15 Times Trump Hit a 'Turning Point' Before Yesterday's Cohen Revelations
It's the beginning of the end, again.

Yesterday the president's longtime personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, admitted in court that he coordinated with his boss during the 2016 campaign to pay several women not to talk about their sexual liaisons with Trump. And Cohen's lawyer says his client is willing to cooperate with Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe. As Variety notes, Cohen's plea, along with former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort's conviction the same day on tax and bank fraud charges, are "being treated in the national media as a turning point in the Trump presidency."
That is indeed how they're being touted. But if all the turning points of the last two years were real, Hillary Clinton or Mike Pence would be in charge by now. Here's a sampler:

This is why I kind of just drone it out. It's like whitenoise. And there's too much going on for me to really have an opinion.
^ this.
Agreed. In regards to Trump's qualities, both positive and negative, this is one of the ones that I literally give no shits about.
Hey BUCS, how's the move going? I hope everything is going smooth, smooth, smooth. Much love.
I made it. Did my week orientation in NYC. In Boulder just this week. Made it in time for the company retreat and so I'm at a dude Ranch called Devil's Thumb right now
Oooh, awesome. Do they still do Wagyu Wednesday?
+1
IT"S THE END OF THE BEGINNING!!!!!
WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everything is just surreal. Trump being President, all the scandals (real, imagined and inflated), the fact people actually support the man, the fact that people actually act as if he's the anti-christ...it's like I'm streaming House of Cards and I can't turn it off.
Seriously. I really wish I could ignore all this nonsense... I mean stuff that actually matters is happening... But 98% of it is all just nonsense fluff. I waste waaay too much of my life paying attention to it. I could make an extra million bucks in the time I spend reading/commenting on all this nonsense!
This is what happens, when Democrats manufacture a fake narrative, get the MSM to harp on it non-stop, with only fake manufactured evidence to back it up, when their target just calls them out and their political opposition starts to investigate all their allegations.
Mueller has found nothing illegal Trump has done, especially regarding "Russian collusion". What a joke. Consider all of the US's interference in other countries' elections, or Hillary's collusion with Russians. Its hugely hypocritical. Or consider Hillary and Obama's interference in the election with the fake dossier and the manufactured investigation all duly reported to the press (many times anonymously via Hillay/Obama minions including those in government positions: Brennan, Orr, Reid, Strozok, Page).
The good news is the detailed truth is coming out. The bad news is no one is being prosecuted for it yet.
Collusion has nothing to do with Mueller's appointment.
Your comment is either dishonest or irrelevant, since LOTS of collusion exists within Trump's inner circle.
And this, LessFreedom,
PROOF ... COLLUSION!
And a totally psycho lie by Giuliani
LOCK HIM UP!
So, in your mind, being offered information about Hillary Clinton is something that Trump Jr should go to jail for? Is there any evidence he accepted it, or is merely receiving the offer enough to make him deserving of jail time? And even if he did accept it, what laws were broken?
Can somebody buy these reporters and talking heads a thesaurus?
It would be a turning point.
sound like a daytime soap opera. And now the "Turning Point" starring......
which it has become for the left
I think those are agreed upon talking points...they have to be, right?
you and Suderman should go to brunch.
THIS TIME IS DIFFERENT. THIS IS THE REAL TURNING POINT.
Or next one for sure.
Trump everything (turn, turn, turn)
This is my Reason (turn, turn, turn)
And a tweet to every purpose, turned up to eleven
A time to feel worn, or morally high
A time to chant, "a time to impeach"
A time to be shrill, Art of the Deal
A time to gaffe, be one of the sheep
Trump everything (turn, turn, turn)
This here is a treason (turn, turn, turn)
And a crime to every purchase, under Cohen
A time to click bait, no time to wait
A time for a chance, bring in ad finance
A time to cast away thrones, a time to gather thrones together
Trump everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is no pleasin' (turn, turn, turn)
And a time for every outrage, time for venom
A time of hate, a time of hate
A time of war, a time to snore
Or to say fuck it all...
In addition to my slow hand clap, I offer the suggestion of springing for a copyright.
Nice satire.
Original from the Zombies by Rod Argent. From the poem in Ecclesiastes.
I just like how these wonderful compositions translate through so many years.
I'd say that's worthy of a slow clap.
And I award you +1 internet point. Don't spend it all in one place.
Remy's going to steal it.
