as they intended. Also not sure they have more than five people actually involved in the 'strike'.
Quite a few Uber and Lyft drivers are also taxi drivers. They just use the apps to fill in slow times.
Notice its only a strike in major cities and not company wide.
The barrier to entry should be fairly low - how hard is it to set up an app and a server? The only problem is getting the word out. And if you really have the solidarity of all of the drivers in Chicago, I'd say you are 90% of the way there. If conditions are that bad, start your own company and beat the other two rideshare companies out.
Trump would have been charged with obstruction were he not president, hundreds of former federal prosecutors assert
Haha. These fucking Lefties retards.
I often am threatened with obstruction of justice when AS NOT THE PRESIDENT, I fire the FBI Director and get to influence US foreign policy.
Dick-swinging. Nice one, ENB.
