Democrats Did Better Than Early Election Results Revealed: Reason Roundup
Plus: The FDA will ban flavored e-cigarette sales at most places, and Chris Christie is being floated as Jeff Sessions' replacement.

The Republican seats that might not be. Much-watched midterm races in Arizona, Florida, and Georgia have still not produced definitive winners. And things could get ugly.
Authorities in these states are still tallying up absentee, overseas, and provisional ballots. A few positions that seemed sure to go to Republicans on election night are now swinging toward the Democratic candidates. And potential losers on both sides are suggesting some funny business among ballot counters.
FLORIDA
"Florida has retained the championship belt for election shenanigans," writes Matthew Zeitlin. There are no more chads to hang (the state uses pen and paper voting now), but Floridians are still awaiting results on who will be the state's governor, Republican Ron DeSantis or Democrat Andrew Gillum, as well as who will be elected to the U.S. Senate and several state offices.
"DeSantis seemed on Tuesday night to have won," notes The New York Times:
Mr. Gillum, the mayor of Tallahassee, conceded shortly before The Associated Press called the race for Mr. DeSantis on Tuesday night, when he was ahead by more than a percentage point. But the margin of victory has since shrunk to 0.44 points—small enough to require a machine recount under Florida law—and there were still ballots to count.
As far as the Senate seat goes,
just 15,175 votes were separating the front-runner, Gov. Rick Scott, a Republican, from the Democratic incumbent, Senator Bill Nelson, on Thursday evening, out of more than eight million cast. At just 0.18 percentage points, Mr. Scott's margin had become so narrow that a more thorough manual recount is required.
At a press conference yesterday, Scott accused Florida Democrats of "rampant fraud," though he offered no particular evidence to support this. He promised to file lawsuits against officials in Broward and Palm Beach counties, saying, "No ragtag group of liberal activists or lawyers from D.C. will be allowed to steal this election from the voters of this great state." In a late-Thursday filing in federal court, Scott demanded an immediate hearing.
President Trump (see tweet above) and Marco Rubio also joined in the accusations:
Palm Beach and Broward are the two largest counties in Florida, and officials there are still tallying mail-in and provisional ballots. Like all Florida counties, they have until noon on Saturday to submit unofficial totals and are not violating reporting requirements.
"The goal here is to see that all the votes in Florida are counted and counted accurately," said a statement from the Nelson campaign. "Rick Scott's action appears to be politically motivated and borne out of desperation."
GEORGIA
The winner of Georgia's gubernatorial race is still a puzzle. As of last night, Republican Brian Kemp was beating Democrat Stacey Abrams by around 63,000 votes and "had 50.3 percent of the total, according to an unofficial tally by the Georgia secretary of state's office—which Mr. Kemp headed throughout the campaign," The New York Times reports.
Kemp just resigned as secretary of state, ignoring "calls throughout the campaign to step aside from a post that made him the supervisor of an election in which he was a candidate." Faced with a federal lawsuit, he finally offered his resignation yesterday.
"Abrams's campaign insists that when all the votes are counted, Mr. Kemp's share may yet fall below 50 percent, which under Georgia law would require a runoff in early December," the Times notes. Georgia Democrats are asking courts to extend absentee-ballot voting for a county caught in Hurricane Michael's crosshairs, and "lawyers elsewhere are scrutinizing the methods some counties used to reject absentee ballots." They argue that ballots should be counted as long as they were postmarked by election day and arrive by Friday.
ARIZONA
In Arizona, the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Jeff Flake is still being contested by Democrat Kyrsten Sinema and Republican Martha McSally. As of Thursday, Sinema had a slight lead.
ELSEWHERE
As of Thursday afternoon, news outlets had yet to project winners in 17 House or Senate races, notes FiveThirtyEight:
These races have the potential to meaningfully change the narrative around this election—for example, Democrats could pick up 42 House seats instead of 29, or turn a disappointing showing in the Senate into a draw….
As things stand right now, Republicans have picked up two seats in the Senate, but that net gain could be anywhere from zero to three when the races in Arizona, Florida and Mississippi get resolved.
In Mississippi, "the special U.S. Senate election…will proceed to a runoff on Nov. 27 as none of the candidates secured 50 percent of the vote on Tuesday." Republican Cindy Hyde-Smith is projected to win over Democrat Mike Espy.
Two U.S. House races that were too close to call until later yesterday ultimately went in Democrats' favor. Democrat Lucy McBath beat Republican Rep. Karen Handel—by what's looking like less than 1 percentage point—in Georgia. And Democrat Kim Schrier was projected winner in Washington state's 8th District.
A close House-seat election in North Carolina was called for Republican Mark Harris.

War on vaping. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) plans to treat e-cigarettes and other vaping devices more strictly than it does actual cigarettes. Under upcoming FDA rules reported by NBC, the agency will ban all flavored e-cigs and vaping products from being sold except in stores specifically devoted to tobacco or vaping.

Well, thanks for waiting until after this could be put on a campaign donation mailer, 9th Circuit!

