You'd think that officials in Australia's Northern Territory would be happy that a slogan promoting tourism there had gone viral. But the Darwin City Council has voted to ban the sale at markets on public property of any merchandise with that very slogan: "CU in the NT." Officials say the slogan is immature and offensive.

Fun fact: the only person I have known to blow up and be massively triggered by the C word was an Australian man who was orherwise pretty much a hard-drinking, hard-barbecuing, Aussie "bloke" who didn't mind a brawl now and then when he was tanked. Kinda weird. He was a pretty nice dude in general, but until that day I figured "cunt" was a term of endearment among Aussies.

True story: It is puerile and offensive. But there are worse slogans out there being sold on t-shirts and hemp bags. Sheesh. The city government has no right to be banning the sale shirts and bumper stickers because they are a bit on the edgy side.