He is welcome to it. I would be honored.
You have won the internet for today!
Top drawer stuff
Thanks for the reminder. Very well done. Except the Hillary crack, which is always the Trumpster's excuse.
Nah, it's definitely not suspicious that only one of those articles used different language. Not at all!
No propaganda to see here, move along comrades!
Sorry, three articles. One 'Breaking Point' and two 'Tipping Point' stand out of 15 mentions listed.
Although, I'd guess that maybe the author was going for that assumption too.
Putin's Puppet will not serve the remainder of his term. He will be removed from office by next year's #BlueWave Congress.
Wouldn't someone who was Putin's Puppet have found a way for Cohen to be killed in a mysterious traffic accident or Manafort found dead from a mugging with his wallet still intact, or Mueller died of a heart attack while sitting on a park bench? Putin's KGB wet work manual must have been lost or something.
Heh, essentially people are making the case that Putin and Russia are by far the worlds premier secret service considering they spent maybe $250,000 to take down the entire West. That's a pretty good ROI, maybe they deserve to rule the world?
/sarc
Putin's KGB wet work manual must have been lost or something.
There was a digital copy of it on Hillary's email server. Unfortunately that's the one got wiped (with a cloth or something).
LOL.
Go Pence!
Singalong with Mark, "... Onward Christian Tal-i-ban, marching off to war. Let the Constitution die, we need it not no more .... "
Trump's fandom will increase because of all this. He is running something like a sports team. And fans don't leave sports teams.

Yep, Trump supporters are so far up his asshole such brave patriots that they will never let this obviously corrupt narcissistic asshole brave patriot go to fucking jail where he fucking belongs down. They'reunbelievably stupid and will believe anything great!
Good, good, let the butthurt flow through you...
Your butthurt has made you powerful. Now, fulfill your destiny and take your place at Jake Tapper's side!
While you suck Tucker's cock?
My conclusion about how the press portrays all of Trump's doings (and who he was doing is the least important of all) can be summed up by the old REM lyric:
It's the end of the world as we know it/And I feel fine!
The hardest thing for most people to except is that, underneath a cruder exterior, Trump is virtually indistinguishable from his predecessors. That's the real emperor-has-no-clothes conclusion: voting in a D or an R does not matter much at all. It's just deciding between two flavors of authoritarianism.

Trump evolved from a process where the media hyped the personality of a candidate above all else. I guess it goes back to JFK and the first televised debate, but the one I remember best is Bill Clinton playing the saxophone and answering a question on MTV about what kind of underpants he wears. Really-who should give a fuck? But so long as the president seems like a nice guy, or a fucking asshole if that's who voters are in the mood for, they don't have to do much else and let the bureaucracy drive itself.
"My conclusion about how the press portrays all of Trump's doings (and who he was doing is the least important of all) can be summed up by the old REM lyric:

Brace yourself for when the Democrats take the House and maybe the senate.
See my comment below.
I would agree save for the mistake that most of the ardently pro-Trump commenters in here routinely make:
They completely ignore the fact that "conservatives" have been trying to sell us/beat us over the head with this horseshit about "family values" and "decency" and "Christian living" and "law and order" for decades, then they glibly handwave away literally every affair, every indictment, every piece of plain evidence that neither Trump nor they practice one iota of what they preach. I agree Hillary sucks but at least Dems don't run on all of the above, while living the exact opposite and blatantly flaunting ever-increasing hypocrisy in the process.
Yes they do.
Hypocrisy is the very ?ther the DNC inhabits. Every single fascist thing the left claimed the "moral majority" was going to do in the 80's and early 90's, they now advocate.
"It's only okay when we do it" is the 21st century DNC motto.
Name one. Explicitly. No more mindless slogans,
Left - Right = Zero
Two sides of the same statist coin,
"Turning point" is a talking point. Most people have short memories.
"Cohen's plea, along with former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort's conviction the same day on tax and bank fraud charges, are "being treated in the national media as a turning point in the Trump presidency."
That is indeed how they're being touted. But if all the turning points of the last two years were real, Hillary Clinton or Mike Pence would be in charge by now."
It isn't a turning point until the American people say so, and it hasn't been shown that the American people say so.
Generally speaking, the elitists in the media have been sure that the American people would turn against Trump because that's what the media has been preaching since election night. I'd usually point to their futile attempts to influence the American people as yet more TDS. This time I think it is different--but not for the reasons being touted.