Somehow I doubt that Chris Christie's mass per unit of volume is less than or equal to that of water.
Fat is less dense than water.
^This. The rise in obesity is nature's response to climate change. When our lands are flooded, the fat will survive.
Plus storing fat in our bodies is a form of carbon capture. So, win-win.
Its good to see that Christie can really bring the libertarian community together in disgust.

Yeah, that protest wasn't mindless at all.
That's pretty funny.
Liberals protesting Session's firing shows how divorced from principles they have become. They should be applauding his firing.
TDS causes some strange behaviors for sure.
They are not protesting because they love Sessions. They are protesting because this is a move by Trump to get rid of Mueller.
Or to use the Executive branch to investigate federal criminals since the Democrat House wont help him do anything.

Remember Max Headroom? Wasn't he an AI news anchor? Or was he a video jockey like Reason's own film critic?
Either way, that was a long time ago--late 80s or early 90s, I think.
IIRC, in the show he was in fact an anchor. Or at least a reporter of some sort. And, I think, also hosted videos.
And that was before Loder!
Max Headroom was a virtual upload of a report's mind that...didn't go quite right. More like a rogue computer virus with sentience than a 'reporter'. The human was a reporter though.
I thought I remembered him sort of moving back into the reporting gig after going AI, but I haven't seen the show since it first aired so my memories of it are quite vague.
Finding that show to buy the whole run is...very difficult to impossible. Just one of those weird things, I guess. A buddy of mine bought the whole series from a shady internet dealer and we watched it not that long ago, but the plot...doesn't really make a whole lot of sense.
It is the show, or one of them, that successfully predicted the Internet even while they were a little wrong on what form it would actually take.

WATCH: Rubio Shares Video Allegedly Showing Ballots Transported In Private Cars
"This video, posted by an Independent Cong candidate in 18 (who was endorsed by Bernie Sanders in 16) purports to show Broward County ballots being transported from polling places in private cars," Rubio tweeted late on Thursday. "Has anyone in local media looked into this claim or asked elections dept about it?"
"Concerned citizen sees ballots being transported in private vehicles & transferred to rented truck on Election night," Canova wrote in his tweet that contained the video. "This violates all chain of custody requirements for paper ballots."
Florida Official Overseeing Vote Count Destroyed Ballots, Accused of Not Removing Dead Voters from Rolls
Broward County Board of Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes is in charge of vote counting in the area and has yet to disclose how many ballots are still not counted despite the election for governor and Senate occurring two days ago.
How is destroying ballots not a criminal offense with mandatory jail time?
"What you talkin' bout, "destroying"? We ended up with more than we started with!"
Mitosis is a completely natural process.
It's OK as long as the Democrat wins
Translation:
"How many uncounted ballot do you have?"
"How many do we need?"
I am stunned that in these races where the GOP candidate had a slight lead, further counting over the last few days is showing that it was the Democrat candidate instead that won.
Just stunned and surprised. This never happens at all.
You know, there aren't many boxes left when you make the ballot box a complete joke for people.
How do people not understand that this is another reason why we have the electoral college. There is RAMPANT voter fraud in portions of the country.
There is no evidence to support anything is going wrong. I like ENB and try not to slam on her. But this is pathetic.
You're one of the few who does not want to slam her.
I doubt it. She's fucking gross.
Yes yes, we all know about your preference for circumcised women.
It does seem odd how Democrats always seem to add votes to their totals after the fact. I think that one WI Supreme Court vote in 2010 or so was the only time I can remember that not happening.
It suggests there is something systemic about Democrat voters. Perhaps they are too stupid to fill out a ballot coherently?
Or perhaps Democrats are forced to use provisional ballots by bigoted, vote-suppressing Republicans and conservatives. Provisional ballots are counted less quickly.
There are numerous cases were close races were usually resolved in favor of the Democrat - ballots were "found" and counting continued until the Democrat won.
Republicans usually have to win their races beyond the margin of fraud in Democrat-controlled counties.
Republicans tend to be poorly educated dullards, but surely there are enough competent Republicans to serve as effective poll watchers.
You guys and your conspiracy theories. It couldn't at all be because the most populous counties lean heavily Democratic and take the longest to count.
Translation:
Funny how more populous Republican areas get counted super fast.
Funny how more populous Democrat areas in solid Blue areas get counted super fast.
Yeah funny.
It's not a conspiracy if they're actually trying to pull a fast one.
Dallas County has almost 1 million more people than Broward County and also reliably votes Democrat. To my knowledge, it's not taken us an extra two days to count the votes.
Also, it's funny that when the race is close and it looks like the republicans might retain control of one of the houses, this always seems to happen (ie: Al Franken).
In Mexico, the party of the president-elect "submitted legislation Thursday that would legalize marijuana possession, public use, growing and sales."
Finally, they'll have the money to pay for our wall.
Are you doubting that there will be a wall, or that Mexico will pay for it?
Next you'll expect us to believe that Obamacare won't be repealed, Hillary won't be locked up, and downscale rural white men won't be made to prosper bigly.

So, even when the Trump Administration appeals, assuming they just don't go ahead with what they want a la Andy Jackson, it'll have to go to the 9th Circuit. Then probably en banc rehearing, and then, finally, the Supreme Court might get to look at this.

