The New York Police Department has suspended officers Wing Hong Lau and Wael Jaber for failing to respond to a 911 call from a woman who said her husband was acting strangely and was going to kill her. The two went to the woman's home but did not get out of their vehicle. The woman was later found dead with bruises around her neck, apparently strangled.

Barry Wells, who wed the victim in April, was apprehended about 6 p.m. Wednesday with the help of the New Rochelle Police Department.

Police were able to reach through their car window to handcuff Wells.

The suspect was arrested Sept. 21 on a second-degree strangulation charge stemming from a July assault on Wells at her mother's Manhattan home.

Barry Wells was released after posting $5,000 bond and issued a temporary order of protection.

Police responded to the home for a second domestic violence incident involving the couple in September ? but there were no arrests, police said.

Nobody could have seen it coming.

Transfer them to North Dakota, so they can learn what _cold_ is. I live in the considerably milder climate of southwest Michigan, and to me the 20's isn't cold, it's just time to get out the heavy winter jacket when I ride my bicycle to work.