It's different because the first midterm after a new president takes office is almost always a referendum on the new president, and this time that's even more so than usual. IF IF IF and when the Democrats take the House, people will retroactively look back at this as the turning point.
What people don't realize is that the president's party usually suffers badly in the House after his first midterm--for reasons that have nothing to do with any of the president's policies or anything in the news. Americans simply react to any president coming in and changing things by voting for the opposing party in the midterms--no matter the issue.
The Republicans will probably lose the House come November, and the turning point with the American people narrative will be vindicated--in the minds of the press, the new narrative will be all about Trump's scandals and how the American people really want someone like Liz Warren to be the president after that awful . . .
Trump will wipe the floor with the Democrats in 2020--because he's stayed true to his rhetoric on trade with China, immigration, and raising the opportunities and incomes of swing voters in swing states in the rust belt. There haven't been so many opportunities for unskilled workers in the rust belt in generations.
No, that isn't mostly because of the trade war with China or immigration enforcement. That's mostly because of tax reform and deregulation, but Trump's narrative won't be about telling the truth either. It'll be about getting himself reelected.
I doubt there are enough half-educated bigots, superstitious goobers, economically inadequate yahoos, and ignorant malcontents in America's rural stretches to pull it that three-cushion shot again, but that is why we conduct elections.
If you want to win a national election, playing to swing voters in swing states is an excellent strategy.
I'm not sure the SJWs who run the Democratic Party can shut up about how much they hate white, blue collar, middle class voters in the rust belt long enough to win.
Rev. Arthur L. Kirkland|8.22.18 @ 1:27PM|#
"I doubt there are enough half-educated bigots, superstitious goobers, economically inadequate yahoos, and ignorant malcontents in America's rural stretches to pull it that three-cushion shot again, but that is why we conduct elections."
With you around, we're not lacking un-educated, self-righteous assholes.
Don't underestimate us!
Well they voted in Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, before Trump, so there probably are.
With people like you making the case for Democrats, even gay immigrants like myself won't vote Democratic. The Democratic party really has become a party of haters.
Mr. Seyton's point appears to be that there is essentially nothing that bigoted, superstitious, disaffected, can't-keep-up rubes won't swallow in the service of conservatism.
It's like it's about you, but with conservatives.
This is all wishful thinking again from dems and prog journalists who hate to admit that having Trump as POTUS is great for business. If and when he is impeached, which would imply that they win back congress, it will be their turn to be the hated ones.
Are you going to hold on to that if the Democrats take the House and the senate in nine weeks?
Here's the stats on first midterms again:
First column is House seats won/lost. The last column is what I see as the dominant issue(s) of that midterm.
+9 1934 Franklin D. Roosevelt Great Depression
+8 2002 George W. Bush 9/11
-4 1962 John F. Kennedy Cuban Missile Crisis
-8 1990 George H. W. Bush USSR Falls, Operation Desert Shield
-9 1926 Calvin Coolidge 1st Midterm in 2nd Term (Death of Harding)
-12 1970 Richard Nixon Vietnam, Kent State
-15 1978 Jimmy Carter Energy Crisis, Inflation
-18 1954 Dwight D Eisenhower McCarthyism
-22 1918 Woodrow Wilson Broken Promise not to Enter WWI
-26 1982 Ronald Reagan Recession
-47 1966 Lyndon B. Johnson Great Society, Civil Rights Act
-48 1974 Gerald Ford Nixon Pardoned
-52 1930 Herbert Hoover Smoot?Hawley Tariff, Great Depression
-54 1946 Harry S Truman Labor Unrest, End of Wartime Price Controls
-54 1994 Bill Clinton Gun Control, HillaryCare
-57 1910 William Taft Strife within the Republcian Party (Progressives)
-63 2010 Barack Obama TARP, ObamaCare
-77 1922 Warren Harding Strife within the Republcian Party (Progressives)
Point is, unless there's a new 9/11 between now and November 5, from an enemy most Americans have never heard of before, chances are that the Republicans will lose the House.
The point is do you think Republicans will lose enough of the house for an impeachment vote to be successful I think. Because that's the goal, or at the very least demonize Trump enough to use him as their entire platform for the next 6 or so years like the Republicans did with Obama.