At just 0.18 percentage points, Mr. Scott's margin had become so narrow that a more thorough manual recount is required.
How about you don't pick up votes from more than half the registered voters you don't win?
Given that the margin error on their vote machines is nearly 0 --- it seems odd that they are so off here, ain't it?
Hey, look what I found! Wow. Another Democratic vote.
"I'm tellin ya, what are the odds that this entire huge box of ballots were ALL for Democrats? And it's the THIRD one we found today? Man, funny world, ain't it?"

McSally's shot at making up this deficit is slim to none, and Slim just asked for his coat and hat.
Given the enormous number of early-early voters (much more Democratic) still left to count in 3/4-of-state-population Maricopa, where Sinema did strongly, and dark-blue second-largest Pima, McSally is not going to get nearly as much back from mildly favorable third-largest Pinal, nor all the other tiny little counties she won. They have not counted the late-earlies, which tend to favor Republicans more; but there are far fewer of them, and McSally would basically have to destroy them. Like doing way better with them than the in-persons for whatever reason.
Most other late developments have strongly favored the Democrats, tipping some races their way. Looking more like a very, very slight underperformance by the Dems than the "mixed" result that was the earlier national assessment.
They are just flat out trying to steal the election in Florida. Broward Country refuses to say how many votes have been cast. They are required by law to do that because it prevents counties from "inventing" however many votes they need for their candidate to win. Every other county in Florida has abided by the law except Broward.
So we now have the specicle of Broward county secretely counting an unknown number of votes to give the results at a time to be named later. Yeah that sounds legit.
I'm sure their Sheriff will hold an immediate rally against Voter Fraud tomorrow.
Arizona is completely on the up and up from everything I've seen. Florida is ridiculous. I'm more offended by the fact that they don't seem to even be putting any effort into hiding their criminality.
I think the fact that that Broward officials (not just election officials but all of them--we already know sheriff and school district for example) are so incredibly incompetent is a perfect cover for their crookedness. Like when they left that box of ballots at the school poll site to be found by the children in the morning; what the fuck is that. It really is the perfect situation for them; they've got everyone thinking it's completely plausible they could be bungling this count this bad out of sheer incompetence. Are they playing the Idi Amin long con, playing the buffoon so everyone is too distracted to notice the evil?
"We learned it from *Hillary*, OK?!"
They are trying to do the same thing in Georgia and steal an election but have been stopped cold.
IIRC, the Democrats have until Tuesday Nov 13 to prevent a certification of the election results. per Georgia law.
Arizona is completely on the up and up from everything I've seen. Florida is ridiculous. I'm more offended by the fact that they don't seem to even be putting any effort into hiding their criminality.
Broward County has much more practice at this. They long for the days of 2000 when people actually cared about Broward.
Broward carried on for months after election 2000.
They should have called it election 2001.
"Arizona is completely on the up and up from everything I've seen."
Agreed. About 2/3 of the ballots are mail in ballots. There are 100s of thousands of them just in Maricopa County.
The State of FL should step in and end vote counting.
The State of FL steps in with stand-your-ground claims.
Democrat election fraud is clearly going to happen during election 2020 when Trump runs for re-election.
I think the voter fraud infrastructure was not activated in 2016 because the lefties really thought Hillary would win and they would not need to commit voter fraud.
They were certain of a Hilldog landslide, so they instead focused on close senate races, like in New Hampshire
Furthermore, I tended to lean against the SCOTUS decision in 2000 to end Florida vote counting.
Based on this charade in Florida, I have changed my mind. If a state cannot get their voting shit together and account for the total ballots cast by the end of election day, then that states deserves to have its late ballots ignored.
I will have to take a new look at it myself.
That's crazy talk. Fuck you. Count every single vote and figure it out correctly.
Nope. Cheaters need to cheat by the end of election day or fuck you.
FWIW, the subsequent independent recount of Florida had Bush winning, even when using Gore's preferred chad counting method.
The interesting thing about Florida 2000 was that no one, in fact, actually stopped any county from completing a recount.
All the counties except Palm Beach and Broward did complete recounts and provide revised numbers to the Secretary of State in time for certification. What Palm Beach and Broward officials did was dither around over how to hand count punch card ballots. Up till that time everyone figured that recounts of punch cards should simply be done by machine.
I have always said (sometimes but not always in jest) that it wasn't that Palm Beach and Broward didn't have time to do the recounts but they couldn't figure out how to find enough votes to make Gore the winner.
The tactic is to delay and then tire out the non-Democrats so they stop playing attention to the voter fraud.
Voter fraud is still an area that Democrats have down to a crooked science. Republicans tend to go along to get along until 2016 and Trump was their response.
Republicans still are not willing to fight Democrats about voter fraud. Its like they're scared to be called some name for enforcing voter rules that everyone knew about before the election.
A reasonable compromise should be to not report votes piecemeal. In a state-wide election, if the various precincts or counties can't see how other precincts or counties have already voted, for instance, then there's less chance that they can "find" just the right amount of votes to matter. Florida should report the final vote tally once all votes have been counted, and not a second before.
The need to have fair elections should far outweigh the need of news networks to have something to talk about the instant that the polls close in a state.
A reasonable compromise should be to not report votes piecemeal. In a state-wide election,
And that is how it is supposed to work. Broward and Palm Beach counties were supposed to report the number of votes the night of the election. They have not. They have just ignored the law.
I guess I'm saying that I would go a step further. Rather than give a precinct or county a preview of how many votes might be needed to make up the difference, require complete silence from the state until they are ready to report 100% precincts and certify the numbers.
I'm not saying that I necessarily think that they are cheating (yet), but it's at the very least extremely suspicious that they keep "finding" votes. We need reforms on how votes are counted and reported, otherwise every close race from now until the end of time will be contested by the losing party claiming the winning party cheated.
Each county should have to count and certify their votes and then report it independently of the other counties.
Can we just expel Broward county from the Union? Or at least demote it to voice-no-vote status, like those other non-states?
I know. It's awesome!
So maybe my Senate prediction you asked me about the other day was more accurate than either of us realized.
YES!!!!!! The #BlueTsunami was even more enormous than we realized! Maybe enough careful recounting will produce a Democratic Senate that can block any dangerous right-wing extremist Drumpf tries to rush through Supreme Court confirmation. Additionally, such a Senate would be more likely to remove Putin's Puppet from office after the House impeaches him based on Mueller's Russian collusion investigation.

