Brickbat: Too Big

The city of Seattle spent $52 million on 10 new streetcars. Now, city officials have found the new streetcars are heavier and longer than the ones they have been using. Officials say it isn't clear if the new streetcars will work on the current track or even fit in the maintenance barn.

Just think. This is one project in one city. Imagine all the frivolous waste spent on bad results that is too local to be reported and goes on constantly all over the country.
Marvelous. Hey, at least we get to talk about public pensions now. No further forward in dealing with them, but whatevs, it's only taxpayer dollars and we can always print trillions more. What's a few trillion between tribe mates, eh? A trillion is a mere $3000 for every man, woman, and child in America, which is just a month's rent in a two-bedroom in the part of the country that counts. It's practically nothing!
This'll all work out fine. You'll see.
Meanwhile miles and miles of already built roads are neglected from satisfactory road maintenance.
"...a mere $3000 for every man, woman, and child in America, which is just a month's rent in a two-bedroom in the part of the country that counts. It's practically nothing!"
Crumbs. Mere crumbs.
Meanwhile they narrow the roads for bike lanes that nobody uses.
Unbelievable. Aren't streetcars custom orders? Aren't the exact dimensions needed one of the most basic parameters that gets specified?
Not if you are a socialist.
The physical sciences are not required, only the social 'sciences'.
If the truth can change, why not the abilities and requirements of a track?
The physical sciences are racist and sexist.
Paternalistic too.
White men pushed physical science on the victims of white male oppression.
Measurement is racist and homophobic. And it uses too much plastic.
Perhaps it was a deliberate mistake to facilitate a necessity for a new $7.7bn scheme to update the streetcar infrastructure*
*just theorizing; no idea what that might cost
Does anyone remember the monorail episode of The Simpsons? That seems like a dream I had long ago. Was it real?
Monorail!
Phil Hartman was the best
Maybe they can use them On their ' high speed ' rail.
This just in person responsible for Seattle streetcar dimensions has been promoted!
Third time's a charm?
Also, you can always close tags if you've had enough coffee.
A streetcar blamed for the quagmire.
A streetcar named quagmire.
Far superior.
I don't know what you're talking about.
Looks who's talking 2.
Honey, I Enlarged the Streetcar
Wheels on the streetcar go round and round
Round and round, round and round
The wheels on the streetcar go round and round
All through the town
the square wheels on these new units make a very noisy, kerblock, kerblock sound as they "roll" down the street...
Giggity
Allllright. Leo gets it.
Nobody watches Family Guy.
What's Family Guy?
Beat me to it.
Stop fat shaming street cars.
DO NOT BAILOUT ANY STATE, CITY, OR COUNTY THAT GOES BANKRUPT.
Let these Lefty sanctuary cities go under. They have helped push the federal government to go into massive debt and they are doing that with their states. Even if the state has a balanced budget requirement, the Lefties massive pension liabilities that set up future defaults while avoiding the balanced budget requirements.
Next up on the budget agenda:
The need to hire a company owned by a friend to rip up and replace the trolley tracks - - - -
From the linked article: Ridership on the city's two existing streetcar lines has lagged expectations, but SDOT predicted that connecting the two lines with a First Avenue line would cause ridership to soar exponentially.
Really? The people who have been pushing this project have sworn up and down that as soon as this new section comes on line, that they'll stop looking like giant buffoons any day now? Hunh. Well, it's gotta be true, I've certainly never seen anyone in gov't play CYA before.
And still didn't end their' desire ' for a streetcar.
Ride The S.L.U.T.
Haha!
Haha!
Its all fun and games until budget cuts impact Penicillin supplies.
For shame.
Clang clang clang went the trolley, as it knocked into streetlights, cars, and other objects no longer safely out of harm's way.
Measure twice. Cut never.
Perhaps we should withhold judgment until we hear from MICHAEL HIHN.
MICHAEL HIHN + THOUGHT = < 0
Just make some links to upthread, accuse some randos of bullying, and call it a day.
nah, too much like work
Nah, it's not programmed to care about transit articles.
Just gun stuff, so it can post that one stupid out of context quote from Scalia, and sodomizing baby goats.
Why did someone build a robot for goat rape and shitposting?
God please no. I can't take the ALL CAPS or the endless pats on the back he gives himself for failing to win an argument that no one understands.
Besides, you have to say his name THREE TIMES to summon him, man.
WHO CARES - WE SAVED THE PLANET WITH OUR GOOD INTENTIONS!
Just you watch... The citys "cost effective" solution will be to slice the earth's crust in two and add cement to enlarge the tracks.