It's pretty win/win for Democrats since there's no apparent penalty for calling the President an out-and-out treasonous NAZI. Well, except for maybe losing your security clearance anyway. ^_-
I think the dems will definitely win back the house and could possibly pick up 100 seats, which would prob guarantee them the senate too. If this happens, Trump is toast.
Nope. The Democrats won't impeach Trump. They will hound him mercilessly, torment the other Republicans, and enjoy the benefits of having the conservative brand be imprinted with corruption, racism, superstition, and failure for another generation or two.
Why let Pence become president when a neutered, unhinged Trump would be so much fun to smack around with subpoena power, investigations, indictments of his friends and family, etc.?
The real risk is that this weak loser would just quit.
How magnanimous of them; for a moment, I was concerned that the Democrats wanted to monopolize corruption, racism, superstition, and failure for generations to come all to themselves.
You can make a fair amount of money betting on that, if you are right.
On predictit.org right now, you can get about 8 to 1 on a bet that the Ds will have 251 or more seats.
And what did predictit.org say on August 22, 2016?
Yeah, that's right--
Trump has a proven track record disappointing opponents.
Dems lose big in election 2018. I predicted trump win. I was wrong about trump winning NY state though.
The Republicans' losses won't be because of Trump on any particular issue. If Hillary Clinton had won, the Democrats would be staring at massive losses in the House in this upcoming midterm. Trump's first midterm losses won't have anything to do with Stormy Daniels or Manafort. It's just a tough spot in the election cycle. There's always an issue to blame, and they gotta blame it on something.
The economic cycle works that way, too. Blame it on banks, lending standards, lack of enforcement, the need for new regulation, or blame it on Alan Greenspan! There's always something to blame. Fact is, speculation and the easy availability of money and credit drives misinvestment, and, eventually, all those misinvestments need to be unwound, so the credit cycle gets squeezed, the economic cycle has a turning point . . .
We're at one of those tough spots in the election cycle. Blaming it on Stormy Daniels and the Russians will seem reasonable to a lot of people, but it isn't about the player. It's about the game.
This is so stupid and I wish the talking heads would stop wasting their time. They keep acting flabbergasted that Trump's 35% of blind loyalists are still loyal. He could fuck by in a human centipede with Satan and Hillary Clinton and they'd think that made him even more manly and respectable. It's like asking why the retard class keeps blinking when you snap your fingers in front of their faces. He's still president because he hasn't been removed from office. His poll numbers are what they are--which is terrible.
If the question is why they aren't even more terrible, it's because said retards get all their information from Sean Hannity. That's the problem we need to worry about, and if that weren't problem enough, so does the president himself.
So, more censorship needed?
I've been advocating for a well-placed random sinkhole.
One of these is not like the other.
It's Tony logic.
Oh! Try-logic!
Well placed by randomness.
Well, you tried.
Democrats are beginning to understand the frustration of the Republicans during the Clinton Administration. Slick Willy had an uncanny ability to skate through scandals that would have sunk lesser politicians.
The truth, as Republicans found out, is when the economy is going well and people have jobs and are satisfied the average American doesn't give a shit about what happens inside the Beltway.
Most people already think politicians are corrupt, so none of this is a shocking revelation to them.
Trump is not a popular man, dude.
And Hillary had a 98% chance of winning on the day before the election, dude.
Still more popular than any of the neo-Marxists, racists, and fools likely to run for the Democratic ticket.
Actually none of them.
No Democrats are going to run?
Against the right-wing fascists.
Watching the left and right tribes do battle is like watching World War III break out.
In a kindergarten class.
Left - Right = Zero
Trump is more popular that you can even fathom.
Americans love that he is fighting the corrrupt Democrats.
All the polls saying he's the least trusted President ever ... a deep state conspiracy.
Slick Willie did have a talent for just walking through the briar patch. He had this kinda aw shucks good ole boy personality.
Reagan was another one. He had a charm about him. You felt he was talking right next to you.
Trump comes off as angry and abrasive. I guess that appeals to some people.
Yes, he appeals to absolutely horrible people. And these people think the founding fathers invented the electoral college so they could be in charge.
Tomy is really gonna be butt hurt when election 2018 is a blood bath for Democrats.
Libertarians know that the Democrats and Republicans are not the point.
Both want control of our lives.
Some politicians are better at it than others.
Yeah, Echospinner, but it's kinda fun watching them piss all over each other, as if most Americans care about their hissy fits..