We should probably be glad that "libertarian" FDA commissioner Gottlieb's war on vaping has thus far--thus far--been this constrained in its scope. I was expecting something far more intrusive, in keeping with the normal Obama-holdover-type behavior of our "anti-regulatory" President's favorite executive appointee. #MAGA!
I'm sure it's just a coincidence that all of the ballots that are "found" are always votes for Democrats.
Well, you know how those Republicans do everything they can to suppress the Dems' votes!
Dead people have rights too!
Those folks have to live with the results of the election just like we do!

Late Tuesday night, our win was projected to be around 57,000 votes," Scott told reporters. "By Wednesday morning, that lead dropped to 38,000. By Wednesday evening, it was around 30,000. This morning, it was around 21,000. Now, it is 15,000."
He continued: "On election night, Broward County said there were 634,000 votes cast. At 1 a.m. today, there were 695,700 ballots cast on election day. At 2:30 p.m. today, the number was up to 707,223 ballots cast on Election Day. And we just learned, that the number has increased to 712,840 ballots cast on Election Day. In Palm Beach County, there are 15,000 new votes found since election night.
"So, it has been over 48 hours since the polls closed and Broward and Palm Beach Counties are still finding and counting ballots ? and the Supervisors ? Brenda Snipes and Susan Bucher ? cannot seem to say how many ballots still exist or where these ballots came from, or where they have been," Scott said.
But according to reason, Scott has no evidence anything wrong is happening. He is just a sore loser.
"Snipes and Bucher", indeed.
How do you lose hundreds of thousands of ballors only to find them several days later? And this seems to only happen when there is a close election and the ballots always benefit Democrats.
Maybe Sessions' replacement will start squeezing some low-level election officials.
Its because the Democrats lost Florida.
Once that happens, all Democrats scramble to produce duplicate ballots, forged ballots, and get out-of-stater absentee ballots into the melee of ballot counting.
Its corrupt Democratic Party voting technique 101. Just ask Republicans in Chicago and NY City.
Where are Rev and Tony? I'd love to hear them discuss with everyone how democrats are stealing elections right before our eyes.
Why so quiet lefties? It's almost as if progressives will let anything slide if the ends justify the means
Florida teacher finds 'provisional ballot box' in storage area
http://nypost.com/2018/11/08/f.....rage-area/
He's just a conspiracy theorist to notice that nobody seems to know how many ballots were cast on election night (a number that should be accessible nearly instantly given that they were cast on machines and optically scanned and all).
Yglesias et al said that the Left would "lose faith" if they won the popular vote for Congress but not the most seats (an idiotic claim). Imagine how the Right will react seeing elections stolen after the fact...
"Imagine how the Right will react seeing elections stolen after the fact.."
They're going to no shit start voting from the rooftops if things like this keep up.
There is no excuse for this shit in 2018. Still counting ballots three days later? Finding ballots after all this time? (Where? In the cushions of the couch?) I'm not even talking about things like absentee ballot fraud, just the inability to have already counted things that should have been in your exclusive possession for the last three days.
What this will lead to isn't that Trump will do something crazy. Trump isn't the problem. He's a populist who says mean things on Twitter and listens to the last person who had his ear. The guy after Trump though that Middle America and the Rust Belt put into office? He might be one, might actually embody all of the stuff the Left claims Trump does.
Absolutely. The leftists are so stupid they can't understand how by historical standards reasonable Trump is and how he is likely their last chance to ever deal with someone reasonable from the right.
This "House Popular Vote" and "Senate Popular Vote" is such a worthless and meaningless statistic that the Left is now fixated on. These are different elections.
The House and Senate are on popular votes. No? Where the left fails is that Senators represent states. Congress people represent their specific districts. People outside of those respective areas have no standing to vote for them. It really doesn't matter what people think about Pelosi outside of her district. You can have an opinion, but it's not going account for much.
I laughed out loud when I heard about Joy Behar's claim that Democrats lost U.S. Senate races because of "gerrymandering". It's obvious that she doesn't know what the word means and is just repeating it because she dimly remembers hearing the word from some MSNBC talking head. If she were told that Democrats lost races because of Mexican buttsex she would cheerfully repeat it on TV.
Notice how the media has shifted to the pending election races.
They had such a sad election day, that justifying stealing a few more races is worth their time.
Joy Behar's claim that Democrats lost U.S. Senate races because of "gerrymandering".
She's not even wrong.
Broward is overwhelmingly Democratic, you moron.
Hence, the cheating on voting.
No shit you fucking retard. They won't say how many ballots they have. God you are stupid.
So why can't they tell us how many ballots were cast? Are you saying that Democrats can't count?
Democrats dont know how many trunk fulls of ballots they need.
They are bad at math, yes.
So are you, Commie.

