I have to agree with you on this one. An investigation for a security clearance makes sense (I presume that's the kind of thing they worry about with regards to blackmail), as does a criminal investigation if charges are/were pressed. But I can't see any reason at all for Congress getting involved.

Regardless, I thought security clearance investigations were supposed to raise these types of things as potential red flags, so I don't really have a problem with them looking into the allegations for that purpose.