Umm, collusion is the Trump team conspiring with agents of the Russian government, to help Trump win the Presidency ... which is EXACTLY what Donald Jr, admits on his own Twitter feed! And he's too stupid to delete the smoking gun! This is like watching the Three Stooges!
Mark22 swallowed it, but ... that's him.
I can't tell... is that Hihn or a Hihn-impersonator mocking Hihn?
My only question with the midterms is how will it effect the economy. The tax cuts were the positive thing since Trump took office. There is a school of thought that it would be a good thing if republicans lost seats in the house. It would make it difficult for the government to do anything which is precisely what needs to happen.
Yep. The eternal beginning of the end for Donald Trump.
Jesus CHRIST. Who in the hell thought that arrogant gasbag Olbermann belonged in the pages of GQ?
That screencap of his ill-fitting suit and his hyper-breathless "RESISTANCE" chyron are so incredibly punch-worthy.

It's strange that all these people and publications use the same term "Turning Point" when addressing the Trump presidency.
This is not a coincidence. All these people are obviously reading from the same "talking points" -- they are so blatant and transparent that anyone can see it's orchestrated.
No, that's ridiculous. There is absolutely NO COLLUSION by the media and the DNC, nor of course in the "free press".
And if you don't believe that, obviously you haven't read any of the 300 newspaper editorials explaining that THERE IS NO CONSPIRACY, on the same day this week!
See what well-known Trump-promoting site snopes.com says about this: "Newspapers from Maine to Hawaii pushed back against President Donald Trump's attacks on "fake news" with a coordinated series of editorials in defense of a free press ? and, not surprisingly, Trump didn't take it silently. " (can't put the link here but you can find it easily)
"Turning point" is a very common phrase ,,, among we educated people.
Conspiracies are the surest sign of a Trumptard.
The tipping points for Trump are about as real as the tipping points for the climate.
By the way, who did Keith Olbermann piss off that he is reduced to writing political columns for a men's fashion magazine? And why does a men's fashion magazine spearhead the resistance against Trump? I mean except for his hair, Trump is generally decently dressed, isn't he?
I correct myself after actually watching Olbermann; the man reminds me of the most incompetent communist propagandists. It's amazing that GQ would sully itself with his contributions.
It also slays me how so many handwave many of Trump's anti-press missives or his comment that "the second amendment people will take care of Hillary" as "just words." I find it perfectly plausible to suggest that he makes comments like this with at least some hope that his "just words" will be acted upon. In fact i feel there's an argument to be made that in some cases the only reason some of his "opinions" don't directly lead to actions is the reasonable mindset of others even including other "conservatives" who elect to not actually carry out some of his would be orders. But to continually look at it as just mere words is foolhardy. It's like saying The Godfather whispering in someone's ear is "mere words."
When one assumes the most powerful office on Earth, one should not be able to just say whatever the hell they want a bout who should be jailed/killed/srteipped of rights or possessions and suffer no consequences for it. We elect presidents knowing that their "suggestions" can very well be taken as commands by people who hold lesser but still significant positions of power. And also millions of rabid supporters who have been conditioned repeatedly to see anyone that is not a card carrying Trump supporter as a literal threat and/or "enemy of America."
We all heard him tell Russia to hack Hillary's email server. The first attempt was within hours.
Your pearl clutching is precious. Grow a pair. And read up on US history.
We all heard him tell Russia to hack Hillary's email server. The first attempt was within hours.
And thereby not only released important, relevant information on candidate Clinton, but also demonstrated the Democrats' incompetence when it comes to online security.
Mark22 never ceases to amaze!
Hear, he BRAGS about Trump/Russia collusion because ....ir exposed Democrat incompetence ... and damaged Hillary. About as lame as Giuliani's excuses.
We all heard him tell Russia to hack Hillary's email server. Long after it had actually happened
Fixed that for you, Michael.
TRUMPTARD CLAIMS TRUMP INVITED RUSSIANS TO DO WHAT THEY'D ALREADY DONE!
I can't INVENT anything wackier than that!
These just in.
The CEO of National Enquirer has been granted immunity, along with his attorney, to reveal Trump's personal involvement in the McDougal felony..
Jeff Sessions just jammed it up Trump's ass ... essentially defying the President to fire him. because he will NEVER allow the Justice Department to be perverted for Trump's political agenda.
Listen closely. Hear it?
Trump's death rattle.