This is why it will probably end in Civil War 2.0
If you cannot even have fair elections, then what is the point of this experiment.
Any ballot not accounted for by the end of election day is to be disregarded. A state should have pre-voting if people are having trouble getting their ballots in by election day.
Election day is the LAST day to vote. If you vote after that, your vote does not count.
"This is why it will probably end in Civil War 2.0
If you cannot even have fair elections, then what is the point of this experiment."
Not until the next market crash, or whatever damned fool thing in the foreign policy crisis de jure sets it off: things are going too well here, even with these annoyances. But when things stop going well? Whoo boy.
Our system of governance operates on the principle that both sides get to trade off running things. If instead, we get a system of 'heads I win, tails you lose', if even your side is allowed to take power at all, because of electoral fraud, then people will think about trying some other system of governance.
I think many non-Lefty Americans were pretty close to being fine with Civil War 2.0 around election 2016.
Trump gave us hope that there are still enough Americans to reject Democrats and their corrupt ways.
Election 2018 shows that most of states overall dont like Democrats.
"Election 2018 shows that most of states overall dont like Democrats."
Non-concur. If their policies weren't popular, then many states wouldn't put them into office. It's not whether states like or don't like Democrats; it's that when either the Democrats or the Republicans, or (we can dream) the Libertarians get into power, they are allowed to govern according to their desires, subject to the Constitution. Also, that the parties are allowed to get into power in the first place.
Voter fraud undercuts this fundamental principle. So does importing a new population because the old one isn't voting the way you want, but that's a discussion for another thread.
Fraud this naked, this reliant on "these aren't the votes you're looking for" hand waving, makes people think that voting isn't the way to take turns governing. It doesn't stop people from wanting to have a voice in governance.
"But when things stop going well? Whoo boy."
Exxxxactly. We're all just a bunch of trust fund babies arguing over stupid shit. It's a dark comedy that will most likely end in tragedy!
Bill Kristol is your asshole uncle who just talks stupid shit at the table. He hedges his bets by laughing in case someone tells him to shut the fuck up. If not, he'll expect to be taken seriously.

He looks like he's waiting to deal.
Sorry bra. You make a video mocking assassinating someone, you get dirt kicked back in your face.
And things could get ugly.
Democrats make things ugly and it will get a lot worse when Trump replaces RBG on the SCOTUS.
Democrats will makes this even uglier when Trump wins reelection in 2020.
Democrats will make this even uglier when Thomas retires and is replaced by Trump.
Democrats will make things uglier when the 2020 Census takes House seats away from Blue states and hands them to Red states.
Democrats make things super ugly, like Hillary ugly, when Breyer croaks and trump gets to replace that douche on the SCOTUS.
Democrats couldn't care less. In a few years they'll enlarge the Supreme Court, adding enough justices to relegate every Republican justice to a lifetime of authoring bitter, desperate dissents.
Don't invite Ruben Navarrette and Jim Acosta to the same party:
"CNN's Acosta stopped being a journalist long ago"
[...]
"In the end, I don't care much about how Acosta treated Trump. He has a job to do, and it involves questioning the powerful.
I care more about how he treated his media colleagues, which is to say like he was the only reporter in the room ? or, for that matter, on Planet Earth. Their deadlines and live shots were just as important as his.
And I care most about how he treated that poor intern who learned the hard way that the most dangerous place to be in Washington is between Jim Acosta and a microphone."

Snoop Dogg, 47 years young has come to this pond every day for the past 17 years, to feed the hoes. But last month, Snoop made a discovery...the hoes...were gone! Some say the hoes went to Canada, others say Toronto. And some people think, that Snoop used to sit down there, near those hoes. But it could be, that there is just no room in this modern world, for an old man...and his hoes.
LOL
As of Thursday, Sinema had a slight lead.
John assured all the Peanuts that this couldn't happen.
(for the record I called it a toss-up)
It can't and it won't. You assured everyone that the Democrats were not going to lose any seats. You can't see how the country could reject President Hillary like that.
Liar.
Just like the Con Man.
You are claiming you never supported Hillary Clinton. Next you are going to tell us you never liked Obama either. god you are pathetic.
I never supported her - other than gridlock.
I have ALWAYS supported gridlock despite your lies that say otherwise.
I never supported her - other than gridlock
You really did sell your meds instead of taking them. That is the funnies thing you have ever wrote.
Buttplugger never wants Democrat gridlock.
He wants non-Lefties to be gridlocked so they cannot roll back Lefty policy.

