Brickbat: No Good Deed

When Mike Becker heard his family was being threatened by a man with a gun at an Independence, Missouri, store, he rushed to the scene with his own gun and confronted the man. Police arrived shortly after, and Becker put his gun down and raised his hands. Then he was shot by a cop."I was figuring, 'How the hell do they shoot him?' He never pointed a gun at the cops," said a witness. "He complied with everything they said."

Blue ISIS strikes again.
Blue ISIS, that's awesome.
The facial hair led police to mistake him for a dog.
Phew.
Why can't people just focus on that? Why does it always have to be about the bad things that happened?
"What we know right now is the two subjects who were shot were both armed," Syme said.
You'd think the guy with the rifle shooting people would have been their first target.
He was running away and armed. Way too much work and way too dangerous.
And nothing else happened.

Except lawyers will get rich
See, this is why we need strict gun control ? for cops! Let's face it, they have no business being anywhere near a gun as they can't handle the responsibility.
I'm willing to compromise and say that ones who are felons or mentally ill should not be issued weapons. I figure that cover about 95% of 'em.
--> See, this is why we need strict gun control ? for cops!
Hah, ha, ha, ha, HAH! With a long rifle no less. This guy is still alive because of a cops' piss-poor training.
If the cops say he was armed then he was armed, even if he wasn't.
You want to save people from bad guys, you have to join the union.
How dare he think that the constitution, and natural right,s give him the right to save his family?
Fat, thin, green, black, female, male, black, white, no matter. He wasn't a cop, so he gets shot.
"Procedures were followed"
Understand, the police have one overriding objective - to make it home safe. Nothing else really matters.
Mission Accomplished
Before you call the police:
1. Take care of the matter yourself and secure any an all guns.
2. Lock up any dogs you have, that you want to keep. If your spouse has a Yorkie, consider this an opportunity.
3. Set up your own video camera[s].
4. No firecrackers or other loud noises in the area; if you cannot control for this do not call them until the racket abates.
Feel free to add to this list.
After number one is complete, who needs to call the cops?
You are right, that tends to negate the subsequent actions, all necessitated by calling the cops. But then I suppose you will have to dispose of any and all remains that arise from performance of step one.
Set the trash out by the curb, as usual.
(Unless you have the proverbial 5 acres and a backhoe)
Never bury the remains on your own property.
Before you Don't call the police:
Fixed that for you.
