The spending bill signed by President Donald Trump last week includes $600 million in the Air Force budget for two satellites the service did not ask for. Lawmakers say they just want to make sure the Air Force will be able to replace any satellites in that system if it needs to.

    1. Maybe it will improve the taste of IPA’s.

      1. Thus making them super-duper delicious?

  2. Democrats suggest spending millions on fantasy Air Force needs, Republicans vote in agreement, and Trump signs the whole budget.

Democrats knew that a federal shutdown would be blamed on Republicans even though it would only help Republicans at the ballot box this November. RINOs in Congress voted yea on the budget because they believe the media instead of realizing they are being challenged during their primaries because they are not supporting Trump’s original plan to rollback government.

    1. “RINOs in Congress voted yea on the budget because they believe the media instead of realizing they are being challenged during their primaries because they are not supporting Trump’s original plan to rollback government.”

Maybe the Democrats read The Art of the Deal and learned a thing or two about multi-dimensional chess?

    2. When did Trump ever plan to roll back government? Virtually everything he wants to do will make the government bigger, more expensive and more intrusive. And if Trump really wanted to roll back government, why has he signed not one but two hideously bloated spending bills?

  3. I hope like hell Reason has somebody going through that spending bill and picking out the nuggets of WTF like this. You know nobody read it, nobody knows what’s in it, there’s stuff that got randomly slipped in here and there, there’s typos and missing chunks of copy pasta and references to wrong numbers and so on that technically make wearing shoes illegal or give $50 million to a dead cow or declare Montana the capital of Delaware. I want to hear more of this shit.

    1. “I hope like hell Reason has somebody going through that spending bill”

This is why nobody wanted to be an intern.

    2. I hope like hell Reason has somebody going through that spending bill

What is Rand Paul, chopped liver?

  4. What is the use of the Republican Party to the middle class if they are not going to support smaller government and reduced spending? With the huge spending, appeals to ‘voting your economic self interest’ become effective for Democrats.

    1. The only time Republicans even pretend to act like stereotypical Republicans is when there is a Democrat in the White House. The only time Democrats even pretend to act like a stereotypical anti-war party is when there is a Republican in the White House. For years I’ve strongly argued against anyone who says the Republicans (or Democrats) are the “stupid party.” These politicians are eating filet mignon three times a day and incumbents are reelected at an unbelievable rate. The parties are NOT stupid. When the hell do we start to blame the voters?

      1. This

      2. Yesterday. Blame them yesterday.

      3. Sure the voters are to blame but how to convince them that when their team wins, they still lose? They all think that they are winners when the person they voted for wins the election. And that means more to them then any policies their guy (or gal) pursues while in office.

  5. “Lawmakers say they just want to make sure their largest contributors will be able to replace any campaign money in case they run for reelection.”

  6. Lawmakers say they just want to make sure the Air Force will be able to replace any satellites in that system if it needs to.

And if it doesn’t need to, it can just return that money to the taxpayers, with intereHAHAHAHAAA!!! Damn, couldn’t quite get it out!

  7. Why is there a picture of the Orion spacecraft boondoggle with this? Can Charles not tell the difference between a communications satellite and a manned space capsule?

    1. The same reason that the accompanying picture will show boobs if at all possible. The purpose of the picture is clicks, not communication related to an article.