Hil-Dog could win just by keeping her mouth shut. In fact she should do just that since she offers nothing as a candidate.
You never predicted Hillary would win. Right? Do you not think we can use a search function, you r fucking retard.

That is a prediction or endorsement? You're fucking retarded.

Fuck, you're an idiot.
Tell us more about how Hillary was going to win the election. You have been denying that for weeks. I finally took two minutes and found one of your hundreds of posts talking shit about how she couldn't lose.

You think McSally will win? How?
It is possible that the absentee ballots could contain a large number of military ballots.
The Republican's best shot to avoid a loss in Arizona is a Rapture.
Good luck with that, clingers.
If Democrats can "find" 9,000 ballots, so can the GOP.
As I said up-thread, I think it's on the up and up.
Here you can mail in your absentee ballot, or you can drop it off at a polling place on election day. There are probably shit-tons dropped off on election day and it could take a while to count them. If they are mostly in Phoenix and Tucson, it will likely favor Sinema.
Though I wonder. McSally is a Tucson rep. She was heavily involved with Davis Monthan. She is in general known and not considered extreme. So I think Tucson could supply more votes than one thinks
I don't know though.
Wasn't it Stalin who said something along the lines of "I don't care about the voters, I care about the vote counters."?
The Trump administration can't start deporting undocumented immigrants brought here as kids and protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled yesterday. "The unanimous decision...makes it more likely that the Supreme Court will settle the question," writes Robert Barnes at The Washington Post. "The Trump administration has asked the justices to add it to the docket for this term."
This is a totally lawless decision that stands zero chance of being affirmed by the Supreme Court. Think about what they are saying. DACA was "prosecutorial descretion" as we were all told at the time. They are now claiming that reversing that "discretion" requires going through a regulatory process to repeal it. So they could enact it without any process but it takes process to reverse it?
So they could enact it without any process but it takes process to reverse it?

Could we get some of these people as refugees? I'm guessing not since then the Democrats would have to admit there was something wrong with their agenda for this country
Funny how Democrats are so concerned bout refugees and haven't said a word about this or indicated any desire to take these people in.
Venezuala was before the leftists got their fangs in it, a great country. I would imagine most of these people would be real assets to the country. But they likely would never again vote for socialism, so the Demcorats think they should strarve and rot.
Venezuela is the FedGov's inability to make money running a whorehouse writ large. (Yes, I know it didn't really happen that way, but Venezuela really is going fucking broke while sitting on enormous oil reserves.)
Now that we have slammed the door on the Cubans we need to open it to the New Cubans!
Seriously, get as many of these motherfuckers in this country as possible. Hand them Padre Island to take over stern to bow and tell them to turn Texas into their Florida. Or at least get the middle-class types who were fighting Ch?vez from square one. The future of the U.S. could depend on it.
Yeah, and maybe not so much the guys who think Maduro has betrayed Chavez's glorious socialist dream.
I always like telling my friends, only half joking, that if I'd been given a chance by God to save one man's life in the world with my healing prayers, it would have been Hugo Ch?vez.

How about the fake pipe bomber? Or the Kavanagh accusations?
Its a war man!
The ends justify the means.
OMG, that's literally whataboutism!
We're supposed to be talking about Trump's evilness - stay on topic, people!
Wouldn't surprise me at all to later learn the pipe bomber was an elaborate FBI sting. If you'd told me the pipe bomber was a performance artist, say if Donald Glover wanted to be really transgressive with his art, I'd believe it.
Mail bombers don't usually ship bombs that have no chance of detonating.
When was the last time a bomber wasn't some dumbass set up by an FBI agent who came up with the plot and made the bomb for him? It's almost like there wouldn't be any bombers without entrapment.
Unabomber. That or go back to the 60s, or the bombs set by state actors, like the assassination of that Chilean attache a few decades back. Or the one dropped on MOVE. There have been a few organized crime assassinations done by bomb over the last couple of years.
And Tim McVeigh / Ramzi Yousef's truck bombs of course.
It's nice that none of the bombers that proved so vexing for the US and ISAF in Iraq and Afghanistan, seem to know what an airline ticket is.
The thing is, the devices the mail bomb guy sent weren't even in the ballpark for being effective devices, yet still magically managed to tick off every one of the checkmarks that public safety agencies use when asking themselves, "Is the package in front of you a mail bomb?"
More like reporting a mass shooting, and the subsequent calls for gun control, is higher on the media priority list.
You really give Rev. a run for his money as stupidest commenter here.
Well, I dunno about that... Artie is pretty fucking dumb.
At a press conference yesterday, Scott accused Florida Democrats of "rampant fraud," though he offered no particular evidence to support this.
Palm Beach and Broward are the two largest counties in Florida, and officials there are still tallying mail-in and provisional ballots. Like all Florida counties, they have until noon on Saturday to submit unofficial totals and are not violating reporting requirements.
Except for the fact that the Broward County Board of Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes, was previously found by a judge to have destroyed tens of thousands of voter ballots, and left dead voters on the rolls.
Is ENB actually this ignorant, or is she deliberately withholding facts.
was previously found by a judge to have destroyed tens of thousands of voter ballots
Uncounted ballots?
I'm calling bullshit without a citation. You're Trumping this one.
This is another great Democrat secret.
Election theft is actively funded by the Democratic Party via the same channels that the Democrats fund violent Lefty groups like the Neo-Nazis, Anti-fa, Weather Underground.
There is a huge amount of election fraud taking place, and most of it is from assholes like Weigel and Gillespie who vote in multiple jurisdictions via absentee balloting.
Personally, I don't think casting an absentee ballot should even be permitted unless a person is serving the country in a capacity like the military or diplomatic services.
I'm there with absentee ballots. Just too easy to use for fraud.
Early voting should be fine, provided the voter is identified, signs in, the poll workers confirms the identity of the voter and signature, and measures are taken to make sure the voter can't do it again. I'm at the dipping our thumb in ink point.
It should also be possible to use a hash function to provide the voter with a receipt of their ballot, that could be used to prove post-election to the voter, how the voter voted.
Count the ballots, have a paper trail, and report the results. Same day. It might take multiple days to audit the paper trail, compare signatures to ID's, that sort of thing, but there's no reason we can't have an accurate tally by the end of Election Day.
We don't do it, because the parties, and mainly one of them recently, finds it beneficial to cheat. And the other party, for reasons known only to them, lets them get away with it. Start dropping the hammer of justice on people fucking with the integrity of the process and these kinds of shenanigans should dwindle away.
And there's nothing recent about it. These shady boxes full of shady votes go back at least as far as Kennedy almost 60 years ago, and I suspect they probably go back even further than that.
We can't have honest elections with reasonable measures to ensure their integrity in this country because the hunger of the democrats to gain power over us all is insatiable and knows no limits.
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/lo.....story.html
he Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office violated state and federal laws by destroying ballots from a 2016 Congressional race too soon ? and while the ballots were the subject of a lawsuit against the office, a judge has ruled.
Based on that ruling, Florida's Department of State will send election experts to the Broward elections office in the upcoming election "to ensure that all laws are followed," the governor's office said. It could also cost the elections office more than $200,000 to pay attorney's fees for Tim Canova, the defeated candidate who sued the office.
Just because you are too stupid to search the web doens't mean we are. Take your meds retard.
Not "uncounted".
fuck you
Translation:
Just because they were "uncounted" doesn't mean that it was not illegal to destroy them. State and Federal law requires that ballots be kept for twenty-two months after an election. Snipes' department destroyed these after only twelve.
If I felt charitable I'd blame incompetence rather than malevolence. OTOH incompetence often does just as much harm and is hardly a better excuse.
Buttplugger has has some tough years since trump got elected.
And now RBG is definitely gonna be replaced by Trump soon.
Barack Hussein's Bungtonguer doesn't react well to having his bluffs called.
The decision stems from Canova's bid to unseat Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz in the Democratic primary, a race he lost convincingly, at about 57 percent to 43 percent, or 28,809 votes to 21,907.
Canova, who was checking for voting irregularities in the race, sought to look at the paper ballots in March 2017 and took Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes to court three months later when her office hadn't fulfilled his request. Snipes approved the destruction of the ballots in September, signing a certification that said no court cases involving the ballots were pending.
Snipes called the action a "mistake" during testimony she gave in the case, saying the boxes were mislabeled and there was "nothing on my part that was intentional" about destroying the contested ballots.
Broward was where they found the "missing votes" that allowed Wasserman-Schultz to win the primary. And she just "accidently" destroyed all of the paper ballots before anyone could inspect them
Go do the world a favor and kill yourself.
What's hilarious is he's defending Wasserman-Schultz's fucking over another Democrat.
Maybe he has the hots for her.
Lefty shills are so lazy. Not really earning your fifty cents, are you?
Google: Broward County Board of Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes found by judge destroyed voter ballots

Isn't Palm Beach heavily Republican? That was the country-club crowd that Trump crashed in the '80s, called them all racists, and basically acted out Al Czervik beat for beat--right down to threatening to turn Mar-a-Lago into condos. Now they are kissing his butt every chance they get by the way, of course.
No, it is not:
She also isn't correct that those are the "two largest counties in Florida". They are #2 and #3. Miami-Dade County is the largest population county in Florida.

65 of 67 counties were able to get their totals in on election night as required by law except 2. And the current Supervisor of Elections in Broward county is the same woman that destroyed boxes of ballot after the 2016 election. How is she not in jail much less still the supervisor of elections?
She ensures the vote happens as it should, instead of the way it actually happened I imagine. That said, I suspect it's just gross incompetence and a seriously insulated official.
Interestingly, since 2000, it's been the same two counties.
The winner of Georgia's gubernatorial race is still a puzzle.
Its not a puzzle. Brian Kemp won by 63,000 votes.
They counted some more votes between yesterday and today (I'm guessing mostly provisional ballots, since mail-in ballots should be counted by now) and Abrams actually lost ground on forcing a runoff. They're not going to find another 26,000 non-Kemp ballots hiding anywhere.
Funny, no Democrats are accusing the Russians of stealing this election in any jurisdiction.
I guess the Russians have lost interest in our elections. I can't say I blame them; anything this fucked up wouldn't be worth the effort.
Not a peep from Reason hacks about this topic.
How is it that the Russians hacked American brains to vote Trump in a shift the USA toward conservative and then they just stopped? If you were trying to control a nation, why would you stop when you could still do it?
Reason hacks are shameless propagandists.
Is this ENB's way of saying she finds Brian Kemp enduringly fascinating?
More that Lefty women need a surprise win and a black woman governor of Georgia would be sublime.
Unfortunately for ENB and other Lefties, Georgia is NOT Florida and elections cannot be stolen that easily.
It's her way of saying "I don't want him to have won, so he didn't! That's the way it works."
So it's official then, a Republican President can't reverse a Democrat Presidents EO?
Obama's Executive Orders are super-precedent
The response should have been "He made his law. Now let him enforce it."
That's the great thing about California. You never have election fights like this, because everyone knows how the elections will turn out years in advance.

At a press conference yesterday, Scott accused Florida Democrats of "rampant fraud," though he offered no particular evidence to support this.
Evidence is so last century.
Palm Beach County is illegally refusing to allow party representatives into the ballot counting area and forcing to make [sic] people stand behind a glass wall.
ENB is not only willfully blind and willfully deaf, but willfully illiterate too.
The FDA will ban flavored e-cigarette sales at most places

So it looks like the House "popular vote" will wind up being 51% Democrat and 47% Republican and the House will be 53% Democrat and 47% Republican. How is that unfair? WTF are Democrats complaining about?
Keep in mind that there were 33 races with no Republican and only 3 races with no Democrat. Seems like the House was actually unfair against Republicans this time around.
The problem the Democrats have accepting is that, with few exceptions, even the races they did win, or are about to win, they did so with very narrowly more than 50% of the vote. Yes, a win is a win, but it is NOT a mandate.
Exactly. Lefties still do not understand why the USA is not on their side.
Midterms brought out nearly every Democrats who could vote to vote.
Republicans did not all vote.
They were expecting a true blue tsunami, winning the house, senate, and governorships by UGE margins, so they could easily proceed to impeach Trump, Pence, and Kavanaugh, then rightfully install Her Heinoussness as POTUS. Next, they would outlaw all forms of firearms, gender specific pronouns and restrooms, fossil fuels, and tobacco, and impose a 50% tax on all businesses, investments, and income over $100K to pay for free college, childcare, and healthcare, including gender re-assignment surgeries .
Trump and Pence hope their security details really like them. Even if they aren't impeached, Herself is a hairs breadth away from ascending the iron throne.
*My wild conspiracy theory is she has them offed when the Senate refuses to convict after the House impeaches. Pelosi, being the third in line, takes her place as President with Hillary as her VP. Immediately after being sworn in she resigns due to "health concerns" or "to spend time with her family". Prestodigitation, Hillary is now POTUS.
"Trump and Pence hope their security details really like them. Even if they aren't impeached, Herself is a hairs breadth away from ascending the iron throne."
For certain attack modalities, like the SVBIED, though there are plenty of others, it won't matter how much their details like them. (We've sure given a lot of ATGMs to people without the greatest controls on the ordnance, nor the people wielding them. I'm not sure the Beast could take a Kornet or three. Especially one modified to run off something like IIR or some other form of self-contained F&F guidance.) Though the SS liking their principals cuts out things like how Indira Gandhi ended up biting it.
Anyway, my understanding is that Trump, at least, is fairly well thought of by his staff and the Secret Service. Similarly to stories of how many of the rank and file at various Trump businesses thought of him.
But it will eventually occur to someone that it would be a whole lot easier to get rid of Trump or Pence "by any means necessary", and get their desired candidate in the high chair, than to go to the expense and bother of a general election that Trump's opponent would probably lose. Even with the shenanigans in Florida and Arizona, and maybe Georgia too.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) plans to treat e-cigarettes and other vaping devices more strictly than it does actual cigarettes.

It's not so surprising that the Florida Senate race is so close, A lot of people like our Senator spaceman. On charm he has Rick Scott, who has all the charisma of Nosferatu beat to hell.
Nelson is a populist rather than a solid blue liberal. After brush fires forced the evacuation of a bunch of residents on the East Coast in the late 90s, Insurance Commissioner Nelson famously said that insurance companies should reimburse those residents for their expenses in spite of any language in the policies. That is the kind of guy he is, and that is the same kind of guy that Joe Florida is as well, not matter which party he votes for. Frankly, just as in many other states, the distinction between Democrat and Republican votes is not so much about whether the government should be giving out free stuff but about which people should be getting the free stuff.
